A Pirate's Life For Me (IC/Closed/Only reserved may apply)

It is the year 1714 and piracy is ripe in the Caribbean. Legendary pirates Edward Teach and Benjamin Hornigold roam the seas, looting and pillaging convoys belonging to the Dutch, Spanish, French, Portuguese and British. You are the captain of a less well known pirate ship and today is the day that you will write your story and become one of the most feared pirates in the Caribbean.

Captain Florin Jennings

Postby Sithian Korriban » Sat Nov 08, 2014 12:09 am

Florin stood at the wheel of The Vengeful Wolf and looked out over the sea, waiting for the man in the crows nest to shout that he could see their prey. They were hunting a small schooner carrying French treasures worth a small fortune. As the ship rocked the men began to sing. He soon joined in and happily sang with his crew. But it all stopped in an instant.
"Captain! Sails to port! It's the Alessia."
"Battle stations!" The big man roared and swung the wheel taking them portside. "Get on the guns! Quartermaster, give the orders when ready!"
The big galleon swung towards the schooner and began to catch the ship while it was still unaware.

Captain Isabella Fergara
The female captain of the Black Saints crew stood on the deck of the bow of her galleon ship,The Sinner's Saint. It was an impressive thing, black hulled and imposing with twelve ready cannons stacked in rows of six on either side and reinforced with iron in some parts. The ship was a huge investment but it was well worth it, it signified how far she had come. From a mere assistant relying on the legacy of her father, the legendary Black Caesar of the seas to becoming a feared and respected captain in her own right. They said piracy was a man's world, slowly but surely was going to change that. As the sea winds blew, lifting her heavy black braids underneath her tricorn hat, her golden brown eyes scanned the ocean looking for plunder and a challenge.

"Inform me, what is our course again Fernando?" "I'm told that this place is the pirate's dream as the big name French merchants like to dock their ships there." Bella asked, popping the cork effortlessly off of the bottle of rum she held. "We are headed south, to Alencon my captain." the big barrel chested navigator said in his thick French accent as he continued to steer.

"Excellent, the day is ours men." "We'll get one hell of a haul, and afterward go south to Jamaica to face some worthy pirates who think themselves better than us." 'Anyway, keep a lookout for any ships you see, the richer the better." "Ah Jamaica, I remember the place." "Remember when we were boarded by the Havisham crew, I took out their captain and four of his most powerful officers with only two bullets." Bella chugged her rum and eyed the coast like she owned the world.

Fernando laughed. "How can we forget Captain, that day earned you your nickname Two-Blast Bella." the man said, twirling an end of this thick black moustache.

"Captain!" a female voice called. It was her first mate, a former Spanish prostitute and spy by the name of Beatriz. She carried a small boy in her arms, he had thick brown hair that curled over his head and he was dressed in fine clothes befitting a noble, obviously from his mother's ill-gotten gains. Isabella always made sure that hers was taken care of, her men, her ship and her family. The child's skin was a lighter brown than the cocoa bean brown of his mother's but he had her sharp brown eyes. "Forgive me, I told the little bilge rat to stay below deck." Beatriz swore, smoking a cigarette with her free hand.

Bella turned around at the sight and after being furious at Beatriz for smoking around the child, the commanding captain countenance vanished replaced by brightened eyes and a warm and affecionate smile. "Mi precioso." Bella laughed proudly, rushing to take the child in her arms and kissed him, stroking his hair. "Come here my little bilge rat." "Mama!" the child squeaked. "Toby, how has auntie Beatriz been taking care of you?" Bella nearly cooed. She was ruthless with her enemies and commanding with her men, but when it came to Tobias she couldn't help but be a motherly fool. No matter how much wealth they plundered or power they gained, he was Bella's greatest treasure and she was proud of him despite his bastardy. Many questioned who the father was, Captain Fergara wouldn't say a thing except he was a great Portuguese buccaneer she had met a few years back.

