ATHENA: Fall of Europe OOC (RESET) - Semiclosed

Postby Tiltjuice » Mon Apr 25, 2016 9:15 pm

Disclaimer - This RP is a hard reset to the very start of the original Fall of Europe. Characters will need to be re-apped. Other little details here and there are different from the original, as well, but they’ll all be minor changes. The ET ATHENA faces won’t all be known from the beginning. Also, the RP ideally would be fairly quick-moving on average. Please apply only if you plan to be active. Thanks!

What to expect - an RP that’s more character-driven than plot-driven (or so I hope). I’ve tried to set up the plot for you guys, let your chars react to it in a “military procedural” kind of way.

This isn’t to say that it’ll be hyperrealistic or techno gun porn. It’s chill.

"This is a story of heroes, of men and women fighting against the odds for something bigger than themselves. But it’s not a story of victory. This is a story of how we lost.

This is how Europe fell."

IC

The Athena Program
Advanced Tactical HAZOPS and Extraterrestrial Neutralization Agency
SUCCESSOR TO Vancon's Athena RP AND RESET OF Bentus’ ATHENA: Fall of Europe.

We know of our fate,
from the very beginning...

1st January 2025:
An alien invasion force makes landfall in Copenhagen, Denmark. The local military is quickly overwhelmed and the invasion pours over the borders into Germany and Sweden.

3rd January 2025
The German government declares that it is calling upon Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty, bringing NATO into official open conflict with the aliens for the first time.

Like hell we can keep this a secret now.

As you probably now know, first contact with an intelligent alien race was made on January 1st, 2020 during the Moscow incident. First on the scene were law enforcement; poor bastards never even stood a chance. Up against technology that dwarfed ours by comparison and capabilities that we could only begin to understand at the time, pardon my French, but things were looking pretty shit. Fortunately for all of us, the world had an answer to extra-terrestrial aggression: Athena.

Now, the media’s done a proper circus since Copenhagen, so I know you’ve heard the stories – and trust me when I say that they’re true. These guys and gals are some mean sons-of-bitches who got real good and killing aliens and splattering their brains across the dirt at the start of the decade. While the rest of us wooed over the newest iPhone or celebrity heartthrob, they were out there fighting and dying in the mud. And you know what? They bloody won.

Probably would have been better if they hadn’t.

Once a problem goes away, it’s all too easy for those in power to forget about it – especially when it’s as well covered up as this. Athena was a nuisance, a reminder that politicians had to think about something bigger than their next Goddamned election or opinion poll, so they got axed pretty quick. Hell of a thanks for their efforts.

As usually happens with such things though, karma came around and bit us. Copenhagen went down pretty fast: half a million butchered in the first day alone and an entire country lost. It wasn’t until they’d carved their way through half of Germany that we managed to stop them, and even then we didn’t have the numbers to hold if the Yanks hadn’t come over when they did. With the good ol’ US of A starting to fly in reinforcements and a couple of weeks of quiet, a couple of us started thinking about taking the fight over no-man’s land, but we never got the chance.

They hit us hard, like nothing that we’d been expecting. Chains of command were tossed aside as the line fell in a dozen places at once – it was hard to tell if ET was in front of you, behind you, or both. All of our defences, our fortifications, collapsed overnight. Athena got hit soon after that, gunned down in their homes when an alien force struck the Netherlands.

It wasn’t pretty, the days and weeks that came after that. Most of us forgot about putting up a fight when we started to only get static on the radio, it was all about surviving.

And running. We did an awful lot of running.

Hey guys, a new alien invasion RP inspired by Vancon’s Athena. After beating back the first wave, Athena is wound down by the governments of the world until a full-blown alien invasion lands in Denmark. Over the course of the next few weeks, defensive lines crumble as all of Europe becomes overrun by the invaders.

This RP will follow a group of survivors, based originally in the Netherlands, as they try to make their way towards what they hope will eventually be friendly territory – all the while looking for some way to delay the enemy advance and carrying out missions throughout the world.

The characters are more likely to be involved with the military, although I’m not going to explicitly say that they all have to be professional soldiers. You could have your character be a surviving Athena operative (I’m allowing apps of chars from earlier RPs), a member of a national army taking part in the defence, or someone with a more civil role who survived the initial attack (base psychiatrist, Athena scientist, police officer, etc).

Enjoy!

Background Timeline

1st January, 2020
First Contact is made in Moscow – the hostile alien incursion leaving a number of military and law enforcement personnel dead and wounded. In the following hours, world governments fully mobilise the Athena Program.

21st January, 2020
The first recorded shooting down of a UFO. All survivors are eliminated at the crash site by Athena operatives.

5th April, 2020
Athena operatives capture the most intact example of an alien spacecraft to date during a major incursion in Beijing. Despite civilian casualties and the destruction of an office building, events are kept secret under the guise of a terrorist attack.

21st December, 2020
Reverse-engineered technology allows for the development of the Near Earth Monitoring Array to detect UFOs entering the Earth-Moon system long before they enter the atmosphere. Finally, Athena starts to get one step ahead of the enemy.

24th April, 2021
With the completion of the NEMA and the establishment of interceptor bases across the globe, the number of UFOs making landfall is drastically reduced as abduction cases plummet.

12th February, 2022
Athena launches an attack on a large alien encampment in South America, destroying the structure and its inhabitants in a major operation.

23rd November, 2023
With no UFO sightings for over a year, world governments start to wind down their funding for Athena.

2025
  • 1st January - An alien invasion force makes landfall in Copenhagen, Denmark. The local military is quickly overwhelmed and the invasion pours over the border into Germany.
  • 3rd January - The German government declares that it is calling upon Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty, bringing NATO into official open conflict with the aliens for the first time.
  • 5th January - A defensive line is established in Germany, and a stalemate emerges as rapid-response forces from America reinforce European armies.
  • 10th January - A massive alien attack overwhelms the defensive lines. The alien forces sweep through Scandinavia and the northern two-thirds of Germany, with Athena’s main base in the Netherlands hit simultaneously and destroyed. The single largest retreat in human history begins.

2026
Europe falls.

Rules
- You know the drill, standard NS rules apply.
- Your character CAN die, although I will make it a policy not to kill off anyone without having an OOC discussion via TG first - unless you do something really stupid on multiple occasions without running it by me first ;)
- On the note of PC death, if you are willing to have your character die, or want to have some suitably dramatic build-up, pop off a TG.
- Multiple characters are allowed. Not more than 2 per player to avoid excess flood, though.
- I would prefer it not to have anime character pics used for character appearances.
- Have fun, and of course, don't be a dick.

Major Enemies

Alien Collective

Size - Unknown, but suggestively massive.
Hostility - Isn't it obvious?
HQ - Unknown
Appearance of OPFOR - See the Almanac.
Info
An assortment of alien races and communities that work together to fight the human menace. From what we understand, their goals are to take our resources and enslave us. Cheesy story, but it's real people. They feel like they deserve to own us. Like hell we'll let that happen. They seem to have no base of operations, and no reason that links everything together, save for what's mentioned above.

ARES Division
American Rapid Extraterrestrial Support Division

Size - Medium Large
Hostility - Extreme. If you're against the aliens, then you're against them.
HQ - Chicago, USA
Appearance of OPFOR - See here
Info
We understand this group way less then the aliens. For some reason, they aspire to help out the aliens. They've been attempting to get their alien overlords to connect here for years, and now they've said yes. They seem to desire to come and save the aliens. During Operation Blue Night, there was evidence of them being there and beckoning for the OPFOR to come. While their motives are still not fully understood, it is clear that ARES have some very powerful, very wealthy backers. They are not to be underestimated.

SETH
Special Egyptian Transporters of Hazards

Size - Small
Hostility - High. Will shoot anything in the path of their progress.
HQ - Alexandria, Egypt.
Appearance of OPFOR - See here
Info
An Egypt-based company that transports high value items from point A to point B. Only problem is, the corrupt officials at the head of this company and their friends after the Egyptian Crisis are now all buddy-buddy. Now SETH's bosses desire some alien tech so they can transport objects more quickly and more safely. This group is not about violence unless it is necessary to protect their products.

DRAPEAU
La Division de la Recherche Psionic des Extraterrestres Avancé
----
Extraterrestrial Psionic Research Division: Advanced

Size - Large
Hostility - Low, but if caught they will immediately resort to psionic violence.
HQ - Reims, France
Appearance of OPFOR - See here
Info
Some nations have already worked on developing weapons based on the Psionic powers shown to us by the aliens. One of these nations is France. They have begun to harness powers like mind control and hard light. They have given these powers to secret operatives and are sending them on field missions to other first world countries to gain power and intelligence over them, or sending them to third world countries to destabilize governments. While Athena has engaged with Drapeau multiple times over the years, they have yet to find conclusive proof to confront the French government with their activities, and with France being a major financial supporter of the Athena program, some think that it may be in everyone's best interest to look the other way this time.

