Charter

Purpose
The Alliance of Democratic Socialists is an organization founded in direct response to the oppression of workers amongst in the world in economies of all forms and governments of all types, as well as the destruction of the populace's freedoms under their current government.
Goals
The Democratic Socialist Alliance is to be an organization founded to protect the rights of the workers and the democratic freedoms of the people. Freedom is to be granted to all, not simply members of the party. Freedoms are not to be removed or lessened due to perceived "counter-revolutionary" characteristics, and are to be maintained unless proven that these freedoms are actually causing harm to others. Freedom and equality are not to be seen as opposing elements, but as complementary and of equal importance.
Requirements
Your nation must possess a democratic society.
Your nation must guarantee basic rights to workers.
Your nation cannot infringe upon your citizens beliefs for any unjust reason.
Your nation must not discriminate based on beliefs, race, species, gender, sexual orientation, position in society, handicaps, appearance, or any other unjust standard.
Your nation must provide for full freedom of belief, expression, press, assembly, and conscience.
Your nation must provide for at least some of the needs of your less fortunate.
Your nation must allow workers the right to form unions, and protect the rights of said unions.
Your nation must provide basic education to all citizens regardless of race, class, beliefs, gender, sexual orientation, or any other discriminatory basis.
Your nation must secure the right of your citizens to petition, be heard in a free and fair trial by jury, and maintain their privacy.
Your nation must not make groundless accusations against your citizens, instead accepting them as innocent until proven guilty. Likewise, you are to read to them there rights before any arrest or detainment effort.
Your nation must employ transparancy regarding all actions and institutions that occur within your government or similar organization as long as it does not serve a direct threat to your national security.
Your nation shall always seek a diplomatic solution whenever possible before turning to war.

OOC: I have grown disastisfied with the current state of LUNA. The presence of dictatorships and single-party states as well as the fact that often times it only protests when socialists are persecuted against, but is fine if others are. If modifications are made to LUNA, I will join again. In the meantime, I decided it may be appropriate to create an organization dedicated not just to the support of other leftists, but also to the protection of all belief systems, even ones we are opposed to.

We say this knowing their affiliation with MAAPS and their inability to justify their blatant speciesism when confronted by it during the meetings with the Union of Freedom and Equality. We suspect egregious shenanigans from them in the future, and 'tis a matter of safety that they not be accepted. Also we of Crystal Spires would like to inquire about the status of our application and are bewildered by the notice that says we have been accepted, and yet we are not in the member list."
