Introduction

Hello, one and all, to the new and improved Badass Academy! Well, new anyway. Whether or not it's improved is up to you, my fellow RPers. For those of you joining us for the first time, feel free to skip this, and know that I'm excited for you to be a part of this. So long as you read the OP, you'll have all the information needed to jump into the RP without a problem.

Now for those of you returning, either from the original or the most current iteration, know that I've altered things slightly. The monster tiers are changed, the app order has been slightly altered, and I've made some changes to the lore. So please read carefully. While I greatly appreciate what Novia has created, now that I'm taking over I'm tweaking it a bit to serve my needs.




Overview


Every culture has it's myths and monsters. Things that go bump in the night, waiting in the shadows to gobble us up. Things with wings and talons or fins and scales. But no matter how powerful the entity was, humanity could rest easy knowing that the creatures of legends were just that: legends. They couldn't do us any harm. Until now.

In 2016, reports of cryptids and urban legends spiked throughout internet message boards and social media. Soon after, a major news agency in Germany caught a werewolf on film emerging from the Black Forest, but even then most of the world's governments refused to believe that the reports of an anomaly dispensing inter-demensional beings. It wasn't until the rifts opened, swallowing up chunks of the world and depositing monsters that the world realized the true nature of the threat. The fourth wall had crumbled, and pouring forth were all manner of beasts under the control of the powerful Overlord.

Thankfully, humanity had some protectors. A mysterious group known as the Sentinels aided the governments of the world, building great walls and fortifications around major cities, as well as help the military clear out the monstrous hordes when possible. But while the Sentinels could push the monsters back, they couldn't drive them back to the portals from whence the came. As soon as it looked like the Sentinels could be making headway, the rifts closed.

This didn't mean the end of the monsters though. Far from it. Instead of fixed portals, new rifts would open sporadically, depositing new horrors, then blinking out of existence. Sentinel scientists were able to create a shield of sorts to prevent these portals from opening inside the city, but they weren't able to prevent the rifts completely. As the military tried in vain to keep fighting off the rising amounts of monsters, humanity largely retreated behind the walls of its cities. The world needed a new solution. Enter Badass Academy.

Representing humanities last hope, the Academy was built by Sentinel to house and train the biggest badasses the world has ever known. Located in Sheffield, it replaced the City College with a state of the art facility designed with one purpose. To take in all enhanced individuals and train them until they're capable to handle anything and anyone who threatens the planet. One of those people are you, my friend.

The year is now 2019 and the Badasses have begun to show promise. A number of students have been striking down prominent threats on Earth, and the world is beginning to trust the Academy as a way to safeguard the world. Recently, the scientists at Sentinel, along from some tech geniuses from the Academy have discovered a way to take the fight directly to the Supernatural.

And that's where our story starts. A few weeks into the new school year, a number of students are summoned to the briefing room. What happens next, is up to us.



Factions

Badasses


Yep this is what you are. A complete badass. Some are gifted in the arcane arts, some in wield technological wonders, while others can hit things really, really hard. No matter what type of badass you are, rest assured you are the best at what you do. Nobody can outsmart or outdo you in your thing. You are a special breed of human through and through and are the definition of a One Man Doomsday....Or One Woman Doomsday. Either way works. All badasses have some sort of nickname that relates to their specialty.

Marauders


Wherever there is chaos, there are those who seek to take advantage of that.
Marauders are basically bandits who live outside the cities and towns. They're organized into various sized clans, and while they often quarrel among themselves, they do seem to respect a central authority, a mysterious leader named Weston, who gives weapons and other supplies in exchange for loyalty when he asks.

Thanks to years of living out in the wasteland, the are heavily armed and extremely well trained making them very deadly enemies when encountered. They sometimes do deals with groups of supernatural creatures to fight on their side. Some of them also have their own version of Badasses known as Elites.

The Supernatural


These are everything ranging within theFfantasy and Sci-Fi world like Aliens, Werewolves, Halflings, Dragons, Unicorns, Trolls, Vampires, Demons and much, much more. In fact there are too many types of these things to count. Despite their form, they all seem able to be harmed. Some have specific weakness, others require coordinated assaults, but in the end all Supernatural to date have been killable. The Supernatural are all ruled by The Overlord. Although when not amassed together as an army they tend to fight each other as well as the humans. No one has been able to train these beasts, as they seem untamable and willing to fight to the death when needed.

Supernatural tiers:
1: Swarm. Antlions, Zombies, etc. Vulnerable to conventional weapons, these monsters are only dangerous in groups.

