The Caer Aard is held in Caer Aard. :P Not sure if the city is named after the event or other way around.

"disinherit"? Assuming we've got male-preference primogeniture, and I can't think for the life of me why we wouldn't, isn't Teren to inherit by law?

Not part of my application, but I'll roll with it. Edited. It's the Caer Aard city prison being let loose.

I thought Cassyndra only took precedence because she was true-born, while Teren is a bastard? I think we do have male-preference succession, but if Teren is a bastard (which I thought he was in the first two RPs) she would come first. Until of course she's voted out of inheritance.

It says Teren was born to a noble mistress, but Cassyndra was born to some maid. I thought Cassyndra was the bastard (or, at least, the less of a bastard :P )

They're both bastards, otherwise there wouldn't be a debate. Cassyndra is just in her 20s, but retarded, and Teren is 5.

That makes more sense. I imagine one born to a mistress, and a noble one at that would be "less" of a bastard, but still out of wedlock I suppose.

I thought I read in this thread somewhere, that the empire has a true cognatic inheritance?

That's a rather strange way to go, but if that is how we're going, then we could also argue that Cassyndra is unfit to rule.

Sure, my vassals are quite worked out already but it's not to late into the game so we can still change stuff where you want to bring in own ideas.

Tribes and Regions:
- Greater Röken urban area: This is where the capitol is. Around it is an area of rather save and peaceful cottages and farms owned by wealthy families from the city.
- Nosland: Good farmland in the north, with a mayor city and many rich people
- Schwarzzinnen: The lowly populated northern mountains is tribal and mostly uninteresting
- Blutkoppen: The east-north-eastern mountains are less explored and more raw than Korundien, the tribesmen do however know a good deal about animals and make a good source of leather and furs for the Republic. Their regiment is known for their unbreakable moral.
- Korundien: The province governed from Corunden is defined by it's great mining output.
- West-Charbyben Federation: A series of tribes that are exceptionally peaceful. Yet as a federation, they have enough power and political influence to withstand any attempts to make them see, that their legal system is outdated and they should at least adapt a modern feudalism, if not outright plutocratic elections.
- Scyllans and Stymphalians: Tribes east and northeast of Röken. I have not really worked them out.
- Küstenlands: The civilized lands along the northern parts of the coast, governed from Haven. Comparable densely populated.
- Skeletens: Tribes-people southwest of Röken. Very good farmers, who slowly adopt modern structures of society due to immigration from the city.
- The Firnlands: At the far southwestern part of the republic lives a brutal tribes-people, yet quite sophisticated in the sciences. They do not need to pay per-head taxes but instead provide a greater then normal regiment for the republic.
- Bruchmountains: The tribes in the southern mountains have only basic infrastructure but their quarries produce marble not found in the eastern mountains, that is highly valued by better architects in Röken.
- The Valelands: The Vales are a federation of tribes with great autonomous rights towards their grand chief, in fact, they republican taxes go directly to Röken and it's only their powerful regiment, that creates some sense of unity. They are located in the southeast and go all the way from Röken to the border.

Image

I would say everything is possible to change except for the general level of wildness:
Near the spring of the major river and at the north part of the coast: civilized.
Mining area in the southeast: Half way civilized
Rest: Tribal.

If you want, you can take two areas approximately and merge them into one with an own name. If your dude currently owns a city (I would like to keep their positions but name are up to you) he will be a burgherr (I originally excluded the orc-dominated Firhall there but that's up to discussion), if he is a Tribal chief over an entire area he will be a greater chief and have chiefs as his vassals. Of course he can be both (note however, that the burgherr title is elective (the details are up to you) while the chieftain title is inheritable (the "greater" part may be elected by the chiefs among themselves or inheritated)). If he is a noble who owns land he is also a baron (which he probably is but that is minor compared to the former two titles.)

And finally: He can also be a citizen of Röken and own a house and Kontor there and thus be electable to the council.

Oh, of course he can also only be just that: Another merchant family member with trade connections and Kontors everywhere and lots of money and contracts and businesses and most of all ships (I think somewhere between 15 and 20 should be normal per "council" family (one of the top 20) but the better ones should be more around 25-30). The head of the family will own most of this unless he is really old and wants that his sons take over in his lifetime.

