Tyra arrived in the Outpost. She was drenched in dried blood, but her crimson robes helped hide most of it. She carried a massive knapsack filled with gecko meat, various plants and several weeks' rations and other supplies plundered from dead Legionnaires.

"Bagged me a few Legion grunts out there.", she boasted, dropping her loot at the feet of the other Remnants. Some of the NCR troopers cheered her and she gave them a friendly smile. Other Remnants would know she was still wary of the NCR, but she'd started to manage to be cordial to their Californian comrades. At first the Scribe and and the Californians clashed all the time for ideological reasons, but a few days earlier they'd all gotten drunk together to celebrate a victory against the Legion... Despite the Californians' corrupt Liberalism and Tyra's militaristic Communism, they'd bonded over drunkenly ranting about how useless and shitty their respective governments truly were. From then on, Tyra had actually started to like them.

She jumped into the conversation between the Wanderer and the ghoul. "We can trust them muties. Jacobstown's, I mean.", she said. "Been there once or twice, buyin' some rations and some MFCs: The muties got some sort of commune running, and they don't like the idea of payin' tribute to them pseudo-Roman f***tards any more than we do. Bad news is, the green bastards' long lives give'em long-term thinking. Last time I checked they were plannin' to sit on their asses till Caesar kicked the bucket, in case them Legions splintered and they got away with ignoring the problem till it went away.", she shrugged. "Good news is, now that Lanius managed to keep them Legions together they might as well give up on the idea, get off their fat green asses and start doin' something about it.", she shrugged.

A Courier from the Mojave Express runs in and hands the Legate a letter after a quick read he looked at the Senate "I am going to be honest now that the speakers to the Strip is off. If I find out you told anybody I will not hesitate to crucify you, the Legion is in trouble and is in danger of destruction at the hands of its own system. By rewarding ambition and not skill all of our power players are idiots and are unable to march ants in a line, and for that the people, even east of the Colorado, are up in arms about it. The reason Caesars Legion is so strict and dictatorial is that it will explode if it isn't."

Samuel Lee was a smart man, not very agile but strong. His hair had a few streaks of grey from the long four years spent in the Mojave. The Mojave was a place where conflict was inevitable, but conflict is always good for business. Lee walked out of the Crimson Caravan Company with his brahmin behind him. In his hands was a Marksman Carbine that his father had given him, and he was wearing pre-war combat armor. He started heading for New Vegas. There was always someone who needed something or someone carried somewhere.
As he walked, he reflected on the recent changes in the Mojave government. "It doesn't really matter who's in power, but the Legion taking over could be very profitable," he said to himself. "With these recent uprisings, weapons will be needed on both sides." He stopped talking and began looking around, there was always someone in the hills waiting for an unsuspecting merchant.

Was alive before the war, my soul was saved, my skin wasn't as lucky it seems. Lived in vegas for a spell till that House guy kicked most people out, so i went to the NCR, and ended up being a ranger. They never sent me east though, so i decided to go myself. Too late it seems. I have over 200 years expirience with humanity and let me tell you, if we are going to survive we need technology, medicine, science. The legion opposes these, they are taking us backwards, taking away freedom, democracy and progress. They are a cancer, and if they spread, they might doom us all. If you are going to fight with me you might wanna keep your distance, i've never been a good shot, so i use explosives so i don't have to. Mighty fine jumpsuit you have there, woulda thought it makes more sense to wear armour, but it's your arse.

You sure these muties can be trusted? Had to hunt down a few out west, healthy supply of minigun bullets too, and dumb as a bag of hammers.

Shepard laughed a little. "I grew up out east, in Vault 101". Shepard went on to explain his life. Living in the Vault, leaving and perusing his father, Project Purity, defeating the Enclave, Broken Steel, and everything else, including Fawkes. When he was done, they were on the road leading to Jacobstown. "Oh, and we can trust them. I'd bet my life on it".

Ulysses stood on the balcony of the Jacobstown lodge and stared at the rising sun. Unlike most mutants here he seemed to like it, seeing the black of night fade and change into the orangy-yellow colours of sunrise. Probably was an artist before he became a mutant. He had nightmares about those times, most during the transition, whrn he was dunked into the green goo that changed him, forever.

