New Imperialism - 1900 AH RP [War Thread]

Postby Alleniana » Sat Jan 11, 2014 1:49 am

As the sun rises over the world, shines brightly overhead in another and comes down in yet another, it would seem to be but a normal day in the absurdly long history of the planet, and the fraction of it dedicated to humans, which, small as it may seem compared to the whole, is also massive.

But it is not.

It is the 1st of January, in the year 1900 AD, or CE, as some have taken to calling it. One thousand nine-hundred years, twenty centuries, or whatever else you would care to call it, such an arbitrary number. And yet, it is significant, as fireworks light up the sky in different parts of the world, and as people celebrate a new year, a new decade, a new century, they celebrate and commemorate a milestone, one that they created and one that they honor.

Humanity has been around for much, much longer, but what it does has not ceased to amaze even the members of its own race, both in greatness, as in the terrible and the monotonous and wonderful. It progresses, forwards, and as it crosses this line it drew so long ago, what comes? What does the new times, so interconnected with the old, bring for this species as a whole? What will be achieved, among the great entities of the world?

You decide.

Panama City - 9:00 PM

Image
The night was calm, a light rain showered the soil of the zone, and the wind blew with insignificant force. General Ramirez stood in the balcony of the main garrison of the city, drinking his cup of tea while watching the city and the rain. Ramirez, 45, had a brilliant life as a military man- ascending quickly among the ranks during his younger years- but lost everything after being unable to stop an armed revolt (15 years ago) near the border with the Kingdom of Charcas. Even though the revolt was in a very weak state at the time, Ramirez mismanaged his troops, armed himself with overconfidence, and overestimated his opponent. The result, a humiliating defeat for the Colombian Army. The Charcas Army had to help Colombian forces crush the armed rebellion. Ramirez's past successes helped him to avoid a forced retirement and was sent to administer the troops stationed in Panama- far away from the Capital City, far away from any action. Many would call it an exile. General Ramirez only saw it as a temporary retirement; he was a very optimistic man.

General Ramirez ponder the meaning of life- of his life to be specific- while drinking that tea that night. He came to the conclusion that this was effectively the end of his career: to protect a pointless piece of land between two oceans. Suddenly, the General's philosophical hour was stopped by a soldier who walked in. The young man said, "General, good night sir, I bring a telegram from Bogota." The General ignored the soldier until the last three words. Ramirez stopped drinking his tea and turned to the soldier; he received the telegram and read it. Ramirez looked the soldiers in the eyes, remembering how that day in which he saw the Colombian flag being overwhelmed by flames, then he looked at the telegram again. He walked out of the balcony and called his officers. The General would fight again, the General would be given a second opportunity after 15 years of exile.

Sorry for posting a map of the canal. It doesn't exist yet, but it was the only good map I could find of the battlefield. The border between Mexico and Colombia is where the future canal would be (the red line).

Panama City - 9:00 PM

General Ramirez sent a letter to all his officers in the State of Panama. They were at war so everyone must be ready to fight- even when the General was a very optimistic man, in the battlefield he was the most pessimistic one. The General ordered the movement and set up of artillery at the end of the Panama City and Colon (Near the border). From the arsenal of the cities, the army installed field guns, mortars, mountain guns, and infantry support guns. Because of the difficult terrain between both cities, the Colombian Army installed mountain guns in strategic places along the border. Since the war declaration came without notice, the army wasn't prepare at the time and spent some hours installing defense locations between the cities (in the cities it took some time but it was achieved in a much faster rate), however there was time. The rain and the difficult terrain would delay the Mexican troops a considerable time, and the main invasion force would most likely not arrive in a few days. Additionally to the mountain guns, mortars were brought along in order to increase the efficiency of the rural defense.

While the artillery units were being installed the army began to dig up trenches (technology passed down by the Spanish during the Peninsular War in 1809). Emphasis was put on the mountain defenses since these were very effective in those type of terrains. Near the borders adjacent to the cities, not only trenches were built but also defenses to the field guns- these defenses would increase the effectiveness of the cannons since the risk of losing them (or their operators) would decrease significantly.

Isthmus of Panama - 10:00 PM - 12:00 AM

As the rain showered the soldiers who were getting ready for the battle, General Ramirez looked at the map with his officers. General Ramirez ordered for the militias trained in the Panama to be deployed throughout the defenses. They were going to provide support to the defenses in the weak flanks and in the most strategic positions of the terrain in the border zone. The guerrilla forces hided in their positions and awaited for the beginning of the battle. Their guerrilla tactics have been brought from Spain (during the occupation of Napoleon), the Ottoman Empire (during various military exercises performed with that country in 1870), and from warfare experiences in the invasion and re-annexation of Venezuela. Along with native warfare tactics, these guerrilla tactics have been improved over time and adapted to their environments in order to make them very efficacious against the enemy.

After the defenses were ready, the General ordered that Panama City and Colon are evacuated (in the zones near the border) in order to make sure that civilian lives weren't lost. The rain still showered the region. As the night went by, the climate got chilly and chilly, but the temperature wasn't as cold as the fear felt in the environment. It was like the calm before the storm. As if the minutes before the storm were eternal and full of complete peace. War approached. No one knew when or where, but whatever came they were ready to defend themselves.

When the clock marked 12 O'clock, the General told his officer next-in-command, "It is time." The officer yelled, "Men! Ready..." A message was sent to the main defense points to be ready at 11:50 PM. To all defense points, the final decision would come in the form of fireworks. A few moments later, General Ramirez raised his hand high above. At the same time, his officer draw his sword and raised it high above. As soon as the General, the officer lowered his sword and yelled, "Fire!" The peaceful silence was interrupted. It was killed. The bombards and cannons began firing. At the same time, military red fireworks (with the Spider effect) were fired from the city. This was the signal. Suddenly from a few kilometers away (and also thanks to the sound of the first shots), other little villages (not the main defense points) fired red fireworks. What came next was the synchronized, unmistakable fire signal that traveled along the border up to Colon.

The artillery of the two cities kept firing after the first indirect fire was done. The other defenses stopped in order to keep its element of secrecy and surprise. In Panama City, especially, the firing could be heard up to the enemy city of Arraijan. Since the border between Panama City and Arraijan was mostly plain (except for Gulliard's Cut) and with jungle, the Colombian troops knew that this was one of the most exposed flanks, thus the firing kept. Cannons and mortars fired without stopping. Munitions were vast and more were coming from arsenals in nearby states, the General knew they could keep firing for days, but wanted to see any Mexican troops coming. He wanted to know what he was fighting against.

