Btw, may want to consider changing the castle image, since Crannogmen castles were usually on floating islands, so their castle were likely wooden fortifications. But since your lands are on the coast it doesn't really matter

I tried to find something closer to moat catlin but I had little luck. i figure an excuse to have a nicer castle than a wooden fort would be to build it on the coast.

History of the House: House Blacklocke has existed as long as there has been a Blackreach for them to rule. Blackreach has only been constructed rather recently. Hardly more than sixty years ago Harkin Blacklocke, a skilled mercenary enlisted in the army of Rhaenyra Targaryen. During the The Dance of the Dragons Harkin Blacklocke distinguished himself in many battles. After the assault on Harrenhal Blacklocke was given command of 100 men in charge of securing the smoldering ruins. During Battle of the Kingsroad Harkin Blacklocke fought side by side with Lord Benjicot Blackwood even personally slaying Lords Darry. However Blackwood took credit for the kill. However Harkin was not forgotten. Shortly after the end of the war, when Aegon III Targaryen was crowned, he was compensated with lands in the neck. Just saw the "Freys are equal to Hightower" comment:

The Freys at their most powerful (Late Lord Walder) are still reviled by the other houses, and are only the most powerful Riverlord due to the rest being killed off or burned out. The Blackwoods and Brackens would be able to match them, and the Whents if they had a leader. Darry pre-Rebellion as well. Being "one of the most powerful" is just one among many. The Freys are the worst offenders for people taking their rise in AFFC as being a representation of the past.

I mean I ain't saying that Hightower wouldn't stoop to that level, anything is possible, but Hightower has far better matches in the Reach (Peake, Rowan, Tyrell, Redwyne, Tarly, Florent, ect).

Note on the status of the houses.

This is the (Late) Targaryen era - the Hundred Years War of Westeros, if you want to look at the real world parallels. Blackwood and Bracken are rivals for second-place most powerful vassals of Tully - they are the historic faction leaders within the riverlands, see every war they participate in -, with Lothston and Darry not far behind. Blackwood and Bracken have received royal favour, a powerful thing in the failed state of the riverlands. The Tully's influence has been sapped time and time again, giving Neville and Percy greater power than their position would suggest. The Lothstons control the historic royal seat of Harrenhal, a seat which has been granted by the royals as a favour, instead of going through the Tullys. As a result they are usually more closely associated with Kingslanding than Riverrun. This is also true of Darry and Mooton. Frey only reached their most powerful state under the reign of Late Lord Walder, and that was more to do with the reduction of Blackwood (through their constant uniquely bloody conflict with their rivals), Bracken (through the Rebellions and the rivalry), Darry (through the Usurper), and Whent (Usurper again).

Oh and Redwyne and their fleet, most likely not as large as it is now. Dagon hasn't happened yet and this is the first war since the loss of the dragons (we all know how ships do with fire). In addition the Reach have a lord admiral (who isn't always a Redwyne) which is a disincentive to maintain a large standing force. As is the vague naval might of the Velaryons

Power changes over time, and that is a pet peeve of mine that George doesn't usually specify how much change there is. Take the Velaryons for example since I've already name dropped. Basically was the royal fleet and could still support several thousand men-at-arms, and at their height was the envy of the other houses for their wealth. Now? They were able to supply some four galleys. Four, where they once floated at least (stressing that least) twenty galleys. Hell they were the reason Daemon conquered the Stepstones (and formed a kingdom out of it). Point is, numbers are vague and we can just pluck figures out of the air, but historical alternations from AGoT must be taken into consideration

How are the NPC Vassals going to be rolled?

From what I can recollect Blackfyre's primary strength was in the Reach (where he most certainty began his campaign, so I would argue for literally half of the Reach declaring for him). I would argue that Lord Tyrell's actions were undertaken after Daemon had left, trying to reinstate Highgarden authority over the Reach (beginning in the south and then mustering north, hence why Hightower was divided in canon and Leo didn't have any impact outside of the Reach).
He also had great strength in the Westerlands (maybe a third? He had the Crakehalls through Redtusk and the Castameres through Robb, and they are influential in position (one is the gateway to the Reach, the other a good mining location)). Given that the fighting there was very centralised (Lannisport and Casterly Rock being the two main points) I'd argue that support for the Blackfyres was very prominent.
Riverlands (again I'd argue for a half split, since Blackwood and Bracken are the faction leaders and Tully is literally an afterthought in this war).
The Vale (beyond the Sisters, maybe the Redforts and the Waxleys?) are most certainly pro-Targ for whatever reason.
Stormlands, obviously the Penroses threw their lot in with the Targaryens, but beyond that it was Prince Baelor's machinations which swung things in his favour. An obvious wildcard
Iron Isles, didn't give a shit cause they don't drink milk.
Dorne, obviously pro Targaryen, though the Yronwoods led the pro-independence party in favour of Daemon (or rather anti-Martell)

Obviously the players decide for themselves, but how will it be balanced canon v "fairness"?

EDIT EDIT: Just for the record, Frey were Blackfyre supporters, hence why they have a rivalry with the Darrys come War of the Five Kings.

Lord Garland's two older daughters are married to Lords Tarly and Ashford, while Garland is married to a Redwyne, and his heir, Ser Abelar, a Rowan, so I see no problem with his youngest daughter being married to Lord Frey.

And I intend to have House Hightower start neutral, and keep a foot in both camps, as they did historically during the First Blackfyre Rebellion.
