An as yet unidentified man was shot and killed in downtown Uninporton today, after he allegedly killed another person and ate its remains. The person was shot and killed by an off duty police officer.

"He had blood all over him, and ate an entire leg off the other person. " said the off duty police officer, whose name is currently being withheld because of a publication ban, "It was a disgusting sight."

Many activists have encouraged the Patriolandish government to take part in solving the issue behind the recent chain of cannibalistic attacks.

"This is all because of poor education!" said education privatization advocate Jonne Whedon, "Give more funding to private schools, and we will solve this problem by reducing poverty, and by extension crime!"

However, not everyone agrees. The Patriolandish Communist Party leader said that the "rule by the rich" is causing these cannibalistic attacks, and that tax rates on the rich must be raised.

"The tax rate here is 19 percent, and much higher for the wealthy. " said Jonne Whedon, "There's enough burden on the taxpayers already. Why don't we just stop funding public education and send everyone to private schools? That would reduce taxes and stop those cannibalistic attacks and crime by reducing poverty!"

The Patriolandish government is hosting a meeting today to decide whether or not they should enforce martial law as the instances of cannibalistic attacks increase.

Authorities are remaining cautious after a man who collapsed in a subway station in Bloomberg has been confirmed to have Z3, a mutated strain of the devastating Z1 and Z2 viruses. Z3 has symptoms of fever, nosebleeds and fainting which eventually cause either organ failure and death or the hijacking of the brain by a mutant protein.

The man collapsed yesterday and was taken by paramedics to the nearby North Bloomberg General Hospital Emergency Department. After fifteen minutes in hospital, the patient was moved to the ICU as his condition was realised to be very serious. After tests comparing his disease and Z2 were run then he was confirmed to have Z3 and patient zero was airlifted to the Viral Isolation Branch at the Royal Institution Hospital. Journalists watched as he was moved into the hospital.

The Global Edition were not allowed to see the patient or his room but we were able to see a similar room at the hospital. The room was completely isolated and armed guards were stationed in the corridors. The patient is being constantly observed and his vital signs are being measured and tracked. Only hazmat-suited doctors can enter the room.

There are worrying signs the condition of patient zero is worsening and progressing into a violent phase - a spokesperson for the hospital said that the patient has woken up and slammed himself against the reinforced glass wall of his room several times before walking, yes walking, back to his bed and returning to sleep.

Virology experts at Southwestern Patrioland University issued a statement today vehemently denying the existence of a so-called "zombie virus" due to a "lack of factual, empirical knowledge".

Bob Schroodles, virologist at Southwestern Patrioland University, calls the rumors about the zombie virus "irresponsible."

Scientist Facing Charges for Mutating Humans

Case to be Heard by Supreme Court of the United States

This Thursday, researchers at the Vancouver Institute's Ontario Lab for Experimental Testing discovered a cure for Ebola, but at a deadly cost.

"The virus is absolutely killed with our vaccine," says [name], Lead Researcher at VIOLET in the preliminary results on Friday. Dan: This just in, Munchies have been reported to have gotten through the eastern gates. People in the District of Maniapolis are advised to BUY! BUY! BUY! their must have Survivalist Gear, are you prepared? You're gonna need Food, Water, Ammo, Barricades, etc. The District Government advises people to stay in their homes and wait it out while the Army resolves the issue.

I think We ALL know that this breach of security via Munchies has been assisted through Aliens attempting to defeat our great and glorious nation. Munchies are generally just as peaceful as the average Divergian, just dumber and decomposing. The only way for this to have happened would have been an alien assault. If we would spend more towards they Military, we wouldn't have this problem! we could kill one another on highways in peace. Phil: No Dan, I don't think its Aliens, it could easily have been a lack of maintenance. The Border's Exit-Ways are in shambles, the "humidifiers" never have enough Containers of Chemical Nerve Agents to Kill the infected that attempt to reach the border. Dan: Ok, and we're back on Air with an important announcement: The Army has dispatched a small number to Food Distribution Centers, Sanitation-Stations, and Railway Stations in the Sectors on the Maniapolis Border, and their adjacent Sectors. With more heavily numbered forces in infected boroughs and Sectors.