It was morning and anyway Grob, the massive Super Mutant from the Capital Wastelands, needed feeding. He had gone through twenty bighorns alone in his first day. Marcus didn't feel much for him but Ulysses did, treating Grob like a brother, well technically he was, but that didn't stop him from being overly kind to him.

As he was just about to feed Grob, he saw a couple of shadows on the road. Ulysses looked up and saw two humans walking towards Jacobstown.

So you had a super mutant with a gatling lazer protecting you? Jesus. Well as long as the muties let me have my MG here we'll be cool. Suppose you know that this legion aren't like anything you have ever faced. They're almost brainwashed into upmost obediance to their caesar. The old caesar is dead, but this new one is even worse. They lead a crusade against technology, and well, they must be stopped.

Shepard nodded. "A Centurion wanted me to join the Legion. I refused, then killed him. Back home, there's a place called Underworld, for Ghouls. It's their safe haven".

That defeats the point in my opinion, i don't see why we can't just be treated like everybody else. People don't tend to bother me though, not with the ranger armour on. One time i didn't though, I was in freeside, drinking, and some NCR soldier comes in and starts taunting me, trying to start a fight. "You don't wanna be doin that" I said, "why's that zombie? You gonna eat my brains" he said. So i said, "no, you should stop because I am your superior officer soldier!" And i whipped out my ranger badge. Boy's skin was colourless for a second, heh. Another time, Some thugs ran at me, three of em, not noticing my black armour, so i just put my helmet on. They turned right around. Still killed em though.

As they entered Jacobstown, Shepard noticed the giant Super Mutant Beomoth, and his eyes widened. He greeted Marcus, but was stuck in a dead stare with the Beomouth. "Why the fuck..." he mumbled. He ran towards it, weapon drawn, and yelled to the Super Mutant on the balcony. "Why the FUCK is that here!!!!???".

The Legate looked down at his roster "Change of plans. We have reliable information that the Jacobstown Super Mutants are preparing an attack. I move to attack Jacobstown and rid the Wasteland of the despicable Super Mutant/Nightkin threat."

Tyra smirked at the Lone Wanderer: "Weren't ya from the East Coast? That's just some big East Coast mutie.", she shrugged. "Wouldn't spook it if I was you: They're kind of aggressive and not very bright.". Then she grinned: "Big enough to scare the shit out of them Legion troops, too."

Shepard gulped. "Im from the Capital Wasteland... those things.... ugh...". He motioned for the mutant to come down.

"What the hell do you feed him? Legionaries?

I think me and the big guy can be friends... Here buddy, i got a treat for ya!"

Josh pulls a plastic bag out of his backpack, and unwraps it to reveal a mysterious meat. He waves it in front of the behemoth, who notices it and looks down. Josh places the meat on the floor and backs away, allowing the behemoth to grasp it in his giant fingers. A soft gurgling sound can be heard coming from the mutant's throat as he stands back up at his full height, and then stops as he devours the meat, which was barely the width of one of his giant teeth.

Samuel was on the move again. This contract was a smuggling one. He was supposed to bring two shoulder- mounted machine guns to Jacobstown. Samuel didn't normally smuggle, on the premise that the ruling power might make business bad for him, but the caps were too good to turn down.

"One day, I went out hunting for bighorns, then Grob appears. I haven't seen one that big before, an it's skin is kinda different, but I adopted him. Sure he may be big an ugly, but he hasn't ever attacked me or any other mutants."

Ulysses stares at the human.

"You're from the Capital? What are you doing here?" He asks the man.

"Found im, up in the mountains. He must have travelled a long way to get here," Ulysses told the man in the jumpsuit.

Shepard shook off the old wounds. "Well, we could use him, and you, to fight the Legion. He's like Liberty Prime, just not a robot, and doesn't throw mini-nukes...

"Hmmmm" Ulysses thinks.

"I'll join ya, but I'll have to ask Grob what he thinks,"

Ulysses turns round and shouts at Grob. "Grob!! Would you like to fight normals?,"

Grob stares at Ulysses and cocks his head.

"Let me put this in terms you understand." Ulysses mutters.
"Grob go smash normie?." Ulysses shouts again.

Grob roars loudly.

Ulysses turns to the human. "He'll come along, but he might mistake you for one of those legionaires or whatever, so stick by me."
