NS Name: Spindle
Name: Star Kingdom of Spindle
Flag: See above and to the left a bit.
Government: Constitutional nobility: the Monarch has a broad range of powers and many posts, from the mundane and bureaucratic to the military. However, it is probably more accurate to consider titles as hereditary jobs than the Medieval titles. Even the Monarch can be stripped of their power by Parliament and if Parliament pass a law or decide on a budget, no-one in the nobility has any (direct)power to oppose it).
Head of Government: Prime Minister Jacob Baldwyn.
Head of State: Queen Tethys II
Economic System: Although capitalistic, the government is constantly active in its manipulation of the forces of supply and demand, both on the surface and through more subtle and complex machinations.
Languages: English, with smatterings of French, Italian, German, Dutch and even Latin.
National religion/ideology: Generally either Christian or Atheist, although there is a sizeable Hindu and Muslim contingent.
Influence: Minor Power
Map colour/claim: In between the Exul Empire and the Republic of Fratri: roughly where the indent in the Frati's sphere of influence is.

Military Production: 1.5% GDP
Civilian Production: 98% GDP
Ship Focus: Due to a general paucity in warship-building infrastructure, Spindlean ship focus is centred on Cruisers leading squadrons of Frigates and/or Destroyers, the larger ships providing informational security to their charges.
Elite Infantry: The Knightmares: an elite unit who utilise second-generation Spectre fields to become effectively invisible to visible- and infrared- range detection for extended periods of time. Generally used to bypass and cut off enemy strongpoints, disrupt enemy C&C or in full-scale orbital hot-drops alongside the Knights Celestial.

Name: The Retail Conclave
Flag: None, they are often shown with the insignias of the companies that make up the Conclave
Government: Non competitive company grouping with a central Board of Directors that forms the basis of what can laughably called the 'government' of the Retail Conclave. In reality they are nothing but a very well armed, and dangerous collection of retail and production companies that vote to enact bylaws through their companies. With the exception of budgets, and use of their military, the Conclave must have a unanimous vote from all dues paying Corporate Executives that sit on the Board of Directors, and with this impossible system of legislation the Conclave proudly boasts that it has never enacted a single law other than the Charter.
Head of Government: Chairperson Saar van der Zee
Head of State: N/A
Economic System: Protected market capitalism with syndicated Oliopolies
Language(s): The Conclave does not embrace a single language, but uses English most often to write contracts in, followed by Chinese, Arabic, Japanese, Dutch, and Russian
National religion/ideology: The Retail Conclave does not officially endorse any religion, but has a smattering of religions within its boarders. In order of largest to smallest, the religions are Islam, Buddhism, Christianity, and Taoism
Influence: Regional power

Ship Focus: The Retail Conclave relies on armed merchant ships, mercenaries hired in times of war, and specialized commerce raiders rather than a standing navy
Elite Infantry: The Retail Conclave 'Asset Acquisition Force' is probably the closet thing the Conclave has to a special forces, though generally it is the only (Non mercenary) organic force they field. The AAF is deployed into sensitive missions with rank and file combat robots, these robots being used as cannon fodder, distraction, or even explosives in accordance with the orders of the mission. The point of the AAF is to be the adaptable soldiers can capture important locations, or equipment with minimum damage and losses for the Conclave.

