The 2016 RP: The World Divided

The year is 2016 and the world seems to only be getting worse. Ukraine continues to suffer from a civil war after Russia annexed the Crimean Peninsula, Asia continues to boil down over border tensions, with the Middle East on the verge of a new regional war as oil becomes scarce. The terror group ISIS continues to gain land in Syria and Iraq, both of which remain on the verge of collapse. It now up to you and your nation to try and not only, stop our world from entering into a new world war.

Below is the official map of this RP. It shows major powers (with or without players) and nations belonging to players. This map will be updated as often as possible.

Temporary Blue Swan HQ, Near the Eastern Indian Border
The small clearing in the Jungle was filled with Tents, APCs, and Technicals. Everywhere guerrillas were checking their weapons or eating. This camp will need to be abandoned soon the leader of the rebellion, a CIA agent named William Aniston, thought to himself. He was a tall man, 6'1", but still managed to blend in with the rebels. He had come to Tibet in 2010, when he was 18, to become a monk. Things quickly changed when he witnessed a Chinese patrol burn down a monistary and kill all of the inhabitants. In 2015 he organized the Blue Swan rebel group to fight the Chinese oppressors. It started with only a few hundred men, but quickly grew to 50,000 by 2016. It was then when the CIA contacted him. William began relying information to the US and in exchange they send him money and weapons. He opened his Satellite computer and emailed his CIA handler:

Parliament House, London
The day was done. A new government had been formed. The Social Democrats had won a Total victory. But now their leader, now Prime Minister Ed Miliband, was faced with several issues, among them Scottish Separatism, more trouble in North Ireland, Bickering over budgets, and, as always, a Decline in British power. Ed was determined to fix all of these issues. Especially that last one.

But first he had to solve a Foreign Affairs issue. Tibetan Refugees fleeing recent clashes between the Chinese Army and Tibetan Guerrillas begged the Government to tell China to stop it's Brutality. Where they saw freedom, Ed saw a chance to kill two birds with one stone. Expanded influence in Asia AND defeat of another Competitor for the spit of Superpower? He couldn't resist. With his support, the bill to officially condemn China for brutality in Tibet passed. But he didn't stop there. He decided to write a letter to the Guerrilla leader.

Today also marks the vote on wether we will be sending combat troops back into Iraq. This Operation raging eagle, will be one of the largest operations the the US Army has undertaken since Vietnam. Now back to Davis in the studio.

In other news, several reforms have been passed by the new Republican congress, passing a defense bill giving back over half of the funds cut form the defense budget since the beginning of President Obama's presidency. Also they have begun voting upon several bills aimed at reinvigorating the economy and opening up jobs to more people, along with a bill requiring checks on everyone who has been on welfare for over 5 years, this change hoping to take those who are abusing the governments money, and reduce welfare spending. Now to the weather.

Supply Landing Zone
4 captured Chinese Humvees raced towards the landing zone. In the lead one was William, decked out in a Chinese winter uniform and armed with his Grandfather's M16 from Vietnam he smuggled back with him. The Convoy stopped 100 meters from the Drop Zone and 14 Men armed with the best weapons set up positions while 6 men began loading the supplies. The Tank would be driven back by a Chinese crew that had defected to the Blue Swans. After only half an hour they were racing back to base.

It was quiet. 50 Chinese troops layed quiet in the trees watching them. Two snipers were placed in the trees and had their guns aimed and waiting for the signal. The commander raised his hand gave the signal. Four soldiers holding RPG's raced out screaming and fireing at the vehicles. The snipers took out a few targets as the other soldiers rushed the group of rebels firing at random. Some others stayed hidden waiting just in case.

Ambush Site
William was hit in the arm. All around him men were firing their guns. The remains of a Humvee was on the side of a road, it's white paint gone, replaced with the blackness of fire. Luckily only one rocket hit, and 5 men were killed in the explosion. The Tank fired back and took out a group of Chinese men around an RPG. Tracers lit up the battlefield as he radioed the base "Need mortar fire! Danger close, marking with orange smoke. Relief force requested!"

