Lady Starlights School of Pony Magic

Lady Holiday Starlight is well known through out the pony only colony of Tres Beau, mainly because she is the current Prime Minister. But also she has for several years ran and operated a small School of Pony Magic on a small island called Isla de Harmony. There she has teached and trained over 56 young ponyists over the span of five years.
She now is opening up her school doors for the rest of the pony world.

Housing
Housing for our students is very important, both for their well being and social health. Students live on the main campus grounds but separate from the school its self. Each house is located on a certain road named from one of the six principles of Ponyism, Honesty, Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Loyalty and Magic. Six roads, six houses.
Each house can room 30 students both male and female. However though in order so that there is none unwarranted activities, around each room a special spell was cast to prevent some pony of the opposite sex from entering the rooms.

Dr. Starlight stood in her office on the top floor of the castle in which the school was located in, standing next to the window she could see the whole school grounds ans the nearby village that was owned by the school. The village was simply named Harmony, in it contained homes for the teachers, several small shops for basic needs, a small clinic and a little post office. At the end of the small street that majority of the village is located on is a large house on the shore, that was Starlights home where every Christmas she hosted a school wide Christmas Party everyone in the Pony and human world is invited. Christmas has and will forever be her favorite time of year.
Starlight moved away from the window to her desk to get out some old heavy books that dated back to the mid 1600s, in them where thousands of spells she'd teach her students, of course she started with small basic simple spells, like turning a pen into a leaf or bug. During Christmas time she'd get out her Holiday spells that could turn anything from a frog to a small leaf into something very beautiful for Christmas.
"Ahh yes, start of a new school year attendance looks very promising this year. We are already up from last year from 150 students to 176. I have one international student thus far and hope for many more. Young ponies magical or not should know how to use their powers properly, for magical one's they need to know that dark magic exists and why I at lest forbid it's use. For the non-magical earth ponies they can learn how to use special spell beeds to ether defend them selves or do many other magical things."
Starlight spread out some white powder in a circle on the stone floor, an said "to the village center" she vanished from the room and re-appeared in the village center, new students had very surprised looks on their young faces and smiled. Starlight simply walked past them into one of the shops.

"Ah, Dr. Starlight, how are you doing on this fine day?" the shop keeper said smiling, "Oh you're holiday peppermint flavor bread is arrived today."
Starlight smiled, "thanks" she turns to leave, "Oh Alford can you send my letter to the Head of Magic in Tres Beau City much appreciated." Starlight left the store and back into the village center. In the center of the village was a old water well that many new students always wondered what was at the bottom of it, and just like every new year there they were new students looking down the old well trying to see the bottom. Starlight smiled and left for her own home at the end of the small street.

Mr. Twinkle one of the few teachers was in his class room a small 15 desk room that for now is bare and empty, unlike Starlight he was what is called an Earth Pony he has no magical ability he can't do spells the why do some ponies think does he teach magic? Well Mr. Twinkle buys special spell beeds that help him to teach others. There standing behind his desk he over looks the room, pulling out of his desk draw is three spell beeds he trows them onto the room and the room is changed into all the colors of the rainbow with pictures of magic and young ponies looking happy doing their homework and learning magic.
Smiling he walks around the room, "Yes. This looks nice, just the way I want it to look." Holding one of the books he'll be giving out to the students, he brushes his hove over the cover, "The Magic of Harmony, mmm nothing better than a new textbook". He lays it back down on the desk and walks to the door. Right when he opened it up the door he was surprised to see Starlight standing there. "OH! Dr. Starlight, umm you surprised me."

Starlight smiled slightly, "Mr. Twinkle I just stopped by to see how your room looks. Ah I see you had no trouble with the beeds. Because i've been trying out the new ones that were shipped and none of them work, why does your's work?"

"Well those are left over from last year, I don't use them much during the summer unless I really need to. I suppose you'd like to have one to see what's wrong with the others."

"You knew that is what I was about to ask, well yes then. I'm worried because the first day of the new school year is about to start and I want the new un-magical ponies to get the same practice.

They both walk over to Mr. Twinkles desk, he takes one out of a large bag full of them and hands it to Starlight, "Yes..yes. I see what's wrong they forgot to add one thing to them. Something I can take care of myself, thanks Mr. Twinkle." Starlights walks out.

Lady Starlight was forced to shutdown the school for the past few months over boundary issues with the Tres Beau Ministry of Land, that believed that she had violated a law that forbid any pony from owning land that belonged to the ancient Tikinila tribe, whom's land starts just thirty feet from the end of the island. Now since the school is back open after that frustrating debacle Starlight was humming happily finding out a few new students would be transferring to her school, since enrollment had dropped from last years 39 to only 17 this year, which forced her to lay off five staff members. Starlight walked up to her mirror which monitored the school grounds to see if there were any trouble makers causing trouble. In the village square next to the old well two young boys were causing troubles with a sweet little girl whom looked new to the school, Starlight sprinkled her dust and traveled to the village square.

