"Zombie" is an Offensive Term.

As part of the Citizenship Rights Reform of 2014, Ermiopa shall ABOLISH the use of the highly offensive and marginalizing term "Zombie", which associates the affected individuals with the modern pop-culture depictions. This unfairly stereotypes them as mindless walking shells of a body, when in reality they are living, breathing and productive members of society. From now on, Ermiopa will use the term "Necrosis-Affected Individuals" and encourages others to do the same. Also included is a promise for citizenship for ALL Necrosis-Affected Individuals and equal treatment under the law, except for special cases such as cannibalism and loitering.

Nations which Unfairly Discriminate against Affected Individuals:

In response to the recent announcement from the government of Ermiopa, the Federation Ministry of Health would like to inquire as to the scientific sources used by the Ermpiopans in confirming that these "individuals" meet the basic requirements of life, in particular individual growth and maintaining homeostasis.
In the experiences of the Ministry of Health from the April outbreak, it has been consistently found that infected individuals are incapable of growth or reproduction without an uninflected human, and are incapable of maintaining homeostasis, thus failing the basic prerequisites to be "living, breathing and productive members of society."
Thus, until we find evidence otherwise, we must continue to classify infected individuals as zombies.

Necrosis-Affected Individuals Deemed an Offensive Term

People in Scissoro are complaining that Necrosis-Affected Individuals is highly offensive. Calling someone 'affected' seems to indicate that the person is not normal, or like others. Thus, in Scissoro, the former term for Zombie and Necrosis-Affected Individual will now be "Necrosian Persons with Equal Rights as other Persons". Already other groups are bitching that this new term is offensive, in that it margianlizes a minority by giving them a specific title, opting to call formerly known Zombie Persons as simply Scissoroans, eliminating prejudice and racism. These people believe that it is racist to call a person by their title such as "African American" or "Necrosis-Affected Individuals" and should be referred to simply by their national status as Citizens or Non-Citizens.

OOC: Politically correct terms for minority groups is just as racist as non politically correct terms for minority groups. Ending racism involves ending the need to separate these people into categories in the first place.

The term Zigger and Zink seem to be used colloquially among Korigador's populace. Though in official capacity they are termed Reanimates.

The unofficial term shall remain zombie. They are hyper aggressive, have no ability to reason and have a mind reduced to that of an animal with no sign of self preservation or even self awareness.

Our official term shall also remain "Infected" or "Necrotics". We aren't giving any rights to these mindless monsters.

As most citizens of our glorious Empire die due to accidents and are reanimated regularly, we shall continue to use the term "Zombie" to describe this lesser naturally occurring form of reanimation. Zombies usually are still productive until their mental faculties degrade to primal urges. We reject your filthy mammalian ideas of "discrimination" and continue our glorious reptilian policies and social norms.

The people of Ontorisa currently refer to "zombies" as Chokapas meaning "Nonliving Life Eaters" in the native language of Ontorisa, Koliakper.

We Zombie Fascists embrace the word zombie, but condemn all terms that refer to zombieism as a disease, or in any other way connects us with the living. We are the master race, God's chosen people, and shall end human tyranny for ever, in favour of an undead utopia!

However, we have some terms for you filthy humans as well, such as "breathers" and "livies".

OOC: OP needs a third category for nations like me. :p We might be a minority, but we exist.

The Imperial Government of Karlsland will continue to use the term 'Infected' in official documents, in order to reduce the fear factor calling them 'zombies' would undoubtedly cause. However, the media and citizens of Karlsland are free to use the term 'Zombies' or any other term they see fit.

The word zombie isn't used in Drawkland due to the fact that English is more of a language of study rather than one of use (similar to Latin in most societies). However, the term itself is not banned or even addressed at all, both instances of a zombie apocalypse in Drawkland were dealt with quickly and no official government documents refer to them in any way.
As for equal rights, the government of Drawkland ignores their "inherent rights" due to the fact that they can't speak for themselves. Drawkland is used to have multiple species recognized as citizens within the border but only because they themselves caused a riot, not some hippie at a computer said they wanted rights.

TL;DR: Government doesn't recognize them officially, unofficially they suggest fire as a suitable response.

Mesrane will continue to use normal and long-accepted terms like "zombie." The undead are not alive, and they lack free will, and their only purpose seems to be the further spread of infection. They are destructive monsters, and not human in the slightest regard. Therefore they do not deserve rights, nor could they care less if they had any or not.

Typical breather reaction. It's this kind of thinking that makes the NationStates World a less inclusive place.
