Also, mmm, Netherlands and Rum stronk in AU. AU is best union.

Catalonia isn't joining? In that case, it has the German sphere.

Also, both the EAU and OAS would dispute that.

Catalonia would probably either join the EAU or Germany's sphere of influence. Catalonia is hostile to Spain, and insists that it is the successor to the Kingdom of Aragon, and that the Union of Crowns is invalid with Barcelona being independent.

I don't know if France would really be included in the EAU considering it'll be a fascist regime...

Also, Great Britain is not going to join the AU, citing geographical distance from Asia and the fact that it has no territory in the region.

I'm so obsessed with Kamuy-Mosir (Kerguelens, Crozet Isles, Heard and McDonald Islands, St. Martin and Amsterdam Islands) that I am tempted to start a student exchange RP in there for the Antarctic University (studying Antarctic science, but also literature, math, physics, chemistry, political science, and law), or at least some sort of RP like vacationing there in the (northern hemisphere) summer and getting stranded in a cabin in the mainland (Kerguelen Archipelago).

If I do this RP, it will be set in the AWWA-verse, and only those currently in this RP will be permitted to RP in that thread. If there's enough interest, I will put the IC up of that thread (I'll also let you guys decide) and let you make your characters on the spot (one or maybe two per ATL nation as of 2014).

And because it would be really silly to have Fiji as the only independent nation in the tiny-islands bit of Oceania, Fijian independence is no longer canon. German Oceania FTW.

Japanese Concern Over Ferguson

The Imperial Senate and Japanese human rights groups are calling for the punishment of Ferguson, Missouri's police department for their handling of the death and murder of an American teenager, who was shot six times, despite complying with the police officer's demands. The Chancellor's office released a statement that said that "the actions of the police in Ferguson were already reaching the border between police brutality and crimes against humanity".

An international outrage over the murder has peaked on social media websites, as many are calling for action. At the United Nations, Japanese ambassador Musashi Saotome spoke, calling on the need for international regulation on military proliferation, as many have blamed the murder and rapid escalation of tensions on the recent upswing in police militarism in the Confederate States.

Senator Takahiro Ryota Johnson, a Kuomintang representative for the Okinawa prefecture, echoed Ambassador Saotome's sentiment, calling on President Obama and the Confederate Congress to do "their best efforts to bring an end to the civil strife in Missouri." Many other Senators have condemned the declaration of martial law and the deployment of National Guardsmen in Ferguson. The Empress has not commented on the crisis.

Japanese Chancellor Kim Jong-un is expected to visit Washington D.C. next week as part of his itinerary on a Western Hemisphere tour. He is expected to visit New Cuzco, Ottawa, Washington D.C, Caracas and Managua.

^ This would be Japan's response to Ferguson, MO.

Hey, Ruri, do you think Malcolm X would defect to the Rumites in the 1960s after disavowing the Nation of Islam and embracing Sunni? Especially after the destruction of Mecca in 1964?

Nevermind, Malcolm X actually dies in Mecca in 1964. He went on Hajj in April 1964. O______O

Damn. Kennedy and X, both dead because of Indonesia? That doesn't bode well for Indonesia at all.

Malcolm X left the Confederate States on April 13, 1964, meaning that he probably would be in Mecca on April 22, 1964.

“America,” he wrote from Saudi Arabia on April 20, 1964, “needs to understand Islam, because this is the one religion that erases the race problem from its society.”

He was in Mecca on the 20th, so it's completely feasible for him to be caught up in the 4/22 bombing.

Selim IV, who had known that Malcolm X was in Mecca, since he had personally approved the man's application of entry and validated his Islamic faith, would name him a great martyr and that he had been brought to Allah's kingdom, and he would be one of the faces carved into the 4/22 memorial in Mecca after it's rebuild, along side Abdulhamid and some others.

POSSIBILITY OF A 'CRISIS OF 2014' GROWS AFTER CLASHES ON GERMAN-CZECHOSLOVAK DMZ CONTINUE

August 18, 2014
VIENNA, GERMANY -
The United Nations has expressed concern following a second clash between German and Czechoslovak forces along the Central European Demilitarized Zone, with Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon telling the press that "the possibility of a Crisis of 2014 in Central Europe grows larger every day, so long as deescalation processes do not start."

The clash, which left 12 Germans and 4 Czechoslovaks dead, occurred on the banks of the March/Morava River, near the German town of Angern-an-der-March and the Czechoslovak town of Zahorska Ves. It comes only days after a similar clash left 7 Germans and 9 Czechoslovaks dead near the German city of Zittau and the Czechoslovak village of Hradek-nad-Nisou.

