"I think that would be for the best." Graphicus Nolandus said, "Also, the convention does not apply to every nation in Magana Europa, Prodava and Baden von Maplehurst have not agreed to it yet. It would also be best to get some, if not all, of the nations attending this conference to sign this new convention. Orostan specifically." Graphicus shifted his gaze towards Sam Israt and said, "One should always fight honorably, wouldn't you agree?"

Quen Minh wrote:With careful deliberation, they then nodded their heads.

"Your Highness." Lynette nudged, smiling. "Your man needs you."

The Princess then rose up from her seat.

"Oh, yes. The courier is outside waiting."

"Right. And you can always call me Lành Huệ."

Void of any hurry, the Princess bowed to her father and the fellow delegates of her nation and that of others. She then sauntered to the door, in sight of the quivering courier.

"Ah, yes. You may come with me," he said.

The Courier led the Princess through the silent, winding halls of the Imperial Palace, portraits of nobles and monarchs of times past decorated the walls of the large, monotonous corridors giving the Princess an eerie feeling of dread, sensing this, the courier decided to speak...

"You are on good terms with the prince?" He asked innocently, clearly uninformed of the possible arrangements, the courier could be no older than twelve but he spoke with an aristocratic air of charisma that instantly calmed Lành Huệ and made the long drab corridor stretching ahead seem less creepy and instead just a hallway like any other.

"Ah, you're right so far. Hopefully, it will keep itself that way," replied the Princess.

She then set her eyes around the portraits again, in uncertainty of striking up another conversation.

"So, how did you become a courier in the first place," she asked.

"So, how did you become a courier in the first place," she asked.

"It was that or become a squire," the courier replied, "I'd rather stay here in Frankenlisch than go die for some fancy lord..."

The boy had lost his aristocratic tone and now spoke darkly and his face became devoid of emotion.

An awkward silence had descended on the conference room, Sam Israt was silent, clearly thinking of something clever to say in response to Graphicus Nolandus' question. King James glanced around the room and jumped when there was another knock at the door and Percival Mercer, the Vionna-Frankenlischian Defence Minister, came in the room. He bowed curtly before King James, "your Grace..." He said.

"Yes, Percival?" James replied coldly, unhappy about the interruption.

"We are beginning Operation Hamlet, Militia has been deployed to the Prodavan border as you ordered."

"Good, how long until Operation Hamlet is ready?"

"Several days, your grace."

"Very good, you are dismissed."

King James turned around and cleared his throat, unsure of what to say, he just sat down and hoped someone else would speak for him.

"In fact, while were on the subject of warfare, as much as Grand Ceasia supports the Vionna-Frankenlischian cause we would like a peaceful solution... Will a peace conference be scheduled at any point?" Asked Graphicus Nolandus.

"It'll quite do..." King James said, smiling. As he did so, Francis Carthwright's Stratopad beeped and he checked the device, unexpectedly, he stood up.

"May I just say that as of several minutes ago, our new Embassy Service has been established, If anyone here wants to open an embassy with Vionna-Frankenlisch, please contact me."

Francis sat down and waited for someone else to talk.

That someone was Sir Arthur Greenslade who stood up from his chair, clearly intent on talking however he was interupted by a buzzing sound coming from one of his suit jacket's pockets. He produced from the pocket a flashy looking silver smart phone, seeing who the call was from he cleared his throat and said, "Sorry... I have to take this."

Sir Arthur swiped the screen of his phone to answer the call, he raised it to his ear and began to speak. "Mister Nomad?" He asked.

"Sir," the voice at the other end said, trembling, "There's been...an attack..."

The colour from his face drained to a chalky white as his hand began to shudder, the remainder of the conference room watched with baited breath as a feeling of pure dread washed over Greenslade. With lips trembling Sir Arthur gulped and began to speak again.

"Where?" he asked

"On the border..." Billy Nomad replied, "At checkpoint 12G."

'Germana...' Sir Arthur thought, "How many soldiers?" He asked.

"All of them," Nomad replied, "20 men, the entire garrison."

Greenslade dropped the phone it clattered to the floor at his feet, "Huh..?" he mumbled as he collapsed to the floor the last drops of colour having fallen from his face.

Understandably, the room burst into action, Sir Walter Straithclyde fell to his knees and started shaking his superior, asking what was wrong and begging him to wake up. Emperor Leandros Gustava quite dramatically vaulted the table to tend to his ally and King James himself ran around to Sir Arthur's aid. No one knew what had sparked the bizarre predicament but Kaiser Otto von Luxembourge and Prince Xavier stood infront of their seats uncomfortably looking around the room and adjusting their clothing.

