Jamie Nieri will represent Krytenia at WVXL, with his song, Can't Live Without You, selected by KBS' internal selection committee.

Nieri was quoted as saying "It's good to see the Celesta flying at the WorldVision once more, it's been two decades and to lead the nation's return is a massive, massive honour. Now all I need to do is sing my heart out and hope that I can give us a good finish."
"I revel in the nonsense; it's why I'm in Anaia."

Announcing WorldVision: The 'Best Of' Edition

For forty editions, the WorldVision Song Contest has brought nations together through the medium of music, captivating audiences throughout the world. WordVision has a strong legacy and will continue to do so for many more editions to come.

As WorldVision celebrates it’s ruby anniversary (the theme of this special edition), the Committee, with laboring from the STE and TÖBUK announces a one-off ‘Best Of’ edition. What is this ‘Best Of’ edition? Any nation who has previously competed within the WorldVision Song Contest will be able to enter, however, said nation must only enter a previous act that has represented their nation in a prior contest. This does mean that unfortunately debutante nations are exempt from competing within this anniversary special, however, debutants will still be able to be involved in the contest within the voting process.

The Committee can confirm that the hosting of the Contest has been confirmed and is working closely with the host Television Broadcaster. More information regarding WorldVision: The 'Best Of' Edition such as the host city and the dates of the contest will be announced within the coming days.

I'm still bitter that it didn't do well ratings-wise here. I know it's over 2 months ago...but that's not the point.

We're also considering the possibility of a "Worst Of" event for the more infamous entries, so keep that in mind when choosing your entry for the 40th anniversary special.

For the 'best of' contest... Do the songs have to remain exactly the same performance and lyrics-wise, or are modifications allowed on them? (Tune ofc remains the same, but just wondering).

I'm stuck between three songs... Hmm...

Luckily, I have only one logical choice for a 'best of' contest. Finally, the Subtle Swords will return to WorldVison.

Can we make a national final for Best Of?
I had thought this would occur for the 50th contest (maybe make another one!). If Best Of will happen a bit later, I might send in my WV41 entry (which I haven't written but based on the tune alone I think it would be one of my strongest entries to date), but otherwise I already know what to send (in case I don't have an NF).

Izmedu wrote:For the 'best of' contest... Do the songs have to remain exactly the same performance and lyrics-wise, or are modifications allowed on them? (Tune ofc remains the same, but just wondering).

I'd reckon we be allowed to change the performance. One of the entries I'm considering had a performance that maximized (and thus relied heavily on) the stage design, it would be very difficult to recreate it unless the Best Of stage contains the same elements that the original stage did - and that's unlikely.
If I choose to send one of my Kalosian-language entries, I may have to modify the lyrics so it follows current grammatical rules, rules that may have not existed at the time of the entry.

KwaDai wrote:Oh so like the 60th anniversary of Eurovision. "Eurovision's Greatest Hits", by the BBC?

I'd say it's more like a Eurovision except all the songs are the countries' previous entries.

If the Best Of was done on the 50th, it would be approximately in around 10 months which would be April/May 2016 which is pretty much exam season for me and a lot of WV players. Especially with the drought of action last edition. Having the Best Of edition now seems appropriate as it's now a lot of peoples summer holidays.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think the lyrics should stay the same as that was the song that was entered and was voted for in a previous edition. I'm be happy for people to change the performance however. The lyrics weren't changed for BBC's EuroVision's greatest hits, so IC'ly, lyrics shouldn't be changed, in my opinion anyway.

EDIT: Dates are being finalised for the Best of Edition, so in regards to the NF I'd wait until the dates are announced :)

(not taking into account medleys) some artists added a language change to their song for Greatest Hits. The lyrics I may be planning to modify would only be a slight grammatical update, nothing more.

In a few editions, I would have entered in half of all WorldVisions to have ever happened. Whoa.

I understand, but the Best Of is a contest, not just a show. Grammatical update isn't so bad, but changing lyrics I'm not so fond of.

Ah, if changing the performance is allowed then this makes my selection even more interesting (so much for lyrics, I want to smack my past self for some of them). What a lot of former ESC entrants did for their songs back in Eurovision's Greatest Hits inspired me a little bit, and I'd love to do that to one of mine. Good thing the 'best of' appeared right on time.

It's looking more and more likely I'll default to my winner though, even though I feel funky re-sending it so soon.