NS Name: Zepplien
Name: Aleksandra Olegovna
Sex: Female
Age: 22
Appearance: Alek is a tall and lanky girl, with short cut black hair, and hazel eyes. Her body clearly reflects one that was never made for military life, and one that has also never seen excess of food or sunlight.
Nationality: Fratri
Role: Commissar of the Soviet Socialist Republic of Fratri
Occupation: Political Commissar of the 118th Mechanized Rifle Corp of the People
Equipment: Rebreather, Data Monocle, eletro reeducation prod (Shock baton), gunpowder revolver, Iron curtain Personal Shield System, and standard issue 'enhanced interrogation' kit
Personality: Aleksandra, is a dedicated and almost zealous example of the Fratri people, believing every word of the manifestos, propaganda, and books she was raised on. She can, and has beaten the ideals of glorious Stalin into both occupied civilians and her own men. Like many of her political officers, she was never trained for combat, nor does she allow this to affect her command decisions, instead she does her best to issue orders that comply with the ideals of the Party even if they make little to no military sense. Though loved by her political superiors, she is despised by her fellow military officers, and to a lesser extent her own men for her devout loyalty to the Party.
Biography: The world of Tereshkova VI was one of the smaller worlds within the Union, and close to the boarders to the Union's space, so small it did not even get its own name in the star charts. This is the cold mining world that Aleksandra was born on, her father conscripted into the army the day after her 8th birthday, and her mother one of the local engineers who kept the Mining Robots running. According to her, she can still remember the day the man and woman in dress uniform came to her door to tell her that her father died for the Glory of the People's Republic, and to ensure the safety of all her mother was presence in the Combat Engineering Corp was 'requested'. Two days later Aleksandra laid her eyes upon her mother for the last time at the space port, never able to tell her the good news of being accepted into highschool on Tereshkova IV, which would allow her to further her education beyond her backwater homeworld.
By the time her sophomore year came, Fratri didn't even space officers, and sent her a notice of her mother's death in email, again, for the greater cause of the Union. Her ration of power, food, water, and internet was reduced by almost a third, much to her dismay as she often had to take notes by pen to compensate for the lack of computer access. In these formative years though, she turned to the words of Lenin, Stalin, Marx, and so many other communist scholars to make herself a better citizen and remain in the warm study rooms longer. As with every citizen of Fratri outside the gulags, she did what she could to join the Communist Party so that she might further her opportunities to serve the Motherland. Her essay on Stalin and his glory was hand selected the local Administrative Commissar who praised it for "Such perfect reflection on the ideals of the Communist Party of Fratri that Stalin himself would smile upon the essays contained within." and extended her the chance to join a special education program that was opening within the Core Worlds of Fratri. This education program taught her the loyalty and obedience in ways that could be kindly described as indoctrination, and less kindly described by Exul spies as 'barely justified torture of teenagers'.
At the age of 20 she was invited to join the Red Army as a Political Commissar, and spent the next two years in training for the position. Taught nothing of military command, instead she was taught psychology, sociology, and of course even more political propaganda to glorify the communist state. The only vaguely military based part of her education was her training of how to use a pistol at close range, and how to torture with nothing but the standard tools of a field kit.
To say her first taste of combat was shocking would be an understatement, ordered fresh from her graduation ceremony to protect the world of Novohrad V from an incursion of Exul soldiers. When she came to her Corp, they were well entrenched and prepared to defend their homelands from the invaders. However even the inexperienced Alek could see a problem with their defenses, the Capital's statue of Stalin was outside their defensive lines. She gave the order to the Company commander to advance to the statue and prepare to defend it, as the image of Comrade Stalin must be preserved at all costs, and when the old officer refused to comply with the 'Party brat' who gave orders that would kill him and his men, she removed him from command for insubordination. She took direct command of his Company, and with the help of a generous vodka ration, she got them to abandon their defensive positions to perform an attack on the Exul soldiers that marched on the statue. Like many battles of this scale it was a long and grinding affair that would typically cause the Fratri troops to retreat due to their inferior equipment. However she set an example when she grabbed the first soldier that tried to run, and gave him the simple choice of dying from her pistol or dying for his motherland. He refused to fight, and so she declared that he was a deserter, and shot him without trial. After such a display, the soldiers fought to the last man, buying enough time for reinforcements to arrive and crush the exhausted Exul army. She has been praised and reassigned at her own request to a position on the front against Exul where she will again lead a company with her uniquely brutal style.
Skills: She can quote most communist work by heart, and is known for her ability to strike a combination of fear and love in her soldiers for their motherland.
Other: She has no living family, and feels no qualms about torturing enemy soldiers, or killing anyone her government has declared an 'enemy of the people'