"Captain, ship spotted!" "It's a Spanish privateer by the looks of it, loaded with gold!" one of her men called out. Bella smiled, still holding her son. "Very well." "Everybody in position, full sails ahead!" "Don't let it get away, that's an order!" Bella commanded, givng the child back to Beatriz after making her put out the smoke and with a final kiss to the boy's forehead Bella rushed to her station and was busy preparing for battle and running her ship like the captain she was.

Black Death,
Captain's Cabin

He was at his studies, looking at the maps for their next victims. They would mostly target Slave Ships, capturing the ship itself and then freeing the slaves, giving them the choice to join them or get captured again. He has a small Brig, the Black Death, named after themselves after years of being discriminated by the Spanish. He heard of a score near Guadalupe but maybe it's too out far for him. But who doesn't want to a big score? He's been at the seas for a long time and yet, he still has hesitation even though his crew has more bravery than him. He then goes to the Helmsman, seeing the crew working or relaxing was good for morale. He told the Helmsman to go to Guadalupe, to get that rumored ship.

Captain Revere
There stood Captain Revere sailing the high seas looking for ships to plunder. His mission was simple find the ships, take the money and supplies, and save enough he can create his own country. Oh, how he dreamt of his own country where men were entitled a honest pay and a warm meal, but until then he would have to sail these treacherous seas to get enough gold. "Captain, I see a schooner over there it appears to have some rum." One of the crew mates said. "Damn" he thought always rum never GOLD!!! Never mind he would take it down the little ship, if need be he would just sell the rum later on. "Aye, we go after it lads!!" He yelled. He would get his country one way or another.

Captain Florin Jennings

Postby Sithian Korriban » Sat Nov 08, 2014 5:04 am

As The Vengeful Wolf neared the Alessia Florin swung starboard and the quartermaster began to shout orders.
"Starboard cannons! Fire on my mark! Mark!" Anyone other words were drowned out by the sound of twenty-four cannons firing at once and the crashing as the shots hit the small schooner. "Boarders! Throw your hooks and pull her in! Be ready to jump over to her. Swivels! Take out as many armed men as you can before they get too close." The sounds of the small swivel cannons started quickly and screams from the Alessia soon followed, as men lost limb and life to the tiny cannons. The adrenal shouts of the boarders soon joined in and the clash of metal chorused their song. Within minutes the battle was over and the French merchants had surrendered.

Off Coast of New Spain, El Guerrero de Oro
This week had been a good one for Pablo so far, raiding a Dutch spice ship, taking the spices, and selling them in New Spain. He walked on the deck of his ship, making sure the men were doing as ordered. He ruled his ship with the same iron fist that most Spanish ships were ruled with, he looked over his crew, then went to his quarters and sat down, he looked at a map and started charting the course they had been taking. He walked out of his quarters and said to the helmsman in a thick Spanish accent "Set course for Guadalupe, we are hunting for some spice ships."

Sinclair Fury
Captain Malcom "The Defiant" MacGregor

A small squall threw its worst at the Brig in the early morning, the night crew was out still keeping the ship on course while the day crew still could sleep for another hour, their captain, Malcom was already awake, sitting in his warm cabin he unrolled one of his maps, a trade map of British influence, and mapped how far he was from St. Kitts, suddenly the door swung open and a drecnhced man came in, "Cap'n the Squalls comin to an end, and Mister Howe says he spotted a West Indiaman out in the squall too!"
Malcom rose from his chair and looked at the pirate that entered his cabin, taking a moment to recall his name he said "Mister Howardson, do you know it's nationality...or perhaps Mr. Howe does?", Malcoms Scottish dialect very apparent in his voice, Mr Howardson was confused to say the least, "Sir? Why does where it from be mattering? Its a prize all alone waiting to be taken"
Malcom mumbled, "You'll see..." and pushed him aside and exited the cabin onto the deck, the weather now was cloudy and sprays of rain, and the humidity was high, and the waves were choppy, however there was a calm wind that pushed them forward gratefully.