2: Mundane. Ghouls, Harpies, Arachnae, etc. More resistant then their swarm counterparts, these monsters are never less susceptible to conventional weapons

3: Cursed. Wraiths, Vampires, Werewolves, etc. These monster are resistant to many conventional weapons, requiring special tactics and tools to defeat them.

4: Sentient. Elves, Aliens, Orcs, etc. While many of these monsters are actually less resistant to conventional weapons then their cursed counterparts, they make up for this with their intelligence, able to build machines or traps to help themselves.

5: Giant. Jotun, Cyclops, Griffin, etc. Largely invulnerable to conventional weapons, these monsters require coordinated assaults or focused attacks on their weak spots to be defeated.

6: Mystical. Dragons, Slenderman, Dracula, etc. Usually known by name, these are the Overlords equivalents of Badasses. Acting as generals, these creatures are often surrounded by or controlling lesser monsters to aide them. You're going to need back up for this one.

7: Divines and Satanics. Angels, Hell Knights, etc. Those who encounter these beasts rarely live to tell the tale. Fight these at your own peril.

Rules


1. Obey the OP (Myself) and CO-OPs (TBA)
2. No one-liners. Ever. If you make a one-liner post, you will receive one mark. If you get three marks, you will be booted. Remember, quality of posts is far better than quantity of posts.
3. No godmodding. And if you have a char v. char fight, you must make certain to work directly with the other author to determine how the fight will end.
4. No killing or harming another character without their author's permission, unless I personally declare that such damage is necessary.

6. Try to have a decent level of realism. We're playing many incredibly powerful individuals, but what you do should line up with the rules of the world as well as logic. When I read through what you write, I want it to make sense in my mind.

OP and Co-OP posting schedule
  • College is hard, but I want to stick with this RP. So I'm going to designate Mondays and Fridays as my guaranteed story moving days. If for some reason I'm unavailable, I will let you all know ahead of time.
  • We may ask everyone to take a day or two and refrain from posting. This will only be if the IC is moving too fast, and we are trying to implement a major story post
  • If we take longer than the respective limits, and are not trying to make a story forwarding post, we may announce the suspension of classes. This means you are free to follow your own character stories within reason. Don't kill important NPC's, don't leave the surrounding area without an OP's/Co-OP's permission, things like that. However, when we tell you to get back on track, we mean it.

So monsters can't join the academy or are they still allowed in?
I believe that madness can find more madness, and that every ounce of madness has a spark of truth. And truth, as you know, has a way of depressing people who don't want to find it.

No one is 100% honest... We all keep 20% of the truth from the world, to protect ourselves & sometimes others.

Personality:Zamiel's human side is tactic and a heavy thinker. He's a good strategist and tends to calculate the odds. However he is nothing if not honorable, loyal, mostly merciful, and generally nice. His monster side however is incredibly proud of himself and cocky to an extreme. He gets this from the fact that not many people can even challenge him and he considers anyone who can to be his rival. He's sadistic and brutal, choosing to prolong a challengers death to inflect the maximum amount of pain, torture, fear, and humiliation possible.

Bio: Zamiel was just an average boy when a vampire army attacked his town. The ransacked his town and converted every male they could find and killed all the women. He was turned into a vampire and forced to kill his own mother and sister. Doing this created a sadistic vampire side of him that turns him a cold-blooded killing machine. He spent most of his life in this vampire state, all the while going up through the ranks of the vampire army he was forced to join. Every now and then however his human side takes control and he's a lot less sadistic and murderous. He later found that his monster side lets him take control more often when he's calm and almost refuse to when he is enraged.

Naturally his higher-ups didn't like that Zamiel would switch between human and monster so they tried to kill him, only to get killed themselves by Zamiel's monster side. After that encounter, Zamiel realized his monster side had a sense of self preservation and a personality all to itself. Instead of hating this monster for what it has done, he starts relying on it to become stronger and move forward. After killing off all his ranking officers, Zamiel became the general of what was left of the vampire army. He spent some time doing what they used to do until a thought struck Zamiel. What's better than an army of vampires? One vampire with the power of an army. So he killed off the rest of the army and absorbed their essence through their blood becoming the unstoppable killing machine he is now. With nothing else to turn to and nowhere else to go, the human side of Zamiel deiced that join the Academy as an instructor and use his vampire powers against the monsters. While working there he agreed to let the Headmaster put in an alchemical chip in his brain to prevent the Overlord from controlling him while in his monster form. It will also release blessed silver into Zamiel's brain if he goes rouge, incapacitating him for 24 hours. As an Instructor at the Academy, he will be teaching History and Defense against the Supernatural.

