The following audio message was sent to all of the world's media outlets, and broadcast by local stations from within the Deltan Imperium...

"Greetings, I am Chancellor Roman, of the Deltan Imperium. In agreement with my fellow leaders in the Shadow Alliance, I am officially closing our borders to all non-military traffic. All Deltan Naval forces are being dispatched to form a blockade line around our island, while our air forces will be patrolling the skies above. Any civilian air and water craft attempting to cross into our territory will be first warned away with communications. If they do not turn around or respond, lethal force has been authorized. Our international Aerodrome has been shut down, with all civilian craft grounded. Again, all civilian craft are ordered to refrain from attempting to enter the territory of the Shadow Alliance. If you do not turn back, you will be fired upon. Good luck to you all..."

Grand Admiral Mathious stood on the bridge of his flagship, the I.D.S Avenger watching his officers going through their shift change. A young lieutenant walked up to him. "Sir, we're getting a message for you on the emergency channel."

Mathious turned. "Very well." He followed the officer to the communications room, and sat down at the terminal. Entering his personal code, he brought up the message. It was a live video feed from the Chancellor. "Sir!" he said.
"Mathious, I just received the reports from External Security. Is this as serious as they claim?"

"Yes sir," he replied. "I am deploying our forces into defense positions now. All ships, submarines, and aircraft are heading out as we speak."

"Understood. Make sure you close us off from ALL external traffic. I don't want anything getting through except me and my escort."

"When should I expect your return?" he asked.

"In 6 hours. We're already airborne." The chancellor frowned. "We should deploy ground units, just in case any air or water craft do slip through."

"I have already issued orders for just that," Mathious replied.

"Excellent. Oh, another thought." He leaned toward the camera. "Order the SR-71's prepped. I want over-flights of the surrounding areas. We should keep an eye on the rest of the world during this trial."

"Understood," the admiral replied. "I've have them airborne within the hour."

"Good. And inform all of our forces, this is now a Level 7." Chancellor Roman sat back in his chair. "As of right now, we are at war...."

"Commander!" called a radar officer, "A civilian airliner is approaching our airspace."
"Any sign that they are changing course?" asked commander Jameson.
"No sir," the officer replied. "Aircraft is continuing on course."
"Damn," Jameson said. "I was hoping we could avoid this." He studied the radar screen a moment. "Have Tomcat flight Bravo-6 intercept. Warn it off."
"What if the craft doesn't change course?" the officer asked. Out of the corner of his eye, Jameson saw the crew members of the AWACS turn to look at him.
"You all heard the Chancellor's orders," he said. "but contact Admiral Darragorn. Inform him of the situation and request confirmation of the Final Order."
"Yes sir," the officer replied, turning back to his console. "Bravo-6: This is Skywatch Bravo-2. Change course to intercept bogie..."

In the sky, a pair of F-14 Tomcat fighters turned to port, and headed straight for Flight 2289...

"Civilian aircraft! This is Bravo-6 Alpha. You are ordered to change course to avoid Deltan Airspace. Please respond...

201 people on board were seeking to flee to an island near Deltania to escape zombies.

Captain Willis Sizfla heard warnings, but realized there were other flights in the air, and refused to listen to it.

"Is the intruder turning away?" came the reply.

"Negative! Diving on course towards the mainland!" The two fighters changed course to continue their intercept of the airliner. "We are still 15 miles from the target. Orders?"

There was a pause on the radio, before the voice returned. Bravo-6: Orders from FleetCom confirmed. You are authorized to open fire."

It was an order he was hoping not to carry out. "Understood. Bravo-6 Alpha to 6-Beta! Arm Phoenix!" His RIO in the seat behind him activated the targeting radar, locking the missiles onto the target...

thai flicked a switch and the aircraft increased it's speed. the plane turned left, then banked right, whihc was nearly impossible due to the size of the plane, a standard 747 Boeing.
he had the speakers blast white flag, giving some people in the plane lose their ears.

A Westerplattean military cargo plane loaded with troops and supplies was on the way from a colonial military base to Westerplatte to reinforce the capital, as it passed over Deltan Imperium, the infected pilot began coughing and yelling incoherent nonsense. He passed out at the cockpit. The plane plunged perilously down towards the land below.

Putting down his binoculars, General Lerner, turned to soldier at the radio. "Send a flight of Comanche's to investigate," he ordered. "If they see anything moving, rave the whole site! And have ground troops surround the area." He looked back towards the sky. "What about the other craft?"

"One crashed on the ocean," the soldier replied. "The second..."

"Yes?"

"Sir, the second airliner is non-responsive! Bravo-14 reports it's nosediving towards the ground!"

"Quick! Launch a Patriot to intercept!" Lerner ordered. "Blast that plane before it crashes!"

"Yes sir!" answered the soldier, as he relayed the orders. Moments later, General Lerner watched as a trail of smoke took off from a nearby forest, and streaked into the sky. "Lord, I hope we take it out in time..."

Another pilot in a F-14 was flying close to the A-380. His rear-seat radar officer called out the contact, and both he and his wingman veered off to intercept, calling in the contact to command. They received the same orders as the others, and attempted to contact the airliner...

"Civilian craft! This is Gamma-5-Alpha! You have entered restricted airspace, and are ordered to turn around immediately! Please respond!"

Stepping into the command center of the military bunker, Chancellor Roman approached the officer in command, who saluted him. "Chancellor!" he said, "Welcome home!"

"What is the situation with the aircraft?" Roman asked.

"Sir! All but one have crashed. We don't know the official causes yet, but it looks like they simply dove to the ground or water. The theory is that the crews were already infected."

"And the remaining liner?"

"We have a pair of Tomcats on intercept." He pointed to a video map of the area, when two blue dots moved closer to a larger red one. "If they don't get a response?"

"Shoot it down," Roman replied. "My personal authorization." Upon getting stares from the officers in the room, he added, "We cannot allow a single person to break the quarantine. All the infected in the Imperium have been eliminated. I don't want a repeat."

"Sir," said the commander, "there is also a message from Newne Thernania." He passed a page to the Chancellor, who took a moment to read it.

"Are any of our SR-71's in that area?" he asked.

The commander reached out to adjust the video display, changing it to show a global map, with 12 blue markers spread out across the map. "Blackbird 4 just overflew their nation," he reported. "It appears to be completely overrun by infected."

The Chancellor thought for a moment. "Ignore the message," he ordered. "They have more important things to worry about..."

"All stations, All stations. This is Commander Shadow of the CyberiumEmpire aboard aircraft tail code M34CE8.

Requesting emergency landing. I repeat Requesting emergency landing" Shadow calmly states.

Whilst pushing buttons and flicking switches on the fighter jet holographic control panel, he sees 2 blips on the radar.

Quickly he broadcasts once more, "Imperium Aircraft, This is Commander Shadow of The CyberiumEmpire, Service ID CE11GH2J8. aboard Military aircraft tail code M34CE8. Do not fire, I repeat. Do not fire. This is a general Mayday broadcast."

Silently, he hopes for the best.

And with that, the HSS Archdivinity, several thousand miles away from Deltan Imperium, sent 4 Sixth - Generation Skypler Fighter Jets to provide escort to the Isolated HAF Voltaire Isignum.