The first few shots consisted of indirect fire in order to mark down the angles (and other factors) of the shots for various distances. The fireworks told the militias to be alert of incoming enemies. The Gatling Guns and Gardner 2-barrel Machine Guns were ready to fire at the incoming enemies. The men in the trenches were ready to fire at the incoming enemies as well, munitions was brought and more rifles were given to the soldiers. The idea was that while the men in the trenches fire, the other who didn't have space in the front face of the trench to fire, would be loading more rifles and cartridges- this would create the effect of continuous fire. Snipers were put in the trenches (along with the other soldiers), in some trees and near the lakes (with various camouflage tactics taught by natives over the decades), and in the buildings of the outer zones of the cities.

Bogota - 12:00 AM

Sanz was interrupted by his assistant. He gave the king a telegram and said, "It has began." The King with a fear in his eyes looked at the telegram and sank in deep thought. After a few seconds of silence, the king broke the silence, "Andres, get the Chapel ready. I need to pray." The assistant didn't say anything, he just nodded and left. A few minutes later, the King walked into the Chapel; in there various aides were lighting the candles in complete silence. The King walked in and got to his knees. He began praying. The King battle once, but it was 40 years ago- he knew that warfare has gotten more violent and deadly since then.

From the Ministry of War and Defense, a telegram was sent to General Ramirez regarding the increment of the defensive force of the front. As soon as the General read the telegram, he was relived to know that the Colombian government trusted him once more. Once again, a Colombian flag was raised under his command. The test of fire that the General was waiting for, finally came. The future of Colombia lay on the General's shoulders.

Telegram from the Ministry of War and Defense:
To: General Ramirez

The Armed Forces of Colombia will aid you with the deployment of an additional 15,000 troops that shall be sent immediately to Panama City. These troops will be sent by train. Three deployments of 5,000 will arrive one after the other and will be under your command.

May God aid our cause.

The Ministry of War and Defense sent a message to the Colombian Navy to increase its protection of Colombian waters around the Isthmus of Panama. The ships were to remain in close communication with one another and with the Ministry of War and Defense. Naval artillery was also installed near the shores of Panama City and Colon in order to avoid an amphibious attack by Mexico. If an amphibious attack were to happen, the troops in the cities (not the troops at the borders) were instructed to defend them at all costs, and to immediately inform the Ministry of War and Defense.

Technical Sheet:

Troop Count:

Artillery Used:

Note: All armament was built within 10 years of the date, even when their designs date back various decades. Artillery Units which were designed before 1890 have been improved to withstand use in the humid climate of Colombia.

War of Panama

Postby Aldelxane » Sat Jan 11, 2014 9:11 am

Colombia/Peru-Mexico Border, Gulf of Panama
October 13th, 1901

The Northeastern fleet of 10 armored cruisers, 14 destroyers, 20 torpedo boats and 15 Ironclads, along with 7 auxiliary ships and 2 medical ships floated into position, approximately 1 mile from land.

A light breeze coming up from the south ruffled the sea, as each ship anchored itself into the sediment at the bottom of the sea. Signals began aboard the leading cruiser, commanding "All captains to report aboard the flagship".
Rear-Admiral Carter White addressed his captains at a circular table aboard the armored cruiser. Gentleman, publicly known, our orders are to keep the peace between Colombia-Peru and Mexico. However, under these orders here previously known only to me;", unfolding an envelope, "read: You are to defend Colombia-Peru against Mexican efforts by sea. All Mexican warships attempting to attack the fortified positions on the Isthmus of Panama are to be sunk. We are to defend the Colombia-Peruvian position from Mexican troops using the weaponry on our ships, but our orders expressly state that we are not to land any marines on the beaches. Those are our true orders, dismissed".

The ships continued to anchor off the coast, however the ships practiced gunnery by floating barrels in the bay, and shooting them weekly, and the marines trained using blanks every day. The light wind from the south remained virtually unchanged, but events at home streamed in via the wireless telegraph machine. The Northeastern States of America had officially declared war on Mexico, but would agree to go back to peace if Mexico broke off its invasion of Colombia-Peru. The navy continued to expand, and another warship was launched seemingly every week. The troops began to grow tired of the everyday routine of what was in essence a blockade, and many yearned for action.

Rear-Admiral Carter White too yearned for an action. A decisive victory against the Mexicans would mean promotion to Vice-Admiral or even Admiral, and he was almost sure of victory against the outdated forces that could be fielded by the Mexican navy. The boom of the marines training at marksmanship reminded him of the eminent possibility of battle, and less so the weekly target practice of the gunners.

Seemingly the entire Northeastern fleet awaited confrontation with worry and anticipation.

War of Panama

Postby Emilio Aguinaldo » Sun Jan 12, 2014 2:08 am

We are the lat ones that conquer. We are the first out of hell. We are the chariots burning in twilight. We are the fire that's burning this world. Through blood we march, in fire we dwell.

"Why do we even go to war? If I remember correctly, the emperor himself wanted unity among the Americas so why?" A young private asked his regimental commander.
"Boy, there are two reasons. It's either that Agustin thinks that unity can only be achieved by using blood and iron. Or, it's because we're the only ones that could, we're the only ones that're here to do it." The commander answered.
"But, why does it have to be us? Why do we have to shed our blood? Why do we have to die for unity?" He again asked.
"As I said before, we're the only ones that could, we're the only ones that're here to do it. Now, tidy up boy, we're going to march through the remainder of the day." The commander answered.
The army was forced marched through the remainder of the night. The sounds of the Colombian artillery roared whilst they marched. The newly recruited were visibly shaking, they were obviously afraid to die. The old guard didn't spoke a single word while marching for they know that dead men should not speak.

When dawn broke, the men have already setup a fort. Well, a palisaded tent-city thing and in the middle of that "fort" lies a large-ish structure where the generals planned their next moves. The three generals stood near a map and they argued on what was the best course of action at the time. "What if we sent the guerrillas firsst to flush them out then we advance slowly to the enemy positions?" Said by Francisco del Rosario. "No! That is a terrible idea. We can always advance slowly in the isthmus and dig ditches every few kilometers that we go through this land as a preemptive measure!" Argued Mondragon.
"Ditches? Sir, I respect your knowledge and age, but why ditches? Do we hope that the enemy will turn away from a long line that was dug up on the ground?"
"No, you fool. We're going to put our men in them and let them stand there while the enemy tries to advance."
"And what? Let their heads pop while they try to shoot back?"
"We can always put the soil on the ground in front of the ditch to make it more secure."
"So, 'great' General Mondragon, you forced us to cross the border just so that we will defend 5 meters of land? Then expect us to build a long ditch from one point of the isthmus to the other?"
"No, we make a line of them then station men and the MG's that we have till our reinforcements arrive."
"Sound like a wise plan, general Mondragon if I say so myself." Agustin interrupted the two. "By noon later, we start digging!"
When noon struck, the soldiers started digging and 'entrenched' themselves with their small arms, artillery, and maxim guns and wait for their reinforcements before they start moving.