Panicking and trying to help, Benjamin Al-Seer jumped up from his seat. But before he could head over to help with the crowd that was gathering around Sir Greenslade, he suddenly staggered and started to splutter. Elena Bonnet, realizing what was happening rushed over to help the young diplomat. Two security guards scrambled to help as well, as the young man started coughing blood over the conference table. The two guards helped take him out of the room, as Elena went to assist with the gathering crowd. She could only hope that nobody saw what just happened.

Sir Walter Straithclyde, desperately pleading with Sir Arthur to wake up noticed a voice resounding from his superior's mobile phone, he picked up the device and put it to his ear. "Hello?" He asked.

"Hello?" The voice at the other end replied, "Is Sir Arthur there?"
"Sir Arthur is otherwise engaged can you please tell me what is going on."
"There has been an attack at checkpoint 12G in Germana the 20 man garrison has been wiped out we know of no survivors but we are waiting for confirmation as soon as i get it i will let you know at the moment my suspicions are pointed towards Vionna Francenlisch make the attending nations aware of the attack but say nothing about who we suspect."

Meanwhile the other delegates waited in sullen silence, Sir Arthur along with another delegate had been taken from the room, Sir Walter ended the call and put the phone in his pocket he would return it to Sir Arthur later. The other delegates just stared at him awaiting news anxiously.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, i have just recieved some worrying news not long ago a Belvanian military installation in Germana was attacked we are currently unsure of the identity of the perpetrators but we are trying our damdest to find out who was behind the attack and be sure of this, those responsible will face fierce retribution." Sir Walter content with his explanation sat down.

The room sat in silent awe, there had been threats of nuclear warfare, multiple health issues and now an attack. Without speaking, but clearly with intent to do so, King James stood possibly to try and ease the tension left by Sir Walter.

"Ladies and Gentlemen..." He announced, "I feel it would be best to-" He was interrupted by a knocking at the door.
King James walked towards the noise and swung open the door, he was greeted by the same courier from earlier who handed him a message.

"It's mainly for Mister Kinburg but it might be best if you read it aloud, y'grace." The boy said, bowing before leaving.
His eyebrows slowly raising and his expression changing to one of surprise and slight sadness, King James read the message in his head before turning around, walking back to the table, clearing his throat and beginning to read the message allowed, "My lords, ladies and gentlemen..." He began, "Several moments ago, Prodavan troops, facing little resistance, occupied the United Kingdom of Baden von Maplehurst. King Louis has escaped and is currently aboard a ship scheduled to dock in Frankenlisch Military Dockyard later today."

Needless to say, the delegates burst into gasps and Adolf Kinburg, the Maplehurstian delegate, slowly rose to his feet in resignation. "Sir... Might I be excused?"
King James simply nodded however as Adolf trudged his way to the door he stumbled and fell sideways into King James' arms, sobbing uncontrollably. King James motioned for Brigadier Howland to come over to him, the pair hauled Adolf to the door and from there, the elite guards outside helped him to a spare room in the palace.

King James lent over to whisper to Brigadier Howland, "Prepare Operation Relentless Fury, this is unacceptable..."

Elena walked back into the room and took her seat. "I'm so sorry ladies and gentlemen, Mr Al-Seer was... feeling faint and had to be excused from the room. I've heard what's been happening and I promise-" Elena was cut off by her phone ringing. She picked it up and answered. "Hello? And with whom may I be speaking? Oh. Yes, of course. I'll send someone right away." She put the phone down. "I've just recived news that Mr Al-Seer has been airlifted to hospital. I've sent some of our detail to accompany him. I, just thought you should know... Elena sat down and started to read intently at her papers

"I hope you've conveyed to Mister Al-Seer our most solemn condolences for his condition." King James told Elena, sadly.
He paced around the room attracting the confused attention of the seated delegates before returning to his space and checking his golden pocketwatch.

"My god!" King James exclaimed loudly, "Is that the time? Ladies and Gentlemen, the time is four o'clock, feel free to leave the palace or you can stay here for drinks. The Royal Water Gardens are off limits, those of the Quenminese delegation know why..."

Sir Arhur Greenslade, after a small rest in one of the Imperial Palace's spare bedchambers, made a quick recovery after fainting. On Sir Walter's suggestion he decided to go for a quick round of golf.

"On par!" Sir Arthur shouted, "Well done, Sir Walter!"
"Thank you, sir." Sir Walter replied. "Sir, how about a quick drink?"
Slightly confused yet never one to pass off an opportunity for a drink, Sir Arthur agreed. Sir Walter ordered a gin and tonic and Sir Arthur ordered a brandy. They sat down and beginning their drinks began to converse about what happened at the meeting while Sir Arthur had gone.
"Sir," Walter began. "I have some important news, Prodava has occupied Baden Von Maplehurst".
Sir Arthur looked shocked. "This is dreadful news I will speak to General Mohammed Grovsner immediately this is outrageous..."