Blue Swan Base
The mortar section fired white phosphorus shells at the enemy positions as 4 APCs raced out of the base and to the ambush site. All in all, 40 men were coming to relieve the convoy.

Ambush Site
The APCs arrived and began suppresive fire as they unloaded their men. Each man was armed to the teeth with M60s and M16s. 2 Even carried RPGs. They returned fire and fought back the Chinese forces. In the end, 6 men from the original convoy and 10 men from the relief force were killed. 2 Crates full of 7.62 mm ammo and a box of M60s were also destroyed.

The plane would head to the Australian base in Afghanistan after the team preformed their jump. They would wear Ghillie suits designed for snowy weather, as they planned to land high in the mountains to try to minimalize detection by the PLA. Fifteen of them had MK 18 QCBR carbines, and six of them had a M417s armed with a 4x scope. The bag containing their weapons would land a short distance away from them, and they would use their pistols if PLA soldiers got to them before they reached their weapons.

"It was a simple patrol. We were supposed to make sure guerrilla activity in the area. After about 2 hours minutes my 12 man squad stopped to rest. Unbeknownst to us, a threat lurked in the darkness around us. It was quick, suddenly men sprouted from the earth like phantoms in the snow. Before anyone could react, they were quick at work. 7 of my men were dead in seconds, their throats slashed open by combat knives. I grabbed for my rifle, but couldn't find the trigger. It felt heavy in my hands. now 2 more men were down. I fumbled with the safety. 2 more down, I was alone. An attacker walked up to me as I was trying to switch to fire. "Boo" he whispered to me. I stumbled to the ground, my gun flying from my hands. Before I could get any words out, a zip tie was being tied around my hands. They let me survive. Those phantoms in the snow are the most terrifying things in the world" -Sgt. Huang Bai, PRC

This is just one of many stories showing how weak the Chinese military really is. Rise up brothers! And fight for FREEDOM!!!

Above Tibet
The 21 SASR soldiers loaded up into the plane, headed for Tibet. In a few hours, they where above Tibet. They pushed the bags out of the plane, and then all hooked up, and jumped out the plane, 30,000 feet above sea level. They would land on a mountain, before going and getting their gear.

Prime Minister Tony Abbott marched into his office, looking to his cabinet. "Did the men get out the plane?" One of the cabinet members replied. "Yes, we won't have any radio contact with them until the Tibetans are free from China, that way to make it seem they are rogue ex-SASR who decided to help the Blue Swans if they are captured."

Sinai Peninsula

Ever since the coup in 2011, and the purge of the Muslim Brotherhood, terrorism in the Sinai has increased drastically. So far, the war in the Sinai has been making little progress in eliminating all the terrorist groups in the area. More than 100 Egyptian soldiers have lost their lives in a war that is now entering its fourth year. Ever since
Abdel Fattah el-Sisi became president, the war in the Sinai have been turning into Egyptian favor as the militant groups have now become weaker. The 414th Airborne Brigade would lead another assault that would eliminate the remaining terrorist groups in the Sinai.

Libya

The Egyptian Government continued to work with the Libyan Government in order to displace the militant groups that are currently still in the nation. President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi stated that the airstrikes in Libya would increase in order to stop the militants from overthrowing the government in the nation. The military Supreme Command has stated that they are behind Sisi 100% and that if the militants take Libya then the threat to national security would e great.

Brasilia, The Federative Republic of Brasil

The anti-olympics protests grew larger, almost to the point that the entirety of Brasilia was unable to pass through. Dilma watched the crowd, silently. What's worse is that they will all silence themselves when the games actually get here. The amount of money this will produce will be unreal. The Americans are already starting to buy tickets to Brasil. Dilma thought, quietly. As Brasil rapidly spun towards the Olympic games, the sudden urge of Violence in Europe and China almost caused Brasil to offer a deal to America to purchase M1A1 tanks. I hope we do not have to use the olympic money to make our military mightier, it would be the ultimate smack to the face of the people. She thought, before opening the letter from Xi, the General Secretary of The People's Republic of China. If China were to destabilize, Dilma feared, then Brasil's economy would very much feel it. And with Russia facing major threats from the Western response to the annexation of Crimea, Brasil could face either a massive influx of oil purchases from the Western powers, or Brasil would be invaded. Hopefully, the first would happen, as it would help Brasil.

