i have departed rum on my own power, and i have sought out the truth of the world. emmanuel carasso may never return, but ferdinand eichemann will. my friend, i am safe and happy in japanese ethiopia, but I plead of you to not tell anyone of these circumstances. We will see each other again some day. I'm sure of it.

The news that Ukraine-Romania is taking his racist book to heart and melding it into the fascist ideology causes him extreme distress, so much so that he locked himself in a closet and wailed for an hour and begged forgiveness from God for his sin. Eichemann wrote a small book that somehow found it's way into the world through a small publication firm in Japanese Ethiopia, using his assumed name.
The Great Dictator was a criticism of fascism and the authoritarian ideology taking root in Ukraine-Romania. A young man named Oleg Tukhachevsky was serving on the frontlines with Crimea during the Great War. However, an incident leaves the young man hospitalized for twenty years. In the future year 1912, Ukraine is ruled by "the Sons and Daughters of the Double Cross", a tyrannical party under the "Vozhd-Tsar" Mikhail.
In the book he writes, "Under the symbol of the Double Cross, liberty was banished, and only the voice of Mikhail was heard..." He recounts that Oleg and Mikhail look exactly the same, and while Mikhail plots the invasion of Crimea, and succeeds, at the very end, he is assassinated by poison and Oleg takes his place. At the end, Oleg gives a speech of brotherhood and peace, calling for "soldiers to overthrow their chains of oppression, and forge a new world -- a decent world..."
The book is an overt criticism of Carasso's previous work, the general idea of racial discrimination, and the new Ukrainian Tsar, who is depicted as a megalomaniac bufoon via Mikhail. In the book, Eichemann gives a scathing criticism of the psuedo science in both Carasso and in Mehmet S's work.
"The science involved in determining the inferiority of races is false... humanity are all brothers in the end -- why must we classify ourselves as things? It is regrettable that there exist such beliefs in this world."
Privately, Eichemann struggled with his own racist tendencies and used the book as a means of turning away from the violent racism he showed against the Crimeans, which he now regrets.

Message from Khagan Farkhad Tangri, Caliph of the Shiite Church
Glory be to you, Caliph of the Sunni,
I write to you today with a mighty proposal. In these dark times the world seems to be facing, even after the peace made after the great war, the Islamic church stands fractured and divided by internal conflict. We are seen as vulnerable to the outside churches who await the chance to exploit our weakness as a divided faith.
I seek to remedy this situation. You and I are the two heads of the largest and oldest sects of Islam. To unify the church, I propose a marriage. A marriage between the two of us could unify the Islamic church into the powerful faith it deserves to be and unify the middle eastern region. Please, consider my request. I anxiously await your response.
Signed,
Farkhad Tangri,
Caliph of the Shiite Church and Khagan of the Ilkhanate

Are you sure of this decision, sir? I am a woman past her prime, my loins cannot bear children as well, if at all. I will marry you if you are okay with that.
Signed,

Empire of Tawantinsuyu
To: President Antonio Cabrera, United Republics of Central America
CC: President Marcos Rankel, Republic of Venezuela
CC: Consul Crescenciano Carbajal, Rio Grande
Hello, my fellow Central and South American friends.
As you may know, I am the reigning Empress of the Tawantinsuyu Empire. An Empire that has been around for centuries, and was raped by Mother Spain. We have come to accept our status as members of the Hispanosphere, and we do not wish to see our nation fall in line with the foreign policies of nations with unsimilar cultural ideas and maxims. We are all members of the Organization of American States -- set up by the Confederacy to "repel" Europe from our shores.
I believe that Latin Americans should put their own international standing and diplomacy in their own hands. While we should remain OAS members, I believe we should assemble in Ciudad de la Fortuna to discuss a possible Federation of Latin American States, serving as a diplomatic, military and economic response to belief that we are backwards, breed with our llamas, and are generally incompetent in the face of the white man or yellow man.
If you find this amendable, I await your presence in my capital city.
I wish you all the best,
Maritza

Sapa Inca Maritza, in her eternal labour to gain glory and recognition as a monarch from the people and nobility of the Tawantinsuyu nation, sat quietly in her study. The Inca state had, for centuries, been a guiding figure in South America. In recent time, the neutrality of Tawantinsuyu and the political intrigue around her uncle and grandfather had displaced Tawantinsuyu's power at the hands of the Confederate States and Britain.
In a moment of strategic decision, she sent letters to the states of Central and South America.

