Appearance: Roughly 5'8, 125lbs

Species: Mutant (homo superior)

Backstory:

A young mutant, Val was born in Johannesburg, South Africa after the fall of Apartheid. From birth, Val was subject to severe sexual and physical abuse as her father and mother wanted nothing to do with a mutant, eventually selling her into child sex trafficking as they sought to gain money from their mutant offspring. She was subject to unspeakable tortures and barbarian acts not fit for any child, much less adult. These abuses, as well as parental abandonment, heavily affected her mental state, painting clear the symptoms of early childhood sexual abuse and continuing into early adolescence.

Her mutant powers developed around this time, and as much as she tried to keep it a secret, she was eventually discovered. She was beaten daily, thought of as nothing more than trash, a sexualized sideshow of child porn rings as mutants were in short supply. Her life seemed to be in an endless cycle of horrific atrocities, and each night, she waited to die so she didn't have to live through the next day. That changed though, when an angel burst through the doors of the place she and many others were held. A man of serious build, of even more serious power, was the angel, and he slayed the operators and clients alike without hesitation. She was in awe at this savior, and with his powers, she thought him to be a mutant like her.

This Mad Max, and that was three years ago. He had been investigating reports on human trafficking in South Africa and was busting apart various circles and rings as part of a program offered by the South African government, despite his foreigner and foreign head of state status. He left many of the girls in the care of government workers, but Val didn't want to be back in society - all she knew was this life, and all she wanted was to know this man. As he prepared to leave, she clung onto him, stopping him in his tracks. Quietly, she told him about her powers, and how scared she was of the government taking her away. Max, feigning indifference, pried her from himself and walked away, leaving the girl devastated.

That night, as she silently wept to herself like many nights before, a small nudge caused her to become fully alert. Towering above her was Maxwell Morningstar, his hand offered down to help her up. She was confused, but took it anyways, being helped to her feet and lead away from the makeshift bed. He carefully explained that had he done anything in broad daylight, things would go sour far too quickly. Under the cover of darkness, though, he helped her relocate to the Kingdom of Ur, where slowly, she has fallen in love with Mad Max and re-entered society there. They have a special bond with each other, Max becoming the one who would quiet her night terrors and stay up with her until late into the night. Now, they act as...something, but their relationship is left unresolved despite the clear signs of affection from both parties. Val owes her life to Maxwell, and to Maxwell, Val is his whole world.

Powers and Abilities:

• Gravity Manipulation: The sole power granted from her Mutation, Val can control and manipulate gravity to an absurd degree...in theory, of course. Her actual application seems to be limited by mental and physical trauma associated with her origins. Mad Max stated that she had the potential to be one of the most powerful mutants on Earth, but was crippled from an early age due to the abuses she has suffered. Maxwell determined that her control over gravity was so great that, despite being the weakest of the fundamental forces, she could influence subatomic particles and electromagnetism as well to a small degree. A short list of abilities can be found here.

Weaknesses:

• Her first and foremost weakness is dissociative identity disorder, brought on by her early life of pain and torture. She has trouble forming social connections, different personalities that arise at different times (Her default is the shy, reclusive personality called "Val", while another exists when she is under extreme stress called "Zero G", who can come up during a fight or flight response. Others may exist as well, but those are the two prevalent ones
• The fragility of her mind can be exploited by those with a strong will, is susceptible to telekinesis, and can give her seizures at some points.
• Beyond control of gravity, she is just a normal girl.

Destructive Capacity: City-Level | Theoretically indefinite.

Speed: 1,000 m/s | Can operate at slightly above FTL if fully realized.

Durability: Human Level - She is fragile normally, and with gravity powers, can reach up to Building levels currently.

Lifting Strength: Immeasurable - She can lift, in theory, anything with her powers.

Striking Strength: Immeasurable - Not in terms of crazy-powerful, but that her strike can vary wildly with how much gravity she puts behind a strike. Class MJ-GJ is her usual area, though.

Standard Equipment:

• Mad Max: Her caretaker and savior, where Val is, Mad Max is not far from her. They can fight in a duo at times, but for the most part, Max seems to do a lot of the heavy lifting for Val.

Intelligence: While it's implied that she is a smart girl, her mental state makes measuring her intelligence erradic, as it seems like between her "Val" personality and "Zero G" that Zero G is much more adept at combat and strategy while Val seems to be distant and aloof.

I'm not going to continue the argument here, but I said through my post that I would wait until the Great Ape Transformation took place, but since my characters are almost always too weak, I wouldn't be that effective.
