"As the convoy continues to broil in flames behind him, a Cultist militia member tries to drag himself to his gun.

The men of faith and fire, raised for war.

His hand is stepped on. He looks up to see a Holy Warrior, who then executes him with a downward stab of his Kukri."

A government office building. A man in a suit goes by, flanked by a couple of bodyguards.

Black clad operatives, these men will kill you dead.

Windows shatter as black uniformed men burst into the room, firing with their pistols, killing the target.

In our LA-based fight club, we've assembled a team of doctors, scientists, and military specialists. Each one going to show us the power of these two elite warrior groups.

First we come to the man who is running the tests that these two groups of warriors must pass. Matthew Knox is a well known arms designer in both Lamonian and Lyran circles, with multiple weapons designs to his credit. He is also medically qualified to explain the lethality of each weapon used today.

"While these groups have never met each other to our knowledge, both of them have heavy motivation to win. These groups are also moral opposites, but that has never gotten in the way of their missions. I'd say that we are in for one hell of a match."

Martyn Hill is a military programming specialist, who will gather the data collected by electronic means, and add it to the simulation program by Slytherine studios.

"If Slytherine knew what we were doing with their simulations, they might pitch a fit."

Finally, we come to a Lamonian Berserker. A specialist in Special Operations, we cannot reveal his name, for security reasons. For the purposes of this show, we have assigned him the name, "Bob."

"These groups are both highly motivated, and bring serious firepower to this match. It could really go either way."

The computer will create a true-to-life battle simulation between these two warriors. To prevent a lucky bullet or shell from getting the win, the battle will be a Squad on squad battle, ten men each, run over a thousand times. The winner will be...The Deadliest Warrior.

"From the shadows steps a well-built man in his late fifties. Father-Captain Kailan Olina, hardened combat veteran of more than a dozen declared wars and hundreds of battles, is one of the few Holy Warriors to have ever gone public with any of the secrets of the warrior society that makes up the Holy Warriors."

"The Holy Warriors accept only two outcomes; Victory for the Holy Marsh, or death for the Holy Marsh. All of our power, will, and fates are intertwined with His." He says, fist over chest.

88 SSO's Lorenzo Capri was quick to counter, stating "I dont care what you fight for be it god or some other random bull****. We are better, stronger, faster. We are the deadliest warriors, we will always be. The the Holy Warriors are just a small bump in the road for us."

Standing at the side of the much older and revered Father-Captain is young Corporal Anthony Malak. While not a member of the Holy Warriors, he is an expert in almost all of the weapons used by them and has proven himself on the battlefield, winning the Militia's Highest Honor, the Star of Valor, in the terrifying Siege of Khaska in the Marshite Civil War.

"Our enemies may be legion, they may be armed well, they may be trained fanatically, they may be ravaging beasts, but a Marshite always has the advantage, for He is always on our side. Our opponents are tough and great soldiers, but there is no force deadlier than those supported by the Holy Marsh Himself." The young corporal says lowly, bowing to the Father-Captain at the end.

For more than two thousand years, the Holy Warriors have proven to be the very lifeblood of the Church. These warriors, born into a life of faith and fire, have saved the Church, the State, and some would argue, the region from the vile approach of the vast Cultist armies. Yet whether it was a suicidal assassination attempt on a Cultist general, decades long missions to cut supply lines, operations to seize towns, guerilla campaigns, large-scale combat, or being at the front of the Arch-Bishop's armies during the titanic battles of the Long War, they have served their God with no regret, no quarter, little remorse, and a zeal that is unmatched.

Bruno Veno appears on screen next. "The Holy Warriors, those amateurs? If we destroyed the governmnets of economic and military global powers we can take down these glorified soldiers."

Two elite warrior forces, true special forces of the modern day, face off.

"The fact that I don't know who to root for in this match should speak for itself. Both of these combatant teams have drive, weapons, and leadership. The Holy Warriors spend their lives perfecting their skills; skills which are put to use for the good of the church. The 88 Secret Service Operative kills in order to stay alive, while getting a cash bounty." Matthew Knox sat in the middle chair of the judges' panel, observing all that happened with intense scrutiny.

