A beginners guide...

The WorldVision Song Contest, based on the Eurovision Song Contest aims to provide and unite nations from different parts of the World through music. The WorldVision Song contest is an outlet to showcase the popular or native music of your nation. As with every contest, there are a few simple regulations that need to be adhered to.

1. No real-life song can be entered into the WorldVision Song Contest; of course, the melody can be used but at least 80% of the lyrics must be re-written. Translations of real-life songs will result in immediate disqualification.
2. Nation's are free to choose to host a national final or internally select their representative.
3. It is compulsory to vote. Failure to do so will result in a one-contest ban.
4. Each nation may enter ONE puppet nation; the master nation must confirm their puppet. Should a nation is found to be in breach of the one-puppet nation rule, sanctions and a disqualification will be put in place.
5. A debutante nation cannot bid to host the WorldVision Song Contest. A nation must have entered and completed one Contest in order to qualify to host a Song Contest. Furthermore, a nation that has put a host bid CANNOT vote for their own bid. This ensures a democratic, and fair result.
6. If you suspect another entry to be either wholly or mostly plagiarised, please telegram the WorldVision Committee with your concerns. The committee will then review the entry before making a judgement. If your entry is disqualified for whatever reason, you will not be reinstated even if you edit your entry.

ETV has confirmed that, despite their incredibly poor performance in Regica, Elejamie will return for WV38, along with Cerin Erali and Flynn Taggart as commentators. However, due to poor results in the past two contests, Elejamievision has been cancelled and internal selection has been brought back, although nothing has been said about who it would be.

They have also said that a host bid was in the works before it was cancelled due for unspecified reasons.

After Zapadni's WorldVision debut, it has become big business in the small Izmeduan protectorate, with many artists seeing it as the ticket to quick success despite the mediocre result that Zapadni brought in. Artists from both the protectorate and Izmedu itself have made bids to the ZBC to participate under the Zapadni flag. After an overflow of entries, choosing one song was deemed impossible. Thus, 10 songs from the hundreds submitted have been chosen by an internal jury as deemed best fit to represent Zapadni in the WorldVision stage.

The ZBC now asks for international juries to vote for the best entry. The winning song will represent Zapadni in WorldVision. Please TG your votes to Zapadni using the WorldVision format. 12 to your favorite, 10 to your second favorite, and 8-1 for the rest. (Votes sent to Izmedu will not count.)

Puppet of Izmedu. Breakaway province with volatile relations to the nation it was once a part of. Diametric opposite to Izmedu in terms of ideology and politics.

After a successful début, Al-Balansiyya is once again participating in the WorldVision Song Contest, this time, with a large NF of 20 songs...

Image

The popular Kdam-WorldVision format is back on Balansiyyan screens, this time under the guise of Shidiga IlaAl-Balansiyya (A Star For Al-Balansiyya), but this time it's bigger than ever. A total of 20 songs will compete for just one prestigious place at the 38th WorldVision Song Contest, the most popular musical event in the world. There will be two semi finals, with the top five songs, plus the international juries favourite qualifying from each, leading to a total of 12 songs in the final. Voting will occur like this: The seven Wilyats of Al-Balansiyya (Dar as Reyim, Al-Qush, Al-Kosta Libi, Feqwara, Lahdiqiyah, Al-Berija & Al-Sur) will award points according to the amount of votes each act received from a pure televote in the format of World Vision (12, 10, 8 & 7-1), This is then combined by the scores of an international jury, seven in total who also award points in the WorldVision format. The top five acts will advance, with the act with the highest jury score which did not qualify also advancing to the finals. The final will thus comprise of twelve songs, and the voting format from the semi-finals will then be carried forward to the finals. The final round will be for only the international juries, who will vote on which language (or languages) the song is to be performed in. After this vote is closed, the full winner and song can finally be unveiled - and this will be Al-Balansiyya's song for WorldVision.

The acts for the Semi Final are as follows:

SEMI FINAL 1

01. Aden - Estas Vojti/Hollow Ecstasy
Melody: Kygo ft. Conrad Sewell - Firestone

02. Dana Lujayna - Maltempata Mithela/Perfect Storm

The STE, of course, confirm Ekoz's participation in the 38th WorldVision Song Contest, with the extremely popular Ekoes Soekke vor Winaar already underway.

After a top 5 result with Elle Foentenstaan, Ekoz hopes to achieve the something that has never been acheived before; the number one spot.

STE's Chief Executive for the WorldVision Song Contest, Mia Elensoemerhous would neither confirm or deny any intent that the STE had in regards to a host bid.

OOC: voting is open, and will be open until April 1st.

TeagueVotes: WORLDVISION 38

Postby Teague » Wed Mar 25, 2015 2:35 pm

THE FOLLOWING WAS RECENTLY WRITTEN ON EntertainTeague.TEA

To say that Michael Norse's first year as head of the NCAT has been problematic would be an outrageous understatement. He came under fire immediately at the start of his presidency after declaring an open vote for Teague/Vettrera's Worldvision selection. Generally speaking, all NCAT distinguished members (meaning any multiple Gemini Award holders, and past Worldvision writers, assistants, and artists) are eligible to vote for who represents Teague at the worldvision contest. However, Norse put an end to that and allowed for global voting to take place. Beyond that, the songs Norse chose to open for voting were way too similar. Feeling that Donna Trish was too biased in favor of female go-getters (which she was, but that's besides the point), Norse chose to only nominate males, or male-only bands to participate in this edition. The fact that he only offered 3 very similar songs for selection angered nearly everybody. And that fact that Sunlight by Zeros placed in the middle did not help matters. Norse also came under fire for vetoing the NCAT's proposal to allow for "Video of the Year" categories to be added to the Gemini Awards. In an effort to assuage the fears of Teague's Worldivison fans, and the NCAT, Norse has surprisingly released early the list of artists he has nominated for the 38th Worldvision contest. Familiar faces include Teague's (Vettrera's) original performer Misty Adams, and new mother Angelica Slate, who was supposed to originally perform "Over The Edge" in this edition of WorldVision prior to pregnancy announcements. The list also features the underground-pop band Telegraph, and Gemini New Artist of the Year Natalia Chateu. Each artist has submitted 2 songs for the contest.

MISTY ADAMS
1-HURT | 2-VOICES

ANGELICA SLATE
3-OVER THE EDGE | 4-RUN AWAY

TELEMARK
5-DECADES | 6-TWILIGHT

NATALIA CHATEU

PLEASE VOTE BY LISTING YOUR TOP 6 SONGS, assigning each song 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th. PLEASE TELEGRAM YOUR VOTES TO VETTRERA

If I withdraw (just if), will I be disqualified?

In our semifinal 2, there is a song called "Gregory is God Forever" (果戈理是永遠的神), it is a song glorifying Lord Almighty Gregory of Gregoryisgodistan.

Puppet of GGS. Can I use an expanded version of a song I submitted to a humor contest in the Washington Post which may or may not be published (I'll find out tomorrow)? If so, Gertrude McFudge will be singing "I'm An Old Fart" in honor of her 80th birthday.

Edit: It's OK with the Post provided I link to the contest results if it wins a prize.

No. Some people might be a bit disappointed, but no disqualification. I think you can only be disqualified by having plagiarized lyrics or not voting.