Malcom drew his spyglass and looked off to the vessel, "It's got to be a dutch ship, from the looks of it, it was sailing for a west indies port, so it's carrying slaves, spices, gold, or ivory," He called out, "Hoist the Union Jack, and make yourselves look presentable will you? We 're gonna fool those sorry merchants into letting us board!"

And the night crew and part of the day crew busied about making the ship look damaged at the hull, looking like a Royal Navy sailor, and hoisting a stolen Union Jack, the starboard guns were all loaded but stowed away, so that the dutch crew would not be suspicious, The plan would be to act as a British Patrol from St. Kitts that got caught in the squall, and in the night ran through a sand bar, and in need of some spare supplies, The Dutch would most likely allow some of their supplies for repair in exchange of an offered escort to St Eusatius or wherever the ship would be traveling, then while the captains are talking, one of the crewmen will lower the union jack and hoist the colors, Malcom's flag was a black flag with a white satire like a scottish flag but with a skull and cross swords in every black corner, Malcom would then threaten a full broadside and the indiamen's entire crew death as the starboard cabins were brought about. The Merchant captian at this point would most likely surrender his cargo, crew, and ship, or fight to the death...either way Malcom would win.

"Alright captain, we're closing in!" a blond man shouted from the crow's nest, his spyglass like a hawk watching the Spanish ship. "Upon my signal Ferguson, prepare to board!" "Check the men once we get close enough however, if they be too much for ye then fire the cannons at will." When in a battle, Bella preferred to take on the crew of a ship directly before using cannons as it gained them a new ship without damage being done to theirs. However the safety of her men and crewmates, especially her little boywho was safely below deck during these raids always came first. She's do nothing that would endanger the lives of the people on her ship unnecessarily, they were like a family to her. And Toby adored them, they were like his aunts and uncles. Maybe once she captured a few. let's say five to six ships, she'd bring her little one to his grandfather the Black Caesar. They had only met a couple of times, especially since Caesar was on the run from the police. And when she captured enought treasure they'd head to her base in Corsica, and go to France and Italy to celebrate.

"Status report!" Bella shouted. "Seventy madam, cap'n included." "There're some big huge ones but nothin' us can't handle." "The cutlass wield'n ones will be the hardest, also judgin by the way they're position seems they got human cargo below deck along with gold and treasure." "Women and children along with a few pirate lads I'm guessin'." Ferguson said as he chewed a bit of sugar cane.

A satisfied cat's like smile came from Bella's face and she climbed up onto the mast. "Get us closer and ram 'em, then get into position!" "Board 'em, weaposn ready." "If they surrender, take 'em alive and the ones that don't show 'em no quarter." "Don't get killed out there, stay together and protect each other." "The cap'n, he's all mine." "Beatriz, stay below deck with Tommy, Ferg and Viper and protect my Toby." "Guard him with your very lives, aye?!" "Aye!" the cree answered Bella as she grabbed onto the mast rope and rapelled off of it, but not before shooting one of the guards as they boarded the ship. Her crew followed, weapons ot and soon the privateer crew was engaged in a battle.

Vesa stood proudly on The Tempest, her own brig. She'd fought hard and struggled to get this ship, and to have it be hers alone. It was a fitting name for her ship as well. It was fast and destructive, just as the name would imply. Upon its mast flew the flag of Skanderbeg, a famous Albanian rebel leader against Turkish tyranny. Due to her speed and the centuries-old flag, some might even guess she was a ghost ship. Vesa liked that idea. It would strike fear into the hearts of her enemies, and make her job all the easier. Perhaps she should dress her men up as skeletons? That would certainly add to the effect, should she decide to go through with it. Being thought of a ghost ship would also add an air of invincibility to legends about it, as you cannot kill what is already dead. This was all a simple morale trick, of course. It was not necessary either, as they were not engaging anybody soon. They were, in fact, sailing into a port at that moment.

The flag was lowered as they saw the port approach. This way, she could not be recognized by it. It was quite a distinctive flag, the flag of Skanderbeg, for it did not match with other pirate flags. Many pirates used designs like skulls or weaponry on their flag, mainly colors like black and white and a little red. Her flag was mostly red, with a black double-headed eagle decorating it. By no means was it a simple design, like many other flags. It was under this flag she proudly sailed, and it was this flag she hid upon sailing into port.

