The Foreign Affairs Ministry, The Ancient Capital of Krytopia
The Ancient Empire of Kylarnatia, Gholgoth
10:11am Local Time (GMT+8)

On the western side of Krytopia was the Government District, where the various office's of the many government departments stood high and tall, casting shadows of authority over passers by. One such building was the Foreign Affairs Ministry, where all the affairs concerning the outside world were looked over, and were done so in departments judged on if it concerned the Imperium directly or no, and how sevre the situation was. In the head office would be the Secretary of Foreign Affairs with his/her staff, where they'd recieve files on affairs that were most important and if they found them of high importance, they would be taken before the Tsarina at the Fangthane Palace, over the other side of the capital.

A neatly folded note sat on top of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs desk. The secretary in question was High Lady Lillian Bridon, who was also Head Advisor to the Tsarina and Speaker in the Imperial Court. Her job was a big and heavy one. Sitting there, she had not taken notice of it for some time as it wasn't as outstanding as the many files that sat alongside it. Though it did not take her long to pick it up and open it to observe its message, the morning sunlight coming through the open window and lighting up the room around her. She pulled an awkward face towards the message, raising and eyebrow also.

For the Desk of High Lady Lillian Bridon

It has been decided by the department, that trade talks with the United Kingdom of Bristain and Ireland are in good interests. We advise to Honourable Lady to inform their foreign affairs office, and allow them to formally open talks.

"Why is this on my desk?" Was her immediate thought. She didn't feel it wasn't important, but in her mind it wasn't of the upmost importance that she be informed about it. Surely they had a department where they could organise this without pesturing her about it. Sighing, she turned on the computer that sat on an extension of her desk. The desk itself was a semi-circular shape in the center of her office, with the forward facing piece stacked with all her documents, the window facing piece holding her computer and her wall facing piece stacked with all her things and equipment. With the screen now buzzing to life, she began to type a digitally-secure message.

Foreign Affairs Ministry, London, United Kingdom of Great Bristain and Ireland

Henry Fitzmaurice, the Marquess of Landsowne and Foreign Affairs Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Bristain and Ireland, read the approval letter from the Kylarnatian Foreign Affairs Ministry. Lord Landsowne was pleased. Several weeks ago, he had filed an application with the Kylarnatian Government on the matter of trade negotiations between the United Kingdom and the Ancient Empire. He was pleased that his request was finally approved. The Marquess then took up pen and paper and wrote the following letter to the Kylarnatian Foreign Affairs Ministry:

To: The Right Honorable Lady Lillian Bridon, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Ancient Empire of Kylarnatia
From: His Grace The Marquess of Landsowne, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Bristain and Ireland

Honorable madame,

I am pleased that my request for trade negotiations with your honorable nation has been approved. For the matter of negotiations, His Grace Harold Vicksford, 1st Baron Vicksford, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Kylarnatian Government, shall attend the negotiations. I myself cannot, as I am busy with other matters of state. In the negotiations, the Ambassador shall present our views, give you brief explanation about the economy of the British Empire, and will hopefully work over other matters. He will arrive as soon as possible.

Signed,

It was the next day, when things were being organised. One of the conference rooms within the Foreign Affairs Ministry, as promised, was being prepared for negotiations between Kylarnatia and the United Kingdom. It was given a swift clean, the flags of both nations were placed on both sides of the room in rows. Computers were layed out for both delegations on both sides of the oval pinewood and glass table that was in the center of the room. A huge 48" Television Screen was bolted onto the wall at one end of the room, on the Kylarnatian Imperial News 24/7 Channel. Everything was as standard, something Kylarnatians always liked to keep too, in any situation.

"So, he should know, yes?" A middle-aged man in a grey suit and red tie sat on one side of the table. His chesnut eyes looked over the aides that also sat with him in a row around that side of the table, the sunlight coming through the windows and onto their backs. "Yes, ambassador, I assure you. A message was delivered this morning, and I'm sure he was also informed by his government." One of the aides tried to reassure the ambassador. Ambassador Derek Dike was a classy man, but could be very arguementative and impatient. Scoffing, Derek stood up and went over to a small mini bar that had been set up for the day. Pulling a bottle of Cozzkian Vodka from the ice and a smooth glass from the cuboard, he poured himself a shot. His aides looked on, a bit cautious of what his drinking habits might be.

"I hope he does turn up soon. Would be a shame for us to drink all the vodka and brandy." He looked to his aides and chuckled, raising his glass to them before gulping it down and getting a second shot. "Oh dear..." Was the thought in all the aides minds.

Meanwhile, a message had been sent, along with transport, for the Bristain Ambassador to his embassy. Hopefully, he would arrive soon.

Harold Vicksford, the 1st Baron Vicksford, was approaching the meeting room. The Ambassador was accompanied by two bodyguards and a aide. Vicksford was a relatively tall figure (for a British man), standing at 6 feet 7 inches. He towered over both his bodyguards and over the aide. Despite this, he was a kind and jolly figure, who always liked a good conversation and was also liberal about alcohol. In any case, Vicksford looked at his watch and said "Time for the negotiations" He then entered the room and noticed Ambassador Dike. He went over and said, in a jolly voice, tempered by his Yorkshire ascent "Ambassador Dike, it is a great pleasure to see you again!" He then extended his hand for a handshake. Vicksford knew that Dike was an impatient man, for he had dealt with him before, but he still tried to act kind so as to garner some favor.

