What's the "Zombie Apocalypse"?

Is it basically a period of time where all issues will be zombie-related? I don't like the thought of it...for the next two weeks I'm probably gonna just be dismissing issues

Actually, it's completely different. On the date of the event, a special page comes up that looks like an issue with options to cure, exterminate, or join forces. Depending on which you pick, you'll unlock a different "superweapon" (cure missiles, tactical zombie elimination squads, or hordes, respectively) which you can use on your region-mates to help them out (or wreak utter chaos).

There are a bunch of graphs on every nation and region page showing the number of survivors, infected, and dead. Your national population will also subtract the number of dead, and have a line about how many are infected. The more infected in a region or nation, the faster the plague spreads to other survivors. Infection rates are based on how many nations in each region are pursuing each option. Regions with large inactive populations, or poor coordination (such as the one you're in) are usually the first to fall. Small, active regions are usually the safest. A special subforum will be opened shortly, where you can get more information of dedicated curing regions and other survival strategies.

Just a side note - The apocalypse will probably be slightly different from the last two incarnations, just like last time was different than the first. I would not be surprised if the options were slightly different worded etc. Maybe instead of cure missiles we get legions of doctors with syringe guns like in Team Fortress 2 But really, it'll play the same, but be slightly different.

Check in with your region to see if everyone there is participating in the event as a group. Some regions pull together for the event. Others don't coordinate.

I have and we have said that we are going try and stop the zombies. If someone starts helping them, we are going to temporarily eject them until it's over.

I'm new here to, but i think i'll just click cure and hope as least casualties as possible, i don't tend to think them as zombies