RSRW / Razor Wire
Romanian Special Resources Wing

Size - Medium Large
Hostility - Low, but will fight when provoked
HQ - Timisoara, Romania.
Appearance of OPFOR - See here
Info
Unlike the crazy American cultists, Egyptian Transport Tycoons and the power hungry French, the Romanians are rather normal. They too want to get the aliens out of here, but for different reasons. They want to have a person in most of the world's governments so they can know all. Simply put, the aliens are competition for the heads of Razor Wire.

Significant Allies
Task Force Atlas

Size - Medium-Small
Hostility - Medium-Low. Potential ally.
HQ - TBD
Appearance of OPFOR -
Image

Info: A multinational team made up of top-notch special-forces soldiers from all corners of the world in order to combat terrorism, carry out deniable operations, and complete various other objectives. While these soldiers, and even the government of some of the participating nations, are completely oblivious to the presence of any alien existence, they have been ordered to combat the growing threat from various militant human factions. If met in the field, attempt to ally with them rather than shoot-first. While not having the modifications or anti-alien training that Athena personnel posses, they are still Tier-One Operatives and could be reliable allies...
-By URA

SEAMF - Sea Mice
South East Asian Militia Forces

Size - Large
Hostility - High. Will engage all other parties in an encounter.
HQ - Jayapura, Indonesia
Appearance of OPFOR -
Image
A group of well armed Sea Mice

Info
Tired of the ever-corrupt governments of their nations, these citizens joined together to form one of the largest militias in recent history. Hailing from humble farmers to even high ranking businessmen, they are armed with whatever they capture, and will fight to the death for what they believe in.

They aren't as well trained as your average military personnel, but it's a common motto that experience is the best teacher. It doesn't matter where you come from, or what background you have; these people just need more guns firing. With recent rumors coming from ex-governmental members about aliens, the leaders of the movement were interested and also worried about another possible oppressor intruding into their lives.

Střediska pro Cizí Kontakt
- Centers for Alien Contact - SCK

Size - Medium-Small
Hostility - High, though they are potential allies.
HQ - Prague, Czech Republic
Appearance of OPFOR - Here
Info: The SCK was formed before Moscow, and it's primary function is containment. Much like ATHENA, though it's sole recruitment pool is the Czech 601st SKSS, the same regiment from which an ATHENA operator was recruited. The SCK was originally a center for alien disease control, and as such was a low budget concern. However, in the aftermath of First Contact, it's role has changed. It is now a combat/intelligence group focused in the Central European area. Though many of the threats that it responds to are not inside the CR's borders, if there's a remote chance of the homeland being threatened, the SCK is assuredly there. Currently, based on declassified regimental reports from the 601st, the SCK has about seventy operators, divided into seven teams. We've codenamed each team with a day of the week. We know that they have had multiple skirmishes with Razor Wire infiltrators, and have yet to engage an alien force.

NATO JSOC Spectrum

Size - Medium sized
Hostility - Very Low, Allied.
HQ - Brussels, Belgium
Appearance - Visual Aid
Info:
Formed in early 2016 to combat rising threats by ISIS in NATO countries, they are a collection of operatives from various NATO tier one teams, as well as counter-terrorist groups, due to this they are equipped with top of the line equipment. Their purpose is to stop any insurgent threats in any NATO country, as such they will respond to any human based threats in those countries, hopefully leaving us room to breathe in regards to the Extra-Terrestrial threat.

Crew, HNLMS Holland

Size - Small
Hostility - Low, Allied.
HQ - Shipborne
Appearance - Visual Aid
Info
The crew of the Royal Netherlands Navy patrol vessel HNLMS Holland, detailed to support Athena’s immediate response to ET’s landings.

ORPHAN Force // Task Force 48

Size - Minute
Hostility - Low, Potential Ally
HQ - Amman, Jordan
Appearance of OPFOR - Just two operatives in obvious SpecOps Gear.
Info
Following the need of an international Special Ops Task Force to handle the increased bombings by claimed ISIS and other terrorist organizations, a select few countries gathered to propose a combined venture of information sharing and an integrated Counter-Terrorism Force not held by any red tape. Kept secret from all but the Presidential Heads and National Leaders of the World, the Operational Recon Platoon - Heavy Advanced Network (ORPHAN Force, publicly known as Task Force 48) was created between 2009 and 2012, pulling in a thousand orphans without siblings via 'accidents', rendering them dead to society. Trained in brutal conditions to be the perfect soldiers, the first batch of the Orphan Force consisted of 300 teenagers ready for deployment. Within a year of operations, only 200 survived to be formally blooded. With four batches of trainees, the Orphan Force became a frequently used special ops group in surgical strikes, abductions and global support missions, cutting the heads of many terror groups worldwide.

Support for the group at the start of the first Alien invasion, when funding went to ATHENA, but resumed in 2024. In 2025, the remaining 81 operatives under the name of Task Force 48 were sent to Europe to reinforce the line, but within a week, only one operative remained alive, missing in action.

Pierre’s Tacos & Burritos, HNLMS Holland

Size - Minute
Hostility - Only to your GI tract, and only if you pick the Ghost Chili Taco.
HQ - Shipborne
Appearance - Visual Aid
Info
Formerly a taco and burrito seller with a cart just outside the grounds of the American Embassy in Sweden. He sold Friday night dinners to Stockholmers and meals in general to the diplomatic staff, and set up shop aboard HNLMS Holland in response to complaints from certain members of ATHENA about their MREs.

How to be legitimately recognised in NS? Be a proper Roleplayer.
In a community where knowledge should be used to uplift the teachable and be used as an interest instead of a necessity, the arrogant abuse of knowledge is interesting to watch.

Class / Role:Assaulter
Name:Wolfram Herrman
Rank:Sergeant
Age:38
Experience: Canadian Army (2007-2014),Canadian JTF2 (2014-2020) ATHENA (2020-).
Height and Weight: 6'2 feet, 223lbs
Appearance:Visual Aid
Bio: He was Born March 9 1988, near Freiburg, Germany to a businessman and a real estate agent. Nearly three years after Wolfram was born, his mother died from a brain aneurysm. His father was left to hire a nanny, due to the assorted business trips he took. Due to this, Wolfram never gave much affection to his seemingly always absent father. When he was a thirteen his father went on his last business trip, a certain trip to a certain Big Apple resulted in Wolfram's father being in the WTC North Tower when Flight 11 impacted the building.

From that moment onward, the only family Wolfram had was his nanny, and his uncle in Victoria BC, located in Canada. It wasn't long before Wolfram moved to the Great White North, and it was there he began his new life in an English speaking country. His accent was met with ridicule initially, and he didn't have many friends; but regardless he soldiered on, trying to make the best out of his situation. During his schooling, he not only got a handle on English, but also French. He regularly practiced German at home with his Uncle, and his Nanny (Now Aunt).

When Wolfram finally graduated, he skipped the idea of going to a post secondary education, and simply joined the Canadian military, shortly after gaining his citizenship. He spent some time in Afghanistan with ISAF, and a few other peacekeeping missions around the world as standard infantry for seven years. It was in early 2014 he was inducted into Canada's JTF2 where he provided training and support to the Kurds in Iraq and Syria, helping them curb the tide of ISIS fighters crawling across the Levant.

A fateful day in 2020 gave Wolfram the chance to become the world renowned hero his inner child had always wanted to be. He was Honorably discharged from the Canadian military, and got flown to a dam in Netherlands to join ATHENA. During his time at ATHENA Wolfram became one of the few who survived the whole invasion from start to finish. However the war was not without wounds for the German born man. A close call with a plasma mortar resulted in heavy scarring on the right side of his body from the resulting burns. And a later operation resulted in him receiving a fractured skull, a heavy concussion, as well as skull and bullet fragments to get caught within his frontal lobe. Wolfram then consequently forgot how to speak and write French, and needed help to relearn how to read English in his off time.

His six months of treatment finally ended in early 2021 and his first operation would wound the man irreparably. An alien attack on the city of Victoria resulted in his personal confirmation that his Aunt and uncle had been corrupted by the machinery that the ETs were so fond of using on civilians. He and the team he was with was forced to kill them. This experience had distanced Wolfram from everyone else around him and had drivin him into a bit of a rut for the rest of the campaign.

He fell into a depressed state after ATHENA was put on the chopping block, only the help of the resident Chaplain saved him from the almost inevitable. Wolfram still remains a bit distant, but he became more of a team player again. Just in time for almost everyone at ATHENA to get glassed.

Personality:ISTJ.
Weaknesses: There are still some times he has trouble reading, his right side has persistent itches from time to time.
Skills: He can hold his breath for a long time, he has a very impressive stamina.
RP Example: Am I being detained?
Likes:Mexican food, Southern US food, the sounds of dying aliens, the sounds of living humans, silence (but not too much).
Dislikes: Aliens, ARES (for shooting him in the head), crappy beer.
Hobbies: Reading, killing aliens, experimenting with ammunition.
Theme Song:Audio Aid
Discipline:9
Devotion:10
Riskiness:9
Languages Spoken: English(spoken, literate), German(spoken, literate).

