Ruri I'm sure that the Zionist leader can go to a Russian, as I'm sure there are several prominent Russian Jews.

Yes, but it's not the same, and I don't want to make a Trotsky expy, but I also don't want to have character with a different personality because that fucks up Zionist history, communist history, and to an extent Rumite history(the kibbutzim program, intended to be a plan where Jews went to Israel to live in peace under Rum, was hijacked by extremists who wanted to wage war against Rum and led to the Netanyahist Revoly).
And you could just give Animal farm to a von licht.

Again, not the same. None of the von Lichts is communist; Trotsky is, which makes his criticism of the USSR as not truly communist all the more biting.

"The von Lichts almost always adopt local names when they show up in a new country. Fon Likht, Light, Fengliguoda, de Lict, af Lys, Martali..."

That's still weird, the Eichemann family only changed names once, when Ferdinand fled Rum for an internal exile, and they kept the name all the way into the 21st century. :P

Yes, well, the Eichemanns only really lived in Rum and Ethiopia.

In addition, at least two of those changes are based on transliteration(Fon Likht, Fengliguoda), one was adopted after disinheritance(Af Lys), and one was done at gunpoint(Martali).

Tokyo Today
October 26, 2014 / 84日、年6 皇后典子 (Day 84, Year 6 of the Reign of Empress Noriko)

AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL: CONFEDERATE POLICE HAVE COMMITTED HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS

Ferguson, MO -- Police in Ferguson, Missouri, committed human rights abuses as they sought to quell mostly peaceful protests that erupted after an officer killed an unarmed black teenager, an international human rights organization said in a report released on Friday. The Amnesty International report said law enforcement officers should be investigated by C.S. authorities for the abuses, which occurred during weeks of racially charged protests that erupted after white Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson shot and killed Michael Brown, 18, on Aug. 9.

The use by law enforcement of rubber bullets, tear gas and heavy military equipment and restrictions placed on peaceful protesters all violated international standards, the group said.

Amnesty said it sent a delegation to Ferguson from Aug. 14-22 to monitor the situation.

When asked about the allegations, Brian Schellman, a spokesman for the St. Louis County Police Department, which helped oversee law enforcement operations in Ferguson, said police “had one mission, and that was the preservation of life.”

The report also criticizes a Missouri law that the group said may be unconstitutional because it allows police to use deadly force against someone even if there is no imminent threat of harm.

The report calls on state lawmakers to make Missouri law comply with international standards making lethal force by police a last resort, said Rachel Ward, director of research at Amnesty International.

"Lethal force is only to be used to protect life when there is an immediate threat," Ward said. "The Missouri statute goes far beyond that. It is of grave concern."

Amnesty cited a Missouri statute that says a police officer may use deadly force “in effecting an arrest or in preventing an escape from custody” when that officer “reasonably believes that such use of deadly force is immediately necessary to effect the arrest and also reasonably believes that the person to be arrested … has committed or attempted to commit a felony.”

A grand jury in St. Louis County is weighing whether or not Wilson should be charged in Brown’s death. Wilson has not spoken publicly about the incident.

The Justice Department is investigating Brown’s killing and the Ferguson Police Department.

Witnesses and law enforcement officials have said Brown and Wilson got into an altercation after Wilson told Brown to stop walking down the middle of a street. Wilson shot Brown six times. Some witnesses have said Brown had his hands up in surrender when the last shots were fired.

"Michael Brown was unarmed and thus unlikely to have presented a serious threat to the life of the police officer," the report said.

The government of Kim Jong-un has condemned the St. Louis Police Department's violations of human rights and "rights in the Constitution of the Confederate States guaranteeing the freedom of protest if the people are unsatisfied..." and President Obama's slow response to the problem. Commentary from most Japanese historians seems to point that Ferguson is merely a "continuation of the pre-existing race tensions between the Confederate government and the African-American peoples of the country, the race relations are still poor even now, almost fifty years after the repeal of Jim Crow in most of the Confederacy, which followed the practice..."

This is Tokyo Today, reporting.

Well, first, Kim Jong-Un complaining about a rights situation is ironic, even though this is ATL and so forth.

Secondly, most of the states? Jim Crow started dying in the 1940s, and was dead by the end of 1964.