I imagined the inheritance in Röken male-only but if you want we can go to male-prefered. On the land, it's mostly tribal, thus unorganized with a tendency to the physically stronger gender (do Goblins have a physically stronger gender? Um, never mind)

Edit:
@Unrelated: I mentioned coinage before. Looking at the 3 mentions of money, I stand right. It does not work to try to get a common ground for prices. So whenever anyone mentiones any sum of money try to give an idea how much you think this is and we will just ignore that it's inconsistent.

NS Nation Name: Der Kaiser Mikey III
House Name: Malicium
House Banner: Image
House Rank: Dukes of Tevlorn, Guardians of the Eastern Scepter
Description of House: Originally several different and unique Drualie elven Lords, following the fall of the Elven Empire, these families, faced with various forms of extinction, bankruptcy, and deposition, came together to from the House of Malicium. Representing arguably the purest of Elven lineage and having maintained such position through the advantage of several noble bloodlines within the house itself, Malicium has risen over the centuries to control the city of Tevlorn, where the High Elves rule with unquestionable power, aided of course by their affiliation with the Rathis Empire. Rather than step down from the pedestal they so culturally viewed themselves upon, the Eastern Elves sided with Rathis against their more tolerant and diverse western kin. This has been regarded by many as a mistake and others as the sole reason Malicium has survived. Regardless, what is known by all is that the Drualie have forsaken their forests for cities of stone, their fairness for twisted darkness, and now the once famed aristocracy of the Elves is but a shadow of their former selves.
What is House's view on the Empire?: The time has come for the High Elves to take their rightful places, and if not rule at the very least hold more influence over the affairs of the empire.
Description of Head of House (name, age, and sex): Morgan Malicium, 170, M http://cdn2.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_image/image/36174574/Screen_Shot_2014-07-28_at_1.25.35_PM.0.0_cinema_640.0.png

Well... a bit more hostile than I'd have imagined any Imperial Heartland lord to be, but that'll just make things interesting. As far as I'm concerned, welcome, my vassal.

danke schön, and yes! LOL quite hostile, but then again what else would one expect from the Lord of the corrupted city of Tevlorn? :P

NS Nation Name: Gunrado

House Name: House of the Thoront

House Banner:
Image

Description of House:
Descended from kings and managing to maintain their land's culture for four hundred years within the empire, House Thoront is a powerful, wealthy vassal. The Thoronts previously ruled as Kings of Gunrado until their Pandyssian conquerors subjugated them, but many still have great respect for the mysterious, exotic people from the southern seas-their rulers also do well to maintain this reputation. The Thoront clan itself has an illustrious history that stretches far back before the Gunradoans even arrived in Pandyssium, legend telling of powerful princes and kings descended from the servants of the Divine in a vibrant continent to the south, until some cataclysmic event combined with a lack of resources drove the ancient people from their homeland.

What is House's view on the Empire?:
The Pandyssians conquered the Gunradoans in a bloody war four hundred years ago, but since then the Gunradoans have begrudgingly accepted their servitude in exchange for the continued flow of trade and the opportunity to rise within the empire and spread the Cult of the Divine Lovers, served by priests called Saecrenes and headed by the College of Most Enamored Saecrenes in the Lovers' Temple at Elan. The Gunradoans have done well; they serve as the informal bank of Pandyssium, lending money to the emperors and other nobility and maintaining good relations and great wealth as a result, though tensions still remain. After all, "ambitious climbers never want to stop at the second-highest branch."

Description of Head of House:
Lord Jaun (48 years old), a normally jovial man with an ironically high temper, has ruled his land with a steady hand for twenty years, yet all can see that his bouts of anger grow more frequent as well as his love of wine.

Description of Relevant House Members:
  • The willful, beautiful, snobbish, cunning, and worldly wife of Jaun, Elano (42) easily makes up for her husband's faults, a powerful mistress capable of extreme pragmatism.
  • Elano daily teaches her equally-alluring daughter Yillo (18) the art of court intrigue and diplomacy.
  • Gurren (20) and Jaun (17), sons of Lord Jaun, remain the best of friends as young men in their prime-Gurren is more intelligent, while Jaun more rambunctious, fitting of the family baby.

Court Position Request: none at the start, though I plan for Gurren and/or Jaun to petition for the position at court.

Seat of Power: Elan

Realm Number: 7

Realm Name: Gunrado

Realm Description:
The land of Gunrado is known as the land of gold and blood, and rightly so. As the legends go, centuries ago the ivory-skinned Gunradoans arrived from the sea in their massive fleet, claiming land in the name of the "Divine Lovers" Gun, god of blood, and Gune, goddess of gold. They claimed their old lands were stripped bare of sacred mineral and blood sacrifices, and sought to conquer a new prize.

