VILLAGE IN NEW ZEALAND DISAPPEARS

A small village of native sustenance farmers in New Zealand was discovered empty after an Australian helicopter pilot returning from monitoring a coastal weather pattern saw smoke coming from the gathering of homes and small farms. When he landed, he found that the village was lifeless and vacant, except for the corpse of a small boy who had apparently been beaten to death with a wooden plank. The helicopter pilot reported a strange odor and apparent makeshift fortifications around done of the huts. He is now in a hospital in Canberra due to intense coughing, nausea, and excessive nosebleeds. Researchers are unable to explain his sudden illness.

No more automatic guns. Period. It's gone too far. And apps with more than one gun will be frowned upon.

Welcome to Infection.
This is a character RP about a hypothetical zombie outbreak in the near future. It will be divided into 'Chapters', or sections of the IC in which key events happen. Chapter 1 will be titled "Panic". In Panic, the initial outbreak occurs in New Zealand. However, the characters will not know just how dangerous it is until a news broadcast is aired, informing the general public that the virus is not a variant of rabies, and that there is no cure or vaccine. At this point, there will be riots and the apocalypse begins. This should happen fairly quickly after RPing starts. I may create a spinoff nation RP after this one dies down.
RULES
The rules are the same as in pretty much every RP. They should go without saying, but if I don't say them, someone is bound to break them. So, here's the basics:
1. No godmodding. If you don't know what this is, this rule means be reasonable and don't do anything that a normal human couldn't do. Also, be realistic with what your chracter could know about the situation. If they've been a prepper for twenty years, then, sure they can know that it's a zombie outbreak. If they're just some office Joe, then they should have no clue. Keep this in mind while posting.
2. Keep IC on the IC and OOC on the OOC. If someone is really ticking you off on the IC, no matter how tempting it is, don't yell at them on the IC. move it to the OOC. If they don't read the OOC, just TG them with your complaints.
3. Be civil. Don't get too in-depth with religion, politics, race, or other social issues on the OOC unless it directly relates to the RP. This keeps people from fighting and ragequitting, and also gives trolls less food.
4. No trolling. If trolls won't stop or pay attention to bans/suspensions, then ignore them. Whatever you do, don't feed the trolls.
5. I know it takes place in the 'near future', but assume that technology has barely progressed beyond a 2015 level at the start of the RP. No hoverboards unless they're that crappy kind that you need to charge for four hours, only hovers an inch off the ground for ten minutes, and your character is rich.
6. Obey the OP or Co-OP.
7. If your character is dying, and it's not because another character is godmodding, then let them die. True, there may be some occasional lifesaving situations, but don't just say that you healed from a knife in your chest by taking it easy.
8. If you quit, don't be a jerk and kill someone right before you quit. This will be ignored. People who quit are assumed dead.
9. No spam. Period.
10. No advertisements unless the RP is dead or you have clear permission from me.

Any extra important notes?: Jason has made several plans for any collapse of social order. He also has a 3-month supply of freeze-dried food in his cellar in the event of a disaster. He has given some thought to the possibility of zombies. He took boxing lessons after his 3-year stint in the army to help distract him from the nightmares he had had for a year or so after deployment. He still occasionally has flashbacks to the war, which may distract him at times.

Sure. I was thinking maybe they could both be on a Commercial jet a few rows away from each other when the pilot of the plane starts convulsing and coughing out blood. He'll fall to the floor, moaning, and he'll go still for a moment before attacking the Co-Pilot and a flight crew member in the cabin. at this point, we'll hear screaming from the cabin, and someone will place a bloody handprint on the window before falling down. One of us (maybe Sierra, but I don't care), should go up to the cabin door (which is unlocked because a flight attendant was about to wheel the snack tray out) and kick it in to see what's going on. The other one will be impressed by their calmness in a bad situation and will go to help them. After the now-''zombiefied" pilot attacks and almost bites one of us, people start to notice the plane is in a gradual nosedive for the Golden Gate Bridge. Sierra and Jason will then run for the parachutes and jump out safely, with some minor injuries.

This is just a suggestion.

Sierra notices the walking corpses and goes for head shots. Pop culture tells her what zombies are and that you aim for the head. Then she'll take the controls and do a crash landing and remark "And they said I would never land a plane."

Uh...

Commerical planes don't usually carry around parachutes...

Oh. Yeah. Well, then, the plane crashes but the two miraculously survive because of a seat cushioning the blow. Or, maybe, they fall through the windshield of a car, which activates its airbags (somehow...), which cushion the fall.

Excellent point. She should just do the crash landing thing while only engaging the pilot hand-to-hand.

I was reluctant about that part too, but some families buy guns and let their children call them their own and keep them, even though the parents technically own the guns. I've seen children as young as twelve claiming their parents did this for them.
