The Seven Kingdoms of Westeros are in turmoil. With the death of Robert Baratheon, the first of the Baratheon Kings, five Men have laid claim to the Iron Throne. In the North, Robb Stark has united his realm with the lands of the Trident in order to avenge the murder of his father, Eddard Stark. The child of King Robert, Joffrey Baratheon, is now defending his claim, backed in large part by the family of his Mother, House Lannister. Joffrey's claim is in doubt however, as both of his uncles, Stannis and Renly Baratheon, have both declared him illegitimate and a bastard born of incest. In this powder keg, the Iron Islands, lead by their warrior King, Balon Greyjoy, is readying to take what is rightfully theirs.

With the lands in crisis, and the Throne in jeopardy, who will win the game of thrones? Who will win and who will die? It is up to you to decide!

Introduction

Welcome everyone to Game of Thrones: You Win or You Die, a RP set just days after the execution of Eddard Stark. In this RP, you will take control of noble or a commoner, a Lord or Lady, to take the Iron Throne and change the history of Westeros as we know it.

This will be a character driven RP, with significant factional, political, and military aspects. Can you win the Game of Thrones?

There are a few Rules to follow:
1) The OP and Co-ops are Gods, their word is law.
2) This is a fantasy RP but try and be realistic. Travel time, combat, and politicking are all important, dont go too crazy
3) No god modding, metagaming etc.
4) This is going to be a freeform RP, time will vary between posts.
5) This will be an RP based on character development and progression, do not expect storylines to develop for you, make your own and involve other players. If you are stuck with nothing to do, OP/CO-OP will give your a task or an idea.
6) Keep the Lore restricted to A Song of Ice and Fire material only
7) Have FUN

And now we move on to the character creation stage.
You may make your own house, however, they will be subject to stringent review, and canon houses are preferred. A new house may invent a new castle, but will not be able to take over lands or titles from a canon house. Your application will not be accepted until all fields are filled out.

Name: Renly Baratheon

Titles: King of the Andals, Rhoynar and First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, Protector of the Realm, Lord Paramount of the Stormlands and Lord of Storms End
House Seat:

House Sigil:

Allegiance paid to: (Eg. Bolton's to Starks, Starks to Targaryens)
Appearance:
Image

Personality: Gregarious, charming, and kind, Renly is easily loved and very handsome. He is intelligent but youthful and inexperienced at rule.
Skills: Renly is a trained warrior, though hardly a martial man. He is skilled at diplomacy and is courtly, shown to be relatively cunning.
Weaponry: Sword, Lance, and armour. Helm with antlers
Military Strength: The Stormlands can raise 30,000 men
Biography: Renly was the youngest of the three sons of Lord Steffon Baratheon and Lady Cassana Estermont, he grew up at Storm's End. Only a boy of six at the time of Robert's Rebellion, he spent the war under siege in Storm's End, together with his older brother, Stannis, where he was witness to the desperation of the starving garrison. As a boy, Renly loved bright colors and fabrics. He loved games as well, and would run laughing through the halls of Storm's End. By his older brother Robert, Renly was eventually granted the seat of Storm's End and named Lord Paramount of the Stormlands, upsetting Stannis, who felt that, as the elder of the two, Storm's End was his by right. When Renly turned sixteen, he made a lord's progress across the stormlands to mark his coming of age. During this progress, he also visited the isle of Tarth, where Renly courteously danced with Brienne of Tarth. Princess Arianne Martell recalls that Renly also visited Sunspear once. She had tried her best to seduce Renly, but remembers that he had seemed more bemused than inflamed by her attempts. During his time as Lord of Storm's End, Renly took Loras Tyrell as his page and squire, This was likely the start of their clandestine love affair. Although not widely known, their forbidden relationship is known to various others at court. Renly was eventually named to the small council, where he occupied the position of master of laws. While he is at court, his castellan at Storm's End is Ser Cortnay Penrose, who raises King Robert's bastard son, Edric Storm, for them. While King Robert I Baratheon's procession is returning from Winterfell, Renly meets up with them, accompanied by Ser Barristan Selmy, Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, and the King's Justice, Ser Ilyn Payne.[6] Deeply amused by Prince Joffrey Baratheon's accusations against Arya Stark's direwolf Nymeria, Renly is forced to leave the room at Darry, laughing at the thought of Joffrey being disarmed and beaten by a girl smaller and younger than him. Renly performs well in the Hand's tourney, losing to the Hound, Sandor Clegane. While Robert lies dying after being wounded in the kingswood, Renly approaches Eddard and suggests they seize control of the royal children before Queen Cersei Lannister can strike. Eddard refuses the offer, and Renly flees King's Landing along with Loras. After Robert's death, Renly manages to win the support of powerful House Tyrell and many of their bannermen through a secret love affair with Loras and a marriage to his sister Margaery. Renly is crowned Lord of the Seven Kingdoms at Highgarden.