Character Story: Zamiel wants nothing more than to find a challenging opponent. Someone as powerful as Zamiel deserves someone to push him to his limits and beyond forcing him to actually try when he fights. He believes that dying to an equal would be worth something and refuses to die any other way. However he wouldn't make it easy, using every tactic he has and finding new ones if he has to in order to give the ultimate battle.

Powers/Abilities
  • Ultimate Regeneration- Zamiel's ability to regenerate is considerably greater than any other vampire's. When damaged to an extreme extent, his body turns into a mist-like state and goes into reconstruction mode that last 2 hours. Exceedingly holy weapons have been shown to incapacitate him for a longer time period.
  • Superhuman Accuracy: Zamiel has been known to hit targets at great range using handguns while looking the other way.
  • Superhuman Strength- Can lift objects weighing over 3 tons with ease.
  • Superhuman Speed- Can move faster than the eye can see.
  • Superhuman Reflexes- Can catch speeding bullets
  • Superhuman Agility- The ability to defy gravity to an uncertain limit. He is also seen leaping impossible distances and can walk up vertical surfaces. He also has the ability to levitate.
  • Intangibility- Can walk through walls
  • Hypnosis
  • Slight Immunity to Vampire Weaknesses- Unaffected by sunlight and only delayed by silver weapons. Heavily delayed by Holy weapons and magic.
  • Shapeshifting- Can shapeshift into any creature of the night.
  • Weapon Proficiency
  • Neigh-Immortality- If one could destroy all the lives that Zamiel has absorbed over the years then one could kill his prime form. Otherwise he has to be incapacitated and kept away from any blood for over one hundred years. However there are certain exceptionally powerful holy weapons that only need to kill him a total of three combined to kill him completely.

Equipment: Zamiel can figure out and practically master any weapon he picks up but he prefers to use his two high powered, semi-automatic handguns, Hawkmoon and Fatebringer. The ammunition consist of high impact, hollow point rounds.

Weakness:
  • Needs blood of others to survive.
  • Can be incapacitate by Holy weapons or magic for a period of time.
  • If killed three times by any extremely powerful holy weapons, or Sacred Weapons, then he dies permanently.
  • Depending on the damage done to him, needs time to regenerate.

Bio:
Inès was born in Luxembourg City to a caring mother and father. He was a only child, and loved going outside, observing the stars. He was also a good scientist, but he adored games. He loved escaping into his video games, playing into the night while his parents were asleep. Of course, all good things have to end. When he was 10, a rift opened right in Luxembourg city. Horrible monsters came out, murdering all in their path, including his parents. This was the awakening of his powers. As the zombie turned on him, he charged right at him. He didn't know what he did, but he woke up the next morning in his house with the zombies head decapitated from his body.
Inès knew that Luxembourg wasn't safe, so he ran. Just as well, really, because he witnessed a horde of zombies entering the city.

Inès began to train his powers. He had enhanced agility,strength, and his finger nails was as sharp as knives. He worked on all of these, training 20 hours a day everyday. He eventually ended up at Badass Academy after a Sentinel observed him training, and took him in.

Character Story: Inès's goal is to avenge his family, by wiping out every single Supernatural. He wants everything to return the way it was, because Inès worries that once he defeats every last super natural he will have no goal anymore...

Powers/Abilities As previously mentioned, Inès has enhanced agility and strength. His fingernails are as sharp as knives, and he can pierce hearts. He doesn't make any sound when he goes for the kill.

Equipment: Inès wears light armor, and carries a knife at all times.

Weakness: When Inès gets really angry, he loses his control over himself, and will attack anything.

''We've been here for 5 hours. Why hasn't the door opened?'' Tony asked. ''I... don't know.'' Tom replied. ''It was all laid out to me, like in a dream. We would be free.'' ''I think you're a loony.'' Tony said. ''This place is fucking freezing, and we've had the decency to wait for you for 5 hours, and you don't know? Don't bring us here on a whim, you dipshit. This is a fucking life or death situation. The paramilitary is going to be here any moment, we are going to be fucking hanged because of you. We should have went the otherway-'' ''Wait.'' Tom asked. ''The door! It's opening! Quick, run!'' Tony followed Tom as they ran out of the enclosed space. For the first time, they breathed fresh air, not the fake air they create that leaves a horrid aftertaste in your mouth. It was a lush field, heavenly. ''There's the truck! Anna's waiting! Lets run!'' Tom shouted. They ran quickly, but they heard terror.

