Indeed, Carlos was soon ordering the army block any entrance to Parliament, and even ordered the Police to arrest any members of Parliament that are even centrist, whilst center-right and far-right ideologies were encouraged and allowed. Throughout Karenytenia, the entire police and military were merged into a single body, whilst legally remaining separate. Even children as young as four were often arrested if they have been accused of being "communist."

Yarel Vyerelyn made a speech to be carried on Karenytenian radio and television on 6th April: "Karenytenia is now a beacon of freedom and democracy. We are here to say that Karenytenia is now really independent, and not that Iglesian colony which was before while being disguised of sovereign state! Now, we're really free from the shackles of Iglesian supremacy! Long live Karenytenia!"

Already, General Carlos issued an order, declaring that the Iglesianic script be replaced within one month with the Latin alphabet for use in the National Armed Forces and the National Police, declaring that the script was communist and a threat to the people of the Republic of Karenytenia. Indeed, with strong patrols, some CIA agents and generals from Luziyca moved to Karenytenia, to train the National Armed Forces of the Republic of Karenytenia, to exercise their freedoms and democratic rights.

The Alexlantian carrier plane opened it's doors over a rural town in Karenytenia. Equilibrium members, with helmets and body armor on and parachutes strapped to their backs, jumped out, deployed parachutes, and began their descent, guns ready.

We aren't persecuting anybody. Karenytenia has full freedom of speech and our country is a democratic regime. In fact, communist parties are allowed in Karenytenia.

Christiana, Demphor

"Good evening Mr. President," said the Joint Chiefs of Staff, "What seems to be the matter."

"Chief of Investigation Howlsworth, we've got issues in Karenytenia, riots are overruning the country, and I believe that if the referendum takes place, the communists will either win, or if they don't, they'll fight for it."

"So what do you propose we do?" asked Chief of Investigation Howlsworth.

"As Chief of Investigation, I want you to deploy 3 agents to look at the referendums, see how things are doing, and see if everything is okay. Chief of Armed Forces George, if the referendums go commie, I want you to blockade Karenytenia, we can't afford any more communist dictatorships."

9th April, 2012
Kanal 5 closes down

Karenytenian private television station Kanal 5 has shut down today its broadcasts. It happens that the journalist Symanu Lyerelyn, has said the following during the 20:00 news programme (after switching from the two journalists who were Yanu Nyevelyn and Adryana Yelana to himself):

"The situation in Karenytenia has been seen throughout the world and we have seen the facts behind the new government who took power after the coup d'état 5 days ago. And now, we are getting reports that the Kanal 5 building has been seized by the police; the director-general of Kanal 5, Karlu Velosa, has been captured by the police; we don't know what's happening with him. I don't know what's happening outside the building and I don't know what's happening in the control room; all we know is that we have an extremely difficult situation. It seems that the police is besieging the building to force us to close the channel; we believe the new government is violating the rights and freedoms of the people, which means that we are under a dictatorship regime. I personally believe that the situation won't get any better. Now, the police is entering our studio and I want to say thank you for accompanying us. I hope nobody gets injured; we hope we see you later. Thank you for watching Kanal 5."

Then, the control room progressively shuts down the lights of the news studio. Around two minutes later, the screen went entirely black: Kanal 5 has just shut down.

9th April, 2012

Karenytenian channel closes down

Private Karenytenian television station Kanal 5 shuts down due to police storming in the station's building

During the 20:00 news programme on Karenytenian private television station Kanal 5, the journalist Symanu Lyerelyn said the following after switching from the newsreaders who were presenting the bulletin, Yanu Nyevelyn and Adryana Yelana:

The control room progressively shut down the lights of Kanal 5's news studio, and within around two minutes the screen went entirely black, meaning the end of Kanal 5.

The current government of Karenytenia has ruled the country since 4th April's coup d'état and the referendum was considered by many to be fraudulent despite Yarel Vyerelyn's claims that it represented the "democratic will of the Karenytenians." Many consider that the situation in Karenytenia is going to be the same as in Hippostania and in Luziyca. They also believe that Karenytenia is turning itself from a free country to an authoritarian one despite Vyerelyn's claims of "more freedom than ever" in Karenytenia.