History of the House (At least two well written paragraphs please):

The History of House Bloodfyre is peculiar and started during an illicit visit between a young maester in training and a daughter of the then Lord Hightower in the year 215 AC. The pair corresponded and frequently met for political discussion, philosophical discussion, and intimate encounters. It was during the year 215 AC, however, that the young maester learned that his special friend had been found to be with child. He couldn't claim it as his own, no matter how much he wished it. If he had, the Citadel would strip him of his chain links and send him away, a disgrace to his family. In the early part of 216, the babe was born. A boy, silver of hair and purple of eyes. The lady, weakened by the birthing, named the boy Aemon. She would pass away days later from fever leaving the young boy to the mercy of her father.

It didn't take long for Lord Hightower to determine what was happening after he went through his daughter's things. Letters to the Targaryen Prince that was studying at the Citadel were revealing enough. He met in secret with the Prince and told him of the events that had unfoled. Aemon was struck with grief, but the Lord Hightower suggested he continue his maester training and that the boy will be raised in House Hightower as if he were born in wedlock, so long as Aemon always remembered that House Hightower was loyal to the Crown.

Agreeing to this, Aemon would go on to forge the remaining links of his chain by 19 and would eventually make his way back to the crownlands to serve as Maester of Dragonstone. His son, Aemon, would initially be raised under the surname Hightower, until his sixteenth nameday when he was told whom his real father was. However, due to the nature of his birth, he was more Hightower than Targaryen and was given a choice. Start a Cadet Branch, loyal to House Hightower, or join the Night's Watch to be with his father. It was difficult, but Aemon chose to live in the south and aid House Hightower to the last of his days. He was married to a woman named Desmera Redwyne and founds House Bloodfyre the following year. The two were happy enough and the marriage produced several children including a boy in the year 245 AC. This boy was named Daeron. His sisters were married off long before he reached maturity. In the year 260, Daeron and his father fight in the War of the Ninepenny Kings. Here Daeron watches his father fall before Maelys the Monstrous only to have Barristan Selmy kill the monstrous Blackfyre before he had a chance of his own at the pretender King. Daeron marries a wealthy Lysene noblewoman after the war, which helps to fill the coffers of House Bloodfyre.

In 262 AC, Daeron commissioned the Bloodspyre Castle to be constructed north of Oldtown using the money he inherited from his wife's family. It was a formidable castle, standing guard over a stretch of road that had been a known trouble area. Almost as soon as construction finished a small town, made up of former workers, prostitutes, farmers, and migrants settled in the area around the castle. The town lacked a name until 263 when Daeron and his wife had a son they named Aurane. The town then named itself Auror in honor of the new heir of House Bloodfyre. Two more sons followed Aurane, Aegon in 264 and Lucerys in 265. The couple never had a daughter. Their son Aurane married a lesser branch of House Tyrell in the year 281. Later that same year, their younger sons Aegon and Lucerys were both betrothed. Aegon to a girl from House Rowan and Lucerys to Lynesse Hightower.

However, in the year 282 AC, the Usurper Robert raised his flag in rebellion against the Iron Throne. With their family roots in House Targaryen, and their lords following the Red Dragon, House Bloodfyre marched with House Tarly against the rebel Stormlords near Summerhall. 7500 men loyal to the Bloodfyres fought against the stormlords and were victorious in battle, but the price was too great. Lord Daeron died in battle along with his sons Aegon and Lucerys. Aurane was badly wounded and would only fully recover after the war. He did however come home to a surprise at the end of the war. His wife was pregnant when he left and she gave birth to twins, a girl and a boy she named the girl Rhaenys and the boy Daemon. The start of his new family to replace his old one was one way that Aurane could recollect himself. Over the next several yes the couple had several more children. A girl named Visenya, born in 285; a boy named Aegon born in 286; and finally another girl in 288 whom they named Baela. It was after the birth of Baela that Daeron's wife fell ill. Her passing was hard on both him and the many children.

In 289 AC, Aurane once again took up arms. This time, alongside the new Baratheon King against the Ironborn whom decided to declare themselves an independent realm. Not out of love for the new King, but out of duty to his own Liege Lords. They fought and won victory after Victory across the Iron Islands. Aurane was again wounded in battle, but this time he finished the war at the frontlines fighting in the siege of Pyke and bringing home many war trophies for his heir Daemon. In the years since, the town of Auror grew in size and wealth and in 294 Lord Aurane ordered a wall to be built around the town to further protect it.

