Ostea (A Pantheon RP) - OOC

IC - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=354215
Summary of everything that's happened so far - https://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=355892

It is said that the Earth in which we live was carved with a whittling knife. For forty days and forty nights, the Great Carver shaped a perfect globe, and then chiseled ragged canyons and mountains into his creation. He engraved hills and trees and oceans on the Earth, and tiny, winding rivers and streams. Satisfied, the Great Carver let go of the sphere, and watched it hang in space. He touched the Earth, and colour washed over it. Enormous pride filled his heart, and he named the planet Ostea. Next, he created divine beings with his carving knife, each one perfect in every aspect. He gave them power over Ostea, and made them gods.

Contented, the Great Carver watched as the new gods created things of marvelous beauty, and the world evolved and changed at their whim...

This is a Pantheon RP, where you have the power to shape civilization. There are various races that already inhabit Ostea (see below for a list of them), but the gods are by far the most powerful. The races of Ostea are currently in a state that's half-way between Iron-age and Medieval times. Remember: the main way for gods to gather power is to gain followers. It is wise to build temples IC. Every once in a while, I'll calculate how much power each god has, based on the size of their domain, and their number of temples and followers.

Rules:
-No meta-gaming, god-modding, etc...
-No killing of gods unless the RP'er of that god gives you his consent (only gods can kill gods).

I'll be CO-OP

Name: Chanarus
Domain of power: (what are you the god of?) Fire, Destruction and Demons
Appearance/picture: Image
Gender: Male
Weapon: (you don't have to have one, but it may be useful (just in case...)) None, for now.
Bio: (more than five sentences)
Chanarus was born from the fire. He descended onto Earth, and tested his power with the flame. He found out that it destroyed. He began torching the world. However, the other gods tried to stop him. He created a legion of minions, which he called Demons. He was defeated, and so he created his own pocket dimension, which he named Chanarus. He continued to go onto the mortal world to further his agenda, but has stepped down in his evil activities.
Personality: Very crafty, serious, evil.

Also, two new races:

Chanar (demon)

High strength
Good engineer
Not smart
Not good at magic.
Poor speed

Tanar (demon)

High intellegence
High speed
Good at magic
Poor strength

I'm not a death god, you know.

by Caralia
Name: Martius Daia
Domain of power: The God of War.
Appearance/picture: Martius is ever shifting in shape and appearance, ranging from a limping neanderthal clutching a sharpenned stone, to a gigantic, muscular humanoid wearing a suit of chainmail and armour of interlocking plates. His eyes glow with the heat of the forge, the roar of his voice emulates a thousand million war cries, and his calloused hands have wielded every blade, club or bow ever conceived by man or beast. To any normal observer, he practically exhales confidence, strength and martial attitude.
Gender: Male.
Weapon: Martius wields every weapon. Weapons and armour are his domain, and as such he simply has access to whichever items he so desires. His current weapons are a one handed mace and a two handed greatsword, along with a large metal shield for the mace. He occasionally rides in a chariot, led by two Aurochs, skin built of iron, their eyes of molten brass.
Bio: Man fights. It is simply nature, since the time the first microbe enveloped it's colleague, to the battles of late antiquity, or the highly organized militaries forming in this new world of comparative order. Through all this, Martius has been there. The book of his life is first written in runes on a wall, then engraved on the flesh of slaves, then carved into tablets or leather, until papyrus, paper and canvas were realized. He has played his part in every battle ever held. Where there is fighting, he is present, in some capacity, setting down the cloud of red mist over the combatants, and goading them onward to battle. He creates conflict, by his prescence, whether that is good or bad is determined by circumstance. But what it is, in all capacities, is violence. Pure, simple violence, often simply for the purpose of causing harm. Little to no reason is ever needed, especially where Martius is present.
Personality: Martius is proud, strong and confident. He believes himself the greatest warrior in all creation, and he has not been disproved so far. To many, he would be evil, but that is not quite the truth. He does not cause war for his own sake, he simply supports the beginnings of war to facilitate the endless cycle of change, that civilization has threatened to cease.

Races added by Martius:
Giants:
Phenomenally Strong and Martially experienced
Poor Craftsmen
No magical ability
Small numbers.

Hobgoblins:
Very Disciplined
Stronger than Humans.
Prolific Breeders.
Brutal and uncultured, almost entirely without morals.
Terrible Magicians.

Cool! You're accepted (since I'm CO-OP). Since I'm the god of destruction, maybe we could be allies.

Oh, and I'll add your new races to the Intro Post

Done

PostPosted: Fri Sep 18, 2015 4:58 pm
by Shadowwell
Name: Rahdon Var'us
Domain of power: Chaos,
Cults, rituals, and blood.
Appearance/picture:The guy in this pic CAn change his form, but that is his true one. He can possess and/take the form of any of his cultists/servants.
Gender: Male
Weapon: a blood red battle axe
Bio: While most of the other gods were made from things they now control by the Great Carver. Rahdon was different, he was made from the pieces discarded by the Great carver while he was creating the gods. When discarding one last piece, the Great carver bled, from an unnoticeable wound. The blood would meld with the Cast off pieces and thus Rahdon was born. He cannot act on the Mortal realm except in certain circumstances. He is bitter and manipulative, seeing most races as being pieces in a game, even though he corrupted through chaos to serve him. He does not seek the destruction of all, as that would leave him alone and without entertainment. He seeks to create chaos and watch as others struggle against it. He left knowledge in the minds of some of the races of the other gods, the knowledge would only reveal itself when the being was at its most desperate. The knowledge would include a ritual that would give the being power, at a cost. The same knowledge would be spread throughout the world in hidden tomes.
Personality: Vicious, manipulative, Cunning, cares little for his servants, only the amusement and power they can bring him. Destructive.

He has no original races, however when he grants powers to a being/race, they gain great pwoer, and go through a change until they appear to be a corrupted version of their former self.

Traits of beings that serve him, as well as traits of his cultists.

Aggressive, destructive, They are bloodthirsty and more weakminded races become fanatical.
His more devout servants can be 'promoted' and take a monstrous almost demonic form. The weaker minded the servant the more powerful and permanant the form.

Well, my character will be maipulative and see himself as a force of balance, as well as of chaos.
Also destruction can cause chaos as can demons and Fire, so my guy could be an aqcuiantance of sorts to your character or something.
I can change it if you wish.

He's just a little too similar... I'm still thinking.
