American Civil War [MT/ IC]

Postby American Civil War RP » Fri Jan 10, 2014 3:59 pm

“If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace.”

Tom Paine

Welcome to the American Civil War, no not the historical one but the one that has yet to occur. At least, it has yet to occur if you are living in 2014; from an non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint where time is not linear but a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff this has already happened in the year 2028.

So what has happened since 2013 to 2028? Well, I am not supposed to tell you this since foreknowledge is considered dangerous but in extreme circumstances on need to know basis to complete your mission of completing this RP, exceptions can be made. United States didn't change much till the elections of 2016. President Obama continued on his second term as president and due to lack of corporation between the president and the senate, not much changes and economy keeps going near destruction point through credit limits and political parties dance around before agreeing a midnight deal.

In 2016 elections, the people of America voted for democrat candidate named Omar who was to put simply a political mastermind. Now, a lot changed but in quick summary the land of free has been transformed under the President to a one party toleration dictatorship where all other parties have been banned, those who oppose the president are deemed enemies of the state and seem to vanish and the state rights have been curved to non existence especially as the governors are appointed by President personally.

However American people, atleast certain segments of thereof have had enough when he managed to repeal the ammendment allowing only two terms and got elected for third term. 2028, is the year when everything changes. Spark has been lit and fire is catching in the land of liberty.

So what is your part? Using our biochemical, neural interface you will be able to take control of one of the key figures in the world; let it be a disgruntled USA army general, leader of revolution in USA, President Omar, or leadership of any other nations. You will attempt to engineer the situation to get your goals; be it independence, insurrection or economic advantages.

Essentially, you will be able to take control of one state in USA or a foreign nation and RP through the US civil war which occurs in 2028.

Rules and Regulations

1) Trolling, flaming, flame-baiting, or excessive/vulgar argument of any kind is not permitted.
2) You may only select one state at beginning.
3) God-modding, meta-gaming, and other means of gaining unfair advantages over other players is not permitted.
4) Be prepared to be defeated. It will be possible to lose your entire nation/ state; you will be permitted to re-roll if you are defeated.
5) All additional rules and decrees handed out by us are to be followed to the letter.
6) Credit for the idea goes to The Gulf Empire.
7) Use of nukes will be stopped by The Doctor. You can threaten its use, you can even launch nukes but they will always miss, misfire or one of million other things will happen that means no one is harmed.

New rules to improve quality of IC posts
1. Every post must be one paragraph or it is instant boot. Paragraph is defined as 10 lines.
2. There is sole exception to rule number one. If you are in a meeting with another player; although I recommend using TG for that and posting one large post spanning the entire meeting.
3. Logistics is a must. Moving troops massive distance will cost massive amounts of money and resources and time. If it is through sea, you need transport capacity. For every soldier you send to battlefield, there needs to be ten troops behind the desk ensuring that soldier is getting ammunitions, rations, repair, R&R etc. Fail to do this and your troops morale will drop. You may decide not to give your troops any of this but that will be reflected either by yourself by OP action. Your troops will surrender, your troops will run, your troops will commit suicide if you dont keep logistics in mind.
4. Trying to move troops through sea without having capacity to do so gets you a warning. Three and you are out.
5. Controlling other person's troops seems to be being a big thing so, every time you do this and the actual player complains you get a warning. Two and you are out.
6. Domestic support. Unless you take active effort to suppress domestic opposition, you need this. Push the people too far and you will get a popular revolution and I will make certain of that. If there is a revolution in this way (by OP action), you will loose the country.

Note: You can not start out as independent state or as governor of state. You must have atleast three posts detailing the rebellion and establishment of new government.

Washington DC
President Omar sat in his oval office, looking at the informations from every state as it appeared on his holographic display. The public loyalties, the loyalties of the governor. Every thing seemed to be going well, except for few isolated incidents of public outbursts occurring in few states of course however they were contained and those involved were educated to be positive and contributing member of the society instead of a disruptive one. For this administration, education of the public is of paramount importance, he thought as he wriggled it down on one of his diaries, that will serve to justify increase in black budget next year.

However, there was something wrong. A sense of unease, gut instinct as it were which told him everything was not right. Something was wrong, as he tapped one of the tabs on holographic display patching him through to Marshal as he spoke "fortify these positions" transmitting him the list of states (shown above in dark blue) as he continued "in case there are troubles". Marshal accepted the orders without questions; as he should.

Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff is disgusted by Omar's actions. She has plans for the rebelling states to help them defeat Omar. She has the army size brought to 0.008% of the population bringing it to 1,589,600 troops. She says it is "For protection and security from Omar's hate filled regime." She also is prepared to bring the draft to 1.5% of the population If Omar gets anymore "out of hand."

The (Future) State of Georgia
"HE'S DOING WHAT?" screamed out one of the men in the "Panic Room" of the Georgian Governor's Mansion.
"Yes, all indications that we can get from the government is that they are planning on 're-educating' millions, mostly in the states that have had 'dramatic upsurges in disloyalty,' which would be our state as well." said another man in the room, this time with a more gruff tone and a stronger southern accent.
All of the men in this "Panic Room" were plotting. Plotting for Georgia's independence. They had began to tally up the figures for how many in the Armed Forces they would lose when Georgia broke away, which they pegged at an optimistic 50%. They would still control actual assets, including vehicles and ships, but without trained men to actually use these vehicles and ships, they would be huge piles of scrap metal waiting to happen. The men that would stay would mostly be National Guardsmen, known for their elan but not much else. They would be able to operate most of the equipment, but this would be no real replacement to skilled crews, crews that had seen combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. Many would also sign up in the state's military after the break off, but the flow of volunteers would cut off as soon as the body bags started coming back, so they had to consider the fact that they needed to continue and call upon the Selective Service in the state.

They did, however, have one guarantee. After a private meeting with each of the crews of the ballistic missile submarines moored in Georgian harbors and convincing them of the righteousness of their cause, they were guaranteed that Georgia would have a few nuclear missiles to throw at Washington if things failed completely at home, and a few ships to secure the coast from incursion. With this in mind, they were emboldened, and their plotting had progressed to this point. Other assurances were that Georgia would be able to sustain itself with no food imports when they broke away, and that a few in the international community would support their cause, most notably, they hoped, Canada or Russia.

And so the plot progressed further. The method of independence would be the same as before, secession, but this time, the state would be fighting for the right side. And they would not fire on any who declared their allegiance to the US, those it was known that few civilians ever truly loved the state, even fewer in the military high command in the state. If the US attacked the newly independent state, it would surely, truly galvanize the international community to move against the oppressive regime, hopefully with sanctions first and a full intervention later on. But that was all in the future, and in the present, they needed to plan a war.
AH, PMT, some FT.

Your test scores indicate that you are an open-minded ultra-progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a journalist. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a generally optimistic attitude towards humanity in general.
Your attitudes towards economics appear neither committedly capitalist nor socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a liberal.
To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a considerate idealistic egalitarian with many strong convictions.

Stratosphere Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada
From the real leather of the chairs, to the expensive drinks in the hands of those who sat at the table, to the people themselves, all dressed in suits of the finest silk, it all spoke to the wealth of those who planned to rebel. At the front was the person who called the meeting, an old casino tycoon, his suit was brown, and he had a hat that looked akin to that of a cowboy. To his left was the youngest person there, 18 in a few weeks, he wore a double breasted suit along with a gold monocle in his right eye. To the other side of the old board leader was a middle aged woman who ran the main gold and silver mining company in Nevada, wearing a black suit and matching trousers. The four other members of the assembly wielded less power, and were there to just solidify the board's control of everything from the casinos, to electricity production, water, and arms manufacturing.

The man at the head of the board spoke first "Good day ladies and gentlemen, I have called you here today because you are the wealthiest and most powerful people in this state." he took a moment to sip at his bourbon before continuing "We all have a problem here, and that problem is the man that goes by the name of Omar Wilson, though I will refuse to use the title President. He is draining the wealth from us, and 'redistributing' it to himself, his friends, and those who do not produce." the young man next to him nodded slightly and sipped his glass of wine "We are aware that what we proposing is treason, however, Omar will have us killed if we do not cooperate with him, and like Hitler, he will turn on us even if we are loyal." there was a slow murmur in the room before one of the other four stood "How do you propose we remove this problem? We are only seven people." the leader of the board looked like he was about to talk when the young man to his left nearly jumped to his feet with excitement "Mercenaries! We make the poor fight for our freedom, we could probably even make them think it would benefit them so they fight for even cheaper!" the 'Chairman' at the head of the table nodded calmly adding "And we have tanks already." which the young man echoed "And we have ta- Wait, we have tanks?" the Chairman nodded as the woman spoke next to him "Yes, as I understand you have quite a large collection Mr. Lucido." the young man's face became slightly pale and his voice went up an octave "My tanks? They are collectable, and antiques. I mean, the M1 has more armour than my Maus, and, and, and... They were all fricken expensive!" he was overruled "You will be compensated for the loss of your tanks, cost plus five percent." the woman nodded slightly and the other members of the board all nodded slowly. The vote was called, seven to zero in favor of secession from the United States.

