Transversal Red Cross
The NationStates Red Cross is a transversal organization dedicated to providing Humanitarian aid and neutral medical care in battle field situations.
OOC: So this is what I have had in mind. On a previous game I played called Nations on Facebook I had formed such an organization however, now that the game is unavailable on Facebook most of my records from the Mission to Charter to Roaster have been lost. Some one recently asked if their were any Humanitarian organization on NS which got me thinking back to the Nations Red Cross. Essentually member nations would agree to allow members (not the nations but volunteers from them) of the Red Cross to aid their forces and to not harm the volunteers. The NSRC would organized medical and relief operations using equipment donated to them by member states. Volunteers would wear a special armband to identify them selves on the field (Nations serving solely as relief might want to put up a flag to identify themselves as Non-Combatants), and all vehicles would be strictly labeled with the NSRC's Emblem.

Past Operations
The Sassina-Deneager Conflict - A war broke out between the states of Sassina and Deneager. War began when the Democratic state of Sassina found out that Deneager is supposedly a Fascist state. We provided medical aid to troops and war relief to the families affected by the conflict. TRC had three attendants to the conflict.
Rebuilding of Novo Wagondia - The state of Wagondia had been devastated by biological, chemical, and nuclear weaponry thanks to a surprise attack by the nation of Taitung Pinyin. We aided in the rebuilding effort providing temporary shelters and medical aid. TRC had two attendants to the rebuilding efforts.
Leafield Flood Recovery - A flood ravaged the settlement of Leafield. Flooding, due to unusual rains, continued for the next 2 months. In that time the death toll and number of homeless is increased drastically. Volunteers were expected to aid in expanding refugee shelters outside the Ryccian Capital and to aid in resisting the flood waters. Medical aid was given as needed. TRC had two attendants to flood efforts.
9.8 Earthquake in Asasia - A 9.8 Earthquake had struck the Nandian Penensula. The 2nd most inhabited region of Asasia. Aid has not been going well and were in desperate need of assistance. The TRC set up base in Hafen Konig,s and had six attendants present at the operation.
Ethics of the TRC
- A volunteer shall not refuse aid to another person on the basis of religion, nationality, sex, gender orientation, ethnicity, race, species, or political affiliation. Volunteers are obliged to assist in relief efforts being conducted with in the TRC Operation of which they are involved.
- A volunteer in the field shall never take up arms in the conflict, even in self defense (OOC: this does not exclude members from having separate military involvement in the conflict).
- Volunteers shall abide by the TRC Code of Ethics.
- In the interest of dimensional integrity certain boundaries shall not be crossed (for example, if an RP is MT and does not allow Muliple Species we shall try, if at all possible, to keep PMT and FT as well as Extra-Species members from being involved as a gesture of respect, also so that the fabric of space and time does not deteriorate before us