A whizzing of a helicopter.
Tony looked behind, and he saw 20 men running towards them.
Suddenly, he was shot in the leg. He fell over. The grass rushed to meet his face. A headshot later. Tony Areackaman was dead. Tom, seeing his friends death, was sad. He ran as fast as he could, to the Truck. He jumped in and it drove off.
Two days later, Tommy arrived in the Free Republic of Iriko.

Personality: Quite faithful and loyal when angered is very dangrous
Bio: Born to a young teen couple in a small village, it is unclear if she is of normal human birth since her mother claimed to be a virgin at time of conception. This could easily be a lie as her father shook his head everytime it was said. What is know is that when Alyssa was 3 a dog was attacking her and before her grandparents could fight the dog off it was sent flying after being bit with a energy that was described as "shadowy" by onlookers. Since then the village folk began a deep resentment for the child calling her a demon and a witch. The only person who still stuck but her was her father. Even her mother left them calling her own child "spawn of evil".
Life was her father was rough up to age 6 when taking a walk one day the two we attacked and Alyssa was forced to watch her father beaten down and killed as she was tied down forced to watch. This, however, was when her powers fully manifested. As her father laid bleeding and dying the gang that attacked him where in turn attacked by shadow creations akin to knifes or other sharp objects. All that was found was the young shadowmancer surrounded by bloody bodies clutching her father in tears.
She was forced to flee as police found her at this scene and got away by hiding in the shadows. She began her life as a drifter. No money, no family, no friends, Alyssa travelled west no goal in mind looking for an answer to why. She eventually came across a older gentleman who took her in to his caravan at age 7. The man told her of incredible artifacts and even helped her understand her powers giving her the nicknames "shadow bug" and "shadow princess".
Unfortunate events continued for young Alyssa, as she approached age 9 a fire engulfed the carvan where she live the old man helped her escape and gave her a letter that was addressed to her from B.A. not soon after at a inn in a british town the old man died of natural causes. This cause the already shy alyssa to go grief stricken. A few weeks after she was approached by men who told her off B.A. and would safely take her there to being her new life.

Character Story: While it isn't exactly clear if she was born of a normal human birth or a spawn of pure shadow energy, it is clear that young Alyssa has had a hard life being abandoned by her mother and seeing her father killed. Shes been living homeless since her mother disowned her searching for a certain relic shes unwilling to tell others about. Coming to Badass academy to hone her skills she also believes the relic is somewhere on campus. She also wants everybody she meets to not suffer as she has. She will do anything to help her classmates even if it causes her self harm.
Powers/Abilities: Shadow tracking, Minor shadow creation(like a ball made of shadow engery) shadow possession of things her height or smaller.
Equipment: Staff of Shadow shadow cloak Shadow dagger
Weakness: young age causes her to have blackout periods which leave her highly vunerably as well as lack of control

Nah don't worry about I think you've done a fine job. I'm assuming all the objectives we set out to do in the last RP have been fulfilled here right? Sheffield has it's military infrastructure in place?

Bio: There is a man known by many names, but he prefers one name above all others. King Kickass was not a mantle thrust upon him by war or strife - it was one he chose for himself, and through his life spent cutting a swath through his foes it has become known to those who speak in hushed whispers in the toughest and seediest parts of the walled cities of this shattered world.

This man was once a mere child - a child who by the age of twelve was developing an impressive mustache and a taste for grizzly bear steaks. Stolen from his birth parents, reared in a test-tube and raised on a diet of steroids and mind-altering drugs, this child was intended as the first of a new line of super soldiers designed to fight the future enemies of the state and serve as the All-American poster-boys of the United States Armed Forces. Everything went terribly wrong one day, as it always does with the best kinds of mad science, and somewhere beneath the unforgiving sands of the Mojave Desert a secret government laboratory was destroyed in an impressive explosion. Out of the burning ruins of that testimony to science and higher-learning (combined as it was with a supreme lack of ethics) walked a diapered toddler with a bottle of whiskey in one hand and a bloodied crowbar in the other. Growing up alone in the harsh wilderness, sheltering in an abandoned movie store, the impressionable child was raised on 80's action movies and Punisher comics until ten years later, a young man emerged to see the world for himself.

His brain warped by mindless television and his sanity long washed away by artificially increased testosterone levels, for several years the half-feral failed super-soldier prototype roamed the entire world. Brawling in the pubs of the Scottish Highlands, learning the great Viking Sagas in Norway, wrestling bears in Siberia, fighting luchadores in the Mexican underworld, and leaving a trail of Yakuza ninja hitmen corpses in the backstreets of Tokyo, the young King Kickass soon learned he was a virtually invincible walking action movie hero like those he learned about in the pseudo-teachings of his violent childhood. Surfacing from the bloody underworld to find a world besieged by supernatural forces, his powers appeared seemingly as the result of spending nearly a decade in an maelstrom of ultra-violence during a long-redundant puberty. During his first enthusiastic fight with what would be considered nowadays as the meager vanguard of the now rampaging forces from beyond the 4th Wall, he managed to tap into the very essence of badassery itself, awakening his latent powers and garnering the blessing of the Gods of Heavy Metal.