"The Holy Warriors are born from other Holy Warriors, and have trained every day of their lives since then. They have the stamina, the intelligence, and the will to win." Sitting on the right of the panel, Martyn Hill stares into the camera with the look of a man who is expecting to be entertained, and astounded, all at the same time.

"I have to go with the 88's here. While the Holy Warriors kill for their God, the 88's kill for two more immediate reasons. They kill in order to save their own lives, and they kill for money. I would rather put my trust in the 'kill or die' part of their motivation. 'Bob' takes his seat to the left of the panel, and seems calm, yet ready to slit someone's throat, if the need arises.

Thus it was that the first round of the competition would be close range weaponry, which would first see the two sides use their respective knives (OOC: I decided to have both knives as close range weapons, in order to show off comparable skills with the blade). With a backstage coin toss, it was decided that the 88 Secret Service Operative would go first.

The 88 knife

For such a small knife, the results are sure to amaze.

[Rustika]

Lorenzo stepped up to a platform holding the knife. He had laid it flat on his palm so that the men around him could observe it. He started to give a quick description for the Holy Warriors and the specialists,

"Gentle men, this is the 88 knife, made by arm manufacturing company Lancia, it was designed as a close quarters weapon for operatives who want to perform a silent kill or when your out of ammo. It's weighed at the top, so the knife can be thrown with pin point accuracy in the hands of a skilled assassin. Usually an operative has three or four of these on him, sometimes more if the mission requires several completely silent killings.It is incredibly easy to hide these on your person. Its made of top quality steel and it features holes on the handles in which you slide your fingers through giving you a much more secure feeling when holding the knife and it eliminates the risk of letting the knife slip out of your hand. It can gouge, slash and skin enemies with ease, it can also kill at long range when thrown. If you'll let me demonstrate...."

[Lamoni]

"The set-up for this test is relatively simple. There are four pigs tied to stakes, three of them in a line abreast formation, and one of them ten meters away. This will not only test the ability of the knife to stab, and slash, but also the ability to throw said knife.

In this test, you can just go to town on the targets. Ready?," Matthew Knox stated, " 1..2..3..GO!"

[Rustika]

Lorenzo faced the pig carcasses and waited for the signal to' start. When the signal was given Lorenzo charged the first pig, he tackled it and slip the knife into the pig, he then in one fluid motion slashed the pig at roughly the height of a humans neck. He shoved the pig to' the side before charging and stabbing the second pig in the side repetedly. He swiftly side stepped the pig and approched the last one in a slight curved stabbing it in the center of it stomach and pulled it down wards leaving a huge gash through which some of it intestines spilled out. He lined up with the pig and threw his knife with proffesional accuracy hitting the pig dead center 10 meters away.

[Lamoni]

The judges had been watching intently while Lorenzo had knifed the pigs. Examining the wounds, the experts were quick to come to a conclusion.

"Each move was quick, and efficient. Given the difficulty of a 1 vs. 3 match, Lorenzo did well. While we are not necessarily testing speed and surprise here, those would be essential on the battlefield, in this sort of situation," Bob stated.

"I have to agree with Bob," Knox continued. "Lorenzo did everything expected of him, and more. I was particularly impressed with the final knife throw. We would have to get back to the computer, but ten gets you twenty that the first three of these pigs would be dead, after that. As for the final one, the knife appears to have been thrown just high and left enough of center to hit the left lung. Internal bleeding into the lung, I think. While this pig would not immediately die, it would eventually have one lung drown in it's own blood. Certainly, this pig would be out of the fight, and would die horribly in a couple of minutes."

Back at the computer, the three looked at the data from the pressure sensors contained in the pig carcasses. This was the territory of the group's computer programmer, Martyn Hill. "This first shot is a clean kill. Lorenzo hit the heart, and did so very efficiently. While the first stab would have killed the target, the swipe to the neck would have sealed the deal. There's a 0% probability of this pig surviving.