2,500 Cavalry
1875 french artillery (I forgot the Mexican version name)

Isthmus of Panama

Panama City - 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Image
General Ramirez's second opportunity has arrived. A soldier came running into the room where the General and his officers were. The man was almost out of breath and heavily said, "Sir. Mexico. It is here." The General looked at the soldiers, his eyes were filled with fear; it seems as the General was awaiting for this opportunity yet wishing it to be delayed. But it was here. Colombia's future rested in the General's hands. After looking at the soldier for a few minutes, he looked at the Colombian flag flying proudly near the border. It is here. It is time. The General walked out of the room with his officers following behind. He draw his sword and yelled, "Attack! Attack! Let us die together as brothers!".

The officers in command of the Panama-City defense looked at the General, then yelled, "Fire!". Suddenly, the only sound, the falling of the rain, was killed and replaced by a booming sound. The defenses began firing the cannons and adjusted the angle based on the indirect fire from a few hours before. The projectiles engulfed by fire flew as if they were phoenixes, but their energetic fly was interrupted by Mexican uniforms. On the other side of the border, the enemy troops began to feel the first atrocities. Boom! Boom! The ground was bombarded by the shells of the artillery. Boom! Boom! The first victims of the war appeared lying on the ground. Boom! Boom! The inexperienced began to shake, afraid of battle, afraid of death.

As the Mexican troops moved forward, the bombardment intensified. To make matters worse, most of the Mexican troops weren't ready to fight in a rainy environment like that of Panama- marching for various hours under these conditions affected them greatly. Additionally, the Mexican soldiers arrived to a solid, organized defense system set up by Colombia that did not give even an inch of land to the Mexican advance. The Mexican troops that were rallied with the idea of being the most powerful in the continent faced an opponent that was decided to defend with blood its territory. When the Mexican troops were starting to adapt to the bombardment, the artillery switched their shells to canister shots; the death toll increased exponentially after that. The Mexican infantry wasn't falling by the dozens but by the hundreds, and their blind orders were their own death sentence.

When the Mexican troops arrived to their planned destination (to build what seems to be ditches) many soldiers had already retreated out of fear or pure devastation. The sight was out of reality if not, part of hell. Bodies laid on the wet, semi-flooded soil, some were dismembered and some laid in one piece. However, from all bodies, a continuous flow of blood ran into the semi-flooded soil. Suddenly, an officer in the trenches yelled, "Fire!" and the chaos was increased when the rapid-fire guns and machine guns began firing after the order was given. The bullets flew into the coming Mexican soldiers, demolishing entire lines in just a few seconds. The fortunate soldiers that arrived to the construction site of the ditches were killed either by the snipers or infantry in the trenches, or by the artillery, or by both. At this point, the sight was such that General Ramirez took a handkerchief out of his pocket and cover his nose and mouth. Even though no smell came from the battle field yet, the sight made the General imagine the smell of blood surrounding him. An officer next walked away and threw up in a can. The sight was nothing like ever seen before, but even though it was traumatizing to watch, it was even more impacting to be experiencing it first hand in the Mexican front.

Image

The General was still starring at the battlefield when he suddenly saw something coming to the battlefield. It caught his attention because of its unusual shape. It was artillery. Ramirez told his officers, "Artillery! Make the signal!". One officer looked at the General while he was giving the order, and immediately ran to a soldier standing a few meters away with a red flag. Afterwards, the soldier raised the flag pole and began to wave the flag from left to right. The snipers, hiding in the trees and nearby buildings, saw the signal. They immediately got into position.

Pedro Fuentes. That was his name, a young lad, who has witnessed 23 summers in all his life, aimed through the scope of his gun. He was nervous, it was his first time killing someone. He was hiding in one tall tree. His prey appeared on his scope not knowing of its destiny a few seconds later. Fuentes was able to see the insignia of the Mexican Army on the uniform of his prey. Suddenly, all sounds became irrelevant to Pedro Fuentes. All the cannons, bullets, guns, cries, all of them suddenly lowered; the only thing he could hear was the rain falling down and his heavy and synchronized breath. His breath was gone, the only thing that he could hear was the rain. His right index finger compressed the cold metal that it was hugging. Bam! The shot was released to attack its prey. The man was transported back into a few months earlier during his training session. "I don't understand why we have to do this. We will never kill anyone. We are useless." Pedro said. His captain responded, "You will kill someone when the time comes. Until that happens, you are still a child." The sniper was awaken from his memories when the bullet successfully hunted the prey. All sounds of war came back to his mind, he looked through the scope. His prey was slowly falling. He was finally a man. His prey, one of the soldiers in charge of one of the coming Mexican cannons.

Instantaneously, soldiers in charge of the cannons began to collapse. The snipers were purposely shooting the artillery soldiers on their abdomen so that they collapse but not die instantly. Instead, they will die on their partners' arms. The goal was to increase the psychological stress on every incoming soldier. Some soldiers were able to put the cannons into position but their efforts were fruitless because they were killed by the snipers, the artillery, or by infantry shooting at the incoming front. The few cannons who were able to be set up and shot were almost of no use- the rain made it difficult to aim and load the cannon, missing men (who fell by the bullets of the snipers) slowed down the loading process dramatically, and the incoming fire didn't give them time to aim correctly, just to shot and hope that they hit something. Unfortunately for them, the trenches kept most of the Colombian soldiers safe from death, a few were injured by the flying rocks when the shell hit its blind target. However, they were quickly sent to the military hospital in the city and replaced by other soldiers in the trenches.

