Three centuries have passed since Eragon Shadeslayer, leader of the Dragon Riders, defeated the tyrant king Galbatorix. He left Alagaësia 300 years ago, and the Riders have flourished under his leadership. Alagaesia has seen a long time of peace, but that may soon change. A powerful magician, a man by the name of Diávolos Polemistí̱s, has made himself known, and he plans on destroying what the Varden had fought for three centuries ago: the freedom of every race.

Hey guys!! Diabolus Thronus, here, and I want to welcome you to my latest RP, Inheritance: Aftermath. In case you didn't read my little opener, this is an RP set in the beautiful land of Alagaësia three hundred years after Eragon left to rebuild the Riders. You, as a player, will create your very own Rider, from any of the four races of Alagaësia, and help in a fight for the freedom of all that may destroy everything you know and love.

Rules

1) No godmodding/metagaming

2) I will allow some free reign

3) 3 strikes, and you're out with no hope of getting back in

4) My word is law, as well as my Co-Op(s)

Brief Bio: Born a year after Galbatorix's fall, Jalyki was the son of a great warrior, but that warrior's name has been lost to the dregs of time. When he was twenty, as was the custom of old, he was presented before a silver dragon egg, which hatched for him. He named the dragon Urrykaih and the two started the Riders' training with Arya Drottning. After five years of vigorous training, Jalyki, Urrykaih, and several other bonded Riders traveled with their dragons to the mountain city known as Exodus, where the Riders now reside.

As he continued his studies, Jalyki proved himself to be a clever and brutal warrior. Eragon had taken him personally as an apprentice. After about thirty years of apprenticeship, Jalyki was finally deemed skilled enough to either take on his own apprentices or take on expeditions on his own, so he traveled back to Alagaësia, where he decided to stay and help Arya with beginning young Riders' training. He has been living in Ellesméra ever since, traveling to the different homes of the four races to gather the new recruits to his Order.

Could you please reveal a little more on the background?
What transpired during the three centuries? Any wars, issues, or events transpire in particular?
Will we be starting in Ellesmera with you, or in the capital, or around Alagaesia?
What have the other races been doing during the three hundred years of peace?
Who are their leaders?
What are the relationships between the races like?
What is the age range of the chars? Young as in teens or can they be older than that?
Are we playing exclusively as newly-made riders or can there be experienced veterans?
Will we be starting with our dragons as hatchlings/growing/full-grown?
Can we ally ourselves with Diavolos?
What's your position on magic?
Is the tech still the same as three hundred years ago or has new stuff come into play (gunpowder for muskets and cannons, etc.)?

A mysterious warrior magician who calls himself Diávolos Polemistí̱s leads a cult of warriors and magicians who worship Galbatorix as their god and has made himself and his cult known to the world. He plans on destroying Alagaësia's peoples so they can be "reborn" under Galbatorix's rule in his afterlife kingdom. The King of the Empire, Krohw, gathered the rulers of the respective races of Alagaësia to conduct a council on what they should do about the situation. They all agreed to call upon the Riders, and that's where our chars come in.

Nothing big has happened in the 300 years since Eragon left Alagaësia, except for humanity's ruler changing several times since Nasuada took the throne. Everyone has been in good relations with each other.

They've been prospering in this time of peace.

Elves: Arya Drottning, Dwarfs: Orik, Urgals/Kull: Garzvhog, Humans: Krohw

All four races have been on good terms with each other.

You can be a newly-fledged Rider in his/her teens/early twenties to a veteran Rider who's in the middle of his second century of being a Rider. For example: my character is nearly 300 hundred years old, and has been a Rider for most of that time.

The age of your dragon will be either growing or full grown.

Diávolos is madman who leads a group of magicians who worship Galbatorix as a god. We, as Riders, will not be allying ourselves with him.

Magic is a huge part of the Inheritance world, my friend. I would be surprised if you didn't use a lot of magic. But, the same rules for magic in the books apply to this RP.

Come to think of it, yes, I think there will be gunpowder and cannons. No personal firearms like pistols or muskets, but there might be cannons... It would be one of the many inventions that Galbatorix talked about in the fourth book.

Do these answers adequately satisfy your questions? Also, there's no need to apologize for the questions

So does this mean we'll be starting with you/we're all scattered around/Ellesmera or the capital meeting with the Council?

In terms of magic, I'd meant more what skills would be expected of new/veteran Riders? Would the older riders be able to use magic without words (like Angela's, the Oracle woman's, mentor whose name escapes me?)? If we're new Riders then how advanced can our magic be? Eragon had difficulty lifting a pebble at first, I assume that our chars will be able to do more than that of course, but what are the parameters if any?
Also, swords and weapons in general. Can we have a "magic" sword forged by the Elves? Duel-wielding? Bows?

Magical trinkets akin to Brom's Ring, are we allowed to have similar objects in our possession?

We will be starting off in Ellesmera, having been called upon by Arya, and will continue on from there.

New Riders will have a limited knowledge of the ancient language, like Eragon in the books, and will gradually learn more along the way. Veteran Riders will have an advanced knowledge of the ancient language, and therefore will be able to more things with said knowledge. They will be able to use magic without using the AL, but they won't do that very often due to their vigorous training stressing otherwise.

On the weapons, I will allow different types of weapons (katanas, staff-swords, that sorta thing), and they will all be forged in the same manner as Eragon's sword was. Also, there can be duel-wielding, and bows will be of Elven-make, if you wish for your character to have one.