Pig 2 has several deep stabs in the side. I would have to assess this as a kill. Quick and clean. Pig 3 might have lived for about three seconds, before the shock finally killed it. The brain would likely not register the death of the body until it died.

As Matthew stated, Pig 4 would have bled into the left lung. Very painful stab, and the pig would have drowned in its own blood in minutes. All targets are down. I doubt that the pigs would have even been able to get a meaningful warning out before they died."

"Is there anything that the two sides want to add to this while we set up the course for the Holy Warriors?" Bob was already motioning to the clean-up crew to switch out the pig targets to ones that had not been used yet.

[Holy Marsh]

"By the time that any strike would have had a chance to land on the first pig, the Holy Warrior has killed him. The 88 needed multiple attacks to kill, the Kukri does not. By the time the 88 Knife can get in range to do anything, a Kukri-armed Holy Warrior has already killed his enemy. That throw, while impressive, did not equal the range of a throw of the Kukri from a Holy Warrior. Like all professional knives, the 88 Knife is good at what it does. The Kukri, however, is superior in every way." The Father-Captain as if extremely bored, petting the Kukri at his side.

[Rustika]

"Really you can throw that thing? I had no idea, it just seems so cumbersome, not so much a weapon as much as a toy."

[Holy Marsh]

"Tell that to the scores of men I have killed with this, those without arms, those who can not have an open-coffin as their head has been removed or cleaved in two, those whose hearts have been destroyed- a Holy Warrior gets his Kukri at six and trains with it the entirety of his life. I would take a Holy Warrior with a Kukri against any ten soldiers of any training with any knife at any skill level. As I said before, the 88 Knife is impressive- the Kukri is superior, as is the user, in every way." The Father-Captain replied, not taking insult to the weapon as much a part of himself as his own flesh and bone as he had become accustomed to arrogance from his enemies.

[Lamoni]

When the pigs had been replaced from the last test, it became time for the next test. On the range now was the Father-Captain.

Kukri
A weapon designed to kill in nasty ways.

"Father-Captain," Knox was saying, "please explain the Kukri to those in the audience who might not have experience with the weapon."

[Holy Marsh]

The Father-Captain unsheathed his Kukri for, perhaps, the hundred-thousandth time and carefully pulled against the tip of his finger without drawing blood.
"Every Holy Warrior is given this weapon at the age of six. We sleep with it, fight with it, carry it with us at all times. It is an extension of our bodies as much as an arm is. I myself have had Alu'nak for over fifty years. The Holy part of the weapon, the part that is shaped and personalized by the warrior who cherishes it throughout life and into death, is the handle. Mine is made of ivory, and is original to the weapon, though other handles may be made from bone, hardwood, and steel. The blade has been replaced- I broke the original steel blade in 1994 in the chest cavity of a commando. The re-made blade is a steel, as opposed to the titanium knives made for the Army. The reasoning is simple; steel is heavier, and allows the knife to come down with much greater force. It is sixteen inches long and weighs 1 pound, ten ounces. Holy Warriors train with this extensively their entire live; before most other militaries begin training, Holy Warriors have mastered the Kukri." The Father-Captain said as he laid bare the Kukri to the testers, showcasing the length, the sharp, deadly edge, and the angled curve and point.

[Lamoni]

Bob approved of the Father-Captain's Kukri. "The Berserkers also make use of this weapon. In fact, it is the first weapon that we must master in training. The Kukri is well-balanced, falls faster on the enemy with more power, and in the hands of one who has mastered the weapon, it can even be thrown. Like the Holy Warriors, the Berserkers also eat, sleep, and go everywhere with this weapon. It is also not just a weapon, we also use it as a survival tool."

Noting that the course was ready again, Bob started the test. "Father-Captain, Ready? 1..2..3..GO!"

