The World at the End of the Universe
Well, now. That was certainly a turn of events.
When we last left off, our young heroes' lives were flipped upside down. In more than one occasion, literally. What could have caused this? What possible reason could the world have given our so suddenly? And how did our heroes manage to escape?
...through a poorly-designed video game, no less. Surely the work of my Lord, who moves in mysterious ways. Perhaps Slime Blast Busters was more than met the eye....I shudder at the thought of it becoming prevalent, however.
Let us take you back to our main players, now. They have arrived through their portals on a mysterious Yellow landscape, the sky pale and the ground textured.
Let us turn the page, and begin once more.
On Earth, full panic had ensued. Massive chasms, hundreds of miles apart, had torn each country into halves, sometimes quarters. Lava bubbled and spewed from the depths below, earthquakes toppled cities, and tornadoes finished the job. The human population, desperate to flee, look for bunkers and isolated locations. But nowhere was safe.
Outside earth, the Moon slowly split in half, peeling down as if it were the rinds of an orange. The sun slowly rumbled and shrank, turning a sickly black. Millions of miles away, the gas giants faded. The core of the Milky way shrunk to the size of a penny, and suddenly expanded. In a matter of 13 minutes, the universe was gone, wiped off of the face of existence.
But we aren't in the universe.
A gentle breeze flitted through the heavy air of the Yellow Planet, but only for a moment. It gave Aiden Carthy, who just 5 minutes prior had seen his house be destroyed, a sensation of the landscape. The air, coming from.....some direction (no sun in the sky....why were they warm?) was stale, but had a hint of sourness, almost acidity. Near them was a small rocky cave, a ravine about 100 yards in the opposite direction, and a mountain rising up to its left. A sudden warping sound wrought the kids' attention, and the portals behind them closed with a swish.
"Holy shit....holy shit." Aiden mumbled, wringing his hands together in nervous energy. "Guys, I....I know Earth when I see it, and we are not on Earth." He reached out his hand, and helped Lola to the ground. He looked around in shock once more. Every guy. Every girl. All his friends...together.