Image

At noon, after seeing that the Mexican troops were able to hardly make some ditches where they were ordered to, General Ramirez approached the Officer in charge of the mortars. He looked at him and said, "It is time, officer." The officer nodded and walked up to the position in which he has chosen to command his men. He draw his sword and pointed it at the mortars; while doing that he said, "Alright men, I want every three mortars to use quicklime shells. The two in between will use percussion shells. I want them aimed at those ditches." The officer gave a few minutes to the men to get ready to shoot. Angles were based on the indirect fire made hours earlier. The officer after being told by his men that they were ready, raised his sword. "Fire!" He yelled and a second later, boom! The mortars began firing, their projectiles made the iconic high arc in the air. The explosive and quicklime shells missed the first few shots (hitting places behind the ditches and killing other incoming Mexican soldiers), however after a few minutes, the shells began to hit their intended target creating chaos and death in the ditches. Because of the rain, the quicklime became more effective and deadly since its chemical compounds reacts to water very violently. The officer ordered another additional five mortars to fire empty shells in order to increase the stress on the Mexican soldiers without actually wasting more munitions.

Bogota - 10:15 AM

A telegram came from Panama City informing the Ministry of War and Defense that the Mexican army was beginning its invasion. The Ministry sent a telegram informing General Ramirez that the reinforcements, sent hours earlier, were on their way to Panama City. One hour later, another secret telegram was sent to General Ramirez, this time, it came with directions of a tactical move planned by the high ranking officers of the Army in the Ministry. They believed that Colombia should not only defend but push back the Mexican forces from Panama City.

War of Europe

Postby Altito Asmoro » Mon Jan 13, 2014 4:49 am

Another front in the European theater is open now. 200,000 men, cavalry, and artillery are all under the command of Britain have been mobilized and have reach the land of Netherlands. As the treaty of alliance between the two countries are still intact, as well as the military access. No matter what will be the reactions of the Dutch government in the end, that will mean nothing if the Britain is successful in freeing the Austrian from the control of the Germans. General John Randall, an educated commander and skilled in the art of war, will lead the armies accompanied with officers as well.

In the matter of time, they will reach the border of Germany-Netherlands and then the war will be kicks off. The border is just kilometers away...

Meanwhile, in Bavaria
A couple hours before the break of dawn, in a cold officer military tent Gustav Drussenzer stood high above a map of the area, his subordinates looking on.
"Move the 1st and 3rd Divisions towards Linz, I will personally lead the 2nd Division southwest to Salzburg personally." he stated, now with many other Top ranking Generals, this may seem surprising, but not for Gustav Drussenzer that is for sure, he was renown across the Millitary for being a General would not expect others to do anything more then himself, often on marches rather then riding a horse he would march alongside the men or at the most snobby ride alongside the Calvary.

And at the rise of the shining sun, a bugle was sounded and with in 45 minutes the Divisions separated in two different directions.

Force attacking Linz

The Siege of Split

The warm morning rays were accompanied by heated battle. Artillery shells rained down upon the Austrian city of Split, similar to the actual rain which fell parallel. Hundreds of canons fired from dozens of ships, and dozens more ships carried soldiers, armed and ready to beach. Hundreds of sailors and soldiers loaded and unloaded giant artillery and fired them off. The ships that housed these big guns were arranged in a position to blockade the city.

Meanwhile, nearly 200,000 soldiers marched up the coast of Croatia to attack the city by land, from the South. These men had beached to the South, in an open area, nearly void of any life. The entire march was met with little resistance, as the road went through only small towns and communities, and most of the Austrian armies were occupied.

It was not a long or hard march. The Italian men walked in a large line, and soon the were just out of range of the city of Split. They knew that once they were in range to fire upon the city, the city's artillery could fire upon them. With this knowledge, the army began to surround the municipality. They would take any food they could and then pillage any nearby farms. They would also blockade any supply routes, completely cutting off the city. Trenches would be quickly dug along each road leading out of the city; the Italians were preparing a siege.

The Battle of Prato-Lienz

It was a cold day on the battlefield in the mountains. The constant, however slow, drip-drip-dripping of the rain on the helmets of the entrenched soldiers was one of the only sounds that rang in a large radius of the fight. Besides the rain and the cawing of the circling crows, hardly any noise could be heard. Hundreds of thousands of men sat and stood in their long trenches, but not one said a word. Not even the rustling of coats or the shuffling of feet could be heard. Though half a million guns sat loaded and pointed at the enemy, not one bullet was fired. On any other day, a fearless leader would give a speech, but not today. It was the calm before the storm.

The sky was gray, as gray as the Italian soldiers' uniforms. Thick brush and large, dying trees adorned the center of the battlefield, separating the opposing forces. Many black-feathered crows perched atop the wooded giants, and many more flew in circles in the gray sky. Many men were disheartened by the presence of the carrion birds. It was an omen, some said. And, though the men worried, they stood their ground, for they knew that many would die on this day in this place, but if they fought harder and shot straighter they could leave unscathed.

The trenches in which the men stood and sat were squeezed tightly in their fortifications. The 400,000 soldiers stood close together in their three trenches. They knew of the siege of Split, and worried for their friends and family members, as well as themselves. The Siege of Split involved an army, similarly large, attacking the Austrian Adriatic Coast. Another 400,000 soldiers would invade Croatia by boat. Meanwhile, the men in the valley of Prato-Lienz remained wary. Although the entrances to the trenches were almost completely blocked by the mountains, machine gun teams still manned them.

"Artillery, fire!" a commander yelled, and the battle was begun.

Thousands of ear-bursting booms began emanating from behind the Italian army's trenches. Bright flashes lightened the dark skies, and the sound of exploding shells and screaming men filled the valley, replacing the terrifying silence with terrifying noise. Hundreds of thousands of rifles began firing to and fro both armies. The stomping of running feet on the wooden boards that floored the trenches could not be heard over the sounds of war.

War of Panama

Postby Gibberan » Wed Jan 15, 2014 6:06 pm

Colombian-Peruvian Coast, January 5th 1902, Trans-Midwestern frigate MCS Black Hawk

Admiral Hanson looked through his binoculars at the Colombian-Peruvian shore. It looked so...peaceful, although this was obviously not the case. Completely shaken by Mexico's invasion of Panama, it was anything but stable. And this was why they were here.

And so, after negotiating an agreement with the Northeastern States of America, who was fighting against Mexico with Colombia-Peru, for safe passage to the Atlantic Ocean (with the exception of the Great Lakes, the Trans-Midwestern Confederation was completely landlocked), they had made the nearly month-long voyage the Colombia. Carrying 100 tons of weapons, tools and munitions, plus one disassembled but large military zeppelin, the transport ship, along with two others, laid their anchors off the coast. A longboat from the Black Hawk was sent out, they would get to the nearest telegram station and notify the Colombian military that the supplies had arrived. They could not risk going into a civilized port, or risk being caught by enemy intelligence. It was absolutely imperative that they stay 'neutral'.