[Holy Marsh]

The blade already out, the father-Captain wasted no time in delivering his first strike, a deep cut about three inches in where the neck would be, cutting across, leaving the pig carcass hanging on by a thread. Using the momentum from the strike, he spins around to the next target and as he is now stable, the Kukri moves directly in the opposite direction where it had before. This movement allowed him to easily to cut right through the neck, decapitating the pig.
Free of that pig, the Father-Captain stepped towards the next hanging pig and thrusted once, mightily, into the center mass. As he pulled it out, he spinned and the next strike on the pig was from the side, the entire lenth of the Kukri cutting through the pig across the chest. Hand now slick with pig guts, he was reminded of the times he had trained near the ocean- and as he spinned around again, he pulled his Kukri out, held it by the blade-end, stepped and threw his Kukri with as much force as he could muster at the last pig about ten meters away, aiming directly at the head.

[Lamoni]

It took a second for all but one of the judges to realize that the Father-Captain had even completed the kills; Bob was nodding, with a grin on his face. "Very well done, Father-Captain," Bob announced.

Martyn snapped out of his shock, and was looking at the computer. "These first three pigs are simply dead. Two are decapitated, or might as well be, and the other one took a stab to the heart and guts. The fourth pig took the Kukri strike directly in the throat. While not instantly dead, this pig would be out of the fight. Four pigs targeted, 5 strikes used, four pigs dead."

Matthew had some things of his own to say. "Both sides used their knives effectively, and were very proficient with them. The Holy Warriors don't have to get as close to the target, and their weapon caused more damage, more quickly. However, it is not nearly as easy to hide a Kukri as it would be to hide an 88 knife. Thus, it comes down to a question of killing power versus stealth. Of course, when you are in uniform, stealth isn't exactly something that will hold up if you are seen. In such case, fast killing power is what you want.

Edge: Kukri

The camera moved back to Bob, who himself looked at the experts, and asked if they wanted to say anything.

[Holy Marsh]

"The correct decision has been made. The Kukri is superior. However, this knife has served us well even in a silent role in thousands of more specialized engagements. But you know that already, and your point about the ability to conceal it is true." The Father-Captain spoke briefly before becoming silent once more, bowing.

[Rustika]

Bruno shrugged, "You may have won with your knife, but you little toy is useless when our next gun will make sure that your dead before you can use your Kukri."

[Lamoni]

"The Holy Warriors are expected to serve in any capacity. They operate their own air force, armored elements, and special forces. Their engagements have been many and their victories legendary. More so, their dedication to their cause is such that in recorded history, despite thousands or more sometimes becoming engaged or specialized units operating deep behind enemy lines, not a single Holy Warrior has ever surrundered. Part of this can be attributed to their wide range of close combat and personal defense weaponries, which enable them to fight long after most forces fail. One of the modern weapons that fit this purpose is also among the deadliest; the devastating LY46 Hellhammer, the Lyran Handcannon.

With that in mind, it is time for the Holy Warriors to introduce their weapon. Who would like the honors?" Matthew Knox wanted to see how this match went down.

[Holy Marsh]

This time, it is the Corporal who steps forward, unholstering his personal Hellhammer.
"The LY46 is a beautiful piece of death. It fires 12.7mm x 35mm caseless telescoping rounds-.50 Lyran Caseless- with eight rounds in a normal magazine.The version I have with me, however, has ten. It is semi-automatic and gas operated, able to fit a wide range range of sights and attachments, and usually serves as a personal protection sidearm. The muzzle energy measures near 2,300 joules. For comparison, fired from a test barrel of eighteen inches, a 5.56 has about 1,700, and a .50 Action Express has 1,900. The .50 LC also moves at nearly sixty meters a second faster, so in short, you have ten large-bore rounds screaming down range, capable of batting away anything it comes into contact with.

The Holy Warriors use a wide range of pistols, with the L45 in competition for most prelevant. It is also the main pistol of the other armed forces. However, the Holy Warriors prefer the lethality of the Hellhammer and what drawbacks it has are more than covered by their training." The Corporal spoke, loading, unloading, taking apart and then putting the Hellhammer back together as he finished before loading it once more.

[Lamoni]

"Indeed, the Hellhammer is a very powerful pistol. I think that we should see this bad boy in action," Martyn commented.