Goddamn it Tilt. Right as I'm about to go to my internet-less cabin! :p

Class: Assault
Name: Marilee Thomas
Rank: Sergeant/OR-6
Age: 28
Experience:
  • 1st Battalion, Royal 22e Régiment (2016-2018)
  • Joint Task Force 2 , CANSOFCOM (2018-2020, 2023)
  • ATHENA (2020-2023, 2025-present)
  • NATO JSCO, Spectrum (2024-2025)
Height and Weight: 5'10", 155lbs
Appearance

Family: Mother, deceased; father, estranged; younger sister, living in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Bio: Marilee was a girl without direction for most of her life. Her mother died giving birth to her younger sister, Melody, which drove their father into a downward spiral of alcohol, drugs, and physical abuse. Marilee and her sister would suffer daily under their father's belt until Marilee turned fifteen, bought a pair of bus tickets for herself and her sister, and put an entire continent between themselves and their father. Marilee earned money as a mule for a local marijuana grower, thankfully never being arrested, though she and her sister often spent many nights hungry. Still, they both continued to attend school, and against all odds both excelled.

Upon graduating, Marilee was worried that her transient past would prevent her from finding a job which would more fully provide for Melody, so she applied and was accepted to the military, subsequently sending the entirety of her pay into a bank account for her sister. Despite signing up for purely economic reasons, Marilee came to build an understanding and appreciation for what the military did. Despite not being able to see her sister nearly as often as she would like, Marilee is happy that Melody has been able to piece together a comfortable life for herself, who has since been hired as technician by a laboratory producing experimental drugs for trial testing; Marilee also appreciates once again having a disposable income.

Marilee's first deployment was in northern Iraq, training Kurdish peshmerga as a part of Operation Impact. Despite ostensibly being a training program, free of any direct conflict, Marilee nonetheless saw a fair amount of front-line combat during her two years in-country; her single-handed routing of a Daesh mortar position saw her awarded the Medal of Bravery. Marilee returned to Canada in 2018, where she won the Queen's Medal for Champion Shot. Soon after she was extended an offer from Joint Task Force 2, to join their ranks, which she accepted. During the following year, 2019, she was assigned protect Canadian diplomatic staff in Ukraine; she received the Star of Courage for evacuating a number of Canadian and Ukrainian ambassadorial staff from Donetsk, after the diplomatic talks that they had been mediating there fell apart, in an incident eerily similar to that which took place two years prior.

The Canadian government was approached a few months after First Contact by the Athena Program, requesting more soldiers to fill... recent openings, within their ranks. The offer was made to Marilee, who accepted; after receiving an expedited honourable discharge from the Canadian military, with the understanding that she could return to JTF2 any time she wished, Marilee joined ATHENA forces in the Netherlands. Her deployments with ATHENA were by and large smaller skirmishes, against forces both alien and human, though she was also deployed in the vanguard to South America during ATHENA's second major offensive against the alien invaders.

As the conflict against the alien invaders began to wind down, Marilee left ATHENA and rejoined JTF2 in 2023; doing much the same work as she had with ATHENA, only this time under a Canadian flag, Marilee was their officially unofficial expert on combating the extraterrestrial threat. In 2024, she was selected to join NATO's JSOC Spectrum task force. In response to the invasion of Germany in 2025 Marilee was deployed to the European front to assist in leading NATO operations on the ground-level. ATHENA immediately approached Marilee to bring her back within their ranks, an offer which she initially refused, due to concern with how her own unit would handle things without her. On January 10th, as alien forces overwhelmed NATO's defensive lines, Marilee entire Spectrum detachment was wiped out. ATHENA once again offered Marilee a place within their ranks, which she accepted this time. Not that it meant much, as ATHENA fell almost immediately after NATO's defensive lines collapsed.

Weaknesses: There are a small number of triggers, relating to the abuse she suffered at the hands of her father, which can induce panic attacks
Skills: Marilee can take a punch like nobody's business, and is very situationally aware
Likes: Strong beer, bar fights, and loud music
Dislikes: Formal etiquette, seafood, rain
Tastes: Quick and easy foods; MRE's, microwave meals, instant noodles, and the like
Hobbies: Drawing, singing, rock climbing
Languages Spoken: English (fluent), French (fluent), Kurdish (passing), Ukrainian (passing)

Class: Scout (Officer)
Name: Chloe Hath
Rank: Lieutenant/OF-1
Age: 33
Experience:
  • 1st Battalion, Royal 22e Régiment (2010-2012)
  • Joint Task Force 2 , CANSOFCOM (2012-2020)
  • ATHENA (2020-present)
Height and Weight: 5'6", 135lbs
Appearance

Family: Mother and father in PEI, older sister in Vancouver.
Bio: Chloe was a girl without direction for most of her life. Despite (or perhaps to spite) her loving, middle-class family, Chloe spent her teen years engaging in petty larceny, vandalism, trespassing, and all other assorted small legal infractions. For a small while she ran with a gang, silently breaking into houses or shops so that they could steal any unlocked valuables. While doing so she developed an aptitude for spotting vulnerabilities in consumer-level security systems, and for bypassing various lock and alarm systems. The experience was mostly trial-and-error, and she ended up in front of a judge three times before her fourteenth birthday. Her third visit to court left her with an ultimatum: shape up, or get shipped to juvie. Not particularly keen on either option, Chloe changed tack, lost her gang affiliation, and did freelance casing work for whomever was willing to pay. Thankfully her work paid well, because she also moved out of her parent's home around this time, frustrated by the constant fights she would get into with them - she fell out of touch with her family, as a result of this. Chloe received work and pay anonymously, thanks to a system of encrypted emails, internationally routed internet traffic, and good old-fashioned dead drops. She was almost caught a handful of times, but as she only ever used publicly available computers (such as those at a library) she was able to evade the police each time.

It was only in her final year of high school, a few months before her eighteenth birthday, that she gave any thought to what she wanted to do with her life. Realizing that her grades were far too poor to even be considered by a post-secondary institution (not that she wanted to go, in any case), she applied to the Canadian military. After arriving, Chloe realized that she greatly valued the strict discipline and structure that came with military life, and found a burning passion to be the best damn soldier she could possibly be. During her training Chloe underwent a period of deep introspection, eventually coming to the conclusion that she had been (surprise-surprise) a complete shit to her family. After completing Basic, Chloe reconnected with her mother, father, and sister, and attempted to reconcile and heal old wounds. However, before any serious headway could be made Chloe was deployed to Afghanistan for two years, and she once again lost contact with her family.

Chloe saw combat on a regular basis in Afghanistan. Through the first months of 2010 she participated in Operation Moshtarak, followed soon after by Operation Dragon Strike, and Operation Baawar. Chloe's actions during Operation Mostarak - braving an IED laden field to retrieve a young Afghan child - earned her the Medal of Bravery, Canada's third highest award for bravery. After her tour in Afghanistan was over Chloe was selected to join JTF2. In 2014, she recieved the Queen's Medal for Champion Shot. Deployed to Syria in 2016, Chloe received the Medal of Military Valour, for actions undisclosed. The next year, in 2017, she received the Star of Courage for evacuating a number of Canadian and Ukrainian ambassadorial staff from Donetsk, after the diplomatic talks that they had been mediating there fell apart.

Chloe was approached the day after First Contact by the Athena Program. After receiving an expedited honourable discharge from the Canadian military, with the understanding that she could return to JTF2 any time she wished, Chloe joined ATHENA forces in Oosterscheldekering. Her first deployment was to Beijing, as a member of the team which secured the crashed alien craft and it's cargo. She surivved the attack on Oosterscheldekering and went on to lead a number of different ops for ATHENA, mostly high risk missions that could brook no error. She was also one of the most senior operatives, and key pieces, of ATHENA's assault in South America.

Chloe stayed on with ATHENA even after they began their draw down in 2023, and after the renewed alien offensive in 2025 was responsible for preparing the wave of new recruits for combat. Despite her best efforts, ATHENA did not last long against the veritable tidal wave of alien forces which swept across Europe, after breaking through NATO lines. Chloe was leading a small team on a surgical strike in Germany at the time, and in the resulting confusion and chaos lost contact with her squad and ATHENA command. She has not been seen or heard from since, and is listed as M.I.A.

Weaknesses: Claustrophobic
Skills: The sneakiest of all sneaky sneak-thieves, ie. she's really good at not being seen.
Likes: Fine wines, good books, and loud music
Dislikes: MRE's, dancing, and messy rooms
Tastes: Warm and hearty meals, like Shepard's pie, beef stew, and tourtiere
Hobbies: Knitting, squash, and writing
Languages Spoken: English (fluent), French (fluent), Pashto (passing), Ukrainian (passing).

Since there wasn't a huge interest last time in making a character loaded with a launcher, I'll reuse my prior character.