As they sailed in, she shouted at her crew to begin unloading. They, of course, did. As was standard among pirates, the money load would be split evenly among the crew, with the captain getting a bit more than the others. She entrusted her crew to sell the cargo, for she felt stressed and needed to relax for a bit. Vesa walked into a pub. She had no intention to drink, but it was closer than anywhere else she could relax. Vesa took a seat, sat back, and enjoyed the music.

After a long struggle, the men of the rival crew still put up quite a fight but Bella and her crew were gaining ground. Bella fought alongside her men, skewering quite a few with her swords and putting bullets into the more aggressive ones. She then saw a man who by his coat looked to be the captain so she snuck up from behind and grabbed him, he tried to whirl around and attack her and they ended up grappling. Reaching around with her free arm, Bella finally put the man in a sleeper hold and knocked him unconscious. She whisteled loudly and everyone turned to her, the crew of the enemy ship saw their captain in her grasp. "ladies and gentlemen of this crew, I am now commandeering this ship as its new captain!" "You put up quite a fight, and because of that you can gain quarter by joining my crew." "I am generous with my loyal men, but I do not forgive betrayal." "Sail with me and you will be rewarded, if not you will be given no quarter and all of you'll be executed." Bella put her pistol to the captain's head. "I've captured your captain and if you don't do as I say, I'll pump three bullets into his brain." "First, free the captives in your hull." "Right now damn it!" Bella commanded.

"Slave bitch, we'll die before we're ruled by a woman!" "In fact, we could have some fun with you and your whores here right boys?" "We can all take her!" the arrogant first mate wearing a white coat shouted. Bella merely sighed. "I hoped it wouldn't come to this." She pulled the trigger of one of her flintlocks and fired, one bullet in the man's chest and one in his head making him fall over the ship and the seas stained dark with his blood. The other men fell silent. "Rule number one, enemies and rebels get shot." "Now about those captives?" Bella asked calmly as the other men slowly at first but then scrambled below deck to free the captives.

"Hier kommt die sonnnnne.." The crew of the Ragnarök sang as they sailed. It was a song they sang, believing that along with the sun at their backs death would swiftly follow for any they came across. Which for the most part would be true since the sun would more or less keep them from being seen unless the target had some kind of shaded optical device. "Port ahead Cap'n!" The sailor in the crows nest yelled, and almost like a switch was flipped, all the sailors ceased their singing. "Full speed to port." Freki said, her face monotone as per usual but her long hair and feathered hat blowing gently in the breeze.

Their iconic black flag with a red paw print and crossed swords flew greatly off of the back of the ship as they entered the port. "Alright gentlemen, go spend your loot and make sure to drink your fill. That's an order." She said firmly as her crew yelled in celebration. They tied off the Ragnarök and spread out in to the port, spending their money to their hearts desire. She made sure that they did, mostly because she didn't know if they would live to see tomorrow, or maybe the next day. She decided to spend hers more conservatively, and just headed to the closest pub she could find. She took a seat at the main bar, and ordered an ale.

It was several hours before the brig sailed up beside the large frigate, the Dutch crew viewed the pirate crew pretending to be a British crew suspiciosuly, then Malcom stepped up and said from his limited vocabulary of Dutch and scottish accent "Hallo, Wij bedoelen geen kwaad, doet iedereen aan boord Engels spreken?" Which meant He was asking if anyone on-board their vessel could speak English, and they meant no harm, When it turned out there was a man who could speak english, a gangplank was laid across the gap between the two ships and Malcom and his First Mate, Alexander Gow greeted the Dutch captain and his translator in the middle, after explaining Malcom's fake situation and offering escort, the Captain looked back to his crew and said "We kunnen immers naar de wal te krijgen" Which the translator explained as the dutch crew cheered meant they would be very gracious of an escort to port, and just as the captains were about to shake hands, Malcom spun the Dutchman around and put him in a headlock, and put a pistol to his head while Alexander tied the translator's arms together, with a sword blade against his throat Malcom told him to tell the crew and captain "Surrender yourself, your ship and your cargo, or face a full broadside and die...." And just as he said that the starboard guns were unstowed and brought out, already loaded and ready to fire and grappling hooks fell down unto the railings of the Indiaman, Men began swinging over, there was no Union Jack waving over the ship now, just the MacGregor Colors.