Neutral, thought Hanson, sneering. They weren't really neutral, only pretending to be. Just because they weren't fighting with one particular side didn't mean they allied with one. This clandestine operation, and the ones that would surely follow it would, hopefully, secure the war for the beleaguered Colombia-Peru. Hopefully, it would stop the needless deaths of more soldiers and civilians on each side, and, hopefully, it would bring an end to any problems in the Americas.

And hopefully, they wouldn't get caught.

The artillery had been placed at a higher positions as well as the armies. Sandbags had been placed as light defense for the soldiers. It is not necessary, but still useful. BL 5.4-inch howitzer are the primary artillery engines that being used, alongside smaller Ordnance BL 15 pounder.

There are 25,000 cavalry and 250 artillery units accompanied the firsy wave of the front. The reserve will be use to reinforce the troops in the first wave. This front, hopefully will be able to defeat the Germans and give the Austrians the chance to drive the Germans out from Austria.

By the order of the commander, the artillery units fire their first shots to the Germans troops, sighted from afar by the scout.

ORBAT:

160,000 soldiers
25,000 cavalry
250 artillery units
Foreign mercenaries

War of NorthEastern Agression

Postby Paketo » Wed Jan 15, 2014 8:15 pm

Border of Delaware and maryland

there was a reason constant border patrols had been enacted for 2 weeks for 24 hours a day. War was bound to come with the NSA and the Confederate troops had to be ready for anything. Pvt. Sims was one of the men on patrol tonight. they had been ordered to not use lanterns as to not alert anyone of their presence. He looked through his spyglass and saw several figures in the moonlight with weapons before handing it to the private next to him. he pointed in the direction and the other private confirmed he saw the same thing, "The North Easterners were invading" they both though at seeing the figures in the moonlight. The two took off to the nearest bunker where they informed them of the enemy and then on to the fort. the Bunkler consisted of three different sections each had a machine gun in the front and back but the left and right bunker each had a side machine gun as well. each part was connexted by a concrete tunnel with the only entrancce in the rear of the center part. As the guerilla's moved closer and closer, the darkness masked the bunker until they opened fire. bullets shot out of the guns heading straight got the enemy killing many who were hit. the 20 men in the bunker shoot with richmond rifles if they weren't on the machine guns.

Near the Confederate Bunker:

As the gunshots cracked out, killing the two guerillas in the clearing, hundreds of ears perked up at the sound of the gunfire, which rippled through the near silent woods. The guerillas coalesced around Captain Green, leader of the nearest 200 man company of guerillas. 200 eyes looked expectantly at the Captain, and eventually a Lieutenant piped up, "Shall we investigate sir?" Green replied, "Send a man in to see what the trouble is".

Private Smith crawled along the forest floor up to the edge of the clearing, scuffing the dirt and dust, and and peeping through a bush with a spyglass. He saw the muzzles of the machine guns in the moonlight, and then glanced over to his two comrades, dead on the forest floor in puddles of blood. He quickly snuck back to the Captain to report what he had seen.

"It's quite obviously a Confederate bunker. Leave no evidence of the dead men's existence, we can't have any of their possessions falling into enemy hands. I order you to throw a grenade at the corpses, as a cremation if you will. After you return, we will separate into teams of 20 and scour the woods for remaining bunkers. Where their's one, their's more, and we don't want any more mishaps. Do not enter any clearing you approach, and beware of rock-like structures. Report back to me if you discover anything else. In the meantime, I want Sergeant Williamson and his squad to watch the bunker, and tell me if the enemy makes any movements. Sergeant Miller, take your squad back to the column of regulars and tell the commander that I asked for a team of men with a mortar to be sent out here."

The Germans will not remain in firing range of the Artillery, they will take position at some high ground 8,200 yards away. the Artillery Guns will take position on the high ground on there side of the field, while the Infantry will dig them selves in with there entrenching shovels.

The 7.7 cm FK 96 has a advantage over the British in that they have a much longer range, with the British guns having a range of 6,000 Yards and the German Guns having a range of 9,000 yards.

The Artillery guns will unleash fire down on the enemy Artillery and Calvary, to give the Infantry time to dig themselves in. Meanwhile, the Calvary will set themselves up in two position, to the right of the German position and directly in front of the Infantry. This positioning will allow for the fallowing:
1. Cut down on numbers of enemy Artillery and Calvary.
2. Force British artillery to advance and come down from the high ground.
3. Supply time to the German Infantry so they can dig them selves in.
4. Lighten any Calvary charge made by the British.

War of North-Eastern Agression

Postby Paketo » Sat Jan 18, 2014 11:17 am

The men continued firing into the forest illumating the forest before a explosion took place to the place where the figures were seen. The explosion created a fire that ignited a bush but the fire was unable to spread due to it being away from the trees and surronded by dirt not grass. Pvt. Gale was one of the men in the bunker as he watched the flames, he was sure he saw 2 men but Sgt. Clark shook it off as they were spooked and fired when they saw a shadow of a animal when Gale spoke up. "we must have hit a pipe or barrel or something. i will put in the message to the fort that we will need a team out here for repair possibly" said Sgt. Clark but added after looking at the jumpy men "I will also send a message to the other bunkers to be safe though. that could have been the enemy". Most of the men gave a sigh of relief that they would not be alone if it was a enemy attack. this was only one bunker and it could be cut off pretty easily. WIP

Panama War

Postby Emilio Aguinaldo » Sun Jan 19, 2014 10:14 am

The Mexicans have deeply underestimated their enemy. They realized that the fight for Panama would be hard, long (giggity) and bloody (ew) they also realized that if they do not take Panama city quickly, reinforcements would come and it will impossible to break their defenses. The Mexicans then started a creeping barrage against the enemy in hopes that it will soften up their defenses. Then, during the breaks of the artillery, the Maxim gunners did a version of an indirect fire. When they were doing well the enemy snipers started to pick off the artillerymen. One by one they suddenly fell, medics desperately tried to keep them alive while the others tried pulling them away from the line of fire only to be shot down themselves by the snipers. When the men of Mondragon arrived to the battlefield they immediately started by helping the wounded out of the small ditches and back towards the deeper ones. The others tried to counter the snipers by trying to fire where they think the snipers are. The firing of the maxim guns and the artillery continued into the night.