The belligerency of America did not go unnoticed, and all of South America trembled in fear. What Dilma feared most was to have to defend South America from American Imperialism. Or Russian Imperialism. Britian even. South America was once again the focus of attention, as Brasil jumped into the top 5 most powerful economies in the world, and the greatest fear is that America would try to stop Brasil's rise to an economic superpower. Brasil didn't want the military actions that came with being a superpower, however, they didn't want to be invaded to stop that rise. So they would try to make peace with the West, and China, and Russia. It was the only way of survival in the new world.

Dilma shook herself out of those thoughts, and calmly looked at the letter from China. Blue Swan? she thought, before calling in other people to help explain this. Five others didn't understand it, one even went as far as saying it was a mistranslation. But the sixth was informed. "Blue Swan is a Tibetan resistance group. They are very violent, almost comparable to Al-Queda. But it seems that Australian and British flights have been going there of late. We don't know if they are supporting the rebellion, or bombing it. None of our sources in China can agree to the reasons of these aircraft. If NATO is aiding the rebellion, we have a problem. If NATO is against the rebellion, then it's easy. We announce our support for the People's Republic of China. Otherwise, we cannot declare a side without angering the other side. The most wise decision would be to simply buy time, maybe even flat out tell China that we don't know enough about the situation to choose a side."

Dilma nodded. She took out a fancy pen, one given to her by German Chancellor Angela Merkel in 2015, in the G20 summit.

Events

America: At 8:11 am, the long-feared "Big One" finally nailed California. The San Andreas Fault, shifting for the first time in more than a century. The epicenter of the Earthquake was right within Palmdale, California, and caused two other faults to erupt right under the City of Los Angeles, one of them almost directly under Dodger Stadium. The massive quake, measured at an awesome 8.6 on the Richter Scale, was the most powerful earthquake in recorded American history, topping the 8.5 that hammered Anchorage, Alaska, in March 1964. The worst devastation was across the San Fernando Valley and parts of Downtown Los Angeles - exasperated when the 62-story Aon Center, severely damaged in the quake, collapsed at 10:36 am, killing over one hundred emergency workers inside and around it. Several other problems - from ruptured gas mains, collapsed highway overpasses, a major explosion at a fuel storage site in Baldwin Hills and a train wreck caused by the disaster in South Central - made the disaster worse along with the Diablo Canyon nuclear station which suffers a meltdown some call the next chernobyl.

Egypt: A terrorist attack strikes Cairo killing 50 and injuring 100 including president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi who's car was hit by the suicide truck along with another truck that struck a military convoy. after this extremists (Backed by ISIS and others) Launch a massive campaign against egypt with light and heavy weapons including artillery and a tank the full force is estimated to be over 1000....

UK: At the same time as the American earthquake a major storm hits the london area causing mass flooding and a power outage among other major damage by wind and such amounting to over 4-8 billion dollars and rising in damages. along with this several navy ships (Including HMS Queen Elizabeth) were severely damaged..... casualty's are high and this disasters has given separation movements in North Ireland and Scotland more power and more violence...

Brazil: Because of increasing militarism small crime gangs start to disappear from Major brazillian citys and large cartels become less active slightly.

Australia: Australia is ranked in the top 10 by multiple organizations for safest countries leading to mass tourism and immigration.

So they would try to make peace with the West, and China, and Russia. It was the only way of survival in the new world.

Dilma shook herself out of those thoughts, and calmly looked at the letter from China. Blue Swan? she thought, before calling in other people to help explain this. Five others didn't understand it, one even went as far as saying it was a mistranslation. But the sixth was informed. "Blue Swan is a Tibetan resistance group. They are very violent, almost comparable to Al-Queda. But it seems that Australian and British flights have been going there of late. We don't know if they are supporting the rebellion, or bombing it. None of our sources in China can agree to the reasons of these aircraft. If NATO is aiding the rebellion, we have a problem. The most wise decision would be to simply buy time, maybe even flat out tell China that we don't know enough about the situation to choose a side."