They were quick to act in this new world. The Gunradoans rapidly established the great port city of Aruble, and expanded further inland through mountains and valleys until they reached Gun's Grin, a near-complete bowl-shaped mountain range with a deep fertile valley; at the opposite to the entrance of the valley, the Golden Lady's Gate, the Gunradoans built the powerful fortress of Elan, serving as the seat for their king as his vassals fortified new citadels in other mountain ranges throughout the kingdom, Aruble ruled by an appointed Lord Admiral. The mountain ranges were full of gold, as the Gunradoans suspected-Gun's Grin alone maintained six gold mines within the vicinity of Elan. Neighbors' fears of a rising threat were quelled as the Gunradoans began exporting their gold along with the agricultural produce of their valleys-coffee and sugar worked by serfs on large plantations. Domestic slaves for the homes of the nobility also became fashionable as the Gunradoans dabbled in the slave trade.

The landscape itself is strikingly beautiful, if not for the intense heat stemming from Gunrado's location near the equator. Towering mountains, luscious fields and valleys, thick jungles, and rolling hills all captivate visitors-that is, before the wildlife puts them in danger.

Capital City: Elan

Population: 700,000

Race Composition: 90% human, 3% elves, 7% orcs

Status of the races other than men: Usually enslaved, as both tutors to the elite or laborers for the most arduous tasks

Majority Religion: Cult of the Divine Lovers

Description of the people and culture:
Gunradoans are largely viewed as passionate, lively, exotic, mysterious, and seductive by foreigners, with a unique tongue and wild fashions. The people, both the nobility and small folk, are extremely devout toward their religion, the Cult of Divine Lovers, with its elaborate blood rituals, detailed legal codes, and ornate temples. Gunradoan architecture and art is quite beautiful, and while nobles live luxuriously, surfs are also given much more autonomy than in other lands. Family and the clan are everything to a Gunradoan, along with the eternal quest for fortune.

Description of Economy: Though Gunrado is smaller than other realms, it contains a plethora of resources that have enriched the lordship and his people. The port city of Aruble is the main center of commerce, where merchants from across Pandyssium flock to buy Gunradoan gold, sugar, coffee, pearls, and other luxuries.
  • Exports: gold, silver, coffee, sugar, pearls, exotic furs (panther, tiger, and others), marble and stone
  • Imports: lumber, grain, wine, jewels, fruits, vegetables, silk, salt

Major Cities:
Elan
Aruble
Major Citadels/Fortresses:

Strengths/Weaknesses:
+natural landscape and ingenious defensive fortifications have made Gunradoan citadels powerful strongholds

+elite "blood knights" raised from the nobility to be masters of the art of war
+generally a well-equipped force

NS Nation Name: Slakonian
House Name: Threnhold
House Banner:
House Rank: Duke
Description of House:
The Threnholds are an old house descended from Dawyyed ap Joramun(David son of Joramun) who took as his wife Arwen, the daughter of the last elven lord who died in battle against orcs and goblins. Fair-haired, tall, and handsome, the Threnholds are the blood of human adventurers from the north and native elves who carved out a mighty but yet again small kingdom in the western mountains, thick forests and hidden valleys. Threnholds are ruling for almost a millenia years as rulers of Sahrnia first as Teyrns and then as Dukes.

Sahrnia was always under threat from all fronts and that's right there is a general distrusting nature towards outsides. Threnholds always firmly protected their people with blood & steel as they have done for a millenia. The other side of the Yaruga River were the golden valley has it's place is consider by the Dukes as greater sahrnian territory to this day despite is being inhabited heavily with imperial human populations alongisde with imported goblins and orcs.

The Teyrns of Sahrnia resisted for almost a 200 years to the Rathmis subjucation after the rise of the first Emperor until Tyrus II Rathmis sent 3 legions and a large of goblins, orcs and wood elves to subjucate the local humans & silvan elven populous. Teyrn Rodwell "the Lionheart" as he was called by his vassals was defeated and perished himself alongside with his sons and grandsons. Fortunately his brother lived and surrendered to Emperor after swearing fealty to him, Maximillien was the first Duke of Sahrnia but the Emperor's first act was to strip him the lands beyond the Yaruga river and all their populations move to Sahrnia while he would colonize them with other humans, orcs & goblins which the Sahrnians consider them inferior.