The Test is set up to measure speed and accuracy of each weapon, as well as killing power. On the firing range are eight combat-dummies of balistics gelatin set up two-by-two spaced 2 meters apart to give the shooter a clear line of sight on all of them and at distances from 20-50 meters. At the far end, a dummy is holding a 'hostage' dummy in a human shield position with the lower part of his body also obscured steel sheeting and a window-frame.

Matthew explained the situation. "We have eight bad guys standing around on guard here; and we got Mr Big-Bad here holding 'Dorothy' the hostage, and using her as a human shield. You'll be on the clock to take out the targets as quickly and accurately as you can."

Bob set the high speed cameras, and joined the other two presenters behind the makeshift bunker of balistics glass. Counting down! "3...2...1 GO!"

[Holy Marsh]

Corporal Malak raises the Hellhammer, but does not aim at the nearest target first. He takes a second to aim at the target furthest away, the damnable hostage taker, and fires once, aiming at the center of the skull. He then starts moving from the targets furthest away to closest, firing in turn, with the understanding that the targets furthest away were going to be the hardest to hit and that with repeated pulls of the trigger a shooter was less accurate. He took his time, firing one shell after another, nine .50 rounds hammered down range, screaming towards their targets with malicious intent. When he was done and believed he had hit all the targets, he aimed once again at the target furthest away and fired at the same location as before; after all, he had one shell to spare.

Finished, he drops the empty clip to the floor and holsters the weapon.

[Lamoni]

The damage from the Hellhammer was very impressive. Everywhere that the rounds hit, they caused massive damage. However, would the Hellhammer have the accuracy to hit all of the targets? The three judges stormed over to the dummies in order to find out.

Starting with the hostage taker, they already spot a problem. Not only had the round penetrated the dummy, but before that, it had also struck along the right edge of the hostage's skull. Not by much, but with the power of the round used by the Hellhammer, it was enough to cause a significant amount of damage.

"At this rate, there would certainly be blood loss coming from the victim," Matthew stated. "Certainly a large laceration along the skull, possibly shaving off bits of the skull itself. The hostage would need prompt medical attention, but the hostage taker is dead for sure. the other eight targets are at the least severely injured, none of them will be back in this fight. The first round fired at the hostage taker had already hit him in the head. What would you call this one, Bob?"

Pausing a second to collect his thoughts before replying, Bob stated, "the second round fired at the hostage taker was unnecessary. The hostage taker had likely been taken out of the fight with the first round fired in his direction, and it was clear that there was a hostage in that area. It is a known fact that pistol shooters grow increasingly inaccurate with the increasing number of shots fired in one go. In addition, I am not entirely satisfied with the felt recoil reduction measures implemented in the Hellhammer pistol, and to this day, feel that the .50LCL round is not needed for a pistol. It is too much power, concentrated in too small of a weapon. Useful perhaps for sport shooting, but not as a military or special forces weapon. This display only adds to my discontent with the Hellhammer."

Up next is a weapon specifically designed for the 88 SSO.

Bronco W46 Pistol
With this weapon, I do thee kill.

[Rustika]

Bruno stepped up to the three men holding the Bronco Pistol. He set t down on the table glancing at the Holy Warriors experts and then at the target representing the hostage down the shooting range,

"The 88 kill their targets and only their targets. I don't know what academy your men learned to shot from, but an 88 only kill who they have to. On another note, gentlemen, this is the W46 Pistol. It holds 18 rounds in the magazine and it can be switched to fire full automatic. The recoil is minimal so firing bursts of two or three rounds at a time in semi automatic mode makes a marginal difference on the accuracy of the weapon. Each bullet is 10x20 and has with a cocktail of venoms in the tip. The cocktail is a mix of snake venoms and plant toxins which cause fast acting temporary paralysis which lasts for roughly an hour, the paralysis is accompanied with nausea and lightheadedness. The gun itself is gas operated and is used with a silencer."