The Chicagoan Convoy took most of the small city's port facilities. In fact, only four of the destroyers could be berthed at once. The men were given small amounts of leave, while the convoy halted in order to regroup and wait for the lagging auxiliaries and battleship CNSS Hamilton. The ships were but a days away and would not head for Grimsby, but straight for the intended target, Bremerhaven. The berthed ships would be leaving at dawn to join them, and attack Bremerhaven. It was a risky move, but the Army Command was banking on most of the German Army and Navy being preoccupied elsewhere.

Land Preparations
When news broke that a Chicago Naval Fleet was on its way to the Bremhaven area, immeditally preperations would be made. Draft letters were sent, Police Departments were issued rifles and put under extra battle training, and the citizenry was notified. In Bremerhaven, a CP was set up, Prince Henry of Prussia, Wilhelms younger brother who was also a excellent Naval mind was sent there to command the naval forces while General Hans Schmidt, a lesser known General to lead the land forces.
Hans stood above some a list of soldiers that were available.

10,000 Soldiers from the Prussian Army
8,000 Ex Regular Soldiers
30,000 Ex-Millita from the area
7,000 Police Officers and Ex-Police Officers from the Hamburg-Bremen-Bremhaven area

10,000 Horses

80 7.7 cm FK 96 n.A.

The land force will immediately begin digging themselves in on two sides of the Wesser River mouth, so any hostile fleet going to land in Bremhaven will take fire from two sides. Sandbags and stone will be set and trenches dug in, to provide optimal security to take out any landing force or to take out hostile ships.

Naval Prep
Meanwhile, Prince Henry boarded the SMS Wettin, he would then look over a list of ships at his command, it would be the North Western German Fleet. consisting of.

3 Battleships
15 Destroyers
3 Light Cruisers
4 Cruisers

The fleet will set sail from Hamburg and Bremhaven harbors, before rendezvousing near Heligoland island, and then would begin to hold in that area, waiting for the Chicagoan fleet to arrive, were it would face certain doom, and in the morning, the flag will still be there, shining over the city of Bremhaven, no matter how close to certain death they might come, they will preserve the great lands of Germany, against the warmongering coalition set bent on destroying what Germany has worked so hard for, what Germany has spilled her own Blood,Sweat and Tears for, and the symbol of all that, its great high flying flag of Black,White and Red will continue flying over Bremhaven, no matter the artillery guns it faces, no matter what it faces it will stand, and Germany as a whole will stand, no land witch rightfully belongs to our nation, will be allowed to be conquered by the Barbarians who seek to defeat this great nation.

Caldwell, Republic of Idaho
Pacific Reclamation Settlement

The Pacific Expeditionary Force

Gabriel Dumont was a very Tall, surely and beaded man. He was the General of the First Pacific Army and was of Louis Riel's most trusted advisers. He had rescued the Metis leader from the Americans during the war of Independence where the Metis secured their homeland. Dumont was a hardened veteran and had fought numerous battles as a skirmisher and held off vastly superior armies of the Union at Batoche and Battle of Fish creek. Gabriel lead a force of nearly 5000 professional soldiers and he had been replenished with a force of nearly 4500 Cree warriors, 1500 Assiniboine warriors, 750 men from the Bear clan. He was a first nations man himself and with his supported of Louis Riel, he was able to freely command both armies and of the Native coalition that supported the Pacific Republic. The Republic of Idaho had heard of the intentions of the Pacific Union and marched an force of nearly 9500 men towards Caldwell to escort them and if necessity to use deadly force to rid them. Sovereign ties between both nations were at an all time low as the Pacific Union needed to expand and exert its dominance over its neighbors.

Caldwell was a trading post, just outside of Nampa which was the regional hub and a city strong hold since it over looked the hills of Boise and one of the few areas that horses could trail easily. The Natives also managed to ask for support from the Arrowrock natives who were beleaguered by Idahon Republic and were promised wealth and freedom if they assisted the Pacific Union's war of Reclamation. The Pacific Army decided it would intercept the Idahoans at Deer Flat Wetlands where their rank and fire formations would be exposed and the pacific union would fleet of foot across the outskirts at night to surprise the enemy and engage them openly before springing a trap at the wetlands where the Arrowrock men would emerge from the wetlands and smash their rear.

The Pacific Army was 5000 men, of 4500 where infantry and 500 men were of heavy dragoons fashioned European style with 15 Heavy guns, mostly demi-cannons and Saks fifteen pounders while 6750 men were of natives of light infantry, mostly skirmishers which were that were armed with shotguns and rifles and sharpshooters with grenades and also the Arrowrock men were camped out in the marshes and nearly numbered 900 men and the Pacific Army was going maneuver the 500 Dragoons and 1000 men under the command of Wilds.P Richardson and with 3750 soldiers of the mixed coalition of natives to the wetlands to prepare a massive double envelopment of Idahoans.

The First army was commanded by General Dumount and had 4000 regular soldiers and 3000 natives which formed a skirmisher frontier line with cannons. The Pacific Soldiers wedged themselves with a mountain pass and the marsh lands to their flank while they set up their cannons.

This posed a very lucrative target for the Idaho soldiers which numbered 9500 and had 26 cannons and they seemed to completely overwhelm the Pacific Force and they decided to match them at the battle of their choosing and quickly wrap this up.

Gabriel Dumount's men were entrenched and dug themselves in quick trench lines and positioned themselves on the high ground since they deployed first and appeared to be very focused and motivated. His goal was to make the Idahoans fully commit their forces and extend themselves by throwing in the reserves then when his men were against him, then he would signal the reserve to assault from the Marshes.

The Pacific Solders set up their heavy machine guns on the upper points of the hills overlooking their men to provide massive amounts of cover and fire power while their heavy artillery would smash the front-lines.

The Native soldiers were going to lie down then engage the Idahos and keep firing and falling back, softening up the line infantry of before rejoining the trenches of the regular army where they would double their power and defensive power and the machine guns and artillery would reap across the front-line.

Battle of Nampa, Idaho

This was the largest battle in Western portion of the North America since the civil war.

The Idahos committed precisely to plan and did the standard front line march of line infantry, militia and veterans in reserve in the rear while Calvary took the left flank. The Pacific soldiers engaged them with light skirmishers. The native soldiers opened up cutting down the Idahos while heavy artillery raked both front lines on each side. It was going to be a bloody day. Idaho committed the bulk of their army against the Pacific Union to end this madness once and for all and this victory would easily met the Republic was ripe to be taken.

The Skirmishers spent nearly a hour advancing, firing, falling back to reload then falling back section by section. One rank would open up, then run back to the second line to reload while the second rank got up and fired and after the first exchanges, the Idahan forces had no time to reload and to march to face the Pacific soldiers while soaking up loses.