The resulting release of his powers, used in the ensuing enthusiastic battle, wiped an entire city off the map. Alone in the ruins, the now twenty-year-old man realized he had strayed from what it meant to be a hero, blinded as he was by wanton blood-lust. Struggling with his identity and confronted by strange new abilities, he retreated into the shadowy underbelly of society as the fourth-wall was sundered and chaos spilled forth. He has come out of his self-imposed exile upon hearing rumours of a school where the most badass warriors on the planet are forged, trained to use and control their powers. Determined to learn how to protect innocents from his vast destructive capabilities and kick more ass than physically possible, King Kickass traveled the land, resolving to find and join the Badass Academy.

Character Story: King Kickass is a half-insane giant of a man obsessed with being the toughest bastard on the planet. His greatest desire, other than blowing stuff up and looking cool as hell while doing so, is to learn how to control and use his powers without causing innocent casualties and to be the greatest hero known to human kind.

Powers/Abilities Kickass' secondary abilities include beard and chest hair hard enough to deflect anti-tank rounds, the constitution to consume lethal doses of alcohol, and super-soldier levels of strength and stamina.

His most impressive power, however, is the ability to tap into the metaphysical essence of the world around him (specifically that concerning the notions of manliness, "badassery", martial skill, and epic scale) and craft it into a physical form through the use of ancient and dark guitar riffs taught to him by undead Viking Skalds, bringing his unholy creations into the world from the miniaturized warmth of thermonuclear fire. In layman's terms, when badassery occurs around him he can make objects appear out of thin air (with the added special affect of adorable little mushroom clouds accompanying their creation) through the playing of heavy metal music.

However, what and how much he can create is limited in scope and complexity by the amount of badassery that occurs around him. He can use his abilities within moments of something badass occurring or allow it to build up over time, storing it inside him until ready for use. Small acts of bare-knuckle ass-kicking, cheesy one-liners, and explosions over a large period of time can be used to create increasingly badass objects, while singular acts of blood-and-whiskey-soaked violent extravagance will allow him to procure things on a massive scale in a matter of seconds. What he can create ranges from a pile of hollow-point 50. calibre bullets and Cuban cigars, all the way up to massive battleships, walking tanks, and cannon-armed zeppelins. Summoned objects can last upwards of 12 hours - however, the largest and most complex objects, or objects that exist longer than 15 hours, must be regularly "recharged" with badass energy every 2 hours.

Furthermore, his role as the Bard is embodied further in his ability to grant special abilities to his allies for temporary periods. His mastercrafted centuries-old hellspawned guitar can, through the playing of certain songs improve the durability of his comrades, give their weaponry elemental effects, raise morale, or even improve the effectiveness of their special powers depending on conditions. Most, if not all, of these special bonuses are accompanied by a significant increase in the size of explosions, frequency of lighting strikes, and volume of metal music in the surrounding area. The effectiveness of these bonuses is determined somewhat by the camaraderie Kickass has with his allies.

Equipment: Kickass has the ability to create some weapons and equipment at a whim, in the condition that he has enough stored "Badass Energy" relative to the badassery of what he intends to create. Larger objects require extremely large levels of badass energy. Stored badassery will drain away during periods of inactivity.

Nevertheless, Kickass has some possessions he sometimes carries with him. They include two massive revolvers, multiple brass knuckles, a pair of sawn-off triple-barrel shotguns joined at the grips with a chain (which Kickass refers to as his "Gunchuks"), a sword with a chainsaw blade, and a seemingly endless supply of cigars and whiskey bottles which are kept deep in the recesses of his magnificent beard. His most prized possession is Ragnarøckr, a centuries-old Norse electric guitar crafted by the master smiths of the Dvergr from the wood of one hundred torched Viking funeral longships and metal from the battleaxes of the dead, using the fires of Hell and the blood of slain tyrants. The strings are tendons from felled Frost Giants and the ivory inlay are carved from the bones of defeated Kraken.