Sahrnians unlike the rest of Vallorion are consider by most as racists individuals as they mistreat orcs & goblins within their region a lot worse(by flaying them for their own amusement or selling them illegally to slavery). The Sahrnians due to their share blood with the elves in Vallorion keep mixed relations but due to the Threnholds good memory(due to historical books of course) helps to arose feuds from time to time out of their stupidity of the Sahrnian Dukes themselves. For almost a hundred years after their subjucation to the Empire through military occupation. All that changed when Lord Salmar of house Tarembor petitioned Sahrnia become their vassals, and so they have been bannermen of House Tarembor for hundreds of years. Many think that when the pass the Yaruga River in the west they whink they are now on a human realm but they are mistaken, Threnholds are responsible for most of the humans in their region but they are still are part of Vallorion and proud for it... well sort of. Many look with sucpicion for the last decade the people of Sahrnia especially their overlords as they are known for their optimistic nature.

For hundred years they have been loyal(?) bannermen to Empire, despite living within Vallorion itself, they have developed a very different culture. Sahrnians have been resisting cultural assimilation heavily which eventually resulted to the creation of a heretical branch of the Faith which is called the Cult of Meinwen(which means blessed) which is heavily influnced by human pagan beliefs, the elven pantheon alongside with dwarf ancestor worship. They believe Andraste - their prophet, was a mortal elf-blooded human woman(which is based on the elf-blooded human population and heavy elven presence) & a powerfull mage who after her death via drowning for being a heretic ascended to the Heavens within the Golden city and met the gods of both the humans & the elves who could shapeshift into dragons. But there was no the Creatix as the scholars of the Faith say but in the golden throne there was the Maker who said to her that he created the old Gods to provide guideness to both elves & humanity much later but he was sad becasue they were devided in matters of faith and couldn't see that almost all gods were His creations, Meinwen returned to world alive once again to spread the message of the Maker, the one true architect of this world and beyond but she found oppossition and she was arrested and executed for a... second time by being burned in the pyre for heresy. After this event the Maker to him as his bride and she became the Creatix(which means the bride of the architect).

Their heretical views are being dismissed throught the realm and it is difficult for the Sahrnians and especially their Dukes to make friends around. When Hoster took up the regency he decided things must change as his father ill-rulership has put Sahrnia in a state of decay. The people were paying the price for his father's mistakes and so Robert the Valiant rose up in armed peasent rebellion agains the Duke. But the Duke-Regent joined forces with the rebels and he decided to take his revenge against his vassals first. First the Count of Umbara had to fall in line first and he did by using Robert's peasent rebels in expense on his own while ending his line. One by one the other counts in his domain fell and their lines ended as they were no true Sahrnians, instead their lands were devided among the local human and elves (in a lesser extent to the dwarves as well) but barring the existance of a count and instead deviding the lands between newly created baronies for easier control. The second phase for the rebels was to pass the Yaruga River and take a revenge for the unpaid debts.

The rebels started the systematic destruction of the entire greater Sahrnian region in which the Counts refused their debts still to the Duke-Regent despite his edicts and offical messages to the Emperor himself regarding the dire economic situation. Cities started to be sacked until the IX Legion "Silver Chains" was called to crush them but instead the rebels under Edmund Sakvil-Threnhold tricked the Imperial forces and routed them. only to return later in greater force almost a month later. Until they come the Sahrnians butchred without the knowledge of Sir Robert entire orcish and goblin villages with their torches and flayed prisoners of war while some were even sold to slavery to Augliac(without anyone knowledge but inly sucpect to this day). The Duke-Regent left on the other side of the Yaruga River back to Sahrnia by a call from his father while Sir Robert met the imperial reinformsents on his own and was executed for treason.

Despite the Counts protests of the greater Sahrnian region they were forced to pay the loans when the Duke-Regent himself pillaged their lands and empited their coffers. Why did that happen? Well, the Duke-Regent claimed that they were not his forces which pillaged the greater Sharnian region but they used his banner to gather more rebels. But anyone knew the truth, the Lion after 88 of feeble ill-rule has awaken once more and he wasn't toothless at all and his claws are ready to crush his enemies once more when it woudl be need if his liege or himself goes to war.

Time will only tell if the deeds of the old will overcome anyone who stays into the way of the Threnhold's family greatness.

