Well, thanks to this zombie crap, my country's population was wiped out. I've watched it steadily decline in number over the past few hours, and I'm pissed. At the moment, I've lost 99% of my population to this ridiculous event, and it's done nothing to engender me to the players (who are avid supporters) or programmers (who made it happen). I love how things have to involve me and my country, despite my purposeful avoidance of other nations. You'd think that an isolationist wouldn't be affected, but as I've seen throughout my own life (outside this game), people just have this overwhelming inability to leave other people alone. I don't play online games for any form of social interaction; if I wanted that, I'd leave the house.... which I don't. So, thanks....

My nation is on the brink of destruction as a nation. The known populations of the empire have been wiped out save for a few colonies, conquered nations, and solar systems here and there. The hordes have overrun most of my cities and the ones that haven't been infested are abandoned. Even now, timber wolves roam the wilderness, unchecked, unchallenged, killing at will.
From space, you can see the ruins of once glorious centers of wonder and progress fall into darkness.

Well hello! The event was fun and I will tell you why. It brought people together and had them work toward a common goal. If you read the ZDC thread you will see that BOTH anti-zombie and zombies fought each other to have fun. I may not like socializing like you, but when you put yourself in the third person and watch how everyone acts, you realize that fun is what everybody makes it. I had a blast and so did those who participated.

I'm just not interested in dealing with other players. Even the forums are more socializing than I usually engage in. I appreciate that others enjoyed themselves, but group efforts are something I prefer to be excluded from. Even my job has me working by myself, with limited human interaction. I play games to get away from people, and especially from zombies and similarly ridiculous monsters. Now that the whole thing is over, and seemingly the whole world is "back to normal" I wonder why it even happened at all. If it was to have no effect on anything beyond the event there seems to be no point.

The whole event is for fun. It isn't permanent because of the newcomers who don't have experience in this kind of stuff.