Weakness: Kickass' faults include: large and loud, to the point where stealth is near impossible; can be obnoxious and arrogant, hard to get along with for some; supremely confident to a fault; can't (or refuses to) use his powers to create "non-badass" things like medical supplies; he's not the sharpest tool in the shed, to say the least; powers are limited by the performance of himself, his allies, and/or the context of his surroundings; creation of objects requires massive amounts of badass energy; flies into a berzerker rage at the sight of "girly stuff"; stored badassery is drained by the presence of boring people, events, surroundings, etc. and extended periods of inactivity. If his guitar is lost or destroyed (a highly unlikely event since it can take the equivalent of a Russian high-yield thermobaric warhead and come out unscathed) Kickass will have to climb the highest volcano in Iceland, fight the Neverdying Berzerker Horde of Bjornvald Gorebeard, and sacrifice a Nickleback fan to the High Lords of Metal to recreate it from the molten rock, destroying much of the surrounding countryside in the process.

Name: Dagon Argrave

Personality: Dagon is very extroverted. He talks to everyone, and all the time. Due to his insanity, he is rather irratic, but never dangerous to his friends, who he's willing to help at nearly any cost.

Bio: Imagine, soldiers who could strike with the fury of the heavens, someone who made their enemies feel as if Judgement Day had come early for them. This was the idea behind the Archangel program, a secret military project designed to be the perfect blend of genetics, technology, and magic. By augmenting a person's DNA to give them superhuman capabilities, altering their brains to make them unquestioningly loyal, then giving these individuals techno-arcane weapons and armor, the Archangels were set upon the world to preform impossible missions and black bag operations as the organization saw fit. However, they weren't perfect. Due to the nature of their missions, the Archangels would often take serious injuries performing their duties, which meant weeks or months in a healing chamber. Enter Archangel-7.

He was to be the first in a new wave of Archangels. Aside from the usual genetic alternations, Archangel-7 would also receive a powerful healing factor, allowing him to stay in active use for longer. Ironically, the healing factor would prove fatal if left unchecked. As a result, Archangel-7 was given an experimental set of techno-arcane armor and weapons which were powered with his own life-force. Full of amazing abilities, Archangel-7 would have every tool at his disposal. He was now a one-man special ops team, capable of fulfilling any and all roles for any mission. He was given the codename Duma, after the archangel of silence, because of his efficiency and his tendency to only speak when absolute necessary.

Duma was proving quite the asset, so the scientists decided to experiment on him further. They had recently discovered the "fourth wall," a sort of barrier between the fabric of reality that oracles and sages used to create their prophesies. While these magic users had been doing this naturally for centuries, scientist could now pinpoint where this "wall" was. Soon they began theorizing of what would happen if you linked someone's mind to this wall, hoping to create a soldier who would have a sort of precognition, able to avoid harm before it touched them. Because the scientists had no idea what kinds of adverse affects would happen to a human test subject, and knowing that Duma possessed an amazing healing factor, they decided to mess with Duma's mind. Through a complex procedure, Duma's mind was tied to the fourth wall. At that point, a rush of ideas and forces invaded Duma's psyche. Eventually, Duma sprang from the table, he mind suddenly clear. He remembered everything, every horrible act he had every committed, and it was all because of the Archangel program. Duma was dead. Arising from it's broken psyche was Azrael, the archangel of vengeance. And he knew who he'd bring to justice first.

Donning his suit, Azrael killed everyone inside of the testing chamber. As security forces rushed in, he barged past them, heading not for the exit, but for his brothers and sisters. He reached the cryochambers, and released the other Archangel. Manipulating the fourth wall, he freed their minds from obedience and together, they destroyed all traces of the Archangel program as best they could. As the complex was reduced to rubble, the Archangels went their separate ways, each trying to atone for their deeds in their own way. Some left to hunt down the remnants of the program, others went to live normal lives. Azrael chose the third option. When he was connected to the fourth wall, something happened. He didn't know what it was, but he knew he would play a role in whatever it was. Taking the name given to him by the narrator, Dagon said goodbye to his family and moved on.

Traveling to the UK, he stayed at the Badass Academy as an observer. Here, he made some close friends, something he had never done thanks to the Archangel program. He also learned what it was he felt the day he was connected to the fourth wall: it's deterioration. Monsters had entered the world of man, and he had to stop it. He's now the most experienced student of Badass Academy, ready to help defend the world with his new found friend.

Character Story: Dagon's here to make friends and train. Having enjoyed his time prior attending B.A, he is excited to meet with the other badasses of the world. He also wants to learn the full extent of his powers. How to control them, what can they do, all those types of things. He would also love to learn what's happened to his fellow Archangels.