NS Name: Spindle
Name: Allen Teryn
Sex: Male
Age: Thirty-one
Appearance: You have no clue how hard it was to find something like this which isn't boobs, abs, or an even more blatant Han Solo ripoff.
Nationality: Spindlean
Role: Smuggler
Occupation: Trader, with smuggling in certain, valuable items as a lucrative side-job.
Equipment: Three EVA suits with full ship-side commlink, six skinsuits, several sets of hardwearing clothes, a brace of SSR-19 pistols, a tablet with several libraries' worth of assorted reading on it, the Trojan-class Merchant ship, the Vinyard Bat.
Personality: Allen is one of the more unusual smugglers involved in the game. Unlike the stereotypical image of a smuggler, and the personas taken up by many of his compatriots, he is quiet and reserved, preferring to lose himself in reading than drinking. With an almost insatiable thirst for knowledge, he generally smuggles information or curios and will always make a point about knowing exactly what he is transporting...partly for his curiosity and partly for his peace of mind.
Although he is quiet and fairly malleable, Allen will usually turn down job offers coming from those who he perceives to be immoral and will quite happily debate the finer points of it with any would-be clients. In fact, there isn't much that he likes more than an interesting argument or problem to pick apart and put back together, and challenging opposition is even better. He has recently discovered the age-old game of chess and his mind is currently bent towards understanding and, potentially, mastering the complexities of the game.
Biography: Much can be said about Allen's background. Born into a poor family, he was convinced that the only way he could succeed in life was through education and getting into a high-paying job. Although he succeeded in his first goal, he gave up on the second goal when he took his first trip off-planet. In the endless space which surrounded him on every side, Allen felt a connection he'd never felt on the planet's surface, a thrill which had always eluded him before. By the time his feet hit the ground, his life plan was in tatters and he couldn't have cared less.
He signed up with the Hanson Cartel, working as a fold-space mechanic on one of their Atlas-class Mass Transit Cargo Haulers, ensuring that the FTL device worked as intended and wouldn't malfunction during the transition. As he gained experience working with the various odds and ends, he was shifted across from ship to ship to orbital station to the occasional groundside facility. The vast majority of the time, however, Allen was working and living in space and just fine that way.
Over time, as he became more integrated with the informal side of the running of the business, he stumbled across the various smuggling rings. His first introduction was when he found a library's worth of copies of Animal Farm inside a structural support on a run to the SSRF. Handing them into the Bo'sun with no small amount of puzzlement, his mind went into overdrive at the implications. Over the course of the run several more staches were uncovered, each secreted in some of the most unusual places, and all were checked through, catalogued, then turned in. After the run was complete, Allen was transferred off of the ship.
Upon his embarkation onto his next ship, the Baron, he was quietly taken aside by the Chief Engineer and had it explained to him that the Hanson Cartel operated several lucrative smuggling contracts into almost every nation the Cartel visited. If he didn't want to take part in them, he was told, he was perfectly able to do so. He would simply be re-transferred before the Baron set off again and put on one of the 'above-board' vessels without any penalties. But if he was willing to help them...
Allen, naturally, had one question: 'What are we smuggling?' Wordlessly, he was given a single sheet of paper, detailing the entirety of the operation for this run. Equally wordlessly, Allen accepted. From then on, there was always something to do. Improving the security on the staches, running the near-constant maintenance the ship required and a million other tasks all competed for his attention at every point in the day, but the five-year period was the high point in his career with Hanson. Unfortunately, it could never last.
The smuggling operations began to catch up with them and Allen, now a Chief Engineer in his own right, was sacked as part of a scheme from to cut out those who were suspected to the outside inspectors be involved with the smuggling operations. WIth over seven years of accumulated back-pay and interest, Allen had a backup plan ready to go from the moment his feet touched a planetary surface for seven years: he would start his own transport run. Preferably for objects which one would be unable to safely walk through security with.
With all the major shipping companies cutting back on their own underhand operations to escape the penalties Hanson had suffered, Allen walked into an open market. Buying a Trojan-class and refitting it to better suit his purposes, he quickly carved out a name for himself as the bearer of all things small, delicate and valuable. From datachips with experimental schematics to pieces of crystal artwork which the SSRF would have confiscated upon sight, items of every description were transported covertly across space to their intended destinations without the respective governments suspecting a thing. Now that war has broken out across known space, the demand for Allen's services has broadened to include state-sanctioned and faster-tempo operations...
Skills: Allen is a superlative mechanic, able to fix, operate and jury-rig even the incredibly complex devices that are fold-space drives. Having worked on AMCs he even has a basic understanding of starship-grade weaponry, something he has partially integrated into the Vinyard Bat. In addition, he has an almost-instinctive grasp of where and how to hide things from prying eyes, a sixth sense honed by years of experience against some of the best customs agents in the galaxy.
While some underestimate it, Allen's intelligence is ferocious and devours knowledge at a merciless rate and in the rare situations that he has had to fight his way out of jobs gone bad, he has managed to do so with minimal loss of life an almost no collateral damage. This is due, in large part, to his well-honed ability to move and fight in zero-gee environments and the restrictive bulkiness of EVA suits. As a final note, he is driven to do his job to a degree that many smugglers are not: although he will not endanger his own life for a job he will go beyond the break-even point if need be. After all, in this business reputation is everything.
Other: I don't think so...