Class / Role: Rocketeer
Name: Andy Nickolic
Rank: Specialist
Age: 20 (D.O.B. 7/21/2005)
Experience:
  • BCT - Fort Benning, Georgia (2023)
  • AIT (11B) - Fort Benning, Georgia (2023)
  • Airborne School - Fort Benning, Georgia (2023)
  • RASP I - Fort Benning, Georgia (2024)
  • Alpha Company, 2nd BAT, 75th Ranger REG - Joint Base Lewis-McChord (2024-Present)
Height and Weight: 5'11"; 170 lbs.
Appearance: http://i.imgur.com/NwTr9d1.png?1
Family: Mother & Father in Beaverton, OR; Sister in Eugene, OR
Bio: "Sometimes, the best way to get to someone is to offer a warm smile. If that doesn't work: that's why the Army gave me a MAAWS. Extra persuasion power."

In a different time, Andy's life revolved around striving for people's attention. He'd always found himself surrounded by success, and finding a niche in it for himself was hard: his Polish-born father an electronic engineer at Intel, his Norwegian-American mother the co-owner of a landscaping company, his older sister a prodigy juggling religious activities and light-years ahead in schoolwork, his friends growing into talented young football and lacrosse players. And in all of this, Andy had been the odd one: his plump face deep in a book about some obscure war, some military engagement that not even college students would grace over. It might not have been so bad for him if he had been more athletic in his youth, but instead he grew up a military junkie who was overweight and played far too many games.

He proved an easy target in Elementary school. Junior High was more of the same, but by then he at least had started to get a little better at making and keeping friends. That, and his sister, helped a little.

Freshman year was when it all changed. He knew for certain that there was more behind his disinterest in girls than the fact that he wasn't sociable. He realized that he'd never find any sort of solace in a military future if he couldn't even manage his own weight. And he found that he'd never have a place among friends if he wasn't upfront about who he was, and not replicating what he saw around him.

So, Andy strived for himself this time. He lost ten, then twenty, then thirty pounds by his third year. He tried to place what intellectual interest he had in the military also into his academics. He tried out for football with Aloha High School, and while he didn't stay past the first year, it got him the respect of the people who had once put him down. One of them, whose father would turn out to be an Army Recruiter, would be one of his closest friends in high school.

More importantly, Andy learned how to roll with the punches. Eventually, the quiet outcast became known by his friends and his classmates as dependable and warm-hearted, if one who wore his emotions more on his sleeve. It was certainly unusual that an individual such as this would be a candidate for the United States Army, but a recruiter who Andy became earlier acquainted with saw potential, and enough interest to fill the insides of an office. And so, after graduation, Andy was shipped off to Basic with great anticipation - where despite his initial personality, his drive would bring him through the change in mindset that the Army brought with flying colors.

His drive, and the words he had spoken with his recruiter, saw him into Infantry School, then into Airborne School, and finally into Ranger Assessment I - where he finished middle in his class in his first time at the program, and was shuffled into the Second Battalion of the 75'th Ranger Regiment following graduation.

Recently, however, the 2nd Battalion was rapidly deployed to Europe with the sudden onset of the alien invasion. Assigned as a Carl Gustav gunner, Andy's company was intended to execute a nighttime HALO jump on Flughafen Hamburg in the early morning hours of the 11th of January to seize the airport and assist local forces and civilians in-lieu of the new evacuation orders. However, the alien advance managed to move faster than the C-130 did from England: as the aircraft came over Hamburg and the company prepared for the jump, alien anti-aircraft weaponry fired from directly outside of the city and struck the aircraft and the unit mid-jump.

Andy himself avoided being hit, but the company became spread out across the city. He only succeeded in grouping up with a portion of his weapons squad, which immediately made contact en-route to its objective - and with the situation rapidly revealing itself to be rotting away, Andy and his fireteam-sized element escaped the city to evacuate further west, where it eventually joined with a small ATHENA group in Bremen escaping aboard the Holland.
Personality: While military training has a tendency of hardening just about anybody, Andy remains at-heart a warm person. While his brief time in the military and the Rangers especially has molded him into someone with a slightly-darker and wilder sense of humor, he still retains an internally-sensitive nature. At its best, he is able to offer a good set of ears and a comforting shoulder; at its worst, he'll retreat internally, or take a joke the wrong way and treat it as a provocation. Thanks to his efforts at being sociable for several years now, however, Andy has become better at dulling his emotional responses towards negativity into being far more controlled.

However, he is still a social creature at heart: Andy functions for better or for worse on his friends and the people around him, and can become worse with isolation. He works much better with a solid team backing him up in most situations, and consistently will try to do his best to improve cohesion between himself and its members.
Weaknesses: In addition to what has been mentioned underneath the personality section already, Andy underneath significant stress will look to those around him to provide support. Alone, he can succumb to the pressures around him - tempering into a fear of isolation.
Skills: Physically-durable and able to exert a high carrying capacity, thanks to his training in the operation of the CG-M4. He retains a strong focus on 'keeping everyone together', and as such serves as a good supporting figure for those around him.
Likes: Cool/cold weather, firearms, military history, gaming (digital as well as dabbles in pen & paper), conversation, clothing
Dislikes: Muggy/hot weather (RASP was hell for this), consistently-rude people, consistent isolation, bugs of all kinds, anything malicious against his sexuality, politics
Hobbies: Reading, flag football, shooter games, television dramas, firearms collection, crossdressing (a hobby he has succeeded in hiding for roughly three years, and one which if it were revealed he'd likely put an 83mm in the mouth of whomever did so)
Discipline: 7
Devotion: 7
Riskiness: 3
Languages Spoken: English (primary), Polish (scattered, but understands on a semi-fluent level), Norwegian (scattered)
Tastes: Polish Kielbasa/Sausage, Northwestern-US seafood (halibut & Alaskan crab being favorites), American comfort foods
Voice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQ-2GV7l6kA
RP Example: I haven't RP'd for a considerable amount of time, but here are a few examples. I believe that Tilt would also be willing to vouch for me on terms of skill.

Class / Role: Sniper
Name: Odetta Carrius
Rank: Feldwebel/OR-6
Age: 27
Experience: 4 years of enlisted service as a mountain infantryman in Gebirgsjägerbrigade 23 Bayern, 10th Panzer Division, Heer, Bundeswehr. 3 years of the ATHENA program, and 2 more years as second-in-command of a reconnaissance platoon in Gebirgsaufklärungsbataillon 230.
Height and Weight: 168 cm and 66,2 kg (5.51 ft and 145.9 pounds)
Appearance: Odetta
Bio: The daughter of Leonard Carrius, well known internationally as a master of hunting, she did not want to walk in his shadow; she wanted to cast her own on him. She grew up in a large cabin in the forest near Aachen, and was known to the locals to be a genius who managed to pass every level of education within half the time it took the average child. This meant she had finished her entire 12 grades of schooling in the span of six years. At the same time, she was taught how to survive, shoot, basically Hunting 101 from a true ace.

She joined the Bundeswehr at the age of enlistment. This gave odd looks to her from her female friends who were mostly going to universities, but she had already gained her education from Aachen obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering. Her reasoning for this is very vague, but rumors began brewing in her original unit that she was in it just to kill.

During training, she proved herself very adaptable to harsh conditions, with excellent capabilities in tracking and sharpshooting. She was suggested to join Gebirgsjäger 23, one of Germany's mountain infantry brigades, and was placed in Gebirgsaufklärungsbataillon 230. There she her training continued into predicting enemy movements, calling in ordnance strikes, and eliminating key units before the main force arrived. Her four years of experience had taken her to Egypt, where although she was not yet in front line combat, she had acted as a spotter for aerial missions until finally given permission for live combat patrols. She received multiple commendations for her abilities on the field, and got her promotion very quickly. Later on she would take place in quelling a major uprising along the southern border of Germany, using her abilities to trace rebel leaders and eliminate them. Problems began to arise however, as fellow countrymen began to see her as a ruthless killer, though in her own words she is "more excited by the hunt than the result".

Several months later, she received an invitation to join ATHENA, and After her first mission to search and rescue a downed pilot, Odetta continued to serve for three more years, until deciding to return to her home country after it appeared that the threat of aliens no longer existed to an extent which would require her assistance. She continued to serve in her original unit, receiving a promotion and almost acquiring officer status. It was then that the aliens once more struck, and she immediately went back into action with ATHENA.

Class / Role: Recon Scout / Hunter (Ex-Agent)
Name: Konayama Miyuki (Black Widow) 'Milky'
Rank: Lance Corporal (Ex-Agent)
Age: 20. January 11, 2004
Experience: 2009-2025, Operational Recon Platoon - Heavy Advanced Network. ORPHAN Force // Task Force 48
Height and Weight: 155cm, 44kg
Appearance:
Konayama Miyuki, Light ORPHAN Fatigues
Konayama Miyuki, Mission Briefing with Special Forces Group (Japan)

There's a reason why she's in the Espionage, the Assassins, the most dangerous job for the most capable of ORPHAN. Throughout the years of body grooming, she emerged as one of the best. Although short and having a small frame to pack all her muscles in, Miyuki is a girl whose body neared what men truly desire. Do not underestimate her, tho. She's the living example of why muscled men die to her quicker than anyone would expect. - ORPHAN Instructor, Former SAS Gurkha.

Bio:

Konayama Miyuki, female. Born in Nara, Japan, twenty-first September on the year two thousand and four. Born to Konayama Kaisho and Watanabe Minami, single child, only daughter.