An Iglesian political commentator, Yana Kyelyna, said that "The closedown of Kanal 5 means that something is happening in Karenytenia which is not going well, with me considering personally that the new regime is making Karenytenia a dictatorship as the increasingly repressive government is cracking down on protesters who are demonstrating against the new government ruling the country with an iron fist."

Many people believe that the closedown of Kanal 5 is one of the signs of censorship in a country which many believe to be now under an oppressive government.

Kanal 3 Reports on the Situation in Karenytenia

"Good evening. I am Setulu Akrochali, and tonight, I am going to report on Karenytenia and it's coup d'etat. Today, Kanal 5 in Karenytenia was forced to shut down, due to accusations that the station was communist by President Yarel. Indeed, this coup d'etat there seems to echo the Yellow Revolution (Inyesulan Creole: ബഗതദ ീാനദതഹേബോ, Yilo Revolusya) in 1974 that brought down the last Maharaja, Maharaja Orjori Lakun, who reigned from 1962 to 1974, except it is bringing an Orjori Lakun-like figure, who seeks to corrupt Karenytenia, until it gets so poor that the people bring Yarel out of power. Over to you, Ajor Simayo, who is reporting you live from the Karenytenian-Inyesulan Friendship Bridge over the Sijapura River."

"Thank you, Setulu. I am reporting, live in front of the border crossing on the Karenytenian side. As many of you know, Orjori Lakun and his father, Maharaja Senju Chamkri Lakun who reigned from 1942 to 1962 were very corrupt, causing Inyesula to grow poorer and poorer. By 1974, its HDI was so low that it was practically how Manuel Agreste, which we call the last Maharaja of Iglesiantis, caused his nation's HDI to plummet. In any case, while Yarel claims true sovereignty, what he really wants, is to soak up every last one of his tochuns up, and then spend it on luxuries, whilst the people of his nation gets poorer and poorer daily. And those that revolt would end up being called communist. Here, while I may get lynched for being a communist, especially due to fond memories of an insurgent movement, the Inyesulan Communist Liberation Front (Inyesulan Creole: ഗലബാേഹതഗ കദസസഹലോ തഗവീോബോേബഗദനഗ ോകീദമപഗ, Inyesuli Kommuna Librayasyiovi Akrochi) that existed from 1957 to 1989, it is legal to follow and illegal to lynch. It seems, within 20 years, Maharaja Yarel would probably end up being toppled, and then having his head on a pike, just like our last Maharaja, Ojori Lakun ended up, a head on a pike at the National Square, formerly the Royal Square. From the Karenytenian-Inyesulan border, back to you, Setulu."

"Thank you, Ajor. Now, onto Sports..."

"Live out of the Ainin Broadcasting Centre, this is ABC News. I'm Shannon Jones in Forestia, and this is ABC News. Today's main story: Censorship of the media. Karenyteria takes one more step, or more like a huge leap, towards dictatorship. A private Karenyterian television news channel named Kanal 5 has been shut down after the anchor had said the following on live television:
"The situation in Karenytenia has been seen throughout the world and we have seen the facts behind the new government who took power after the coup d'état 5 days ago. And now, we are getting reports that the Kanal 5 building has been seized by the police; the director-general of Kanal 5, Karlu Velosa, has been captured by the police; we don't know what's happening with him. I don't know what's happening outside the building and I don't know what's happening in the control room; all we know is that we have an extremely difficult situation. I personally believe that the situation won't get any better. Now, the police is entering our studio and I want to say thank you for accompanying us. I hope nobody gets injured; we hope we see you later. Thank you for watching Kanal 5."
When asked about this, Aininian President Harold Brown took out a peanut from his pocket and wrote "DEMOCRACY" on it. Then he took out a hammer with the words "LUZIYCA & KARENYTERIA" written on it and smashed the peanut with it. Then he made this comment:
"This is what is happening in Karenyteria and we cannot condone that. The Republic of Ainin hereby condemns the new dictatorship in Karenyteria and hereby re-condemns for the 4th time the Christian Republic of Hippos... eh... I meant Naziy... eh... Oh! You know who I mean!"