In 299 AC, King Robert dies after a hunting accident. Aurane had never been happier since his father's own death. However, soon the realm is divided. Aurane remembers the last time this happened. He readied his men and awaited his lord's orders. When they arrived, he was confused. They were supporting a member of House Baratheon. He was disappointed, but he raised his banners, only gathering the minimum required and proceeded to Highgarden with his son Daemon whom was newly knighted.

Early Life
Born in 264 AC, Stannis was the second born child of Lady Cassana Estermont and Lord Steffon Baratheon of Storm's End. He had an older brother, Robert, and a younger brother, Renly.

When Stannis was no more than four years old, his father took him and his brother Robert to court. There, Stannis believed he saw King Aerys II Targaryen on the Iron Throne, holding court. Stannis was impressed, and he and Robert agreed that the King had been as noble as the dragons were fearsome. It was years later that Steffon told him that it had been Hand of the King Tywin Lannister whom they had seen, as King Aerys had cut himself on the throne earlier that day and Tywin had taken over for him.

As a lad, Stannis found an injured goshawk, and nursed it back to health. He named the bird Proudwing, but his brother Robert called it Weakwing, as it would never fly higher than the treetops, and never soared. (Robert himself owned a gyrfalcon named Thunderclap, who never missed a strike). Eventually, Stannis's great-uncle, Harbert, convinced him to abandon the bird, stating that Stannis was making a fool of himself with the bird.

Growing up, Stannis always stood in the shadow of his older brother. Whatever Stannis did, Robert had done first, and better. These feelings remained until adulthood. Maester Cressen, who had served as maester at Storm's End, came to care deeply for Stannis, moreso than for his brothers, as he felt Stannis was the one of the three brothers who needed him the most, as Stannis was the most unloved of the three. Even in his youth, Stannis had been an introverted child, who was mature beyond his years, solemn and joyless.

In 278 AC, Stannis's parents were sent on a mission by King Aerys II to Volantis to find a bride for Stannis's cousin, Prince Rhaegar Targaryen, but in this they failed. Cressen, who had been maester at Storm's End during this time, remembers how Lord Steffon had written to him a fortnight before his return, stating that he had found a splendid fool in Volantis, who would delight Robert, and who might even teach Stannis how to laugh, in time. Stannis and Robert were both present at Storm's End when Steffon and Cassana were expected to return from their voyage, looking on from the parapets. When the Windproud came in sight of Storm's End, the two brothers witnessed how the ship was smashed against the rocks in Shipbreaker Bay and swallowed by the sea. Both Steffon and Cassana drowned. According to Stannis, he lost his faith in the Seven that day.

Robert's Rebellion
When his brother Robert returned home to raise the banners, Stannis faced a difficult decision - whether to be loyal to his older brother, and liege, Robert, or to his king, Aerys II Targaryen.[18] Stannis was at Storm's End when Robert returned from the Battle of Summerhall with his prisoners, whom he kept at Storm's End, and eventually befriended. Stannis warned his brother that the men he had befriended were men who had wanted to deliver him to Aerys to be burned; while Stannis would have thrown them in a dungeon, Robert befriended them.

After Robert marched again, forces from the Reach besieged the Baratheon castle. Stannis successfully held against the siege of Storm's End by Lords Mace Tyrell and Paxter Redwyne, which lasted a major part of the war. His garrison held under desperate conditions, only avoiding starvation by the timely intervention of a notorious smuggler, Davos. His cargo of onions and salt fish allowed them to hold the fortress. After the siege was lifted by Lord Eddard Stark, Stannis knighted Davos and, taking him into his service, allowed the landed knight to choose the name Seaworth for his new house. True to Stannis's sense of justice, he also punished Davos for his crimes as a smuggler by removing the first joint from each finger of Davos's left hand, as payment for his past crimes. Davos accepted the punishment on the condition that Stannis carry out the sentence himself, which Stannis did, using a cleaver for a cleaner cut.

Lord of Dragonstone
Following the Sack of King's Landing and the surrender of the Tyrells at Storm's End, the new king, Robert I Baratheon, charged his brother Stannis with building a new fleet to seize the island of Dragonstone, the last stronghold in the possession of House Targaryen. A fierce storm destroyed the Targaryen fleet which had been protecting the island, while Dowager Queen Rhaella Targaryen died in labor at the castle of Dragonstone. Targaryen loyalists smuggled the two Targaryen children, Viserys and Daenerys from the island before Stannis's assault on Dragonstone. Robert blamed Stannis for letting the Targaryen heirs escape, although the two children had been spirited to safety by Targaryen loyalists shortly before Stannis had even set sail.

