Erectus has Company (Some-Reboot, OOC Thread, Open)

It is the year 1,800,000 BCE, and a strange new creature is rising to power in Eastern Africa. Descended from a long line of ground-dwelling apes, it is called Homo Erectus. It uses primitive speech to communicate with other members of its species, it hunts and kills other animals using sharp tools and sticks, it is beginning to harness fire and so much more. Its large brain is always thinking of new uses for things and new ways to survive in the dangerous African savannah and without its brain it would be defenceless. With no horns, claws or teeth, only its quick thinking and the tools it can invent keep it alive, and this is driving them to become even more industrious and intelligent. In fact, it is the smartest creature alive.

Or so it thought.

Around the globe other species are evolving that match it in intelligence. Some are also apes, but others are bizarre humanoid forms of the strangest creatures imaginable. They too are fighting in a constant battle for survival, and like the Homo Erectus they need their brains to keep them alive.
Why not create your own sentient being and guide it to either a horrible extinction or complete global domination? It will not be easy, but everybody has a chance to succeed in this cruel, cruel world...

Starting Location: Scattered around Ireland and England with another group in Scandinavia. They are best off in cold and temperate climate, taking to living in forests.

Females are shorter than males. They have a pale complexion, with whitish markings on the chin, neck, and chest. Eye colour varies from silver, gold, and green. Hair colour is almost exclusively silver, sometimes blonde or a light brown. Their most notable features are their pointed ears, four-toed feet and six long-fingered hands. They have fingernails, but not toenails. Alumnai have a smooth skin that is cool to the touch, resembling that of a shark’s. They have tougher skin on their feet which does not cut or bruise easily, which means Alumnai favour walking barefoot. Alumnai have about 20% less bones than homo erectus mainly due to the ribcage and feet. Ribcages consist of four thick ribs which connect at the front, forming four rings, flattened at the front. They have four lungs, a highly advanced windpipe and a large heart, which beats twice per second. Their digestive systems and sexual organs are the same to human, with pregnancy taking five months. Alumnai blood is milky-transparent, which is why they have such a pale complexion. Alumnai have teeth resembling that of homo erectus but they have slightly longer canines, and do not have baby teeth, with black tongues. Alumnai also have enhanced hearing and sight but a weak sense of smell.

Appearance: The Abakall are pentaradial aquatic creatures, resembling a large starfish with elongated limbs attached to a long tail. An Abakall has five limbs, which are used for both movement and manipulation of objects. The Abakall are semitransparent, and their internal organs can be seen from the outside of their bodies. Abakall possess neither a tongue nor teeth, and their mouths are circular, with no jaw.

-The Abakall sense the world primarily through echolocation, augmented with eye-spots on their limbs that can detect light or darkness, but not details.

-Abakall spend most of their life in the saltwater Mediterranean, but reproduce in freshwater rivers. Thus, Abakall stay near the coastline so they can access said rivers easily.

-Being an aquatic species, the Abakall will never develop fire or metalsmithing on their own, and will have to trade with other species for refined metal tools and such.

Diet: The diet of the Dornalvi is varied, and changes extensively depending on what point of their life cycle the creatures are within. As new spawn they are exclusive carnivores, during the middle of their life cycle they are exclusive herbivores, and towards the end of their existence the Dornalvi develop omnivore tendencies.
Height: A Spren, the formative stage of Dornalvi life, can vary anywhere between a few centimeters and two meters in length, depending on its stage of growth. Singers, the central stage of Dornalvi life, stand about two meters if erect upon their tentacula in general terms, but continue growing throughout their lifetimes. Ancients, the rarest and final life form of the Dornalvi, are simply above a Singer in size. Some are a mere five meters long, but others grow large enough to be mistaken for islands, as the death of an Ancient is rare indeed.
Weight: Ranges from a few kilograms to tens of millions of kilograms.
Lifespan: Technically immortal, but most perish of natural causes, genetic imperfections, or other reasons within a decade or two.
Three Starting Tools: The Dornalvi are capable of constructing fishing nets of no small complexity, can build primitive smelteries, and possess a budding knowledge of agriculture.

Appearance: No pictures here sadly. Spren resemble nothing so much as fairly large squid, albeit with budding armor nodules that will later develop into a serious armored plating structure. Their arms are large, and possess sharp spikes upon their comparably muscular and controllable arms in comparison to actual squid. Singers are similar, but able to stand upright and breathe out of water due to a rigid exoskeleton which supports their softer internal structure. Additionally their large eyes do not grow with their bodies, and therefore Singers become less capable of seeing in the dark, but more prone to stereoscopic vision, their eyes shifting towards the front of their mantles. Ancients are like Singers, but their weight forces them to return to a seaborne existence, and their eyes once again swell in size.