The Heavy artillery purchased by Chicago provided to be efficient as it cut down and suppressed entire regiments as Idahan forces were surprised at these new weapons of War.

It took a hour before the main armies would face each other and the Pacific soldiers in hastily made trenches opened up repeating rifles and rifles in massive volleys that cut down the beleaguered Idahoans. The Machine guns began to show their true form as over 50 machine guns now began to chew down the Idahan soldiers which were begin put to the sword.

It was nearly three fours when they reached nearly 30% loses and the machine guns completely pinned down and cut down the soldiers. The Pacific front line advanced under fire and began to engage them head on as the Reserve force in the marshes got the word to advance and from mid afternoon the bulk of the Pacific force emerged. Nearly 5000 men emerged and smashed into the right flank of the army which comprised of hastily put together militia. They were armed with their personal weapons, shotguns, revolvers, flintlocks and were quickly overwhelmed and engaged in deep hand to hand combat where the Pacific soldiers entered into blood frenzies.

Brandishing Mohawks, bayonets an grenades it was a pure bloodbath where the 1500 militia were completely beleaguered and overwhelmed and they were enforced by the 2500 Veteran reserve force and General William Shaw who committed himself and his bodyguard to hold the line.

With the sight of their rearguard completely trashed, the Idahoan soldiers began to turn and flee to escape the carnage and thats when the machine guns raked most of their kills when the Idahoans fled the combat and they exposed themselves and made themselves ripe targets for the gun crews who took more mercy and gunned them down.

Gabriel Dumount then ordered his men to advance and smash the routing force then engage the Veterans who know put up a last stand.

This was going to be the final battle of First army of idaho and with General Shaw shot mortally wounded by fire. It was clear the day was won and the Pacific forces began to mop up and confiscate all the goods and cannons and rounded up any survivors.

It was a glorious day and the machine gun proved it was worth. The battle was won even before the reserve force smashed the Idahoans and now the machine gun proved to be a weapon of mass destruction.

Summary of Battle;

Pacific Union: 1255 KIA, 1450 WIA, 4 MIA
Republic of Idaho: 3450 KIA (+650 MILTIA), 2700 WIA, 155 MIA, 4045 Surrendered and Captured

The Pacific Army had utterly crippled and smash the opposing army with relative light causalities they took Nampa city and Boise the capital and used it to house the wounded and captured. The Arrowrock Natives were given control of the city and assumed responsibility while Dumount left 1000 Men and he had a force of nearly 1000 with light casualties which could be fighting fit in month or less to keep their rearguard open.

He then proceeded to march towards Idaho falls through the Saw forest to smash the last bastion of resistance which was under General Howard Greene at Amassed at Pocatello and Idaho falls however he didn't realize that his natives which were Blackfoot Clan were intending to back-stab them at the final battle and deliver Dumount a very tasty victory.

Second Pacific Army,
Under Command of General Jacques Riel

At C'eur D'Alene the Second Pacific Army under Louis Riel's son; Jacques Riel had moved and quickly captured the small town without ease or much of a fight. His force was nearly 6500 strong and comprised of alot of the hardened veterans of the Civil war. He had a force of 2500 natives and intended to meet up with the Flathead Clan and capture Kalispeli which was mostly under native control and use them as a key contingent of his force.

The Montanans amassed their froce at Helena and Billings but it woud take a week or so to march towards the Pacific forces who intended on taking Missoula.

Battle of Missoula, Republic of Montana

The Pacific army encircled the town and began to bombard the city with massive amount of heavy artillery which smashed the key defensive. The New weapons from Chicago were deadly and accurate and the Montanans had formed up a defensive line which was rank and file and was quickly swept aside by absorbing nearly an hour of prolonged and intense artillery fire.

The Pacific soldiers then commuted themselves by skirmishing and mopping up the defensive militia who made a stand to show their resolve but were quickly disposed of and the city fell quickly.

Summary of Battle;

Pacific Union: 15 KIA, 37 WIA,
Republic of Montana: 57 KIA, 519 WIA, 950 Captured

With the fall of the first key and strategic city. General Riel decided to consolidate and dig in and they would face the Montanan counter attack with their backs to the river and completely dig in and use their machine guns.

Dumount had telegram med their success utilizing these machine guns and he knew that Montanans would amass a force nearly ten thousand strong to throw them back and he would face it, completely ready.

ACR-2 London
100 kilometers north of Borkum, United Provinces

General Prescott and his men sat in the wardroom of the cruiser London. The General and his officers, well two thirds of his officers, as 1/3 of the Army was still in Michigan, were preparing the final mission. Landing orders were being drawn up, logistics handled. The flotilla had eight destroyers, four cruisers, and a battleship for a combat force. They were all top of the line ships, no more than ten years since commission and five since retrofitting. They would need to hold off the high Seas Fleet, a heavy task. The men were planning the objectives for the first day when Admiral Kane and the Army Legal Liaison officer and Naval Legal Liaison Officer strode in. Admiral Kane held in his grasp two manila envelopes, one marked for the Navy and one for the Army. The naval envelope was already opened. Kane passed the envelope on to Prescott who opened it and took out a sheaf of papers marked OPERATION NORDIC FEINT and OPERATION NORDIC FIRE. Prescott previewed the papers in silence for several minutes before turning to his Legal Liaison.

“Is this valid?”

“Yes General. Only I and the Naval Liaison knew that OPERATION NORDIC THRUST was a part of NORDIC FEINT. The purpose of Nordic Feint was to control the outflow of operational information. We could not risk the true location of our strikes being known. Admiral Kane was just informed earlier. And if the knowledge of out location did leak, the false location is of such importance that the Germans will strip forces from other areas to defend it. Including our true targets.”

A Brigadier spoke, asking, “And where might our real targets be?”

Prescott replied, “We are taking Dornum. It is a small port town with adequate harbor facilities for landing troops. Kane has already turned course for Dornum. We will arrive within five hours. Ready the men for the landings.”
I'm really tired

German Fleet:
3 Battleships
15 Destroyers
3 Light Cruisers
4 Cruisers

A patrolling destroyer sighted the incoming Chicago fleet, immediately the ships captain ordered for wireless telegraphs to be sent to the rest of the fleet, and the fleet would begin rendezvousing with the patrol destroyer, witch had since moved back to Heligoland island. And with that the fleet set off without a minute to spare.