Vesa would be sitting right next to Freki. Vesa sat, eyes closed, enjoying the music. That is when she heard a woman right next to her speak, asking for an ale. Vesa opened her eyes and looked to the girl beside her. She definitely had the look of someone from North Europe. The eyes, however, were off. Two colors, neither eye sharing with the other. Blue and green. This odd combination was enough for Vesa to stare for quite some time, unable to look away at the oddity before her. She'd heard of such a condition, it was not impossible, but to see it in-person was a different story.

She sat there, captivated by the eyes. The music seemed to drain for her mind, as did the rest of the bar. Her mind came to a blank, not really thinking much anymore. Suddenly, she jolted awake. She had no idea how long she'd been sitting there, staring, but the girl who she admired had not appeared to notice her yet. Vesa rubbed her eyes and went back to listening to the music, trying to forget the odd circumstance that had occurred but a few seconds ago.

This place smelled of rum and ale. They were wretched substances. She was not allowed to drink them, and she had no desire to. She'd only heard they were bitter and intoxicating, so there was no real purpose. She didn't like the smell so much. Unwashed men, lots of ale, and the drunken breath flying around. Even still, Vesa had to admit that this place had a certain charm to it. The lively people, the fine music, and the cozy fire all made this place feel so welcoming and comfortable, despite the hard wooden seat she sat upon. It was then that she wondered if this place was an inn, rather than a pub. She'd have to check later.

After the captives were freed, Bella stationed five men on this new ship that they had captured but not before they went down to the treasure room and transferred the rich stocks of gold, siver, jewels, fabrics, perfumes and spices to the Saint. "Ferguson, you will steer this new ship and you other four you will keep the peace until our new crew becomes more willing." "Now, let's divide up our loot and go find some ale to celebrate!" Bela cheered and all her men cheered with her as they boarded their ship again, raising their flag and setting sail. The flag of the Black Saints was a black African tribal mask placed over a large golden cross on a background of deep blood red. "Full steam ahead, let's go to a port and sell some of these spices and things." Bella said, she and her crew evenly divided their loot but as captain her share was always a bit bigger. "Cap'n, let's dock at that island over there!" "She looks quite busy she does, I see the lights from here!" Beatriz said, pointing to an island in the distance that seemed ablaze with the lights of the town.

'Excellent, let's go and enjoy the fruits of our labor." Bella spat in a spitoon as she adjusted her white plumed hat and the long green captain's coat she wore. Both the ships finally arrived at port and after lowering the flag so it couldn't be seen the new crew members she gathered had seemed to concede at least for the time being. Their new ship was a strong and steady Spanish merchant brig. Both ships were anchored in a secret part of the docks and after paying the harbor master to guard them Bella cut the ropes loose of the crew they had captured and also the captives from the enemy ship. "Alright all of you, if you wish to leave then now's your chance." "Go, do whatever you like." "But if you choose to stay, you will be a part of this crew." 'Breathe a word about what happened and we will find you." Most took off immediately onto the lands but surprisongly quite a few men and women stayed behind. Two of them had a single child each. "Brilliant." "Take a little of the leftover loot and buy what you will, we'll set sail again tommorow and meet here in a few hours." Her crew saluted her and headed out whatever which way. Some of her men headed to the closest brothels they could find while Beatriz and Cleopatra stayed with Bella. Cleo brought out Bella's son and the captain picked the boy up when he ran to her.

