Not if you count zombies as people and make them pay taxes.

They'll be normal after Halloween.

Yes. If you lose your entire population, your IP is banned from this website and you nation is deleted. We lost 32'000 nations last year.

It was an April Fools joke the first time, then it returned for Halloween with a few features. Any population decreases during these times have temporary and solely for entertainment or immersion purposes. In both cases, a special subforum was opened in which players could discuss, coordinate or play out their reactions to the zombies.

Generally speaking it's safe to assume you're all safe and sound unless you sit in a place with a lot of inactive nations left to rot by their owners like for example the Feeder regions or perhaps the Rejected Realms. Most regions will generally sort their stuff out by establishing an uniform policy to counter the Zombie menace.

Or spread the undead love. We also have those who regularly side with the Undead. I like to call them NecRomancers. Capitalization mandatory.

I'm new here as well, so do i have a right to be afraid of this apocalypse?
I'm in Iwaku, which is a very active and large region.

It's just temporarily.
Carl Sagan, astrophysicist and atheist wrote:"Science is not only compatible with spirituality; it is a profound source of spirituality.
When we recognize our place in an immensity of light-years and in the passage of ages,
when we grasp the intricacy, beauty, and subtlety of life, then that soaring feeling,
that sense of elation and humility combined, is surely spiritual...
The notion that science and spirituality are somehow mutually exclusive does a disservice to both."

If I recall, Iwaku responded pretty well to the riders of the Apocalypse the last times.

Your nation page will display the number of zombies next to your population. That is only for the day, and all your nations will be back to normal after that.

Well...
On a specific date, temporary features are unlocked that are meant to simulate a real zombie outbreak, your population will slowly turn into infected, then into dead. That rate of alive to infected will get faster as more nations in your region get infected as well as rising infection rates in your nation. You have three options while this is happening, embrace the horde and spread zombie love (increases your infection rates and allows you to send hordes to other nations in yer region) ZES (Zombie Extermination Squads, allows you to turn infected into dead in other nations) and a cure missile (turns infected into normal in target nation in region)

Now, your nations spending will have an impact on the speed the aforementioned abilities are unlocked, education allows you to research the cure missile faster, military spending the ZES, and if you lack either of those, I think hordes take the same amount of time to research for everyone no matter what.

Yes, but it comes back once the event ends.

Don't listen to them. The results are permanent. I've seen people's populations go into the negatives and stay that way. It's all a trick and a sham.
Sebtopiaris is a culturally and ethnically Mediterranean, single-party democratic socialist state in the New Warsaw Pact with a population of 39 million Sebtopiariots. Sebtopiaris and its IC actions do not represent my personal beliefs, and Sebtopiaris's overview page does not represent much at all.

I was in Balder the last two times. My nation was okay-ish at a 12% survival rate the first time and a 22% the second time. I choose to eradicate them, by the way. The region of Balder as a whole was not so lucky. I believe they were among the hardest hit, if not thee hardest.

Thankfully, everything resets after the fact so it is all in good fun. If you like watching hundreds of millions of your people die every hour fun, anyway.