2008
I went to Nara Elementary, I remember the deers, but not the faces. It was four when my parents died in a terror attack, a bombing on the airliner they were on. I remembered being interred into the orphanage, with many other kids, placed onto a plane, when everything went black. My memory was not clear about the past events... because... because they were dominated by what came after.

2009 - 2018
I was truly born in the camps of the desert. At least, that's where almost a thousand orphans first trained. Tired, weak boys and girls doing hundreds of counts of push ups... sit ups... we did plenty of running, at least a kilometer a day when we first started. Many collapsed, many lagged behind. They were kind at first, guiding us, pushing us on and feeding us well. I was six, when I ran my first kilometer non-stop, vomiting at the end and lying on a pile of sick. I remember that smell to this day, but I was happy, I managed to pass what they tested. One day, they took me and several girls aside, and we trained separately. There were plenty of stretching, twisting... acrobatics. I was forced to do splits and hold them there for minutes. I do remember lying on the ground after every session, joints and muscles burning from the stress. A girl had her muscles torn and taken away, she was never seen again. I never knew her name, but we had little time to know each other. Socializing came at a premium, for we were often eating, working, exercising, training, and sleeping. Our schedules were tightly monitored, and any break in timing could result in a punishment.

We were expected to have eight full hours of sleep every day, waking up at six a.m. From there we would exercise and warm up till seven, and head off for breakfast and have a short rest, during which we could talk a little. We needed to speak softly, men with guns would fire when we got too loud. At eight, we would begin our exercises and training. Each of us were handled by a male trainer, who would keep tabs on our progression every day. If we weren't training on schedule, life got worse. I remember failing to lift an extra five hundred grams of weights, and I was forced to do another fifty push ups as punishment. Despite putting on so much muscle, they made sure that we girls never bulked up. They trained our figures to be small and petite, toned arms without much muscle showing. See these thin arms? They might look weak, but I can carry more than you think I could.

2019 - 2022
Spying missions were assigned to us when we turned fifteen. Espionage, note taking, identification and recognition of facial and technological equipment. Over a hundred weapons, over a hundred faces, by each of us. I keep a tag on them as a run down child orphan, disguised accordingly to where I was assigned. Of course, a Japanese cannot infiltrate everywhere, but the seniors know, and they do not send us out to purposely die. Each of us were an investment.

Fitness training became something of a norm, and I held my first weapon, an M-16 for the first time when I hit sixteen. We trained with handguns, rifles and submachine guns every day. For me, I had to attend psychology and communications classes as part of my 'role', as well as survival and scouting courses. Fitness training changed into specialised forms of regimes. I had to squeeze through tight gaps, and so they designed special equipment for girls. Equipment which bound our chests tight enough to emulate those of men. It's uncomfortable, and it hurts over a long time, but we always helped each other to ensure that we needed to spend only minimal time with those bindings.

I do remember that day, when we were having dinner. There was something mixed into the drink, and I was awake, conscious, but unable to move. Soldiers, those who always kept watch on us girls, they came in and took our bodies for themselves. I remember the feeling of pain, and others. Our bodies, they said, do not belong to us, but to our mission. I cried, but somehow, the pain did not linger for long. Many suffered from trauma, but for me, it was just another incident of pain and punishment. Was this my punishment for being a girl?

Later I learnt, that to persuade men, three things were needed. Money, Power, Woman. Bribes came in the form of money. Respect and status makes up power. Yet the thing which both were needed, was woman. Give a beggar money, he'll spill the beans. Give him power, and he'll learn to trust you, he'll seek out more. Give him Konayama Miyuki, and I will be your fountain of information. Men love women more than other men, unless... they swing the other way.

We heard of the First Contact. However, none of us were sent over to ATHENA. We knew of ATHENA, but ATHENA did not know us. We saw the fighting, the killings. We never thought we would be facing them at that time. Our targets were humans, so we trained to kill humans.

I spent nearly all my life in the desert, and suddenly I was sent to the jungles of Asia for a year. There, I caught dengue fever and nearly died, but somehow I pulled through, and they passed me on to arctic training. It was the hardest, I feel. The cold ripped the moisture from your mouth, and we spent nearly our whole time covered in winter gear. Another year spent in the arctic, and when I hit seventeen, I made it to the South Pole with three other girls. We barely survived the final test, when they made us make our own shelter in normal clothes, without winter gear for a week. They attributed our survival to training, as I killed and skinned seals and used their fat to keep myself warm. Killing animals... by that time it was nearly second nature.

During our last six months of training, they gave us guns and sent us out on our first assault mission. It was to paint a target building for an airstrike. It went off without a hitch, until we realised it was a trap. That day, I scored my first operational kill as an ORPHAN, on a man with a bullet to the chest. I got nine kills during that mission, one with a knife as he was strangling a comrade. A straight thrust into the spine, followed by a sharp twist and upwards jerk to ensure that the spinal cord is severed, and the bones parted. It wasn't easy, but we made it out. We lost ten out of twenty that mission, but it was the first of many more. Our targets were ISIS, MILF and other terrorist groups. We had to operate in all environments, and score perfect success each time we were deployed. If we weren't on mission, we were studying and training. Failure means death, and if we were ever on the verge of failure, they made the teams draw in the enemy, and saturate the area with bombs before sending a secondary team in to clear up the mission and evidence.

2023-2024
When I was older, ORPHAN Command deemed me ready for more assassinations, mostly on solo work. There are plenty of ways to get close with my targets. Most of them would pick me up for a ballroom reception, or a company meeting to be displayed as a prize mistress. For the men, they'd always demand sex of me, but the females have their own agendas too. Here, I learnt to kill with the needle, my hands, or anything present in a hotel room. Don't misunderstand me, my skill in shifting bones has helped people in the past, especially when they were dislocated in some freak accident. I learnt how to track a target, we ORPHANs had to use people, innocent people who were forewarned of their death, as our training targets. From there, we would follow them for days, until we could present a dossier of the target's movements and habits to our superior who would order us to initiate the kill.

My first solo assassination was a Dutch boy, a fan of Japanese culture. It was sad, seeing his face turn pale when he realised that his time was finally up, even when he fled to the favelas of Brazil. He was visible uncomfortable when I met him at the club, but he gradually gave way when I offered to relieve some of his stress and depression for him. He did not know that I was the Assassin. At the very least, I upheld my promise. In a dirty room where there was noise all around during a moment of passion, Konayama Miyuki flipped the boy onto his back, before twisting his neck and breaking it before he could flex. I remember... I remember his muscles tensing up right before the moment of fate.

Of course we knew that we were hunting innocents, but refusal meant expulsion, which often led to death in the streets of society. It was all a process of stripping our own innocence. We of the Orphan Force were no longer people, but tools, weapons. We had a duty to fulfill to those who gave us such a life. This was the belief of every operative, every Agent, of the ORPHAN Force.

I participated in missions nearly every couple of weeks, be it assassinations, or hit-and-run extraction missions. We were on the offensive against the terror groups. While ATHENA fought aliens, we fought humans to prevent their efforts to cripple humanity from within. I was tasked to be a counselor, one who uses her body to acquire information from high value targets. I remember seeing a force of ATHENA at work, having spent a night with a traitor in a hotel when they came bursting into the room. I was careless, and one of them saw me as I rose from the bed to leave. At least I was covered in a sleeping robe, would have been awkward to reveal myself to another agent on a mission. However, I remember the respect I felt emanating towards those operatives, who fought aliens, instead of humans. We of the ORPHAN Force knew our enemies, but they do not, therefore their risk was much higher...

2025

It happened. Task Force 48, or the ORPHAN Force, was deployed to Germany on the 2nd of January. They hit us hard, but we hit them back harder. The entire force, eighty one operators, survivors since 2009, fought day and night against the aliens, sometimes doing aggressive reconnaissance or laying traps in no-man's land. I was a scout for three of these missions, and was nearly killed during the last one. They were ready for our arrival, and I barely escaped with a twisted ankle, and no bullets.

We were there for a week, when all hell broke loose. We were routed and pushed towards France just like how we read the Germans did in World War Two, but this time, the enemy came from Denmark. We were overrun when we were last hit, and I was separated from my Unit, and I knew better than to reveal my position when I was alone with plenty of dead humans all around. Not even the Americans could stop them it seems. When I woke up the next day, it was my birthday. I was formally of age, but I knew that my youth was long gone... Things... will never be the same ever again...

I was lost. All my equipment was damaged. I had to scavenge weapons and equipment, and make my way over the Øresund bridge. My uniform and armour was still intact, but I remembered how the Orphan force was just wiped out in a pitched battle. So off went my armour, but you can't expect a girl to strip off her uniform can you?

Two days before IC

Miyuki met up with a member of the Danish militia after crossing the Bridge, aiming to reach friendly lines while alien activity occurred all around them. However, during their escape, they came across an alien patrol trying to ambush a group of human stragglers. It was during this encounter when they intervened, that an alien grenade exploded too close to Miyuki, and she would surely be wounded had it not been for the soldier who threw himself over her, his big size completely shielding the orphan from the plasma.