Bella grinned and handed the boy three gold coins and two silver. "For you, hijo mio." she cooed to him. "Thank you Mama." Tobias kissed her cheek and Bella hoisted the child onto her shoulders proudly as they walked through the streets. "Madre, can I have a spinning top?" "Or a little ship to sail like you?" "Or a pirate hat, please Mom?" he asked in his little two year old voice. He was learning Spanish already. The dark skinned captain laughed as she walked with the two members of her crew. "You can have whatever you want, cariño(sweetheart). "Sweets too?" the child asked eagerly. "All the candy and cakes you can carry." Bella smiled back as they headed to the shopping district of town.

James Marrison
Captain James Marrison was sailing the King's Justice across the Caribbean Sea. His crew scurried around the deck while the captain stood at the helm of the ship, watching over his ship dutifully. Suddenly two small gun ships came into view. "British gunships in view captain!" James' first mate shouted. A small smile ran across the Captain's lips as he took a large drink from a bottle of rum. "To battle boys, we've got Brits to kill!" He shouted. His men scattered to battle stations as they prepared to fight. Marrison loved this life. He didn't want family, honor, or a fancy title. He wanted adventure.

Captain Florin Jennings

Postby Sithian Korriban » Sat Nov 08, 2014 3:06 pm

Florin stood centre deck as his crew scoured the schooner, looking for loot. His Second Mate presented the artefacts to him after a short while. Florin marvelled at the three, solid gold, tiny Mayan statuettes. He took the three of them and locked them in the loot chest in his private quarters, before calling the order to get back on board The Vengeful Wolf. He walked over to the wheel and watched as his men boarded, and waited for his quartermaster to stand by his side.
"Sir, are we going to take her as a prize? She hasn't suffered any critical or major damage."
"No, too small for my liking. Give the order."
The Vengeful Wolf slowly pulled away and once they were a good twenty meters away the quartermaster shouted, "Starboard! Fire!"
They watched as the schooner started to explode from lit powder and then began to sink. He looked over the crew, who were doing there jobs and captured their attention.
"Ehem, good job gentlemen. We have recovered a small fortune from those French Bastards and it is time to head for Havana. Tonight we drink!"

Captain Revere sailed close to the schooner before shouting "FIRE!!!" At the top of his lungs. The little ship stood no chance against the Brig. "Men, pull her in so we can board!" He yelled, determined to get his prize. As they pulled in the schooner, some of his men swung and jumped across to the other ship. Revere put on his mask before boarding, as he went on he saw the captain of the ship. "Aye lad, this be dangerous waters you sail on. Best surrender before you get hurt." He said, confident he can take the captain without even breaking a sweat. "Never, you damn pirate!" The captain said before charging Revere. "Oh wonderful we have fighter." Revere thought before engaging the captain.

"It's nice to kick our boots off for once." "So, we all found the place we'll be staying at?" Bella asked her crewmates. "Yes captain, it's a hostel that doubles as a tavern." Cleopatra responded. She was a beautiful female teacher and former nun from Nigeria, who ran away to join Bella's crew as a pirate. Because of her knowledge, she was tutor to the young Tobias. "Any idea where we are, I've seen this place before because it's near my place in Jamaica but could never remember its name." Bella wondered, taking off her cap to let her long dark braids blow in the wind as her son still sat on her shoulders. "I saw some signs while I was gathering info, I believe this is Havana." "In Cuba, or as they call it the rum capital of the world." Beatriz said in her halting Spanish accent. "Look Mama, there it is!" Toby shouted, pointing a small chubby finger to a shop that sold children's toys. "Very well, let's go get you that top." Bella smiled, setting the child down on his feet so she could kiss his cheek. "And when we get to the hotel, you'll have your lessons for the day." "Do I have to?" the boy pouted a little.

