Character History: Alfred 'Alfie' Byrnes was born into a life of extreme poverty, with his parents removed from work for opposing the European takeover and for taking part in demonstrations against the European Federation. Due to this, Alfie has grown up with a considerable hatred and contempt for the European Federation and its continued ownership of the United Kingdom, as well as to those that willingly call themselves European.
Despite this, Alfie has benefited from the existance of the European Federation, utilising the access to education to obtain information of military studies and even served five years as an officer within the EuroFed Army, where he gained practical knowledge of military life and the tactics used by the European Armed Forces. While serving in the Army, he came into contact with a number of like-minded individuals that wished for British Independence from the European Federation and formed the Independence Army of the United Kingdom with them, smuggling weapons from the European Army and into rebel hands.

RP Example: [spoiler=Johannes de Bruin was not an easy going man. Every move he made had been pre-planned and organised, and almost each outcome thought of. Such precaution gave the man a level of respect among his peers, friendly or not so friendly, many were careful when he became quiet. Such was the respect he was given, the Suid-Alfashir Security Forces often asked for his presence during military meetings or restructuring, after all he was the mastermind behind the Fireforce tactic that had suppressed the black nationalist movement in the early 90s, following decades of attrition.
He often kept his past achievements behind him so that he could continue to focus on the present and future, as was his job. Now was another reason for him. The Suid-Alfashir Security Forces had once again invited him to the Defence Ministry building in Veilig to formulate a plan of intervention in the Beruiti Civil War. For some reason this issue was significantly more difficult to solve than most of the other ones he had faced. This time, however, there were other countries to factor in, some predictable, others less so.
Regardless, he came up with a idea that could make launching airstrikes or funding significantly easier, or at the very least mess with Beruiti. Arriving at the Ministry Building, he was quickly ushered inside by various aides that knew the layout of the building far better than he did, despite the amount he visited. After minutes of walking down a mess of twists and turns through corridors, they eventually arrived in front of a large wooden door with 'Planning Room' carved into the top of the doorframe.
The interior of the room was far grander, with images of past victories and glories carved into the marbled walls, and the Suid-Alfashir flag clearly hung in display. In the centre of the room was a large wooden table which was surrounded by a huddle of military uniformed men, leaving Johannes feel slightly underdressed in his simple suit and tie.
"Ah, Mr de Bruin, you've arrived" the violently friendly voice of General Koos Kotze called out, quickly bringing the room to near silence except for the sounds of quick strides being made his way. Before Johannes could respond, he had been embraced in a spine crushing hug by the General, whom he had known for a good many years before military matters had made their friendship useful "It has been too long, my friend. I wish we could talk more, but the blasted Ontaarden in Beruiti require our more immediate attention" he said, his voice someone still maintaining a vicious friendliness to it.
"Y-yes, yes, that would be best" de Bruin managed, taking deep breathes after the hug. He shook his head before walking towards the table "Currently, we cannot legally bomb the Beruiti communists without it devolving into a...well...a shitshow." he said, with many of the officers nodding their heads in agreement "Instead, I believe we declare the Ontaarden Communist Government as invalid and not who we recognise as the current government and instead recognise the political wing of Free Beruiti as the sole government. Therefore we do not run the risk of declaring war against the Ontaarden." he said finishing as the head of the table. The fellow generals looked at each other, before one spoke up
"How will our lone denunciation of the Ontaarden government prevent another country from declaring war on us or unrecognising our government?" he asked Johannes. As if expecting the question, he spoke without hesitation
"We are part of the KSA, are we not?" he asked, looking at the nodding heads of the generals "Then we get the rest of the KSA to unrecognise the Ontaarden. Our united front should deter anyone from attacking us" he answer, with a small applause emitting from the gathered generals.
Within a few hours, a motion was out forth in the Senaat that would decide the legal standing of the Communist Government in the eyes of the Gratis Suid-Alfashir Republiek[/spoiler]