Cleveland opened the conference thus:
"Welcome, one and all. It has been only twelve months since this world was prepared to tear itself into ribbons over the needs of nations to conquer, subdue, and destroy all who oppose them. Now, we stand here to ensure that this is the war to end all wars and to ensure that peace will rule the world with the creation of an instrument for guiding us all. Some time ago, I had proposed six points that the world should consider. Now that we are at peace, the governments of Britain, Canada, and all of the dominions have agreed on a seventh point, which we hope will guide us all.
"To ensure the peace of the world:
1. There should be covenants of peace, openly arrived at, after which there shall be no private international understandings of any kind but diplomacy shall proceed always frankly and in the public view.
2. Absolute freedom of navigation upon the seas, outside territorial waters, alike in peace and in war, except as the seas may be closed in whole or in part by international action for the enforcement of international covenants.
3. The removal of all economic barriers and the establishment of equality of trade conditions among all the nations consenting to the peace and associating themselves for its maintenance.
4. Adequate guarantees given and taken that national armaments will be reduced to the lowest point consistent with domestic safety.
5. A free, open-minded, and absolutely impartial adjustment of all colonial and territorial claims, based upon a strict observance of the principle that in determining all such questions of sovereignty the interests of the populations concerned must have equal weight with the equitable claims of the government whose title is to be determined.
6. The people of the Republic of the Rio Grande, Vilayet of Al-Mayiquh, and the Confederacy of Tehuantepec, whose places among the nations we wish to see safeguarded and assured, should be accorded the freest opportunity to autonomous development, and thus be evacuated by the Confederacy.
7. A general association of nations, victors and vanquished alike, must be formed under specific covenants for the purpose of affording mutual guarantees of political independence, world security and peace, and territorial integrity to great and small states alike.
"If we can agree to these terms," Ishikawa concluded, then we believe, and our Queen does as well, that peace and liberty will be secure around the world. If we fail here, then peace and liberty will fail. Let us begin this great task that stands before us."

Shrillland wrote:"Aye," Ishikawa said, "I remember your open telegram on the subject last year, Mr. President. I still have my copy of it back at Downing Street. And as Britain itself, though I cannot speak for all of her dominions, treats its prisoners fairly, I agree that we must do what we can to avoid the horrors carried out by Sir Cecil Rhodes down in South Africa. As for treating the ill, we British and the Canadians have our own Red Cross organisations. I wholeheartedly agree with you that the entire world should form an International Order of the Red Cross and the Red Crescent(in the case of Rum), with a single united standard for its workers and medical personnel. Your other proposals are also excellent, and the International Criminal Court can be part of the World Organisation which we hope to create."
Cleveland now rose. "I would like to address an offending passage in point six. It is true that there are many states that can be called vassals of greater states without necessarily being full-fledged colonies. We Canadians were part of such a system for many years until Britain granted her dominions political independence with the Westminster Statutes. Now, our bonds to assist each other are done because of the common brotherhood that we shar, and we hope that will be the same with all nations in the future. As for singling out the Confederate States, you must remember, Mr. President, that at the time of writing the original document, we were still at war with the CSA and wished to use them as an example. We do not wish to alienate our dear neighbour, and we can assure you now that all nations will be treated equally in this and all instances."
Cleveland then turned to Prime Minister Adams to address her concerns. "As the second point clearly states, Prime Minister, absolute freedom of the seas only applies outside of territorial waters. The nations of the world may still close the waters that they own in times of crisis."