Bella's smiling face became stern. "Of course you do, lessons are just as important as fun Toby." 'You'll be captain of my crew when I'm too old to do it, you need to be educated." "Tell me, would a grandson of the Black Caesar and son of mine ever whine or complain?" Bella asked her son. Toby shook his little head. "No ma'am." he said, with that fiery determination that only a life at sea could give a child. Bella laughed and looked at him with pride. "Very well, Captain Fergara." "We'll get you some books as well, your writing's been neglected." "Want to play captain?" she asked her child. "Yeah!" he grinned and cheered. "Okay then captain, what're your orders?" Bella asked with a smile, setting her captain's hat on her son's head. "I say to the toys, full steam ahead!" "And if Nanny Beatriz makes me eat veggies she'll walk the plank!" the boy called exhuberantly, holding his mother's hand and pointing with the other. "Aye aye, captain!" Bella laughed, playing along as she walked to the toy store holding the child's hand while he nearly dragged her along. While the captain was gone, Beatriz and Cleo went into some nearby shops to spend some of their loot.

It was a sunny, windy day at the high seas. The crew were happy and so was the captain, the ship is in great shape and the supplies were high. It's been a few days and already the ship's in Guadalupe, hoping to hit a score. The Captain was enjoying the scenery when a ship was spotted, a brig flying English colors. "Captain! English ship has been spotted near us! Course of action sir?" Said the spotter. "Slowly get in, let's see her destination before attacking" said Vargas with a curious tone. "Aye aye my captain" said the helmsman, slowly chasing the ship unaware to see where's it going.

The Ik Ka Ek Akai wrote:
Ulvenes wrote:"Hier kommt die sonnnnne.." The crew of the Ragnarök sang as they sailed.

A burly Irish man, blatantly drunk, busted through the door to the tavern. His gait and appearance gave away nothing, save for the drunkenness, but Aiden just wasn't trying to be the same figure he was on ship. He sauntered to the bar, sitting enough of the ways down to not bother the feminine pair down the bar. Also, they may not have noticed another drunkard in the raucous, high-spirited bar. But it wouldn't matter if they did.

"Oi! Barkeep!" Aiden shouted with his Irish accented voice. "Can I get a pint of whiskey?" The obliging barkeep handed him the glass, and Aiden passed back a handful of gold. "Keep the change."

Michael Turner

Turner stood next to his helmsman as his ship, The Revenge, smoothly traveled through the calm waters. He looked at the men under his command. Most of them had only been on his ship for about two months, while others have served with Michael for more than two years. Ever since he and his crew had captured the Spanish Man O' War, they had become a force to be reckoned with. It was harder for them to catch up to smaller ships, but their guns and hull were powerful enough to give them an edge over much smaller ships.

Michael walked around the deck of the ship and began to inspect the ship's cannons. The crew usually kept them in good shape, but would sometimes the men would slack off, but they were still a good crew and are rewarded greatly after every victory they gain. As he continued to look at the cannons a British Frigate began to approach the ship.

"Captain! British Frigate approaching off of the bow! She looks ready to fight!"

Michael looked off the bow and saw the incoming frigate. He and his crew were still wanted by the British for raiding multiple merchant ships off the British Coast so it wasn't surprising that a frigate was sent after them. However, Michael knew that his crew would win over the frigate with the ships firepower.

"Beat to quarters men! I want to take this ship out!"

The crew jumped to their stations as men manned the cannons. Michael went next to the helmsman and began to bark orders to his crew. As the two ships approached each other, The Revenge, fired its bow chasers at the frigate, scoring a few hits on the bow. Two volleys were fired before both ships were in range of each others broadside cannons and turned to face one another. Due to the British having a smaller ship, they were able to open a full broadside on the Revenge's port side. The cannonballs tore through the hull and killed some of the crew on the lower decks. In return, once the Revenge had its port side fully lined up with the British's starboard, all 70 cannons fired on the British ship, ripping its hull. It continued like this for another 30 minutes before a cannonball hit the main mast and the sails of the Frigate came down. As the ship became immobile, the crew began to throw grappling hooks at the frigate to pull it in. While this was occurring, some of the crew began to use muskets on the British in order to eliminate as many as they can before boarding.