What is House's view on the Empire?:Bitter resentment since the execution of Sir Robert the Valiant, a man loved by whole Sahrnia. From beggar to a noble they know his name as a synonym to Justice, Honor and for first of all loyalty to the people of the region. Circumstances will show if house Threnholds either breaks away from the Empire or join other rebel forces in the future but one thing is certain, they are no loyal to the Empire anymore.
Description of Head of House:In more recent times, during the lordship of Rogar "the old" Threnhold, the house fell on hard times. Rogar's weakness allowed him to be bullied by his vassals and the neighbour counts on southern Sahrnia. Eventually his son Hoster, 37 of age, brought the wayward bannermen to heel and restored the house to its former glory by becoming the acting duke of Sahrnia, also called the Duke-Regent. Soon thereafter, a unlanded knight called Robert launched a rebellion against the lord of the provice for his crushing taxes on his vassals, Hoster instead of crusing the rebels by his lords command... he rather joined them instead, out of neccessity and for his own gains.(the rest of the story above)
Description of Relevant House Members:

The dying Duke Rogar "the Old", 94 of age. Rogar has ruled the Duchy of Sahrnia for 88 years since his father died in his youth from pox. Rogar despite his name(which means anger in the old tongue) had a jovial manner and was known as the Limp Lion; at first the west laughed with him, but soon enough they laughed at him. Tytos was weak willed and indecisive when it came to matters of state, having no stomach for war or conflict, and he laughed at insults that would have sent his forebears shouting for their swords. Many saw this weakness and sought to take advantage for their own personal gain. Eager to please, Rogar lavished wealth, land and power to men who despised him, something he was to blind to see. Some borrowed from Highever and never bothered to repay the loans. When it was seen that Rogar was willing to extend such debts, or even forgive them, common merchants from Umbara and the rest of the land soon began to attend the court in droves to beg for loans. The power of House Threnhold waned and many other neighboring houses grew in strength. Many said that the Grey lion of Sahrnia was no longer a beast to fear and japed about toothless lions. This was about to change when his son, Hoster became the Duke-Regent due to his father's advanced age.

Hoster's wife Mellissa de Brevin - age 35 - Melissa hailes from the southorn planes where the horselords come from. Mellissa met the young man at them time Hoster at the age of 12 when he was a squire(Hoster's first tutor died from an accident and he was sent for several years to the horselords lands before taking the duchy's regency). Hoster fell in love with the her when he first met her and involved in a romantic relationship with him. After he was old enough he decided to take her as his wife back to Sahrnia. A daughter of a wealthy horse merchant who died she decided to move with him, selling her property and buyng more horses to preovide for her husbands armies as the southorn horses are meant for war unlike the horses of Sahrnia who are meant for agricalture. She never regretted her choice due she married a heretic of the Faith which was a blasphemy to her faith.

Eddard Thernhold - Age 15 -, his only legimate living son. Eddard was born just a month before the great rebellion. Eddard is a smart man rising to prominence of his rather than a shadow of his own father. He has a love for military training as he spends lot's of time in the battlements with men and women of his father's retinue who have a great deal of respect for him. Though he is still unmarried and has some bookish nature he hopes soon he can marry and start a family of his own. He has a great deal of respect and love for his sister, as he is the only person were she shows some emotions.

"Red" Jenny Dandzialf, his bastard daughter and 17 of age. Though mild-mannered, Jenny is cold, patient, calculating, and capable of great cruelty. She possesses a cold cunning, a skill for strategy, and a calculating nature. She is of average size with a soft and hairless attractive body. Jenny has a plain face and ordinary, with his only noticeable feature being her eerie eyes, which are as pale and strange as two white moons. She was conceived between her father the Duke-Regent and a elven commoner (who was also secretly an apostate mage) who died in childbirth. She is notoriously know by the higher-ups of the Sahrnian society for flaying her enemies, a torture method that was used by the silvan elves which was adopted by the humans later, despite flaying is outlawed in the Empire and being out practise by the family itself she is intriguing for it's use. Her father use her if he needs to persuade any wayward vassal through intimidation under "aggressive negotations". Her brother Eddard wanted to convice their father to legitimaze her for her service but she didn't wanted due as the house words say "Never Forget" which meant she would have never forgotten her stain of bastardy and instead she took herself a name of her own given by her fellow Dandzialf which means in the goblin language "Silent Killer". She is also a renowned mage, precicely practising fire magic which she enhence it her torture. Jenny has been sent to Caer Aard as a representative of House Threnhold.