NORD-NEUGUINEER WELLE NEWS-in-BRIEF October 2, 2014
Deutsch - Tok Pisin - English - other

OBAMA TO KIM: "THESE ARE DOMESTIC ISSUES...[YOU] ARE COMPOUNDING THE PROBLEM"
The CSA's Barack Obama angrily dismissed criticisms from Japanese Prime Minister Kim Jong-Un, telling his counterpart that "the protests in Ferguson, and the issues it is related to... these are all domestic issues, Confederate domestic issues... it is not your place to tell us how to handle our domestic affairs." He also emphasized that "the CS Department of Justice is investigating the accusations and concerns, operating under the constitutional legal principle of 'innocent until proven guilty'," and that "wild accusations and angry assumptions, on either side, are only compounding the issue and exacerbating the problem." The protests in Ferguson began over the shooting of a black teenager by a white police officer. Some of the witnesses have told the press that the teenager in question was unarmed, but other witnesses say that he was carrying a weapon.
CANADIAN NURSE CRITICIZES QUARANTINE PROCEDURES: AID WORKERS MADE TO "FEEL LIKE CRIMINALS"
Canadian nurse and Doctors Without Borders volunteer Kaci Hickox has criticized Canada's new quarantine procedures for aid workers who visit countries hit by the outbreak, saying that they make aid workers "feel like criminals" and discourage medical workers from attempting to help fight the outbreak. Hickox says that, after arriving at Newark International Airport, she was held and interrogated for nearly seven hours, and allowed little to eat or drink. Hickox was held under procedures introduced by the governors of the Canadian provinces of New York and New Jersey, initiated after an ebola case was confirmed in New York City. Despite being a Canadian, Hickox first published her complaints in the Confederate newspaper the Dallas Morning News; Dallas recently became the first city in the Americas with a confirmed ebola case. Many aid workers have supported her, saying that the quarantine procedures are based more in fear than fact.
GOVERNOR OF JUXTLAHUACA RESIGNS OVER STUDENT DISAPPEARANCES AS TRHUANTEPECAN GOVERNMENT INVESTIGATES LOCAL POLICE
Angel Ayotzinapa, governor of the Tehuantepecan state of Juxtlahuaca, has resigned following further revelations about the disappearance of large numbers of student protesters in the city of Tepecoacuilco, saying that his resignation was necessary to ensure the best possible investigation of the issue. The Tehuantepecan government has also reported that the mayor of Tepecoacuilco, his wife, and the town's police chief have all gone missing- and that they were prime suspects in the case. Tehuantepecan Attorney-General Jesus Karam has said that it is likely that many officials in Tepecoacuilco and Juxtlahuaca have ties to criminal organizations and other dangerous elements. The disappearance of several dozen students has led to one of the largest government investigations in the country's history and has created massive public outrage.
CSA RETURNS COLLECTION OF ARTIFACTS CAPTURED BY CUSTOMS TO TAWANTISUYU
The Confederacy's Department of Homeland Security says that 20 ancient artifacts from Tawantisuyu captured by the CS customs department have been returned to Tawantisuyu. The objects were likely looted from ancient Tawantisuyu graves from before the Columbian exchange; the oldest was more than 1,800 years old. A Homeland Security spokesperson told the press that the items had been collected over a period of four years, and were "rightfully a part of Tawantisuyu's rich cultural heritage." Since 2007, the CS customs service has returned 7,150 items to countries including France, Poland, Rum, and China.
"HALF A MILLION AT RISK" AS DROUGHT IN CENTRAL AMERICA WORSENS, SAYS RED CROSS
The Red Cross has expressed concerns that efforts from the URCA and OAS to mitigate the effects of a drought hitting the URCA might not be enough, saying that "half a million people are at risk" of losing their livelihoods and their belongings. The drought has been hardest in the region of Honduras, where many families have reportedly suffered numerous adverse effects from the drought. The Red Cross has estimated that it will cost $1.28 million to assist those hardest hit by the drought; the OAS will reportedly be bringing up the issue as soon as possible.
VODUN MILITANTS IN VOLTA RENEW PUSH TO TAKE TIMBUKTU; MAURITANIA HAS BEGUN EVACUATING CIVILIANS
The Grand Mufti of Mauritania has said that the country is now letting in hundreds of refugees fleeing the besieged Voltan city of Timbuktu as fighting continues between Muslim and Vodun militias in the city's suburbs. "Not nearly enough is being done to protect these innocent people from the scourge of war," the Grand Mufti said today, though he ruled out the possibility of Mauritania sending forces into the Volta. The Volta has collapsed into a state of anarchy after Christian militants seized the capital, Accra, and forced the government to flee. The country is presently being wracked by a civil war largely based around religious tension, which has displaced millions and left the country in anarchy.
PACKETS OF YELLOW POWDER SENT TO CONSULATES IN RUM SPARKS SECURITY ALERT
The Rumite government has ordered that radioactive and chemical specialists be dispatched to several embassies in the country's capital, Istanbul, after sixteen packets containing an unidentified yellow powder were mailed to the embassies. A security alert has been issued and 16 people have been preventatively hospitalized. The packets were send to the CS, Canadian, Dutch, German, and French embassies in the city. The Canadian embassy was reportedly shut down for a day, and Germany says it had evacuated some non-essential staff. The current reasons for the attack are unknown.
YUGOSLAVIA AWARDED 3-0 WALKOVER AGAINST RUM, UEFA CONFIRMS
Yugoslavia has been awarded a 3-0 walkover against Rum after a Euro 2016 qualifier in Belgrade was abandoned, UEFA has confirmed, but they have also had three points deducted after the game was disrupted when a drone flew over the stadium showing irredentist Rumite claims over much of Yugoslavia, provoking a massive brawl in the stands and ultimately starting a fight on the pitch as well. Both countries were also fined ¥100,000 each. Both countries have confirmed they will appeal against the rulings.
BJP MEMBERS BECOMING NOTORIOUS FOR VANDALIZING "INSUFFICIENTLY HINDU" ESTABLISHMENTS
Members of the BJP's youth wing have been captured waving the party flag and smashing windows, chairs, and tables in hotels and cafés in response to "being insufficiently Hindu," according to various Indian media sources. The BJP has claimed that the youth in question were only "checking to see if video accusing young men and women of behaving in appropriately was accurate," a line which the opposition has missed. India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has come under fire for not doing enough to rein in far-rightist Hindu groups. This is not the first time he has come under accusations of not reining in Hindu extremists; as the leader of the state of Gujarat, he did comparatively little to stop a pogrom of a Muslims in one of the region's major cities. The BJP members have been charged with trespass, rioting, property damage, and other charges by Calicut police.