Ed Miliband was giving out orders to reconstruction crews. Casualties were high, but if they could absorb WW2, they could absorb this. The Flood was bad, but the nation he felt really sorry for was America. For Britain, only the London Area was ruined. America had a ruined area 3x bigger and higher casualty rates. Reconstruction in Britain would take a Few Months at most. However, he was concerned about the rising rebellion...

Belfast, North Ireland
Two Police Officers patrolled down a Street, talking grimly about the London storm. Both had relatives who were Injured, and one of them had a relative killed by it. However, soon that would be the least of their worries. As they rounded the corner, an insane armed Gunman wearing the Insignia of the IRA ran up to them with a Knife. Two of his Buddies followed. They put those three down with minor injuries, but it was the beginning of 'Troubles' in North Ireland all over again. Simultaneously to that, Revolts broke out in Rural areas, and Terror attacks were daily in Belfast. Military forces were deployed. People would die.

Edinburgh, Scotland
Meanwhile, Police Officers throughout Edinburgh were being attacked by Scottish men in Masks. They had thus far fended off the attacks with only a few injuries, but the masked attackers called themselves the SFA, or Scottish Freedom Army. They had great support in Western Scotland, and the Military only barely kept support up in Eastern Scotland. Navy ships were brought to the Scottish coast to bombard Rebel positions. With this and Belfast simultaneously happening, it truly was the beginning of Chaos in Britain.

Cairo

In the capital of Egypt, the damages from the terrorist attack was estimated to about 800 million. The President was severely wounded, along with 100 other people. He was taken to the best hospital in the city, and at the moment it is unclear whether, he will survive or not, and as a result, the government is almost non operational.

Riots have begun to spring up in the city, as well as other cites like, Alexandria, due to the attack. The military had to, once again, divert resources from fighting the Militants to trying to quell the riots in the cities. The local law enforcement was being overrun, by the large number of rioters, and the situation would get worst until the military was deployed.

Sinai

Because resources were being redeployed, the 414th Airborne Brigade, was order to return to Cairo to help put the riots down, leaving local law enforcement and security forces to defend the Sinai. The militants took advantage of the situation and mounted a large offensive, one that the security forces couldn't hold back. Large amounts of land on the Israel border was taken and the Security Forces were being pushed back further. The Egyptian Air Force was able to give limited air support as most of its resources were being used to stop the riots.

Libya

The airstrikes against the militants in Libya also began to decrease. While the military would continue to support the Libyan Government, there would be only limited support.

People screamed.

Bodies everywhere.

Blood rolled in the streets.

Soldiers in MOPP 4 Gear rushed up and down the streets, moving people out of the city and to the train,that was to evacuate them from the city. All this time,there was a constant flow of men, soldiers going out leading the injured and uninsured populace, and the scientists, running down the streets towards the reactor. These men rushed in, putting the lives of possibly millions above their own as they moved towards the reactor. Geiger counters already reported above average radiation, but they could take that. Running up the stairs, the men entered the control room, immediately rushing to the panels and twisting things and moving levers, as well as typing on keyboards. All knew there was no hope for the city, but with some work they could leave the rest of California habitable.

Two hours, it took to hours of unbelievably stressful work to stop the meltdown, which men at the saved the state, but not the city. Million shad bee moved to cities in the North and East. Now all they had to do was decide what to do with them.

The SASR finally landed, they saw the bags containing their weapons about 120 yards down the slope. Crunching through the snow, the soldiers checked their pistols to ensure they had them fully loaded incase Chinese soldiers got to them before they reached the bags.

Prime Minister Tony Abbott agreed to send relief to the United Kingdom, to aid their former owner. They didn't want the leader of the Commonwealth to collapse. He also planned to send men to help them quell the revolts in Ireland and Scotland.