Viscount Perin "the Just" Sakvil-Threnhold - age 59, Shield of city-port of Umbara - also called Nevrast commonly in the Empire, the only city and major port into the region. He is the head of cadet branch of House Threnhold which is called Sakvil-Threnholds and great uncle to Hoster. Sakvil-Threnholds have taken their name from the mountain town of Sakvil near the city of Umbara which their served as the barons for more than two centuries as reward for brushing a rebellion in the family's name. Over the years from Threnholds of Sakvil they were called Sakvil-Threnholds, their sigil is a red lion an blue field with a grey eagle recently adopted on their banner which is the symbol of the city of Umbara with their words "Blood & Honor". During Robert's Rebellion Baron Perin at the time had to chose between supporting his great nephew and fighting in the name of his overlord the Count of Umbara - it was Blood or Honor.... Perin chose wisely to support his nephew instead of his overlord. For his service he was awarded the city of Umbara but it was reduced to a viscounty and promotly supported trade over land control as a means of income. He took some of the population of Sakvil to repopulate Umbara while he given the title of the Baron of Sakvil to Hoster's brother-in-law Howland de Brevin but maintained a estate in Sakvil to keep ties with their old town.
Viscount Perin is a good caring man who is widely known for being a just ruler after overthrowing the previous corrupt count.

Edmund Sakvil-Threnhold - Age 30 - Edmund is the son of the Viscount Perin, in his youth he fought with his father and cousin during Rober's Rebellion. Edmund is the younger version of his father and just like his father he believes justice upon all.

Alistair Sakvil-Threnhold - Age 15- Alistair is a newly appointed knight who was squired under Baron Howland de Brevin. Unlike the rest of the family he never grew up in Sakvil but was squired to the baron and brother-in-law since the age of 12 after spening 5 years as a squire to elven merchant and knight Haren Kalasiral whom would later become his father-in-law after marrying his dauther who is 8 months into pregnacy. At the moment he resides in the family's old estate in Sakvil which he is charged with it's property and he done suprisingly good. Alistair is a sarcastic individual and prone to economics as he was forced to raise a property on his own after lavisly spending uncessary money in his youth. He believes this lesson was needed although he would have preffered being a a trader in Umbara rather than a horse-breeder in Sakvil but such is life. He was recently appointed as regent to the barony in the absence to the Baron.

Howland de Brevin, Baron of Sakvil and master at arms of Dreadfort. - Age 29 - Howland is the younger to the duke's sister and current ruler of Sakvil. Howland was young indeed during Robert's Rebellion and didn't participated but he has build a sizeable force of 500 cavalry men in Sakvil because a southorn he has a deep love for warhorses. Howland has taken the position of Master-At-Arms in the castle of Dreadfort in Highever at the time as the Duke's previous Master-at-arms was accidentally drowned into Yaruga River during a scout operation.

Court Position Request:
  • Sir Maekar "the Grey Griffon" Lollard is a member of the Blades serving for 14 years after Robert's Rebellion due to the peace treaty. At first he felt betrayal for his "punishment" pressed by the current patriach of house Threnhold, Duke Hoster who gave into the service of the Blades only to get rid his house another bastard. But the current Emperor at the time Pelargius II took an interest of the man and befriend him if you can call their relation a friendly one. Sir Maekar Lollard is a man known for his attration towards the other sex and he always had taken advantage of it which resulted not one or two but 14 bastards fathered by him without the knowledge from anyone, well except the women who had "relation" with. His a cunning and fiercly loyal to the Empire unlike the rest of his family, who resent him for all his actions that resulted to their "subjucation"

Drilling is espcecially unpopular among the populous due they have to leave their families for two weeks so that they can be re-trained so that they can be ready to serve their Duke in times of need. The men of the Duke himself are well-equiped and trained and ready to fight for him but his vassals levies are reluncant leaving Sahrnia whatsoever which means the Duke will have to ride with half his force outside Sahrnia while the rest will stay behind to guard Sahrnia as they refuse to leave. Garcias Tellegara, with astounding smoothness and professionalism, pickpocketed a short sword from a Vallorian soldier with one hand passed it onto Aguston's hand'' Keep it, I hope it ensures your safety for many days to come.''

Smiling a smile that even looked genuine at the confused Venor, Garcias then fell back to the Rahtises. No way was he going to let those unwashed criminals get ahold of them! That would be severely mess up his power base!

@Annihilators, Ellyn already gave Aguston II her spare sword. Also, Vallorion soldiers carry longswords. Lastly, I'm pretty sure it's impossible to pickpocket a sword, as the soldier's hand is assuredly on its hilt, and even if that is not the case, it is sheathed, and it being unsheathed would have made noise. Thanks!