A small filly was escorted onto the island by an older Earth
"Blackberry, it's high time you started taking magic lessons, and the best way to learn will be here at this School of Pony Magic, Blueberry and Raspberry have already paid the fees to get you in." Grandma Berrypatch told her when they arrived.
" I don't want to go here. I want to be home!" Blackberry said angrily, stomping her little hoof on the ground.
" It's not safe at home, You'll learn magic here while we get everything sorted out back there." Grandma Berrypatch said comfortingly, looking for somepony to pass the upset little filly onto.

Starlight appeared in the village square annoyed at the two boys, "Now you two leave this girl alone you here me, I don't your first few days to start off badly, now please give her bag back, thank you.". Starlight was ready to go back to her office when she noticed a cute little pony, with what looked like her grandmother.
Starlight walked up to the the two casually, and properly introduce her self to them, with a bright smile, Hello there, I am Lady Starlight, the Head Master and founder of this school, you look a little lost may I help you?".

[Hobbiest Republic]

" Lady Starlight we were just looking for you, or someone to show Blackberry where she'll be staying while she's at the school." Grandma Berrypatch said creakily.
" I don't wanna go to school, I want to meet Mommy!" Blackberry said stomping again, tears forming in her eyes.
" She's about the age that my son Blueberry went to school, the school he went to, unfortunately burned to the ground recently. We were happy that Blackberry could study here." Grandma Berrypatch continued, ignoring the furious filly.

"Well I am very pleased that you choose this school, each student is treated very well, now if you wish to also I can take you on a tour of the island quickly before you leave."
Starlight turns to Blackberry, "Now Blackberry I can understand that you wish to see your mother, however though you should respect your grandmothers wishes. You will learn many things at this school, how to fly even if you don't have wings, how to teleport to other places. Plus inside the schools main office we have a very special mirror that anytime you need you can see and speak to whom ever you'd like."

Behind Starlight a large dark pony appeared in brown clothing, grumpily walking towards starlight, "Starlight to remind you keep these future trouble makers away from the church cemetery" then he walks away grumbling.

Starlight rolls her eyes, "Sorry about that, that is Cleric Shadow he is the head of the Church of Luna on the island."

[Hobbiest Republic]

" A church of our dark lady you say? Perhaps I should have a word with your cleric before I leave, it's been ages since I've heard a good sermon in her name. As for the tour, I suppose a few more minutes couldn't hurt." Grandma Berrypatch said.

The little filly seemed about to protest further, but she sniffles quietly after a stern look from her grandmother and a bump to her flank. " Yes, ma'am."

" She's always going on about her mother, she's never met her you see. I suppose when we left the country she thought that we were going to meet her." Grandma Berrypatch noted, leaning in closer to Lady Starlight to whisper conspiratorially, " Her mother didn't feel as though little Blackberry should know her. Raspberry believed that she would be a bad influence, and I agree with her decision. It would be best to keep the two of them from meeting except as strangers."

The church is off limits to any of the students and the small village of Lunaton, I fully believe that more than worshiping Luna is going on in their. However though to make you feel better Celesta United is up the hill back there right before you get to the school it self, we'll be going past it soon.

Starlight bent down towards Blackberry and now understood more about her situation, Blackberry if it means anything, you are very lucky to at lest have a living mother even if you've never seen her, you see when I was born my mother died in childbirth, I never got to know her. looking at the grandmother, But I herd about stories how she is the most famous wizard that you've never herd of. Well lets go into town, the docks may look nice, but don't smell nice. Starlight walks them into the village square, "this small village here is called Harmony City, even though it only has a year round population of 78. The city was founded in the early 1400s by my ancestors. Right here in the square we have a general store, post office and a magic shop, for books and other things." She points at the old well, laughing "that there is the old well, it was before modern times the sole source of fresh water for the island, new students are teased by the older one's daring them to sit on it, because if they would fall they'd keep falling, not to worry if you mange to fall you'd fall only a foot."

" Needless to say, with such a small city how do your staff keep up with the needs of the students? I imagine your school is quite busy educating the youth of tomorrow." Grandma Berrypatch said carefully. " I've always been able to manage without your fancy magic and whatnot, but Grandpa Himalaya figures a unicorn without magic is like a three legged Earth Pony, so we'll have our granddaughter learn the best magic she can."
Blackberry was obediently following them as the tour progressed soaking in her surroundings. Quiet determination replacing her tantrum.