The heavily-fortified DMZ has been around since 1896, when the Uzhorod Armistice Agreement declared a ceasfire between Germany, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, and Galicia(which joined Poland in 1991). Because the Uzhorod Agreement only declared a ceasefire, and did not end the Central European Crisis, Germany and Hungary legally remain at war with Czechoslovakia to this day, claiming it as their sovereign territory. However, the two countries have found themselves increasingly alone, with more and more countries recognizing Czechoslovakia- including several of Germany's former colonies and longtime allies.

If Ban Ki-Moon's hypothetical 'Crisis of 2014' becomes a reality, it would not be the first. Similar crises occurred in 1911, 1924, 1939, 1958, 1966, 1971, and 1985. It would, however, be the first in several decades, and the first after Poland's annexation of Galicia.

To the surprise of few, Hungary and Denmark have cast their support behind Germany, whereas Yugoslavia and Poland have expressed support for Czechoslovakia.

EDIT: Though unconfirmed, reports are coming out of Hungary that there has been a third clash between Hungarian troops in Esztergom and Czechoslovak troops in Sturovo, on opposite sides of the Danube River. No casualties have yet been reported. The situation is likely to escalate further. The North New Guinean government has ordered all flights to Hungary, Germany, and Czechoslovakia cancelled.

I made a version of this that reflects this universes USSR.

To Kiev I came seeking fortune
But they’re making me work til I’m dead
The bourgeoisie have it so easy
The Tsar’s putting gold on his bread
The people of Kiev are hungry
But think what a feast there could be
If we could create a socialist state
That cared for the people like me:

I am the man who arranges the blocks
That descend upon me from up above.
They come down and I spin them around
Til they fit in the ground like hand in glove.
Sometimes it seems that to move blocks is fine
And the lines will be formed as they fall -
Then I see that I have misjudged it!
I should not have nudged it after all.
Can I have a long one please?
Why must these infernal blocks tease?

I am the man who arranges the blocks
That continue to fall from up above.
Come Kievite! Let the workers unite!
A collective regime of peace and love.
I work so hard in arranging the blocks
But the landlord and taxman bleed me dry
But the workers will rise! We will not compromise
For we know that the old regime must die.
Long live Petrovsky, kill the tsar!
We salute the sickle and star!

I am the man who arranges the blocks
That continue to fall from up above.
The food on your plate now belongs to the state
A collective regime of peace and love.
I have no choice in arranging the blocks
Under Bilshovyk rule, what they say goes.
The rule of the game is we all are the same
And my blocks must create unbroken rows.
Long live Pavlenko! He loves you!
Sing these words, or you know what he’ll do...

I am the man who arranges the blocks
That are made by the men in Moldavia.
They come two weeks late and they don’t tessellate
But we’re working to Pavlenko’s five year plan.
I am the man who arranges the tanks
That will make all the Nazis keep away
Oleksandr is dead, and the Balkans are Red!
Let us point all our guns at Rossiya!
We shall live forever more!
We can start a nuclear war!

I am the man who arranges the blocks
That are building a highly secret base.
Hip hip hurrah for the USSR!
We are sending our men to outer space.
I work so hard in arranging the blocks
But each night I go home to my wife in tears -
What’s the point of it all, when you’re building a wall
And in front of your eyes it disappears?
Pointless work for pointless pay
This is one game I shall not play.

I am the man who arranges the blocks!
But tomorrow I think I’ll stay in bed.
The winter is cold, I’ve got plenty of gold
And I’m standing in line for a loaf of bread
Maybe we’d be better off
If we brought down Lutsenkov

I am the man who arranges the blocks
That continue to fall from up above.
The nation is free! So much liberty for me!
Tell me, why should I care for peace and love?
The nation is free! So much liberty for me!
Tell me, why should I care for peace and love?
Peace and love, peace and love!

And now the labor camps are down, the Pavlekoists frown
There’s foreign shops all over town
When in Red Square, well don’t despair
There’s Levi’s and McDonald’s there
The CS gave us crystal meth
And Serhiy drank himself to death
But now that Kushnin’s put the boot in,
Who’ll get in our way?

So we reject western enterprise
And once again we will rise.
Prepare the flags to be unfurled
For we’re seceding from the world:
We shall regain the Crimean soil
We shall obtain the Iranian oil
We shall arrange the blocks and toil
Forever and a day.

Game over.
Be gay, do crime.
