6th Lecistani General Election [ESQ ONLY]

Postby Lecistan » Fri Jun 26, 2015 12:15 pm

Sixth Lecistani General Election

NOTE: If you are not part of the region of Esqaurium, you cannot unfortunately RP here. This is for Esquarium only.

Election season has begun as the sixth general election, and the first after numerous political reforms, is underway. Can YOU enter the Royal Chamber and run the nation?

This is an interactive RP, where you control one or more characters through Lecistan's general election. There are three major parties you can run for and interact with:
National Party (Karno Nôródowi, KN)
Party Leader: Emil Stolôrz
The party of power, the National Party is favoured by the nobility and Royal Court. Traditionalist, monarchist, and socially conservative, the KN is posed to win the election in a landslide, most likely due to the massive amount of corruption and nepotism involved.

Free Lecistan (Wòlny Lekkëbë, WL)
Party Leader: Sùlisłôw Załucha
The "other" far-right party, Free Lecistan is, well, absolutely fascist. Wanting to repel Lecistan's limited constitution and install an absolute monarchy, WL tends to align relatively close with the National Party, and there's quite a possibility for a coalition.

Moderate Front (Skarni Prosti, SP)
Party Leader: Janusz Mëdzerz
The official opposition party, the Moderate Front is an odd amalgamation of Christian democrats, socialists, and dissidents of the regime. As an opposition party, government eyes tend to gravitate towards the SP whenever something undesirable happens.

Now that your crash course on Lecistani politics is finished, create your own candidate! Just fill in the infomation below and telegram me your application. You can have up to THREE characters. I will accept it by TGing you back, and you can then RP in this thread. Happy campaigning!

Hotel Zenónsczi, Szimóngôcz
June 26, 2015 - 23:02

"Today, my dear friends, we toast to the Moderate Front, and a new Lecistan!"
Janusz Mëdzerz was thoroughly drunk at the table as the waiters circled around. "God damn, do any of you know how good this feels? We might make a majority government! It's 1985 all over again! Polling at 53%! Ahahaha!"

He was sitting with a group of political novices that were campaigning in the earldom of Upper Rzëszù. They were the Moderate Front's key to breaking the KN-LW hold on the region. "You know, we haven't gained a seat there since 1995. 20 years. That, my friends, is going to change!" The presidential hopeful poured another drink, swallowing it almost instantly, before rambling on once again. "Just imagine, a free and equal Lecistan for all! Hell, we may be able to push some democratic reforms! Widen the suffrage! Universal healthcare! Collectivization of farms! Oh, what a utopia."

Mëdzerz was a dye-in-the-wool socialist, for better and worse. He was controversial among the more rightist and religious sides of the party, and many thought a term of him as president would lead to overzealous rhetoric and an eventual dissolution of the Royal Chamber. That was of course before Krësztof II's tragic death.

"And now there's a Nevan on the throne." Mëdzerz kept rambling, most likely boring his small audience. "But he's far away. I wonder if he's as reactionary as the Òłówsczi were." Just then, a waiter tapped on his shoulder. "Pón Mëdzerz? It's time to make your speech."

"Of course! Thank you, thank you." As Mëdzerz stood up, he wobbled, before stabilizing himself on a chair and walking up onto the small podium at the end of the banquet hall, tapped the mic, and began to speak.

"Hello, dear friends. All I have to say, is well..." He leaned into the mic further. "We're gonna win. And fuck the National Party, the bastards." As he stated this, he began to tip forward as the alcohol his his body made it's presence known, and just before he tripped and fell of the stage, and quick shout of "People unite!" could be heard.

OOC: If I screw up anything, let me (or this gentleman) know.
Some auditorium
District Sz-9, Szimóngôcz

Simon Phelps dreamt of a strong nation, one where true independence is guaranteed and security cannot be defied. He wanted a powerful monarchic government that would perform efficiently, perhaps more efficiently than annoying bickering democracies. He wanted a powerful force that would at least not be crushed and humiliated in a matter of hours. With a burning desire to make his wishes reality, Phelps is more than ready to both run for Free Lecistan and drag the nation into a more-prosperous era.

The Ocelotian descendant stood on a wooden podium in a local session, attended by people interested in or sharing the ideals of Free Lecistan. He sipped from his glass of water as he glanced over the posters that adorn the walls to a degree, the overhead lights that glowed incandescently, and the audience that was steadily growing in size. This simple place gave an early opportunity, for him, to lure support for his cause. He sipped again t oensure he was adequately hydrated, before he prepared his microphone and spoke out for his campaign.

Gentlemen, ladies, I can only be grateful that you are here to heed me.

It is without a doubt that the opportunity to select the future leader of Lecistan is approaching. It is not long before all will have to select the right man, a man who is capable of keeping our country safe and prosperous. There is a crazy world that surrounds us and there is the ever-increasing need to find the person that will invest, without little delay, in Lecistani society for the Lecistani good.

If you are on a mission to find that person, the next leader of our nation, then you need not search any further. You have me. With me, I will help overhaul the government to minimize unnecessary bickering, so we can get our job done faster. I will help make Lecistan more independent from other countries, so we can be more self-sufficient. I will help promote the safety and security of Lecistanis by boosting our police and our military, so that our society will see less criminals on the street and that we will be less of a laughingstock. There is so much more that I can do, yet they all must be backed by cooperation between the both of us.

Should we work together, our efforts will ultimately pay off and we can make a truly free Lecistan possible. I bid you good luck in making the best decision, both for yourself and for all of the nation.

Applause filled the room and the audience roared in support for Phelps. To the attendees, it seems as if he is the next leader of Lecistan and is perfectly fit for the job. But perhaps he had something sinister planned.

National Party Headquarters, Szimóngôcz
June 30, 2015 - 20:51

"We just passed below 17%."

Emil Stolôrz, the leader of the National Party, was visibly livid as he threw the paper onto the desk. "We're in third place. Do you understand how embarrassing that would be? We need to become strategic in gaining seats now."

He motioned to the two men at his desk. "That's where I need you. Jóchôs, I need you to aggressively campaign in B-11. That's Mëdzerz's seat, and if you kick him out, the Moderate Front will need to pick a new leader, and it might lead them into chaos, and we could snag some influence in the Chamber. Czerwinski, I need you to sway the urban districts of Ricérzów towards the National Party. It could snag us a majority in the Lower Rzëszù earldom. I will release an official announcement tomorrow for the party. Hopefully, that will help the polls."