Coup d'état in Karenytenia

Yarela Vyeryn on 17/20 on 9th April, 2012:

"Government oppression, police brutality, fascist dictatorship: these are all lies created by the Iglesian government. Karenytenia is in fact far freer than before 4th April, since before that date Karenytenia was an Iglesian-backed communist dictatorship. Let's see how much the situation goes, since this so-called «police brutality» was justified and necessary. Those communist rioters intended to harm and destroy property and so they had to be cracked down. Now all I suggest is that Karenytenia should annex its southeastern neighbour Inyesula, since it has been ruled by a communist dictatorship since 1974. About Iglesiantis, it should really have a new Agreste to protect us from the red menace. The red threat wants to destroy our freedoms! And why is this happening? Because of the corrupt communist governments ruling the country since the Blue, or better, Red Revolution which happened in 1917, when we began to be ruled by the commies wishing to destroy Iglesiantis! Also, Kanal 5, which was shut down today, was rightfully shut down as it showed freedom-hating communist propaganda! Why is this happening? Because those freedom-hating commies had ruled Karenytenia for 35 years! 35 long years, imagine! That's why we should fight for our freedom! We should fight against the red threat! Always! And that referendum which happened yesterday was free and fair like Yarel Vyerelyn said! I wish good luck to him and I hope he stays in power ruling his new democratic regime."

Protests calling for restoration of Kanal 5 end with riots

In Nalyvena, there has been a demonstration of around 1 million people calling for restoration of closed down Kanal 5 at around 9:00pm (Nalyvena time). However, the protests were being watched closely by the police and the military, who at around one hour after the beginning of the protests were sending tear gas and water cannons to the crowd who was protesting for restoration of the channel.

The police and the military accused the protesters of "inciting to revolt." However, many demonstrators said that they were just protesting. The riots caused more than 300 deaths, 300 injuries and 600 detentions.

65 people attempted to flee to Inyesula

At the Karenytenian-Inyesulan border, 65 people attempted to cross the border today, but 20 of them have been killed and the other 45 were detained. The open border policy was abandoned following 4th April's coup d'état, and since then there have been reports of people being killed or detained while crossing the Karenytenian borders, mainly to Inyesula (which borders Karenytenia to the southeast) and Ebycene (which borders Karenytenia to the east and the northeast). In the picture above, Inyesula is on the left side, whereas to the right side is Karenytenia.

The Minster of Foreign Affairs and the Prime Minister were admitted to the office of HRM Andrew III the King had just gotten off the phone with the Admiralty, the MC82 Illusions had arrived and apparently the King was needed at least that is what the phone conversation said.. The manservant went in and announced the two ministers. The man came back and said the two ministers could enter. This they did, the King was standing and looking out the window, hearing the two men enter he swiveled away from the window he stood gazing out of. He turned back to the two ministers and bade them to be seated. "Well nobody comes into my office wanting an audience without a good reason, sit down and tell me what I may do" The King assumed a seat behind the desk. The PM spoke first, "Your majesty we have heard of a situation, it is on the news." The PM picked up a remote and on the TV on the office wall showed scenes what seemed to the Kings eyes to be a war waiting to happen, The King looked at the foreign Minister, "Danny what are our options". This inquiry was met with a sheet of paper slid across the desk. "Ok it is their dependency ill write the people over there."

Lyeryna, Karenytenia

Meanwhile, seven agents, all of Iglesian ethnicity, from the IFA (Inyesulan Foreign Agency) that had been stationed there for quite some time finally pulled a move. That was meant to be a rebellion.

Indeed, their first stop was the local city hall, to DEPOSE the Mayor, and place one of their own agents, or a Diana Melo-esque hero. Immediately, when they entered, they began to look for the mayor, well; six of them, the other was sent to his residence to look for the mayor.

However, the Karenytenian police and military branches in Lyeryna reacted to the situation immediately and sent troops to detain the IFA agents.