Stannis was displeased to discover that King Robert had named him Lord of Dragonstone, instead of the wealthier Storm's End, which was given to their younger brother Renly, only a young child at the time. Stannis resented this as an intentional slight, which Queen Cersei Lannister agrees with. According to a semi-canon source, however, Robert had not necessarily meant as such. The island castle was the traditional seat of the heir of the Iron Throne, the Prince of Dragonstone, so the then-childless Robert was granting it to his heir at that time, Stannis. Now the Lord of Dragonstone, Stannis became the head of House Baratheon of Dragonstone.

Stannis was appointed to Robert's small council as well, as the master of ships. A few years later, he wed Lady Selyse of House Florent. During the wedding, King Robert deflowered Selyse's cousin Delena on Stannis's wedding bed, though he claimed he was too drunk to know whose bed it was. This coupling led to the birth of Edric Storm, the only acknowledged bastard of the king. Stannis insisted that he was a blight upon the honor of his wife's house and promptly shipped him off to his other uncle, Lord Renly, at Storm's End.

In 289 AC, during Greyjoy's Rebellion, Stannis commanded the royal fleet and trapped and destroyed much of the Iron Fleet at Fair Isle. Afterwards, he subdued Great Wyk in his brother's name. He also once led a fleet to Sisterton, to suppress smuggling from the Three Sisters. Ser Axell Florent served as Stannis's castellan of Dragonstone for ten years, while Stannis was away at King's Landing.

Despite his loyalty and service to his brother Robert, Stannis feels Robert has given him little in return. Instead of thanking him for holding Storm's End against the Tyrells during the rebellion, he thanked Eddard Stark for lifting the siege instead. Instead of thanking Stannis for capturing Dragonstone for him, Robert blamed Stannis for the escape of the Targaryen children, even though they left Dragonstone before Stannis had set sail. Stannis helped Jon Arryn, Robert's Hand of the King, in ruling the kingdoms but received little or no acknowledgement or thanks from his elder brother, who spent his time, hunting, drinking and whoring, yet when Arryn died, Robert turned for help to his friend Eddard instead of Stannis. Stannis felt that Storm's End, the ancestral seat of House Baratheon, was his by rights after Robert took the throne, and told Robert so on multiple occasions. In due time, Storm's End was given to Renly instead.

At some point, Stannis proposed outlawing brothels, something which King Robert was very much against. Stannis has outlawed prostitution on his island of Dragonstone.

Just prior to the events of A Game of Thrones, Stannis began to suspect that the children of Queen Cersei Lannister were not actually Robert's. Convinced that Robert would not believe him, he confided his suspicions to Lord Jon Arryn. Together, they investigated the matter, visiting several of Robert's baseborn children in the city, and Arryn had begun to gather several proofs when he suddenly died. Stannis believed Cersei had Arryn killed, and when Robert left for the north to name Eddard Stark as his new Hand of the King, Stannis left for Dragonstone. As his maester, Cressen was old and ailing, Stannis sent for a new maester to the Citadel, who arrived mere days before Stannis closed Dragonstone off.

During their investigations, Jon Arryn had agreed with Stannis that his young son, Robert Arryn, would be fostered with Stannis on Dragonstone. However, Jon died before he could bring his evidence before Robert and send his son to Dragonstone.

I wish to be the Daynes of Starfall, but as this point the lord is Edric (Who is.. 12)
I may just go with it, but if feasible I'd like to make him at least 17. Would that be feasible?

I wanted to be Derrick IV Bridgeman. Since Robbert wins the war Derrick would've received lots of land, but maybe it'll be Derrick V Bridgeman.

Name: Braedon Snow
House: N/a
Age: 30
Gender: Male
Titles: The Bastard of Karhold
House: Karstark (sorta)
House Seat: Karhold
House Sigil:
Image
Allegiance paid to: The Karstarks (and indirectly to the Starks)
Appearance: Braedon stands at about 5'10", 172 pounds and is medium built.
Personality: Loyal, Stubborn & Outspoken. Very determined at times.
Skills: Strong military leadership & fighting skills, a strategist as well.
Weaponry:
  • A Steel Arming Sword
  • Chainmail with iron plates attached to the chainmail
  • Chainmail Coif
  • Iron Nasal Helmet
  • Light Leather Armour (worn underneath Chainmail)
  • Wooden Kite Shield infused with iron strands
Military Strength: Given small command of a heavy infantry unit consisting of 50 men
Biography:

The mainly hidden and forgotten about bastard son of Rickard Karstark, ever since his birth, Braedon has been frowned upon by various people, both smallfolk and high born alike. From this, Braedon continuously worked as a child and into his early teens to become competitive, and to try to be known for something else other than "Rickard's Bastard". Eventually, Braedon managed to work himself into a fighter, competiting in both tournaments and participating in raids against bandits and any smallfolk arrogant enough to try and rise up against the Karstarks. Braedon has developed an immense military training throughout his time, being respected mainly by his men and the people he serves beside rather than the general populace.

