When Eva was little, she was taught to use her magic to heal injuries sustained by others by her mother. Her mother had been a healer, and a great one at that. Although one day, when she was 12, her house had been raided by burglars and both parents killed. She however, was at a friends house at the time. When she came back to her house, there was a message on a notepad by her mothers body that she had barely scribbled and smeared with blood. The message said, "'Tis much too soon, but now you must go to Calais and further your training at an Academy near New York". As she wept, she burned the house down as were further instructions on the note and, with the clothes on her back, went to Calais. There she stowed away on a ship and headed to America where the ship docked at New York, from there, she searched and searched for this mysterious 'Academy' until she collapsed in the American country side, almost dead from lack of food and water and fatigue. Then one of the Academy's mentors found her and took her in, nursing her back to health, and works as the school's nurse while she learns and further improves her skills.
