ZOMBIES ARE COMING, BUT SHALOTTES AREN'T BOTHEREDCONCERNS AROUND a possible zombie apocalypse have dominated media headlines of late, with scientists predicting an outbreak in less than 48 hours. The Islander wanted to see what Shalottes thought about the issue, but they have proved indifferent to the entire crisis.
"Who cares? They'll be blown off the damned cliffs, just like the rest of us," said one islander from the village of Brae'afnaega.
A worker from the Royal Bank of Shalotte in Alauna asked: "How will we tell the bloody difference?"
And one woman from Hareldn exclaimed: "An outbreak in two days? My man has been [a zombie] for years, this isn't news!"
The general sentiment expressed by everybody we asked, in fact, varied between 'it's already happened', to 'the zombies wouldn't want to stay here anyway'.
Even the government has adopted an indifferent attitude to the whole thing. The Gaeltyn has issued a statement to the public which asks them not to panic, but not because they have taken steps to combat any possible outbreak, but instead because "nobody ever comes [to Shalotte], so there's no risk of zombies".
Nevertheless, it is understood that the draér, who count most of Shalotte's doctors among their ranks, are making preparations to deal with any influx of casualties that may result from an outbreak. The Draéryn is said to be doing so only at the behest of Domnaeni Alsa II, who feels that it is better to be prepared just in case.
Whether or not the zombie apocalypse happens, and whether or not such an outbreak reaches the isles, the people of Shalotte seem intent on going about their business regardless.Page 1