Once the ship was close enough, Michael and about 60 pirates began to board. Michael took out his two swords and began to fight any British soldier in his way. As the battle raged on, it became clear that the crew wouldn't give up, even with the pirates outnumbering them. At first glance Michael charged towards the man who he believed to be the captain. The British captain had two other soldiers with him, both of which who charge at Michael and were killed. "Captain. I'm giving you one chance to surrender. You will not have this luxury again. End the bloodshed and your crew will be able to keep what dignity it has left.

The captain stared at Michael with tired eyes and fury. "I will never surrender! Especially not to a filthy pirate such as yourself! I would rather die than surrender to you!"

"So be it." Michael charged at the captain and a duel occurred. While the captain was much more experienced at fighting, Michael had better skills when it came to fighting with two swords. The captain stood no chance and after what seemed like hours of fighting ended after the captain was killed. The remaining British crew surrendered and Michael's men began to loot the ship for its gold, ammo, and food. One of his men came to ask what would be done about the remaining crew. "Execute them and destroy the ship."

His men followed his orders and by the end of it, the crew was dead and the ship gone. However, Michael and his men took losses themselves and the ship's port needed some serious repairs. "Helmsman. Set course for Havana." Michael soon went into his cabin for some much needed rest.
Uh, they're called green hearts.

You racist.

Turns out the battle was exactly how Revere thought. Easy. The ship had 200 bottles of rum and some spices, he would sell them in Havana. "Alright lads take the supplies and get ready to sell I want to be in Havana in four hours." He said. Oh, he loved Havana with its sunny weather, great food, and lack of crown, "take note men, Havana is for real men. Men who choose their destinies, where you bow before no one, and most importantly the weather is GREAT TOO!!!" He bellowed, happy at his own joke, but he was serious Havana system was something he planed on implementing to his own country when the time came. As The Roaring Leon set sail for Havana, Revere could only think one thing. What the hell would he do with all this rum.

"Down Sail! Oars out!" Sarah shouted as she steered the ship towards port. She removed her classic pirate tricorn and stowed it under the captain's bench.
"Down flag! Up Cargo!" The pirate flag slid down the mast, replaced by a generic cargo ship's flag. Sure, this was pretty much a pirate haven, but she wasn't taking any chances. She shook out her maroon hair, and called for her first mate.
"Johnson, tell the crew to go where they like, but to be back here by dawn. I know what they do with their time," She said with a wink.
"Of course Cap'n." Johnson returned the wink. Johnson was a grizzly old man, but an excellent fighter and the best first mate Sarah could ask for.
"Prepare for left tack!" The Arrow neatly tacked across the wind, sliding into the port.
"In oars! Tie off!" Two men jumped of the Arrow and tied bow and stern to the pier.
"Johnson, I'm going to the bar to see if we can find ourselves a fleet. Relay my orders to the men, and relax yourself."
"Of course, thank you cap'n!"
Sarah hopped of the schooner and was met by the dockmaster.
"Where's your skipper?" The man asked.
"You're lookin' at her," She replied archly.
"Oh... Well, how many nights will you be staying in harbor?" The man replied.
"Just one. I assume that's 7 gold?" She passed him 14 gold. "For your kindness."
The dockmaster nodded, knowing that their presence in the port would remain secret. Half of the gold slid into a briefcase, and the other half slid into the man's cloak. He swept off, leaving Sarah to her business. She headed into the bar, stalking through the door, attracting quite a bit of attention. She felt the eyes on her and smiled. This was how recruiting worked.

Captain Florin Jennings

Postby Sithian Korriban » Sat Nov 08, 2014 6:12 pm

After a few short hours of sailing Havana finally came in sight. The crew quickly lowered the black flag. The ship sailed in, getting odd looks because of the black sails. The ship docked and the crew spilled out, and Florin followed heading towards a nearby tavern. As he walked he could hear sailors and pirates singing. He walked into the tavern and ordered a large shipment of rum to be taken to The Vengeful Wolf. He then chucked the bartender an large bag of gold coins.
"Give me a pint, and you can keep the change." The bartender passed him a pint and then he took a huge gulp.