Powers/Abilities As a result of the Archangel program, Dagon's strength, speed, agility, stamina, reflexes and senses are above that of even the greatest human specimen. He has an amazing healing factor, allowing from any injury and allows for immunity to telepaths, drugs, and poisons. Dagon is also an expert swordsman and gunfighter, able to put human fighters to shame. His true strength, however, lies in his ability to use his variety of skills and weapons.

Dagon's armor also grants him access to the Archangel feats, skills made to mimic those of archangels. Currently, these skills include teleportation, bullet time (slowing down the perception of time so he can react quicker to combat scenarios), and the activation of the Sword of Sin and Salvation. However, Dagon has reason to believe there are more skills, waiting to be unlocked.

Finally, due to the strange mix of the arcane and science, Dagon's mind can "read" the fourth wall. This allows him to gain limited foreknowledge of events, and learn about people and creatures where he otherwise would not, all thanks to a narrator he calls Doc.

Equipment: The Suit of Sorrows is a techno-organic armor fused with arcane energy. Created originally as a means of keeping the rampant healing factor in check, the Suit syphons the life-force of the wearer to repair and power itself. The Suit has a variety of functions, most of which have not been discovered. However, he knows it can absorb and reflect magical and energy based attacks, scan his surroundings, and transform into street clothes. The Suit also is capable of projecting realistic holograms over Dagon, complete with audio. Dagon uses this to show the face he presents as his, a Caucasian male with brown hair and brown eyes. Finally, the Suit has hammer-space poaches - a form of infinite storage named after the holes cartoon characters could pull hammers from.

His weapons are the Sword of Sin and the Sword of Salvation. The Sword of Sin is a magic flaming blade which burns bright when facing evil entities. It can morph into a pistol or a variety of explosive and heavy weapons. In this form it is black with red runes. It is also capable of making those injured by it face the pain of the sins they've inflicted as an Archangel feat. The Sword of Salvation is a magic blade with a cold aura which glows with a blue aura when in the presence of good. It can morph into a pistol, or a variety of more precise weapons and gadgets. In this form it is light grey with blue runes. As an Archangel feat, it is also able to force those who the sword passes through to tell the whole and unconditional truth. Both weapons are extremely sharp and can pierce most normal armors and shields, as well as through normal shields and wards.

Weakness: Dagon was created to be a soldier useful in any scenario. As a result, he's a jack of all trades, master of none. Meaning badass specialists can prove a problem if he fights them on their terms. While his physical capabilities are high, he can still be injured in the same manner as humans. Even his armor, though it contains many secrets, can sustain enough damage to allow damage to occur to Dagon's body.

His healing factor is awesome, but takes time. The more damages, the more time it takes. Plus, he feels pain, and while he's usually able to get past it, major damage can render him solely focused on his own regeneration.

Finally, the Archangel feats and armor, while incredible, are fueled by his life-force. Normally, this just means the healing factor is kept in check, but while using the feats his healing factor is actually halted to that of a normal human. This means that should his armor fail, he can't heal himself until a short period of time after he stops using the feat.

Personality: Has a certain shyness to her. She isn't used to big crowds, considering she used to hang out with her sister so much and moved around too much. This led her to be sort of introverted, and, combined with her large size and lack of people skills, came to be intimidating. People have a hard time talking to her, really. She can be highly emotional despite her appearances, but also unstable. The lack of a sister, along with how much people have hope in her, has caused her to develop suicidal tendencies. She has a love for cute and tiny things, and often plays a defender-like role in her social groups. Her hopes to maintain some semblance of a normal life has caused her to focus heavily on preserving her social relations. This involves her being much harsher around anyone who does wrong to her friends. All of this, while trying to save the world... yeah, no pressure, no worries, nothing bad'll happen

Bio: Usteldt. The armor is a mystery to me. I didn't want it, but I was kind of, well, forced into it. My family often travelled, so me and my sister had gotten used to not sticking around. We were traveling through the forest, one day, during Winter. It was a silly thing, but we often chased each other till we were lost, practically. We would've returned home with nothing special happening had we not witnessed something odd. A meteor had soared through the sky, sailed, ran, and then fallen. It exploded in an uproar, upon that solemn, lonely forest. We rushed to explore only to see what seemed to be a meteor. The meteor had a small opening in it.

We went into it, as curiosity often does. My sis was skeptical about going in, but I forced her. The inside betrayed the outside, with a futuristic feel to it. There were pipes that had burst. It looked to have broken down. I say "it" as I really didn't know what it was. It was also notably larger than it should have been, and we took the time to explore it. My sis was busy shuffling forward like a shy, scared girl does, as I traversed the inside of it, until I came to a lone room. Inside was an odd receptacle. As I came closer inside, the receptacle opened to reveal a mysterious watch (I guess you'd call it that). As I moved even closer, the object began to glow a bright green. Soon, it latched on to my arm. I ran out of there confused and scared, taking my sis with me. I tried many times to pull it off, but it would come off. Frightening, to be sure.

