Liberalism is by definition an ideology which supports freedom usually in the forms of Religious Freedom, Free Press, Free and Fair elections, Free Trade, Ownership of Private Property and other such freedoms. What this Organization wishes to do its to promote such values by creating a union of political parties and organizations which promote such values. We wish the members of these parties to come together and to promote the success of fellow member parties and to help aid others.
As an organization we wish to combat the ideals that contradict the values of freedom such as radical Communism, National Socialism, Theocracy, and Monarchism which inherently hold values which stand against the Liberal values of freedom and Democracy. This does not mean aggressive resistance and we understand that in a true democracy ideologies such as those must be represented if the people so choose to vote them in.
We also hold that no member party take part in violent acts against the government of the nation of which it resides in however nonviolent parties that are banned due to political reasons will be allowed to enter into the organization but will not endorse active coup's or active overthrowing of a government by a member party but however we will endorse peaceful movement towards democratic reform within a nation.
We accept all kinda of Democratic parties ranging from Traditionist conservative parties to Pregressive Socisl Democracy parties and anything in between. Economiclly we accept the fact that there are many ways to interpret an economy so we accept all economic ideologies as long as they are based on a Capitalistic Market platform. This expands Laissez-faire Capitalism to Mixed Capitalism. The ODL supports all sorts of varying economic view points as a way of enriching the organization and the parties that contribute to it.
As for Social policies this is something the ODL doesn't take into to much of consideration we do have some requirements and that is for the parties to support the values of Personal Freedom, Democracy, Free and Fair elections. We accept all types of social philosophy ranging from Traditionalist to Progressives.
We ask for a small donation from each member in order to help the ODL in its functions of support and promotion of all parties involved however such a donation is not required for membership.