A Special Alert has been Issued for the Malton Sector, were the breach in the Gates occurred. Munchies have been reported numerously in the region, with some being reported in the nearby Sectors of Monroeville, and Borehamwood. Local Governments are encouraged to establish Safehouses, and Citizens are encouraged to stay in their homes, go to Safehouses, and avoid areas that may be targeted for Looting. People attempting to endure in their homes should keep their doors secured, and securely barricade them. Munchies have difficulty opening doors, and therefore one should keep as many doors between you and the undead.

While most of the reports undead have been from the Boroughs: Dentonside, Darlington, and Houldenbank. Reports of Munchies have come in from Dunell Hills, and Ridleybank. Ridleybank is actually really close to the Bently Tower, its actually only a few blocks away. However, we will remain on and cover the outbreak for your needs.

The Munchie Virus is transmitted by the sharing of bodily fluids with a Munchie, or recently infect person. Tomorrow we'll have a Health-Care worker from St. George's Hospital in Ridleybank, but until then lets go over some of the new protocols for combating the disease:

Ridleybank will spear the operation in containing the spread of the virus to Malton, taking in the sick to one of its' seven hospitals. Schools have been closed(to the joy of children all over Malton) to reduce the spread of infection, as well as putting must-have health-care products on sale.

Patient Zero escaped from a quarantined hospital after exhibiting strange symptoms. It took multiple shots to the chest and several directly to the head to stop him, he was able to first bite seven others and dismember three completely. An outbreak has started as bodies are rising after their assumed death. The nation's borders have been closed off entirely and the city has been shut down with all citizens being advised to stay inside their homes or shelters until evacuations can be made. Military forces are being sent in to kill and exterminate anyone still on the streets as if they are infected. Medicine is being researched on a select group of the undead, but so far no breakthroughs have happened.

After reports have reached the Federal Government of the possibility of an infectious virus, the country is shutting down all borders, giving out food to sapients, and deliberately making all passengers be quarantined in airports around hamster-populated regions, because undead hamsters are not as deadly as other undead beings. The Armed Forces have mobilized reserve forces and the Chancellor has given an additional $15 billion to the Ministry of Health to attempt to find a cure in the event that the virus spreads to Lolloh.

The following message is broadcast at the request of the National Civil Defense Service:
The People's Defense Forces of the Federation have announced that they will begin voluntary evacuations of the south-east districts of Westham, which have been declared virus free as of this morning according to the Westham regional health authority. All sectors east of Daily Plaza and south of Town Hall will be eligible for voluntary evacuation outside of the quarantine zone. The People's Defense Forces will be working in close cooperation with the National Civil Defense Service in order to minimize the possible risk of infection.
Soldiers equipped with specialized hazardous materials suits will begin knocking on doors at 8:00am tomorrow morning. Citizens wishing to evacuate will be given instructions on what to bring and which route to take, and will be given one hour to leave the city. In order to keep essential service routes from being blocked, a strict ban on all nonessential vehicles is being enforced on all citizens leaving the city. Citizens leaving the Westham quarantine zone will be interned outside of the city for up to 24 hours to ensure that infection does not leave the city. Following this, citizens will be relocated to civil defense shelters and refugee camps.

In other news, the Ministry of Defense has issued a statement of clarification regarding earlier rumors that Bomber Command has moved to a combat alert. The Ministry has stated that bomber command, like the other wings of armed forces, remain on advanced alert status. Bomber Command has, however, begun lockdown procedures on airbases, which are a part of normal combat alert procedures. This measure is a precaution designed to ensure that bombers are able to land and refuel without the risk of infected. The ministry wishes to reaffirm that this measure is part of the normal nuclear deterrent to foreign powers, and does not in any way reflect plans to use nuclear weapons against infected populations.