Perhaps it was out of gratitude, when all the man could do was whisper words as his mortal wounds began to show, that Miyuki recounted her story to him, while carrying him on her back. It was no easy task, Miyuki could only travel at an extremely slow pace, but they eventually reached a human position manned by ATHENA operatives. Despite being human, Miyuki and the man were hooded and cuffed, before being forced onto a vessel without their knowledge. After all, there were infiltrators, and collaborators, and Miyuki... Konayama Miyuki... has been dead for over sixteen years...

And here, her life of resistance, begins.

Personality: Quiet, Calm, Diligent, Determined.
"Personality? Nanda... What's that? Honestly, after hearing about my past, you'd expect me of all people, to retain something about being a person?" Miyuki leaned back against the tree as she continued to bind the militiaman's wounds, where the dressing has slipped over the night. Miyuki was not the best medic, after all. "I don't speak much. You're an exception, I'd say. Dead men tell no tales right? Just kidding, I made a promise that I'd bring you to safety, and I'll make sure it happens. Anyway, I don't speak much, except during missions, or with the girls. Boys only want me in bed, and due to the stress of going to missions so often, I kind of understand why. Would be nice to screw a pretty girl at least once. Also, I don't panic often. It was beaten into us since our induction, that although one might experience fear, acceptance of death and the worst allows us to channel it into action. As long as we have the determination to succeed, fear is something to be spat at, to laugh when we finally succeed against all odds."

"Yes, I am a determined person, determined to the death, as many said. Our first operation, as I told you, was a trap, and within my section, I had to carry everyone onward. We were supposed to die, but that day, our discipline, determination, won us the odds. Perfection is key, and I strive to be the perfect one in my job. If someone else is better, they become my rival, and I strive to overtake them. I love rivalry, competition. They only make us grow stronger by overcoming each other. My training, skills, abilities, were all done with hard work, not by slacking. Does it mean that I never find a time to rest? No... I do enjoy a glass of fine wine while dressed in one of my formal attires, or a can of orange juice while resting in the base. It's all about timing, when would be the right time to do what."

Weaknesses: Not exceptionally strong, Fears being alone, Fears being captured by aliens, Cannot handle heavy weapons well, Hard to 'truly' socialize, Emotionally Exhausted (Recoverable).
"Huh? Weaknesses?" Miyuki said as she heard the man's latest request as she prepared the ground for sleeping. "Come on... I'm tired out after carrying you across this field, my back and arms are strained. Yes, I'm not the strongest. Even an average soldier could win me in an arm wrestling contest. No... I'm built for beauty and espionage, not brute strengt- stop laughing damn it."

I hate being lonely. It reminds me of isolation, of being weak. Although I often operate solo, it doesn't mean that I have to like it. Meeting you when I crossed the bridge was one of the better things which happened the past few days, at least we managed to get things done together, and to be honest, it kept me from going insane after all the crazy things which happened in Europe. I used to cry silently when I was alone, sleeping in the bushes surrounded by enemies, or in a hole which I dug, ready to be turned into my grave. There's also a fear of these aliens... capture... I saw people being abducted, I do not wish to become like them... If ever they were going to get me, shoot me, twice."

"I can't handle machine guns or rocket launchers. They're too heavy, too bulky. It doesn't fit with my mobility. I prefer pistols, sub-machine guns, assault rifles. Carbines are a favorite, but no machine guns or SAWs. Think that's about it? Oh... As I mentioned, this side of me talking to you, it's a one off. I don't know how to make friends, I really, really find it hard to understand the concept of society apart from colleagues, comrades, leaders, and targets. Say, if we get out of this alive, won't you give me some hints?"

Skills: Konayama Miyuki's skill set was never one picked up by choice. Trained and indoctrinated into her self, Miyuki has received a wide range of education, in order for the ORPHAN to become a 'Perfect Soldier'. However, Miyuki's trainers have chosen only the most specific skills for Miyuki to be outstanding in, especially those which the girl could exploit with her own natural resources.

ORPHAN FORCE, Personnel Dossier - Konayama Miyuki, Agent 048

Konayama Miyuki was one of the best assassins in the Orphan Force. Not just because of her gender being female and most of our targets being male, she displays a certain appeal to females too. Her weapons of choice in battle or combat operations are the sub-machine gun and pistol, while her best weapons in infiltration and assassination missions are her body and a needle. She's one of the fittest in her batch, able to run, jump, crawl... we made sure that she's able to use her agility to the max, and despite being unable to take down someone by brute strength, Miyuki's flexibility allows her to reach places a normal person might not be able to, escaping clutches or finding balance at the most unlikely of places.

Miyuki would be your perfect assassin in the skills she has. Great perception, battlefield sense, and situation awareness. She's no genius or human radar, but she'll be able to get you out of a tight spot as long as you carry your own weight. Combine those skills with a sense of recognition, dedication and a good eye for tracking, Miyuki could find a target in the busy streets of Shibuya, follow them while taking several detours, and appear as a pretty schoolgirl who sprained her ankle, having the target take her into their apartment to administer some first aid. There, in the confines of the room... pfft, pfft.

She's a good Scout, but a better Hunter. Many would underestimate her from first glace, with Miyuki being petite and all, but for all you know that's one of her weapons taking effect on your mind.

Charisma and Seduction Motivation - Miyuki was one of the fairest of the fairest in the Orphan Force, and she was conditioned with the ability to calm people down, as well as motivate them onwards. Males who harbour a liking to Oriental ladies might need to keep their heads facing the other way. Best used on suspected human traitors who has a weakness to women.

Gymnastics and Dexterity - Miyuki isn't the strongest, or even as strong as the average regular soldier, but she was trained to slip out of most grips and holds, as well as tackle terrain obstacles. Parkour was something she does for fun in full Orphan combat gear, tailored to compact female bodies without causing any harm.

Excellent Dancer - Be it line dancing, hip-hop, or slow ballroom dancing, Konayama Miyuki was trained by international dance instructors during her time in the Orphan Force. Because a social escort, she was expected to cater to the wants of every target. She also dances for exercise, and to test her flexibility in a way which requires more finesse than clearing obstacles.

Excellent Courtesan - Konayama Miyuki was one of the five courtesans of the ORPHAN Force, trained in high level espionage to gather information directly from the enemy's own mouth. Trained in the art of finesse and service, by which Miyuki learned how to serve teas, wines and cook for every scenario required from potential targets. Be it a simple reception, a quick one-night stand, or a contract which Miyuki would serve as the target's 'mistress' for a period of time, Miyuki had a 100% success rate in her missions so far. One of the most successful ones recently was a snatching mission by ATHENA, where the Orphan Force provided them Miyuki's support to confirm the identity, location, and guilt of a collaborator, resulting in the suspect's capture.

Basic First Aid - Cuts, bruises, burns, Miyuki can handle them. Even little sprains and maybe dislocated joints. She knows how to stop bleeding, but bullet wounds are a little to much for her.

Discipline: 8 - Discipline is life. Full of Calm, full of mechanical precision. Discipline brings us victory.
Devotion: 8 - I have no family, no love, no long-term friends. The only thing that's going to succeed myself is the legacy of the ORPHAN Force. The living humans are testament to our effectiveness, my effectiveness.
Riskiness: 6-8 - I'm a scout, a hunter, an assassin. I took many more risks hunting terrorists in Afghanistan, but age and maturity has mellowed me down somewhat. If you throw me into the fire, I'll do anything to get out. On normal ground, I'll pick the best time to fight, the best time for maximum efficiency.

How to be legitimately recognised in NS? Be a proper Roleplayer.
In a community where knowledge should be used to uplift the teachable and be used as an interest instead of a necessity, the arrogant abuse of knowledge is interesting to watch.

Class: Scout / Rocketeer

Name: Artem Yurivich
Rank: Nadrotmistr (Master Sergeant)
Age: 29
Experience: Originally, when Artem volunteered into the CAF, he was assigned to the 9th Artillery, where he campaigned in the 2018 Egyptian Crisis for several years before being transferred to the 601st SKSS, the special forces. After several years of distinguished service there, he was transferred to a secret project. ATHENA. He was an ATHENA Operator until 2023, then was 'retired,' and transferred to the SCK where he served as a Nadrotmistr in command of Ceta Ctvrtek (Platoon Thursday,) until 2025, when his platoon was deployed behind hostile lines in order to attempt to recover Ooster.
Height and Weight: Approximately 5' 11", or 1.803 meters, 162 pounds or 73 kilograms.
Appearance: LINK HERE
Long Bio: Born in 1996, Artem was an introverted child, from a very young age. He was so introverted, in fact that his parents had him sent to a psychologist to test for autism. The psychologist had him take the test and gave the results to the Yurivichs. The test had concluded that Artem was not autistic. Just an extreme case of introversion. He reacts to a situation with a minimal amount of planning, as previous experience in the 601st and the 9th Artillery, plans always go to hell. He was raised from age 5 to play the viola, and as such was groomed to become a musician like his father. However, in one final act of defiance, he signed up for the Czech Armed Forces. During the Aptitude tests for determining what role he would play, he displayed a huge talent for operating stealthily behind enemy lines, and communicating where artillery should be laid down, and how many rounds it would need to obliterate hostile forces. Even though he only was promoted to Lance Corporal, he was hand picked for the 601st SKSS, the Czech elite special operations unit. During his full military record, he has a total of over 100 kills, though a good portion of them are through indirect artillery fire. Even though if you see him, he's most likely seen you. And's pulling the trigger.