"Harold..." Derek extended his arm to Harold, allowing them to shake hands. In true Kylarnatian fashion he smiled in exchange, something he'd be taught to do to foreigners at a young age let alone by the ministry when they first hired him. Harold was indeed a tall man, but still was not matchable to the average male height in Kylarnatia, 7'1". Derek was right on the average. "I hope our set-up is to your standards, ambassador. The High Lady wished to make up for the long wait you had while this was being confirmed. Would you and your group like some drinks?" He asked as he gestured to the drinks cabinet.

"Once you're settled, please sit on this side of the table and make yourselves comfortable. We've put the Kylarnatian Imperial News channel on the TV at the moment, but please let us know if you would perfer it off." Derek commented as he left the Bristainians to there own devices for that moment while he rejoined his aides on his side of the table.

"I thank you for your hospitality, Sir", Ambassador Vicksford said to Dike. He went over to where the drinks were and poured himself a cup of brandy. His aide poured himself a cup of champagne. The bodyguards did not however, for they were not allowed to drink alcohol while they were on duty. In any case, Vicksford sat on the proper side of the table, as did his aide. The bodyguards remained standing, however, in order to insure the safety of the Ambassador and others in the room. In any case, Vicksford took a sip of his brandy and then said "Ambassador Dike, will the honorable Lady be coming down soon?"

Derek quickly shot looks to his advisors, though not at an alarming pace. He then looked over to Ambassador Harold, "I was...not informed of any participation by the High Lady in this meeting. However, if you'd prefer it, we can go and see if she is avalible later. At the moment, she is with the Caesar in the Imperial Court assessing the situation in the Crown Dependency..." Derek pointed towards the screen that played the news channel, and on it a reporter reported of the 47,000 infected citizens in Tiami, one of the Crown Dependencies of the empire. Derek and his aides really wished they could have avoided bringing that up in discussion.

"Now, where would you like to begin?"

Ambassador Vicksford simply nodded. After taking another sip of his drink, he sighed and then said "Well, honorable Sir, we can possibly start with the exchange of information with each other about our respective countries. Although I have been Ambassador here for 2 years now, it is required of British diplomatic procedure to exchange proper national information...So first of all Sir, would you mind giving a brief description of your country?"

"Screw your procedure, you're in Kylarnatia now. You should know enough about our country to--"

Derek stopped overthinking the situation as he knew that it was delaying his time to respond. He cracked a smile, though he didn't know if it would be very reassuring or not. "Well, sir, Kylarnatia as you know is located in the North of Gholgoth and therefore is a member of the Gothic Regional Alliance. We are ruled by the Absolute Monarch, Tsarina Silvier IV, who we first address as our 'Caesar'. Her government is in two, the upper house being the Imperial Court, a coalition of advisors who each take a specific role and ministry. Then there's the Peoples Court, which the populace elect representatives to, and the Peoples Court passes on the demands of the populace to the Imperial Court."

He stopped for a short while, then continued. "You could say we have a very mixed climate, having very warm summers and sometimes, bitterly cold winters. Though that doesn't stop our master workforce, who're head strong and able to cope with heavy demand, but what we deal in, we'll come to shortly. The government focuses the budget on three main areas: Defence, Social Welfare and Law and Order. Finally, the Imperium Antiquum forces specialise in Maritime and Land Force Strength, along with Special Forces. However, we do also prefer Diplomacy before jumping into the fire. Is there anything you think I missed? If not, please talk about the United Kingdom."

Derek still wore the same cracked smile. He, as a person, really couldn't care for talks with the United Kingdom, as in his opinion they were not a high priority, though his superiors seemed to believe differently.

Vicksford detected that Derek loathed his question and had intentionally delayed a response. But he decided to overlook it, and after respectfully hearing what Derek, Vicksford spoke up "Honorable Sir, if you are to look at these reports you will find a great deal of information about the United Kingdom." Vicksford then handed Derek several reports, about the United Kingdom, the Royal Armed Forces, and the British Empire. "To give you an overview, Sir, the United Kingdom of Great Bristain and Ireland has a population of 489 million people, is a constitutional monarchy, and controls a network of colonies, dependencies, protectorates, and concessions around the world."

Derek did not take long to look over the reports, as there was just too much information put into them for them to be read right that moment by himself alone. However, he did pass them along to his aides after skimming through the three of them, his aides beginning to read them in more detail, also making notes. One of his aides was actually making notes of all things said throughout the discussions, for archive purposes. That, and incase they were needed for any form of proof in the future.

"I hope it is alright, my aides taking the reports. If you need them back, don't hesitate to say." Derek had let go of his smile a few moments ago, and talked now with a simple face. Though it was tired, really tired.

"Before we go into the details about trade, intel gained by the Foreign Affairs Ministry informed us that the United Kingdom participated in a conflict recently. Sir, could you care to give me a quick overview of what that was?" Kylarnatia had strict regulations on trading and negotiating with countries in the middle of conflict, especially with those Kylarnatia related themselves with. If it was true, Derek would save himself an entire day of talks. Depending on the conditions of the conflict, however.

[OOC: I'm certain I saw your name tagged in a conflict thread not long ago. If that's not true, just ignore the last paragraph.]