[Holy Marsh]

Before the Corporal could respond to the taunts, the Father-Captain chimed in.
"Perhaps your people have never been touched by war in your homeland. Perhaps you know nothing of sacrifice, or the blood of your people being spilled in glorious defense of whatever it is you believe in. Such is not the case of Marshites or the Holy Warriors. We have engaged in war that makes your largest war appear to be a rowdy family gathering. In war, sacrifices are necessary. If, for the protection of all, one must die, then by all means death will come. If it is fated to be, so be it. These terrorist scum are dead and, within days, so will all their family, comrades, and friends be. Thanks to the quick dispatching of this group, we may move to another. Having said that, the hostage is not dead. He, she, it is wounded and would be tended to. In glory, all righteous will survive. Your taunts are meaningless and should be beneath so-called elite warriors." The Father-Captain cut in before the test could be continued, eying the Bronco Pistol.

"Now, let us see this weapon in action, for it shall be interesting to see."

[Lamoni]

Hoping to keep a bloodbath from erupting in the studios, Matthew used the stereo system to make his next statement, while Bob placed himself in between the two groups.

"If we are all ready for the next event, it is time for the 88 SSO to be demonstrating their pistol, now that the course has been reset. 3..2..1..GO!"

[Rustika]

Bruno ignored Father-Captain, he stepped up to the platform and faced the targets. He knew if he could kill a human target at this range, gel torsos wouldn't be a problem. As the countdown began he tightened his finger on the trigger. He aimed at the target down the range holding the hostage, he aimed right between the eyes, slightly to the side away from the hostage. As soon as he heard "GO!" he fired a single shot at where he was aiming and swiftly changed his aim to the next one closer to him and fired two shots at the center of his face, he did the same for the next one. He had thirteen bullets left and five more targets. Seeing as the fifth closest target was close enough to get an accurate kill he aimed for the target's left eye and fired two shots, for the next one he aimed for the right eye and fired two shots. Nine bullets and three targets left, he aimed for the third closest target and fired two shots to the center of his chest near where the center of his heart should be. Still having seven bullets left he fired a single shot at the next guy's forehead. He still had 6 rounds, as he switched his aim to the closest target, he turned the gun onto full automatic and he starting firing at the targets chest, the recoil brought the gun upwards and after having fired six bullets at the closest guy, the bullets fired during the time the recoil was aiming the gun constantly a little bit more upwards had gone all the way up to the center of his face. Bruno took a step back surveying the damage he had caused.

[Lamoni]

"We've got some pretty good shooting, there," Bob said when Bruno finished shooting.

"I agree," stated Matthew.

"According to the computer, Bruno's first shot was an instant kill on the hostage taker. With a shot between the eyes like that, this maggot is dead before he can blink. After that, there were quite a bit of headshots, with some center of mass shots thrown in.

The sensors are showing a total of five kill shots, and four wounds. This is the same performance provided by Corporal Malak, but Bruno expended more rounds to achieve the same result," Martyn Hill was nothing, if he was not honest.

"So we have a choice between injuring a hostage, and firing more rounds to get the same results? This is a tough choice, but I have to go with the Hellhammer. The Hellhammer is more powerful, but less accurate than the Bronco. If the hostage got proper medical treatment, it is quite likely that they would survive, while the hostage taker and his friends would be dead. Also, the toxins used in the bullets fired from the Bronco would be rendered ineffective by the muzzle heat when the round was fired. I seriously do not know why the designers bothered to do that." Matthew's weapons design knowledge was showing through.

"In Special Ops missions the faster that you get a desired result, the better that it often is. The goal with pistols is quick, accurate fire. While the Hellhammer drops the ball somewhat when it comes to accuracy, it did drop the terrorists very quickly. I have to go with the Hellhammer." Bob had seen many things during his time with the Berserkers. He didn't like to injure innocents if he didn't have to do so, but a fair result was a fair result.

"I am afraid that I have to disagree with you two gentlemen," Martyn Hill picked up. "While it did take more rounds to get the same results, the Bronco's round is not puny. The poisons are not useful, but it did score higher on accuracy than did the Hellhammer."