By the time any of that meant anything, I had mostly forgotten about that day.

Roughly five years later, our family had finally taken to staying in one place. Settled down in a small town far in the rural portions of America. The "interdimensional rifts" as my parents described them, had become a reality for a long time. The sentinels were a common thing and the school had been around for just as long. People often agreed that these rifts were a nightmare that came and went. A natural disaster, in concept, but much worse. Our small town had only seen it in the news, but never been a reality. Always seemed unreal, until it happened to us...

A rift opened near the edge of town which, considering how small it was, was something everybody could see. It was right next to everyone in the town, having consumed a couple of buildings already. It was still one of the largest rifts in a long time, with only two sentinels in the areas to respond. Creatures spewed out and attacked. People ran but not fast enough. The creatures were not like many others which just killed people, these monsters came to take them. It was kinda like the old Japanese stories. Children would be swooped up in the middle of the night by some unknown demon, until they were gone--poof, spirited away-- never to be seen again. At this moment, that wristwatch that never came off began to burn on my arm. It pulsated, it singed, it ached...

It spoke. Talking for a long moment, instantaneously with time slowed down before me. It gave a long diatribe about some ancient alien race which had gone long extinct. This race suffered something just as we did now, and had devised weapons to stop this. They consulted old texts and new technology. They blended the powers, magical and technological. What came was a set of battle armor meant to end the horde from beyond. They tried. By the time the suits were ready, the horde had killed most of them off. Only the scientists were alive, as much as they knew. It was apparent that they would not be saved. Inside this suit lay one of the scientists, who called themselves architects. He never spoke of what the race was called, calling it "irrelevant." He only wanted to preserve other races, as did the others. The other architects, and other battle systems remain unknown, but it is believed they had been tasked to wander the farthest depths of the galaxy, looking for life not yet attacked.

And so the suit told me, and its mentor had awoken. Usteldt had been actuated. I hadn't known how to pilot the suit, yet I wielded it like a natural. it almost felt like it worked with me, instinctually. Its power was immense, able to teleport around, slice through some of the sturdiest monsters, blast out beams of concentrated energy, and even transport entire buildings, in some instances. The suit could last an hour, if unused, but all its weapons functions could drain it to equal anywhere in between that. Its a gamble. The monsters could be dispatched, and it felt like this "thing" could do near anything.

What it could not do, was save my sis, who had been dragged away before it could be realized. The creatures were dispatched, and the rift closed, but not before my sister was taken.

Character Story: The other side of the rift. Not even the bravest (or maybe dumbest) sentinels have attempted a jump down there. What could lie on the other side? It could be the very depths of every person's nightmares, it could be something beyond human reasoning, it could be the only chance to find her sister. That sort of childish hope doesn't leave you after you watch something like that. The ghosts and monsters took the child, but for what? Even if her sister was dead, she wanted to find her. If they kept her alive for some reason, all the better. She would make sure to find our what those creatures did, even if that meant jumping down a rift similar to the one that appeared in her town. You could imagine why this is a bad idea, but she is definitely dumb enough to do it.

Powers/Abilities Power armor, brought to you by an alien race.
  • Superhuman strength
  • the eight swords of U-steldt:A mix of arcane and scientific arts, these energy swords are located on his waist and extend outwardly in a circle. These represent her magical reserves whilst wielding the armor. They are drained two at a time. He can wield these as energy swords or drain a full set of swords for an energy blast (can be augmented to be stronger, but requires more energy). They also work as a levitation and flight system for aerial combat
  • teleportation/instantaneous velocity
  • Warp Circle:Able to place a teleportation circle around an object(s), allowing for instantaneous teleportation of an object. Depending on the object, will require more from her reserves.
  • Energy shield
  • Superhuman endurance
  • resistance to hypnotic attacks and other attacks to her mind.

Equipment: U-Steldt Battling Systems: A specialized black wristwatch. Has a sweet talking alien inside of it (bonus).

Weakness: Time restricted-energy reserves cannot be contained and leak out naturally. Using energy reserves also plays into this. It was either ann accidental feature caused due to impact or a constraint put in place in case the suit goes haywire. As an indicator of energy levels, the swords also change color based on power level: green and large (full power), Blue and medium sized (medium power), red and small (Getting close to E). Will die if you punch her hard enough, as well. Even easier if she is in normal form. yep, that last part is a bit of a shocker for some people.
