Not with a Sniper Rifle it won't be.

So what happens if someone currently on a mission doesn't post? As in, ever?

Then I'll be controlling their character for the duration of the mission; once they make it back to the Avenger, they'll be placed in rolling reserves, and I might allow them to be expropriated as secondary characters by active posters.

It's a scoped rifle, remember? I changed it.

Also, thoughts on Alien turncoats, yay or nay?

Ah, so an assault rifle- you won't be starting with a scope, obviously. Then yes, he'll be graduating to being a Specialist.

Turncoats, sure, that's fine. As long as it makes sense in specifics.

So when we do our turn do we do it like this
Alexander moved forward to the window of the apartment on the left, where he went into overwatch. Or do we go move, wait for you, then finish the turn?

The former, yes. It isn't entirely true to the game, but breaking turns down in to multiple posts from both me and you will simply be too slow.

Feel free to flesh the post out beyond a sentence though :P

Application
Recruit Name: Gary Norrie
Physical Description: Attached - 6ft 4in, 200 pounds; pale skin, with visible scar tissue across his face, upper body and low right thigh
Biography: Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Gary grew up in just like any normal child in Earth. Before the alien invasion, even before XCOM, he was a fresh recruit in the British Armed Forces. Passing through officer training, a fresh-faced boy entering on the back of his father's legacy, Gary was posted to Germany. It was here, at the head of a platoon of British riflemen, that he first encounter the aliens. It was an aerial assault, an unknown assailant blasting apart Cologne while the British soldiers attempted to see to the safety of the thousands of fleeing civilians.
During the invasion, Gary and his men found themselves stranded in France, fighting in Normandy alongside a sad coalition of NATO soldiers without any chance of victory. Lieutenant Norrie watched as his command was in some cases literally blown apart before him. He had to kill his own soldiers as they shambled back in to the firing line, vomit oozing out of fresh pores.
Now, after years of surrender, Gary has cast aside his broken life. XCOM took him on, that failure which allowed his men to die. And yet, if they could place him on the frontline, a vengeful angel of his brothers, of a life now gone, Gary would submit to them.

Also, just a general question for y'all about operations; seeing as people have differing post speeds, and I can post for operatives fairly easily, what do you all think would be a good period of time to allow for turns before I move them along myself? I'm thinking the lowest I will go is twelve hours, since everyone sleeps, but do you think it should be more? 24 hours maybe? Thoughts on the matter- do tell.

Application
Recruit Name: Tasha "Thunderbird" Rowe
Physical Description: Tasha

Biography: Before encountering XCOM, Tasha was a trainee to become an ADVENT airship pilot. She wasn't... inducted into their ranks yet, just being taught how to pilot and whatnot. She had no idea what they were doing to their soldiers, until it was almost graduation day at the academy and she noticed a hooded figure dumping an ADVENT-armored body into a dumpster during the night. Obviously, he didn't stop when she called for him to, but when she went to recover the corpse she noticed its grotesque face. After being thoroughly disgusted, she noticed a piece of paper on the ground, which apparently the man who ran had left behind.

On the page, it read: "THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE. ADVENT IS NOT WHAT IT SEEMS."

Now curious beyond the point of reason, Tasha tried to follow the man. She caught sight of him climbing onto an airship, and the vehicle zipping away into the night sky. Wow, she thought. I want to fly one of those.

Since that day, Tasha dropped out of flight school. She spent weeks searching out the people who opened her eyes to what was really happening. One thing led to another, and Tasha eventually made contact with XCOM. It didn't take much to convince her to join them, especially when she told them she was a pilot and they were needing another Skyranger to transport operatives. Henceforth, Tasha joined the ranks of XCOM, and flew many a glorious Skyranger. Oh, how she loved the craft; her previous training taught her how to take care of vehicles and easily adapt to new crafts. As with her fellow pilots, she was eventually given a nickname by her passengers: Thunderbird, because she could get them to and from where they needed to be before they were even heard.

Preferred Weapon: Markhor SMG. Because pilots get the big guns, but not the big guns that go in your hands.
Favorite Number: 16

It is for the sole purpose of not allowing pilots big guns.

12 hours is a bit short. Give people 16-24 hours to post.

*shrug* I still think more weapon varieties will open more tactical options.

Also, new flag!

I say 16 hours is pretty reasonable.

Not a shabby background. You'll probably alternate Skyranger runs with Firebrand, at least until we get a second ship online. Accepted, as we discussed.
