Element threw the man to the ground and started to walk up to Cash. The guards around him tightened their aim on him and Element stopped. "Listen here, guy," said Element. "I've been on the run from you guys since I was fourteen. I've been betrayed by my own uncle, a man that I respected, that I loved. It already got out hand a long time." He raised up his arms. "When Homo sapiens appeared, they were like the mutants to Homo neanderthalenis. It looked as if they were going to coexist, but the Neanderthals were either hunted to extinction or were simply died off on their own."
"The way I see it though, the new human species and Homo Sapiens can coexist. Never did anything to deserve this. We were backed into corners, we were forced to play our hands....." Element went on his knees, with his hands on the back of his hand and back towards Cash. "You all did this. I am gonna go willingly. But I promise you, next time I escape, I'm gonna make you wish you let me escape this time."Kovac
Kovac, being Kovac, could not let that false comment slide, "actually they were not mutants. Modern humans and neanderthals evolved from two different branches of the Homo family and both were merely different subspecies of the same species." he said as the guards tied his arms. "Secondly I believe that your entire worldview is flawed. You did bring this on yourself. No one forced you to escape from the facility and no one forced you hide in populated areas where casualties are almost inevitable. I have fought many mutants who have turned to crime or viewed themselves as a new species and thus not bound by human convention, such as you are beginning to believe. Furthermore mutants are not a new species as we do not share enough genetic similarities with each other and lack similarities with normal humans to be considered such. Finally, using Vampire as a base, we are able to reproduce with humans and the offspring of the union is viable."
Murphy decided to jump in "So get off your high horse. Do you know what happens when we lose control? Of course you do, people die. Do you know how many agents you killed? How many didn't want to kill you, just capture you so that you could be taught to control it? But you don't care, you killed them. They were just bad guys to you, but to us, they were friends with families who left behind widows and orphans." he gestured to the guards who solemnly nodded in agreement. "When I lose control of my powers I can demolish buildings! Or you! Do you know how many innocent people you killed in "stunts" like that plane fire you caused? How many third degree burns you caused to the passengers when you blacked out and the fire went out of control? Of course not." He gestured for the syringe to be put in Element. "Good night, if it was up to me, it would be your last, but Orion is willing to try and help you. Probably do more for you than you deserve or that you would do for others." It was unlikely that Element had heard the last couple of sentences as he was already asleep. The guard wasted no time in putting the second syringe to suppress him.Sobol
Sobol looked at the screen where the confrontation took place. "That was exciting. I would love to speak with the young man, but I have a prior engagement that has been waiting several decades to happen." He nodded to the screen with an awake Loki tied to a chair.
"We won't keep you doctor." Brunner moved to the mike, "Kovac, Murphy, meet the doctor at interrogation room 2." He moved away and turned to his secretary, Ms. Davenport. "Find out who screwed up and how. I want to..."
The rest of Brunner's sentence was cut off for Sobol, at least, as the door to the room closed behind him. He proceeded to make the short trip to the "Big Four" rooms. Interrogation rooms 1-4 where kept separate from the rest of the room as they were designed to house the worst mutants that were caught. He nodded to the platoon of guards standing outside room 1. They were there to guard Vampire. The suppressant was a wonderful drug that used Färber's own serum against itself. It suppressed the serum and brought the mutants back down to what they actually were, mutants. However, Vampire was a natural mutant and thus the only way to keep him bound was to keep him locked up tighter than Houdini. Thankfully it had worked, Vampire had not fed in a while and thus his powers were close to their limit, enough for him to think twice about escaping.
He passed them to the four soldiers guarding Färber. Ibrahim and Brian were already there. "Shall we?"
Ibrahim nodded, Brian responded, "Whenever doc."
He nodded to the soldier closest to the door. He opened the door and stepped aside. Sobol entered, once more flanked by Brian and Ibrahim. Brian moved to the chair next to the door and Ibrahim to the table. "Hello, "Mr. Schuster" as you like to call yourself. Shall we drop the facade or would you like to keep going?"
Schuster looked up at the man he had imprisoned all those years ago. Sobol was a young child then, while Schuster was quite older. But that did not matter, they had developed a bond, a bond that would forever unite them. He had blessed Sobol with the abilities of the gods but yet he still hated him. Why? Sobol was acting too childish, holding on to the past. It was those dead parents. Sobol shouldn't dwell on the past, its not healthy.
Schuster looked up at the guards that surrounded him, noting their rather emotionless face but yet beyond that they still had fear hiding in the shadows. Was it this place, perphaps. He was a god in their eyes. . Ignoring Sobol's question, he asked something more personal, "Why do you hate me?" He let that question sink in for a moment and becase he was thoroughly amused, he laughed.