After his tour with ATHENA, and the awkward goodbye between him and Emilie, Artem was reassigned to the SCK, the Czech answer to Razor Wire and the alien threat. There, he lead nine of his fellow 601ers in direct, rapid, and reactionary combat all over central Europe. Eventually, he came to the realization -- a leader can't have a defeatist attitude. After this epiphany, his personality warped, becoming what one could describe as happy-go-lucky, though occasionally his defeatist and cynical self will seep through.

And now, humanity needs those Vigilant Few again.

Skills: He knows his architecture, and he can visualize things collapsing in his head, knowing when and how he has to avoid collapsing structures. Quite stealthy too. He also plays the viola like a badass.
Likes: PC games, classical music, the occasional , large explosions.
Dislikes: Console games, clowns, darkness, tight spaces.
RP Example: Meh.
Personality Type: INTJ ATHENA changed him. ENFP.
Tastes: Light and sweeter things.
Discipline: 7
Devotion: 8
Riskiness: 9
Strengths: Great at communicating, great with pinpoint fire, and has few remaining ties, thus excelling as a lone wolf.
Weaknesses: Bad team player, he doesn't really understand how other people think, and is extremely prone to put himself in the risk of physical harm to protect someone he believes is more valuable than himself.
Theme Song: He's Just Drifting.
Languages: Russian, Czech, Slovak, Estonian, English, learning French.

Class / Role:Assault

Name: Vince Farkas
Rank: Hungarian Flag bearer (Warrant Officer by NATO standards)
Age: 34
Experience:
    Hungarian Ground Forces (2011-2020, 2023)
    ATHENA (2020-2023)
    HDF 34th KMZ (2024-2025)
Height and Weight: 6,3", 180 Ibs
Appearance: http://shaunabsher.deviantart.com/art/M ... y-92607259
Short Bio: Born in Szeged, Hungary. Vince maintained good grades alongside a good social life and relationship with is family. He would developed many skills that he uses today from high school, as well as his likes and hobbies/dislikes. He attended many extracurricular classes (mainly language and sports) and earned a scholarship for post-secondary education. His family was over joyed when they learnt this and supported him all the way. However shortly upon finishing college, his family fell on hard financial times. The stock market crash of 2011. He had to put off his own aspirations and help his family get back on their feet but jobs and local business weren't doing too well. Vince was strong and healthy but by no means an athlete, after much debate with his family he joined the military to help his family. However once they were reestablished, he stayed, growing a liking for the military life. He'd serve faithfully with the Hungarian Ground Forces for almost an entire decade before resigning. However, he never really shook the army life, everything he did was a mirror of what he'd done in the army. When scouted for ATHENA, he jumped at the chance, approaching the program with enthusiasm and professionalism.

He'd survived the attack on Ooster, and went on to have a sucessful career with ATHENA for the next few years until its dissolution. From there he reenlisted with the HDF for a year before being presented the chance to be part of one of Hungary's elite forces. Serving once again with his countrymen, he distinguished himself, and climbed the ranks from his former rank of patrol leader (Private first class) to the rank of Guard-Master (Sergeant). Over time, he'd learn to perfect his language skills, becoming fluent in several languages.

When The Line was formed, Vince was the local expert for the Hungarians. Because of that, he was hastily given a field promotion, and essentially put in charge of the Hungarian contingent. He'd had first hand experience dealing with ETs. The Hungarians, being part of NATO, rushed to the aid of the Germans. Athena rung him up on the way to Germany, but he'd already been deployed. If he left, those under his command would have no clue of what they'd be getting into. They'd be slaughtered. He'd politely declined as the plane landed. I wouldn't matter much though. The coordinated alien offensive completely annihilated the Line. The world burned around him as everyone "ran for the hills". With the dust settled, it was time to rejoin ATHENA.

That didn't end too well. Central command fell shortly after, and the infantry were left in disarray. He, and the other remaining soldiers at the hastily erected NATO "base" were on the run yet again, doing what they could, coordinating what they had left. And now? Now we're here.

Weaknesses: Overconfident, has trouble asking for help, trouble relaxing, over works
Skills: Endurance/Stamina, CQC (Knives and unarmed), improvisation, leadership, perception, quiet

A direct copy-paste atm. Hopefully it all still makes sense but I'll go over it properly as soon as I have the chance :D

Class:Medic
Name:Emilie Girard
Rank: caporal-chef de première classe (Corporal)
Age: 31
Experience:She served in Egypt during the Crisis of 2018 and saw service throughout North Africa and the Maghreb in its aftermath. A veteran of Athena, Emilie was discharged in 2023 and has since continued to serve with the French Army.

Height and Weight: Petite and Healthy respectively (I am really bad at these so I’ll try to get around to it)
Appearance: Linky

Bio:
Born to a somewhat less-than-well-off family in Paris, Emilie enlisted straight after terminale knowing full well that her parents were unable to pay for any further studies. The military practically couldn’t get her in fast enough, with her grades far and above those of her peers in the downtrodden school district. Offered a scholarship in return for a few years of service, Emilie had really been faced with a life trapped in the same self-destructive loop as her parents or a stint with the French Army. Having grown up in a part of the city known for gang violence and a lack of futures, she’d been given a ticket out. It was hardly a competition.

For Emilie, the Army was meant to be a gateway to something else – and although she caught the eye of her superiors early on – she had no intention of sticking around. However, that all changed in 2018. Not yet through her required time of service, Emilie found herself deployed to Egypt. There, she got her first taste of real battle and witnessed what it was like having friends die right in front of you. She was permanently changed, hardened even, by the experience and realised that she was never going to be able to abandon her comrades now.

Following first contact, ATHENA found themselves scrambling to bolster their numbers and keep those recruits they already had from bleeding out on some god-forsaken field. A trained and decorated medic seemed to be right up their alley. It didn’t take much convincing to get the French soldier to sign up, and Emilie threw herself at her role within Athena, with more than a few of her comrades ending up owing her their lives over the years – although she’d say that she was simply doing her job (and point out that she wouldn’t even need to have done anything if they hadn’t been ‘trop stupide’).

After the successful attack on the extra-terrestrial base in South America, Athena gradually found itself being placed on life support as governments withdrew more and more of their funding. With cost-cutting becoming the name of the game, an outspoken, alcoholic French medic was an easy saving. Honourably discharged from Athena in late 2023, Emilie returned to serve with l’Armée de Terre, although records indicate that she never fully integrated with her new unit – possibly since so much of her recent history had been classified to the highest levels. Still, she earned a reputation as a no-nonsense specialist that was good at her job – even if Emilie silently questioned if what she was doing truly mattered compared to the alien threat.

After the devastation of Copenhagen, Emilie’s unit was deployed to the frontline almost immediately and formed part of the initial European defensive deployment. However, when the lines collapsed they bore the brunt of it, falling back all the way to the Netherlands before what was left was so scattered and haphazard that they could no longer be called a unit.

Personality:
Outspoken and blunt, Emilie speaks her mind and isn’t one to shy away from a fight. While she’s not one to ever be described as having a good bedside manner, she’s a damned good medic and – at the end of the day – really does care for her patients. However, the years of warfare and conflict have taken their toll: you can only ever have so many friends bleed out in your hands before it starts getting to you. She’s developed something of an alcohol problem to compensate, although she’d knock out anyone who refers to it as a ‘problem’.

Records also indicate that she was engaged to a fellow soldier at some point, near the time when she was originally supposed to leave the military for medical school.

Weaknesses:
- Proud to a fault, Emilie is woe to back down from a challenge or contest, even a stupid, immature and pointless contest. On top of that, you may have more luck convincing her to play Russian Roulette than to admit a fault or mistake. This has landed her in more than one rough-up throughout her life.

- She isn’t always the most co-operative individual, either. Military life has taught her to accept orders in the heat of battle, expect plenty of backchat and complaints even while she carries them out. This can also make her come across as rather lacking in the bedside manner department.

- She also has a fear of flying.

- Emilie has something of an alcohol problem. She often has a beverage on hand somewhere, and naturally this has caused its own set of problems. However, she seems to be able to handle it exceptionally well - so her superiors have tended to look the other way rather than try and endure the battle of weening her off.

Skills:
- Emilie is as nimble as even some of the better scouts, and probably for the best too. Often the idiots who get themselves shot up are out in front and half-a-sprint through the open away.

- She’s got something of a knack for patching people up, even when under heavy fire and the barest of supplies. When she’s around, you know that your chances of surviving are about as high as they could be – considering the circumstances. Although you may have to grit your teeth to weather a bit of a lecture.

