I think it's hilarious that the one set of votes I've gained so far...is a ten.

No.

Hot boys then.
If you do a serious homosexual love song to a decent dance track, you'll be much more likely to get the Tödlichebujoki vote.

This actually goes for anyone, and works with any good tune (I chose dance for Mister X because that's his style)

Wait... hot boys and racing + good dance track. That will seal the deal.

At least for my nation, anyway.

A few editions back I was the last to vote and I gave 8 points to one country that didn't have any points yet, the user ended up being annoyed that it didn't end up with nul points
also in eurovision 1998 greece got 12 points from cyprus but no one else voted for them

I actually tried to look for it this edition and only found the hardness rating, maybe I just couldn't find the association between bread (medium) and the pace of the song but yes it was there i saw it

Are Free Republics' votes valid? Like are you allowed to vote purely based off the running order?

No. But it would still be accepted. It's like the UK voting the points based on the order of the songs, Eurovision wouldn't turn those votes down. What shouldn't be valid is that group of nations that vote for each other and get away with it.

It's one thing to have votes that follow the running order, it's another to vote because of the running order.

I remember a long time ago there was a discussion on whether to disqualify nations that appear to be voting tactically, but it was dismissed because it isn't really possible to prove it 100% of the time.
A country presenting their votes like HRE did may just happen to like the songs in that order (and if so it can't always be proven that it wasn't just off the running order), but in this case HRE explicitly said that the vote only took into account when the songs performed, so idk about that...

...is the voting deadline tomorrow? That was quick! I better complete my scoresheet fast...

I remember it as I was the one who got the flak (if I remember correctly, it was the contest in which my votes made something like 4 or 6 ties). Honestly, you can't force people to vote in a certain way (or in this case, not in a certain way). Tactical voting will always happen, just as in Eurovision, but on the other side, WV has the advantage that it won't stop a winner from winning (if there is a smaller difference than the votes could maximally muster, both songs deserve to win either way) and everything lower doesn't change a thing (we have no semi-finals, etc).

Last time I checked, we're all participating out of free will and fun. I would hope that having freedom to vote how you wish (puppet voting not included) is a part of that, certainly as there is no way to prove someone votes tactically (without having a massive margin of error). Besides, such issues should and would have to be dealt with by the next committee and certainly not this one, as it would leave too little time to properly assess the situation and would promote a rash decision.

omg

First and second, by my (possibly flawed) count are only 1 point apart.

Also, Kiraya has ended up only two places higher than OransSky did with "Scandalous!", how awkward

And yes, thank you Ekoz for doing such an amazing job hosting!

Results are being reviewed at the moment, just in case you're wondering why they're not up yet. At least both of our scoreboards show the same winner.

Which may be surprising to some.

I'd be surprised if I won. Like really surprised. And a bit annoyed bc I find my current entry one of my lesser ones.

To address the commentators (OOCly), the phrase "you make my waters break" isn't actually about pregnancy, it's about "natural lubrication if you know what I mean.
Speaking of that, my commentator received 2 gifts from Santa Claus, one of them is an autographed photo of their favourite act of tonight, while the other one is a piece of WV40 merch for the usual commentator, who couldn't attend due to being the host of another event.
Marianna received... something beach/summer related I'm too lazy to think this up

And Mister X, you might wanna go for this as your next tune?

Congratulations Praciba! omg I wonder how we did