When Braedon was 20, from his increasingly improving performance as a soldier, Rickard eventually agreed to allow Braedon to command a small detachment of Karstark men to lead a raid on a small smuggler port just to the immediate South-East of Karhold. While many believed that the Bastard of Karhold would fail to even find the very secluded port, Braedon was able to locate and destroy the port, while arresting or killing the smugglers. Of course, this impressed the aging Rickard. Braedon was given command of a few Karstark men permanently in order to serve as an infantry commander for the House, even though he was told bluntly he would never be legitimized.

Fast forward a year to when Braedon had turned 21. With the Greyjoy Rebellion in full swing, Braedon was loaned to Lord Eddard Stark as one of the many men to represent House Karstark during the war. Braedon performed well, fighting in both the Siege of Pyke and in various skirmishes against the Ironborn. From his combat experience gained during this time, Braedon was once again praised by Rickard but withheld his ambition of finally becoming a Karstark. However, Braedon still holds this ambition close to his mind, constantly training and looking to improve in order to become a Karstark, either now or in the future.

RP Example: 1; 2; 3
Notes: Braedon is going to be used more as an infantry commander as well as a POV character during battles with the Starks.

May or may not do a full Karstark application in the future, so would you mind if I just reserved them for now?

App:
Name: Robb Stark
House: Stark
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Titles: Lord of Winterfell, King in the North, Self-appointed Warden of the North.
House: Stark
House Seat: Winterfell
House Sigil: A Direwolf head on a White and Lime-Green shield.
Allegiance paid to: House Stark of Winterfell.
Appearance: Robb in his Armor with a Cloak. Robb's Crown
Personality: Work In Progress.
Skills: Superb General, Skilled Swordsman, Inspiring Leader.
Weaponry: A generic Steel Longsword, as well as an Ironwood Shield sporting the Stark Sigil.
Military Strength: 45'000 Northern Troops, as well as the 45'000 Riverlanders who have joined forces with the north after Hoster Tully bent the knee to his Grandson, King Robb. Meaning that in total Robb would control about 90'000 Soldiers in total.
Biography: (From Westeros.org)
Robb was conceived during the first fortnight of the marriage of Lord Eddard Stark and Lady Catelyn Tully[5] - on the wedding night, according to Catelyn.[6] While Eddard rode south to fight in Robert's Rebellion, Catelyn remained at Riverrun while she was pregnant with Robb, which is where he was born,[5][7] with Maester Luwin assisting with the birth.[8] Robb was born near the end of the war, and after it ended Catelyn travelled to Winterfell with Robb.[7]

Robb was raised at Winterfell as his father's heir, and is the closest of companions with his half-brother Jon Snow.[7] Robb and Jon trained together at arms ever since they were big enough to walk, and played at being mighty knights and heroes.[9] Once, Robb and Jon built a great mountain of snow above a gate. They were spotted by a brother of the Night's Watch who had accompanied the visiting Lord Commander Qorgyle, who promised not to tell on them. The two boys eventually dumped the snow on Fat Tom, the slowest of Lord Eddard's household guards, who had chased them around afterward.[10] After Greyjoy's Rebellion in 289 AC, Eddard brought a hostage home, Theon Greyjoy. Over the years, Robb came to regard Theon and enjoy the elder boy's company.[11][12] Theon joined Robb and Jon in their training at arms,[13] and Robb and Theon trained at swordfighting at the staircases of Winterfell.[14]
RP Example: You know me brah.
Notes: Brandon Stark (At Winterfell), Rickon (At Winterfell), Sansa Stark (Captive at King's Landing), Arya Stark (At King's Landing, preparing to escape), Jon Snow (If some git decides to visit the Wall for whatever reason), Sandor Clegane? (If no-one else claims Sandor, I would like to take him as an Aux for travelling with Arya.), Non-Player Northern Lords, Commanders, and Courtiers.

I may just go with it, but if feasible I'd like to make him at least 17. Would that be feasible?

Why Seventeen? Robb was 15 when he became the Lord Paramount of the North when his Father was executed, and by the time he was 16 he had had the Weirwood Crown placed on his head by one of his Bannermen.