"well with magic, out of the seven teachers we have in total only three live here on the island at all times, inside the school there is a portal that can take those who know how to use it any where in a matter of seconds, plus those who have never used magic wouldn't know of the many wonders we can do." Starlight continued the tour walking down to the end of the main street to a large stone house. "this large home is where I live year round, anytime anyone has a question i'm normally available". walking onto another path she takes them past Luna Rd stopping shortly, "This path leads to Lunaton, the whole village is off limits to any student, dark magic is practiced in that village and any student caught in that village will be punished to an extent." Looking around that part of the island, "it is amazing though on a island of this size about, 80 acres in total, that good and dark magic would nearly coexist together."

Grandma Berrypatch begins to understand that Celestia has penultimate sway over this island, and that it is not simply 'dark' magic being practiced. But the unspoken 'evil' that Lady Starlight implied. She keeps her mouth shut as the tour continues. She especially notes the 'nearly coexist' that Lady Starlight mentions.

" Well since you're the... Headmaster of the school, I'll turn Blackberry over to you." Grandma Berrypatch said to Lady Starlight before turning to Blackberry " Do what the nice head master tells you to do. Grandpa and I will expect to see lots of progress when we come to visit."

With that Grandma Berrypatch began to totter off thoughtfully to the docks where the ship she'd hired from the Republic was moored.

Starlight smiled at Blackberry, "well I'll show you your room, Freshmen dorms are at the top floor of the school, since your shy that I can see here." Starlight sprinkles some of her dust around the two and says a few words and they both suddenly appear on the top floor, Starlight smiles and walks into one of the rooms, This dorm is called Friendship, when I went here when I was little I stayed in this dorm, now as the Head Master I'm very busy, but this is Pinky, she will be your helper. Starlight leaves the room.

Pinky could tell right away that Blackberry was a little shy, Hi I'm Pinky, this is my second year here and you'll get to know the place very well. This large room here is the Together room where ponys of both genders can mingle together, but we can't go into each others rooms, as Lady Starlight placed a spell over each room which boys can't go into us girls rooms and vic versa. Pinky takes Blackberry up to their room, with a wave of her hoof the massive lavender currents open revealing a beautiful view of Harmony City and Lunaton, the sun was shining reflecting off of the Shimmery Sea that separated the island from the mainland. Pinky walks over to one of the beds each was neatly made and the sheets were cream, red, lavender and hot pink, The bed sheets represent the school colors." Pinky sat down on one of the beds, and asked, Tell me about your self, so I can get to know you a little better"

" Thank you miss Lady Starlight." Blackberry said as the door closed.
She looked at Pinky, following the more experienced student to one of the beds.
" I'm Blackberry, Blackberry Revival. I come from a far away place called 'the Republic'. It has a longer name but it's hard to remember and pronounce. My grandparents raised me on their farm away from the city. But from time to time my dad, Blueberry, would be visiting the capital from his job in another country. I think he's an ambassador but I don't know what fish and doors have to do with going to other countries... Dad's different from Gramdma and Grampa he's a unicorn like me. They don't like talking about my mommy though. The only thing grandma ever says is that she's a good for nothing and is doing the right thing by staying away from me. I've never met a pony so bad that my Grandparents wouldn't even let them near me... So why's mommy not allowed to see me? Or I, her?" Blackberry said, spilling her little heart out to Pinky. As she spoke her eyes lingered on Lunaton seeing the church of Luna forbidden to her, her home church distorted into an institute of evil and darkness. She forced herself to look at the rest of Harmony City and the building that contained Celesta United.

Pinky taken back at this, sighs then gets up and walks towards the door, "now If you really want to see something cool, follow me." she walks to the end of the hallway, where it looks like a solid brick wall, Pinky pushes one brick and the wall moves aside, This leads up to the bell tower, from there you can get a 360 view of the entire island , plus it's the only area in which students can get into the forbidden Lunaton." She leads Blackberry up to the bell tower, the spiral stairway leading up, is long and a little dark. Once at the top the view is breath taking, the wind breezing through her mane, Pinky opens a wooden door under one of the bells, After you're done with this, come down through here, this is a corridor, that runs between the walls of the school, and takes us right to Lunaton."

Blackberry followed Pinky through the opening. Once on the bell tower, she enjoyed the spectacular view for some time. thinking about home and what the Headmaster had said.

" It can't be so bad to go to Lunaton if Pinky knows a way in. And Lady Starlight wouldn't have put me with her if it was that dangerous anyway." Blackberry said to herself, following Pinky towards Lunaton.

" Are you sure about this? I mean, the Lady Starlight said students weren't allowed in Lunaton. Why is it forbidden? Luna isn't bad, she isn't even evil, not since the Heroes of Harmony saved her from Nightmare Moon, right?" Blackberry asked Pinky.

