Carl Sagan, astrophysicist and atheist wrote:"Science is not only compatible with spirituality; it is a profound source of spirituality.
When we recognize our place in an immensity of light-years and in the passage of ages,
when we grasp the intricacy, beauty, and subtlety of life, then that soaring feeling,
that sense of elation and humility combined, is surely spiritual...
The notion that science and spirituality are somehow mutually exclusive does a disservice to both."

Generally speaking it's safe to assume you're all safe and sound unless you sit in a place with a lot of inactive nations left to rot by their owners like for example the Feeder regions or perhaps the Rejected Realms. Most regions will generally sort their stuff out by establishing an uniform policy to counter the Zombie menace.
Or spread the undead love. We also have those who regularly side with the Undead. I like to call them NecRomancers. Capitalization mandatory.

I have some puppets...so does that mean they'll all die? Also, what do you mean it's safe to ASSUME I'll be safe? What could happen? Is there any way I can completely avoid the apocalypse?

Yes. If you lose your entire population, your IP is banned from this website and you nation is deleted. We lost 32'000 nations last year.