- She is quite capable in hand-to-hand combat and melee combat with a close combat weapon – if not exceptionally well-trained. Although rarely – if ever – used on the field of battle, a knife has still come in handy plenty of times in Emilie’s line of duty. And occasionally off-duty it can’t be helped if some idiots are asking for it.

- Emilie's liver seems to be super-charged - or maybe she's just had a lot of practice - she can handle a lot more alcohol than the average Joe. That's not to say she doesn't get drunk, it's just that she tends to not collapse in a slurred-mess. Of course she's outspoken and ready to throw a few punches after a couple, but that's pretty much Emilie regardless.

RP Example: Lost Requiem Search up ‘Shiro’ and my posts should pop up.
Likes: Winning, being in charge, a good drink, big cars (preferably with a healthy dose of armoured plating and plenty of horses tucked away), metal and rock music, an adrenalin rush – as long as it doesn’t involve getting too airborne.

Dislikes: Not winning, being told what to do, people whining, flying, planes, helicopters, tilt-rotors, VTOLs, pilots who think it's fun to do a barrel-roll when she's in the back.

Hobbies: Cliff-diving, mountaineering, drinking new recruits under the table, mixed martial arts (sometimes right after having drunk the new recruits under the table), reading medical journals.

Theme Song: [rul=https://soundcloud.com/karikimmel/black]Black[/url]
Discipline:8 – but you’d be forgiven for thinking that it’s lower.
Devotion: 8
Riskiness: Her job is to run from cover to help somebody who’s already somewhere where they can get shot and try to patch them up while ignoring the hail of bullets around her. I’ll leave this one up to the imagination.
Languages Spoken: French, English and enough Arabic to be able to do her job but not much else.

Class / Role:Pilot
Name: Jeff Harmon.
Rank: Major.
Age: 34.
Experience:
  • 2nd Battalion, Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division (2013-2016)
  • 1st Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (2016-2025)
  • ATHENA (2025-)
Height and Weight: 6'2; 190.
Appearance:
I'm an American, through and through. I'm big, tanned, well-built and trimmed from working in my line of work for 20 years. Last time I took a PFT, my height was measured to 6'1, I believe. Then again, I might just be a solid six. I weigh in the 190 range, and I've worked hard to maintain a peak level of fitness, which shows in my body. I've been an athlete all my life, and thus my body is toned and visibly muscular from strength and endurance work. When I was younger, I was a distance-freestyler in competitive swimming, and thus I was much more thin. Now, with how large I've gotten, I'm probably more of a sprinter. Not a beefcake, because I have a neck.

My face is...normal, I guess. People have called my face "sharp," whatever that means. Ears aren't too big, cheeks aren't too big; that kind of stuff. Lots of wrinkles and crow's feet, which tends to happen when stress constantly hangs over you like a dark cloud. I've got deep brown eyes, the kind that will scare the shit out of you if you look into them for too long. Really adds to the intimidation factor. Hair's dark brown, like my eyes, except it's got noticeable grey hairs mixed in. I've got a short beard; enough to cover my face but not enough to project far outwards. The hair on my head is cut short in a high-and-tight. It's a bit more heavy the higher you go, and I've got enough to establish a left-flowing flow.

As for fun stuff like scars, I've got a bunch around my body. I've got a very noticeable bullet wound scar on my left hand, where a Daesh regular shot me through the hand with an AK-47. I've got pain in that hand when I'm gripping things with a tight grip, which makes me bless the Creator that I was born a righty. The other one is the remnant of a long laceration that extends from just below my right ear and vertically down the side of my neck, coupled with a cluster of smaller, darker scars encompassing the right side of my neck. That was courtesy of shrapnel and a big fucking piece of glass that all got kicked up by a Daesh RPG.

Bio:
I'm from Denton, North Carolina. It's not a nice place to grow up in; rampant drug abuse, domestic violence, rednecks, economic disparity. My parents were deadbeats, and I was right to get out when I did. College was my goal, though I didn't have the money to afford it, even with scholarships. That led me to join the Army, just as things began to flare up in the Middle East once again. I scored high on the ASVAB, and although I chose Infantry, I ended up getting talked into embroiling myself in the admissions process for USMA. I didn't get Burr to sign off on my nomination, nor did Tillis. I went in there with Watt's nomination, and I got it, somehow. Went in, got my ass kicked a bunch, swam for a Division I college, and came out with a Bachelor's Degree and my butter bars.

After I got BOLC and my other training out of the way, I was shacked up with the 1st Cav for about three years. I flew an MH-60, which is a fun bird to fly. I lived it up, but I got bored of sitting around on my ass. 1st Cav wasn't going to be deployed anytime soon, so most of my flight time came from training or whenever I could log flight time. I was young, and I wanted something to challenge me. I missed Afghanistan because I was at West Point at the time that we were withdrawing, but there was plenty of action going on in Iraq. Of course, those were SF aviators. What that meant for me was that I had to get to that point.

I began training for the 160th SOAR in early 2016. My performance evals and flight record were good enough for me to get in, and thus I endured through Green Platoon and the 28-week Night Stalker course. I trained primarily for air assault ops, but special operations aviation is a whole other beast. High-speed insertions with helicopters that don't even exist, simulations of back-to-back missions; the whole enchilada. By the end of the year, I was BMQ'ed and shipped out to Iraq for Inherent Resolve.

I primarily flew an A/MH-6M Little Bird; a tiny, hornet-like vehicle with miniguns, rockets, missiles, and usually some friends on board. Those were fun little choppers to take out. I flew close air support and insertion operations out of Northern Iraq during my first two-year tour; sometimes to Coalition forces and sometimes for the Kurds. It was a hairy job to fly through tracers and SAMs, but I feel confident that I was a competent pilot under fire. I bagged about three HVTs when I hit a Daesh convoy coming out of Mosul; two ex-Iraqi Army tankers that were training Daesh regulars how to use Abrams tanks, and a Chechen field commander. I got grounded once by AA fire as I crossed over the Syrian border, and if you're worried about my performance on the ground, just know that I can hold my own, whether it's with a wrench or an M4.

I flew about four tours between '16 and '25, when I got asked to join ATHENA. The only problem is that apparently, aliens are real, so goodbye Indoc and hello war.

Personality:
I might be a Major, but I'm also a pilot. I thankfully never had to lead much of a unit, besides a bird company. I don't yell unless I have to, and even then, I don't need to yell much if I know and trust my grease monkies and my co-pilot. I listen, I observe, and I try not to pull strings. When it comes to being downrange, I've got a sense of courage. Don't get me wrong; I'm scared as shit of getting killed, but I have had to come to terms with that fact that I am gambling with my mortality each time I enter a cockpit. If I'm in the air with Death in my hands, I'm going to put that Death to work for what I perceive as the right thing to do.

Weaknesses:
Get help from the VA for my drug problem? Are you shitting me? The government got me hooked on drugs, you dumb idiot! You can't stay up for 72 hours straight on Red Bull and vodka; you need poppers. We were issued amphetamines to keep us awake and focused, and we'd buy Rytalin and other drugs from the black market. Piss tests? Our COs organized the drug tests so that we wouldn't get caught with our pants down. Hell, I smoked pot once while I was home and still managed to pass my drug test. Look, I've tried to quit, but have you ever tried to function as a Special Ops aviator while suffering from amphetamine withdrawal?

Skills:
I'm one of the best goddamn pilots in the whole world. I'm sorry that I haven't broken any records yet, but how many of those fancy stunt fliers can not only maneuver low through volumes of anti-air fire while also discerning non-combatants from enemy combatants while you provide close air support? Flying a helicopter on a combat mission takes skill, and I have learned much as a pilot. Whether I'm inserting troops in the middle of combat or stopping a tank company in its tracks, I'm your huckleberry. I can fly anything on rotors, be it a Black Hawk, an Apache, a Chinook, or even a Hind.

I might be a warrior in the air, but I can also hold my own on the ground. In addition to standard combat training for officers, I've been taught some things about urban combat by the various SF operators that I've worked with. I might not have killed bin Laden or climbed mountains to fight the Taliban, but I have had to take cover and put lead downrange with a gun. I can fight, too; I've been in my fair share of fistfights, because that's how you settle things where I'm from. If I'm grounded, I've been trained in land navigation and terrain negotiation through SERE, in order to escape from enemy lines.

Y'know, I was married once. Married this Kiowa pilot named Marta Villegas back in '16. We had a good thing going for the first five years; had a kid named Oscar Luis Harmon, a nice house in the 'burbs, and the rest of the whole shibang. Things went bad when I came back from either my second or third tour in Iraq. We grew apart over time, and we both started seeing people on the side. She shot for her CrossFit instructor, while I started hitting on this Israeli pilot that was training with us. I won't get into the messy details, but everything ended with me apparently becoming the bad guy and both Marta and Esther left my ass.

Call me a bad guy all you want for not fighting for custody of Oscar Luis, but if I'm being completely honest, I never truly wanted to have a family. After high school, my family was no longer involved in my life; I cut them out because they were toxic. The first time that I ever got truly close to anyone was with Marta, and Oscar Luis and I never got close. It's for the best, after all.