[1] Victoria had right to inherit over her brother George as per the Anglo-Japanese Succession Agreement of 1819, guaranteeing that Victoria would be raised Anglican, and would have right of succession over all of her immediate family, despite being the youngest child of Empress Akiko and Prince Edward.

Upon the Death of Queen Victoria Yamato (1901)

1. Prince Albert Edward, Prince of Wales (b. 1841), eldest son of the queen (King Edward VII)
2. Prince George, Duke of York (b. 1865), eldest living son of the Prince of Wales (future King George V)

...
Possible inheritors as of 1901 included (too distant in succession, however):
Emperor Wilhelm of the Holy Roman Empire (eldest grandson, son of Princess Victoria, eldest child) -- Not in immediate succession due to being matrilineally descended from Victoria.
Emperor George II of Japan (great-nephew, great-grandson of Edward of Kent and Strathearn) -- Not in immediate succession due to Victoria having a large number of children and grandchildren

Map Update

Several changes.

1. Canadian and Confederate territories changed colors for flavor
2. Got rid of that weird "Chinese colony" coloring. It's not needed.
3. Union of South Africa given it's own color, illustrating it's status as a self-governing colony.

You forgot to give Cabinda to the Dutch.

Truly, whatever you did for one of the least of my brothers and sisters, you did for me."

Speaking of Cabinda, I think that if it were given to the Dutch, I think it will not be an enclave due to the fact that the Congo ATL has a long enough coast to warrant not having to give a small part of the coast away from the Dutch, unlike OTL where Portugal had to give up the land link to Cabinda so Belgium could access it.