Most of the delegates having left the conference room, King James decided that it was time for drinks. He snapped his fingers and a servant soon walked over to him, "Get the Reconian wine..." King James ordered. The servant bowed and left the room, returning minutes later with a pair of ice buckets with a bottle of wine in each. He placed them on the table disappeared again and returned a moment later with some glasses.

"Would your grace prefer the Reconian 34' or the Belvanian 48'?" Asked the servant.
"Let's try the 34' first, shall we?" Replied King James, prompting the servant to start pouring.

Leading Prince Xavier away by the arm, Nonna made her way towards the Royal Water Gardens, giggling like a schoolgirl as she did so. It was only when classical music hit Prince Xavier's ears and he saw the glistening Bay of Frankenlisch that he realised where Nonna was leading him.

"Stop." He said, trying in vain to free his arm from her grasp.

"Why?" Nonna asked, pausing.

"Didn't you hear His Imperial Majesty, the gardens are off limits..."

"Doesn't matter," Nonna replied, "The gardens are big enough for us and... Whoever else is in there."

Xavier sighed, knowing it was unlikely that he was getting out of this predicament, he muttered, "Fine..." And followed Nonna.

Kaiser Otto von Luxembourge was one of the few delegates who had decided to stay in the conference room. Seeing that King James had ordered a drink, Otto decided to do the same, he motioned with his hand for a servant to come over to him. He ordered the Belvanian 1948 White and sat back in his chair, he checked his watch and fiddled around with one of the buttons on his tunic. He looked out of the window into the Royal Water Gardens to see a woman dragging Prince Xavier Lennox of Molvania into the gardens. While Prince Albert, King James' son, sat with an eastern looking girl in one of the gardens' three gazebos.

Otto turned back from the window and was surprised to see a servant with his drink, he smiled said "Thank you," and took the wine. Took a sip and laid back in his chair, waiting for the conference to start again.

Xavier sighed, knowing it was unlikely that he was getting out of this predicament, he muttered, "Fine..." And followed Nonna.

Vionna-Frankenlisch wrote:To the surprise of Prince Albert, Xavier Lennox of Molvani was being dragged along by a dark-haired young woman, laughing and smiling until they saw Prince Albert. The pair stopped and looked at him, red-faced, Prince Albert just looked furious. "What the bloody hell are you doing here?" He yelled angrily, slowly raising his dagger threateningly. "Were I not in the company of a lady, you could expect a bloody good thrashing!" Finally taking in that he was talking to a world leader, Albert quickly added, "your grace..."

Molvani wrote:Seeing how angry Prince Albert was with the Quenminese Princess in the background Prince Xavier could only assume that the gardens were reserved for them. He whispered to Nonna, "Run to the entrance, I'll meet you in a minute." She nodded and scampered away.

"I'm very sorry, your grace..." Xavier said, "I had the impression that the Gardens were reserved for... Other reasons." He was babbling at this point, he had no idea what to say and just hoped that Prince Albert wasn't planning on using his dagger.

Vionna-Frankenlisch wrote:Taking a deep breath and swallowing the excess of saliva that had formed in his mouth, Prince Albert lowered the dagger and after several seconds, placed it back in it's sheath. "Alright..." He whispered to himself, counting to ten in his head. "Prince Xavier," he said, "I apologise for my ungentlemanly behaviour but can you please leave immediately."

Prince Xavier only nodded, turned around and jogged to the entrance, presumably to reunite with his companion. Prince Albert took another deep breath and walked back to the gazebo, smiling on the outside, yet on the inside... Dreading Princess Lành Huệ's reaction.

"I'd better get back to the conference hall, they may be convening again, any second now." Prince Xavier informed Nonna. "You can come with me, but don't say anything."
"I'll go..." Nonna replied, sadly. "Can I have your Hotel key?"
"Fine." Xavier replied, handing his keycard to Nonna and jogging away towards the conference room.

Graphicus Nolandus returned to the conference room after a quick game of Snooker in the Palace's Entertainment Lounge, he sat down in his chair and began looking through the files that he'd piled up in front of him on the table. He exhaled loudly in desperation, 'We've done literally nothing...' He whispered to himself under his breath, 'Let's just hope we get something done now...'

"Alright..." King James stood up and started speaking, tapping a pen on his crystalline wine glass to get the attention of those in the room, "I believe it is well past time that we begin the second part of today's proceedings."
"Gentlemen," He said, turning to the couriers behind him, "Would you be so kind as to retrieve the delegates who are not currently with us..."
He turned back, facing towards the Quenminese Emperor, "Your grace, is your lovely daughter required here, or shall I leave her be?"

The other delegates didn't have to wait long before Sir Arthur and Sir Walter entered the room, looking somewhat flustered. The questions from the other delegates were coming thick and fast and Sir Arthur was showing signs of losing his temper but Sir Walter stepped in to try and calm things down, "Ladies and Gentlemen, please direct your questions towards me, one at a time."