Once the enemy ships were in range, the three Battleships would open up the guns at once, soon being joined in the firing by the rest of the fleet. The single Enemy Battleship would be targeted by our three Battleships. While the Destroyers will be tasked with knocking out the enemy transport ships, witch will be a easy task because obviously transport ships are usually lightly armed and lightly armored. The cruisers will not taret any ship class in perticular, but will heavily bombard the Chicago destroyers.

The Chicago fleet would likely be utterly destroyed, going up against a much, much larger force. It was outnumbered in almost every aspect.

Inside the Bridge of the SMS Wettin
Prince Henry was looking over a map of the fleets situation, witch was constantly being updated, when one of his advisers came sprinting in
"Your majesty, great Prince Henry. Its believed the enemies target may not be Bremhaven, they may be attacking the villages near Essen." Prince Henry stood still for a long while before breaking out in laughter.
"Why, those blokes over yonder must be insane, why, you cant land a giant transport ship there, the water is way to shallow, they will run themselves into a crash. Alright, thank you."

Wadden Sea
ACR-2 London

The sighting of the German destroyer, and it's immediate turnabout had left no doubt in Kane's mind that they were spotted. Which was an unwanted development. The Chicagoan flotilla was not too far, relatively, from the High Seas Fleet base at Bremerhaven, and a German response would not be long off. Sure, the laurentine ships could offload their men before a German response arrived, but then both the combat ships and transports would be slaughtered. The army would be cut off and forced to live off the land , something increasingly difficult in this day and age. Yet, the had a mission to complete, and running back to England with their tail between their legs simply would not do. So Kane decided to do something never advised upon when your forces were outnumbered. He divided them up into two Task Forces.

Task Force Nettle was composed of all the the transports, the battleship CNSS London and all the cruisers. They would sail for the Netherlands at full speed. In order to gain access to ports, the Chicagoan ships flew a Union Jack under their Lake Star. This symbolized that the ships were part of the British Hierarchy, a legal stretch, but not one that the British were apt to deny. With reports of how fighting was going in Germany, they needed more men and material. The ships headed at full speed, averaging a respectable 26 miles per hour. They expected to be in United Provincial Seas in a less than two hours. From there, they would offload men and material in peace. Then, the Army of Michigan would move to support the British Army in Germany.

Task Force Gnat was composed of the eight destroyers of the flotilla. These were the scouts and skirmishers of any navy. They had been tasked with two missions. The first was to unload their expanded marine complements at Dornumersiel. There were 800 men in this battalion, much more than normal complement, yet not enough to overburden the craft for a short jaunt. Heading at just over normal cruising speed, some 32 miles per hour, the destroyers headed for the village. With their low draft and small composition, they would have no issue navigating the river mouth and port. After offloading the men, the destroyers would play cat and mouse in the river and tidal flats along the coast, bombarding here, sinking there, appearing over there.

Hamilton, The Chicago Union

The newly arrived Chilean soldiers were divided into companies and sent to flesh out the remaining third of the Army of Michigan. They began to receive training and use in Chicagoan tactics and weapons. The 1,000 men of the first two groups had already arrived and were spread out in 100 groups of ten man squads. This was to maximize immersion into Chicagaon Warfare. The officers were assigned to their Unionist counterparts, as to learn the strategic value of the weapons.

45 ships of the British Fleet had been mobilized to reinforced the Chicago Navy:

4 Battleships
17 Armored Cruisers
15 Destroyers
9 Cruisers

These ships will be led by Admiral Hanston, a graduate from British Royal Navy Academy and a veteran of naval warfare.

In the meantime, the army in the land had been given the order to move forward, with the artillery being ordered to move closer to reach the German soldiers.

Fallowing the British advance into the German border, shelling would begin on the Tommys. Shrapnel shots will be fired as rapidly as possible fallowed with explosive rounds once the batteries run out of shrapnel shots to fire. The Cavalry will move out of the center, forming half of it on one side and half on the other. These Calvary units are among the most well known of Calvary units in the Army, one of the units famous for there role 4 years ago in putting down a small Communist rebellion of shepherds on the West Falkland Island. Each soldier is armed with a Mauser Carbine with Bayonet and a C96 pistol.

Meanwhile, the Infantry will continue to dig its self in, anti Calvary stakes will be set directly in front of the first line of trenches and a few sandbags will be set in front. Also, the General and his staff will walk down into the trench's and work to set the fortifications, before going around to the units giving a inspiring speech
"Men, look yonder over there. What do you see? I know what you see, you see a army of barbarians, you see pigs...pigs who seek to steal what Germany has earned. But no, they cant do it. Because they have a Army of strong...hardworking men in between them and Germany. That is you, when I look out upon these trenches, I am humbled to see such a magnificent force of people, so proud of what there country is, what there country has accomplished. Your going to accomplish alot here today, your going to set the future of a nation. And I know, you wont let that nation down. Remember, through strength and courage, we prevail. God with us!"

Overall, this was turning out well for the Austrians because German artillery had a high ground over the British artillery, and the Brits had no entrenchments since they advanced.

The units will disperse into individual Battalions, with each battalion being given one KO-4 and one 7.7 cm FK 96 n.A. batterie each, the Calvary will fallow the Western units, and set up in a field approaching down into the city. The calvary will receive same armament as troops elsewhere small arms wise.

Once the city is fully encircled, bombardment will begin, shrapnel being constantly and rapidly shot into the city.

The same thing as what happened in Linz will go down, the Army will seperate into smaller units before encircling the city and bombarding it from various positions. However, given the situation being bad in Salzburg, Munich will send a Brigade of Calvary, who will keep up a good pace all the way to Salzburg, but not too fast in order to keep the horses as fresh as possible. This will happen as 10 K04 cannons fallow shortly behind to Salzburg.

The 800 Great Lake Marines will face a force massivley outgunning and outnumbering them. As soon as word came that there would be a landing in the Dornum area, the Three Marine Battalions based in Wilhelmshaven would advance to take position , while rallying as many local gun owners who would volunteer to the fight, making for a 4,000 man and woman defense force vs. a 800 man landing force.

The Marines would set up in three positions. Sea Battalion #1 would take positions at a large farm half a kilometer west of Westercumersiel. While this is happening Seebataillon#2 will hold up at the village of Norden, and finnally Sea Battalion #3 along with the local militia will set up just in front of Essen.

200 Calvary Soldiers along with 5 Krupp Guns would board a Gazelle Class Cruiser and set sail for Tristan de Cunha Island, they will arive in about 4 days and once there, will land on the island and march into the small village, put down any resistance before taking up position on a camp close to the village after planting the flag of the German Empire before further orders will be given.
