Introduction: Do you think you've got what it takes to survive 21st Century politics in the United States of America? In the dirty world of politics, nothing is off-limits. Shady dealings behind closed doors, ambitious and legally questionable schemes, and backstabbing your allies are few of the many things you'll have to do if you want to stay ahead of others in the merciless society of D.C. politics. Whether you are a news reporter trying to get an exclusive inside coverage of national politics, a freshman house representative trying to survive his first year in D.C., a Supreme Court justice who is determined to abuse his powers to become a millionaire, or a senior senator poised at a potential bid for the presidency, we've got a place for you right here.


Prologue: It's 2016, and the United States remains as politically polarized as ever after electing the new president of the United States. The country is divided on numerous issues, ranging from the issue of gay marriage, to tax policies, to climate change. A lame duck president sits in the White House, his popularity declining everyday, and Congress remains heavily gridlocked, Democrats and Republicans blocking one another's efforts to make headway in tackling controversial issues. Media is full of pundits and biased news. Being a politician has never been so much fun.

BTW the way guys the President and his vice president and the chief of staff will be NPC's so not apps for them as I will control them, everyone else is free game

Ryan West was born in the state of Maryland in 1952. At the age of 22, after graduating from the University of Maryland with a degree in international relations and a degree in Economics, then went on to complete graduate school and eventually receive his masters of international relations. While attending the University of Maryland, West met the woman who he would later marry, Marissa. After graduation, he joined the Central Intelligence Agency as a Junior Analyst. He worked with the Agency for about 8 years before becoming a Senior analyst, and was considered one of the most reliable and effective analysts for the Agency. In 1994, he was promoted to the Chief Political Analyst. During his time with the Agency, he had been noted as an especially charismatic individual and had a certain way with people. He was also extremely good at his job, dissecting foreign political systems and connected developments as if he was reading a picture book. 1994 was also the year his daughter, Alicia, was born. West served as Chief Political Analyst for 8 years. In 2002, he was promoted again, to Chief of Congressional affairs. With the Agency at the forefront more than it had been in the past, Congress had wanted a more direct link to the Agency then it had previously possessed. In turn, the Agency had signed an important official, who possessed the ability to navigate the hazardous waters that are American politics, to serve as a direct link between congress and the agency. West was this official. He handled this task rather well, keeping congress feeling informed by the Agency, while the Agency continued to operate relatively unrestricted. If congress had concerns, West either convinced them that they had been addressed, or that what they were concerned about wasn't truly an issue. After a decade of serving in this capacity, during which he formed personal relationships with many prominent politicians and officials within the government, West was appointed to Deputy director of the Central Intelligence Agency. He served in this capacity for four years, administering to the broad number of duties that the position entailed, while also maintaining the relationships he had forged during his time as Chief of Congressional Affairs. Upon President Andrew Hilton's inauguration, one of the initial changes to the Cabinet was his nomination of West as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency. West's relationship with members of Congress, including both members of the Senate and the House, allowed for his nomination to be confirmed rather painlessly. The senate believed that having a former liaison between congress and the CIA would allow for more transparency on behalf of the Agency. However, West prioritizes the Central Intelligence Agency's ability to operate independent of Congressional scrutiny and considers it critical that they be allowed to operate without interference and scrutiny from other entities. He believes that what the Central Intelligence Agency does is critical to this great nation's security, and the darker side of what it does is necessary, if not preferable. Fortunately, as the Chief of Congressional Affairs for the Agency, and subsequently the Deputy Director, he succeeded in helping cast a veil of semi-transparency, and hopes to continue to do so as the Director.
Everyone has a weakness, however, and West's key weakness lies with his daughter. Alicia is a 22 year old girl who has a lot of issues, to say the least. West accumulated significant wealth through successful and legitimate investments. Alicia used her access to this wealth in a less than productive manner, nearing failing out of school do too excessive drug use and partying. She's essentially a walking poster board for how money can ruin your life. West constantly finds himself bailing his daughter out of serious trouble, with both the law and shady people. His connections with politicians and officials allow him to make her legal troubles evaporate with ease, while the resources at his disposal have allowed him to handle trouble that less than legitimate individuals wish to cause. It has been suspected on at least one occasion that Alicia's troubles have been rectified by at least some form of intervention from C.I.A resources and at least one group of people who may have posed a danger to her have been arrested after a sudden influx of seriously damning evidence regarding their criminal activities came to light as if it revealed itself. Fortunately, his connections, resources, and influence have allowed him to keep such incidents quite, at least up to this point.

Ah since you pointed that out, Both parts of Congress are controlled by the Republicans and the President Andrew Hilton is a democrat. Similar to IRL