Pinky ponders the question for a few seconds, "Well I have no idea why Lady Starlight forbids students going to Lunaton, I don't find the place scary, and my family are big time followers of Celesta, matter of fact my Uncle is the Pastor here at Celesta United." In the distance a light appears and a small reddish, earth pony appears which is Mr. Twinkle he appears a bit annoyed to see Pinky, leading one of the new students towards Lunaton.

Sternly, Pinky what in goods name think you are doing, leading one of the new students to Lunaton? You're lucky that I stoped you before you got in bigger trouble with the Head Master, you know Lady Starlight has forbidden students from entering Lunaton."

Pinky lowers her head, "Sorry sir, but."

"No buts" He draws the wall with some chalk into the shape of a door and draws a circle for a handle, "You're lucky today is the first day of school, and the fact your behind my classroom wall." He pushes on the stone, and it opens like a door into his classroom. "Pinky i'm giving you a stern warning one more you're in detention, and since it's Blackberrys first day you have just a warning." Mr. Twinkle shuts the stone wall and motions for the two to leave.

Pinky shrugs,"well there goes that idea, I guess Mr. Twinkle monitors that corridor, anyhow you have your first class soon with Starlight, she teachers the Basics of Pony Magic the room isn't hard to find it's on the first floor next to her office."

" I guess I'll see you later?" Blackberry said to Pinky as she walked through the Mr. Twinkle's classroom and went to her own.

While she'd been nervous about getting caught, Blackberry was increasingly curious about Lunaton. The kind of allure that can only be present when something is forbidden. Had the headmistress not said anything about Lunaton she may not have given the town much thought.

She peeked into the room that Pinky had described to see if the rest of the class was already there. When a young colt came up behind her.

" What're you doing out here? It's not like class has started yet. You still have time to find a seat." He said almost bumping into her.

" I, uh... I'm new here. I don't know the scheduling quite yet...so I was checking to see if it had already started."she said.

" You don't need to worry about it so much for the first week, it's the rest of the term that you have to worry about, because you're expected to get the timing down for the first week."

" Oh, I almost forgot to introduce myself. I'm Blackberry. Blackberry Revival." She said to him as she walked into the classroom which was filling up with other ponies.

" The name's, Leon Broadroot. Parents insisted on non-traditional naming." He said politely walking in behind her.

Lady Starlight in the back of the classroom was gathering all the books that were needed, of course she wasn't carrying them, they sat on a small oak table waiting to be cast to each student. She walks out and rings a small gold bell sitting on her desk, "Okay everypony take a seat please." She waits till every one took a seat to start, "My name is Dr. Lady Starlight, if you don't know who I am, i'm the Head Master of this school, which I have taught at for 15 years now. For this school year in this class you'll learn what every pony needs to know about your magic and the special abilities you have. Each of you will need a text book." She flips her hoof and the textbooks for that class float out of the closet onto each desk.
"Now what you saw is some of the basics, making any object hover is simple and by the end of today you'll be able to make anything you want, that isn't living float and hover. Now at your book, tell it to turn to page three."

One small earth pony in the back raised his hoof, Dr. Starlight, I'm only an earth pony, I have no powers."

Starlight smiled, "You know every pony has some powers you just don't know it or have been told you don't. This being basics even an earth pony like your self can do some things, but others you'll need help with."

"Allright Karl, Alkoul is a nice place with nice people with a beautiful school that takes ponies." A Archmage said while they were riding a giant skyship.
"Got it, nothing like home" Karl said with a sigh.
"Karl, we are leaving you here because you need to be with your own kind. If you get a education back home the rest of the world will see you as a barbarian. We at the orphanage want you to be a great pony. We don't want you to turn into a barbarian."
"But why here? There are schools in Sanctuaria that are closer to Hoxha." Karl said with a thought.
"The school for ponies there has a high dropout rate and does not teach magic."
"Yeah, but I am going to miss you, Archmage." Karl said sadly.
"I have taught you enough Saiyan and Human magic. You need to socialize with your fellow ponies. Being around us for too long will kill your heritage."

The Skyship docked with a whoosh! and Karl was dropped outside the school.
"Be a good little pony."
Karl waved his hoof goodbye and looked for help. He saw a fellow pony and asked the pony a question.
"Where are the classes, if you can be kind enough to help me?" Karl said politely.

Skittles looked at the earthy and sighed, "Follow me, that large castle is where the school is. My name is Skittles this is my fifth year here, what's your name?"

"I am Karl. My pony name is Little, but I prefer Karl, I'm not exactly little for my species. How are you?" Karl smiled. "I have done rune magic before, Is this different?" Karl said nervously, while hoofing the ground.