Private residence of Mr. Lucido, Near Hawthorn, Nevada
Four days later

The Chairman, Mr. Witt walked slowly behind Lucido was the young man inspected the work of teams of engineers who were rearming the main guns on his collection of historic war vehicles. He groaned slightly "No, not the Chi-Nu." looking up at the chairman who grunted slightly "We need them all Lucido, even your fancy Chinese one." the young man kept walking as he crossed his arms and murmured "Its Japanese." the Chairman followed closely and asked "How is ammunition production going for them?" Lucido laughed slightly, before realizing the old man was serious and furrowed his right brow even more than he needed to for his monocle "I build weapons, that is my business Mr. Witt. I may have gotten my company from my parents, but I still know a thing or two. As far as the US government is concerned, I am simply having a bad month in shell production for their tanks, more being defective than usual." he shrugged slightly "I have a plan for attack if you would like." the old man nodded slightly and followed his young counterpart, looking over his massive collection once more before leaving the massive storage facility.

When they arrived in the much cooler underground building that served as Lucido's house the chairman looked more uncomfortable than when he was in the heat. A pair of soldiers stood guard just inside, both brandishing assault rifles with 30 round clips. Lucido smiled slightly as he put worries to rest "My mercenaries, I have about ten of them here to guard me and my things. Not cheep, but worth it, all ex special forces." the old man nodded slightly before following Lucido deep into the complex to a downright cold room that held a large table. On said table was a satellite map of the strip, where small miniatures were laid out. Lucido walked over to them displaying his plan for capturing the Governor of Nevada in his next visit to the city of Las Vegas, and how the tanks would be ready in the 13 days.

Warwick, Rhode Island
Former Governor Lincoln Chafee, aged 75, rolled into his personal office on his wheelchair in downtown Warwick. The Governor went to his desk and began reading letters addressed to him. Most of them were junk, but one caught his eye. It came from an unknown association that went by the C.R.I.R (Citzens for a Rhode Island Republic). He opened it and read.

"Governor, we want you to assist our cause in creating a free and self-governing Rhode Island Republic. We cannot stand for "President" Omar's continued violations of our rights and freedoms. Rhode Island cannot stand by and let this happen!"

Chafee stopped reading, understanding that nothing could be done. He tossed the letter aside, knowing that there was no representative or senator to speak to about getting any real work done. Chafee himself couldn't get anything done, as he and the Democratic Party are frowned upon everywhere. But Chafee was interested in the secession movement, which has slowly been gaining prominence among younger people, who plan protests often. The Governor wanted to help.

So, with the help of several staff members of his, Chafee hired 100 surveys to walk the streets of Providence and ask questions about returning democracy to Rhode Island and creating a semi-autonomous state. Results were set to come back in very soon

Providence, Rhode Island
Approximately 1000 college aged students, associated with the CRIR took to the downtown streets, demanding the return of gubernatorial elections. The effects on business and travel was catastrophic. Students held up signs insulting the President and some were burning American flags. Another 400 or so marched towards the "legislative" building, singing patriotic songs and blocking doors into the building.

"This is the new reality! I was born into a democracy and I won't let it die!" said one Student

Ottawa, Canada
Prime Minister Matthew Thoreau looked at the papers on his desk. He was worried. It appeared that the United States was being weakened, ever so slightly, from internal rebellion. All the better for Canada. Omar was a threat to Canadian democracy, and Thoreau had won the 2027 elections by promising to keep the US at bay. Besides, if the US attacked, they would be up against the entire British Commonwealth, something they probably did not want.

Thoreau sighed. The papers were of various things: The first was a request from the Finance Minister to increase supply, another from the Health Minister to pump up the budget... and then a little interesting paper. It was simple: Canada would give its support through special operations teams and arms shipments to any border states, and harbor any American rebels. It had been approved in a secret session of the Parliament's Defense Committee. This was exactly what Thoreau wanted. He signed it, then wrote a memo to the Defense Minister asking him to increase troop number from 115.000 men and 4.000 special operations to 400.000 men and 50.000 special operations, as well as to get together a total of 1.5 million rifles. Thoreau knew that this would help his position, so didn't worry that the US would attack his country, which now had 80 ICBMs trained on Washington DC.

Florida State Legislature Building - Tallehasse, Florida

"And so, Ladies and Gentlemen of this esteemed congress" boomed the governors voice throughout the halls; The speech was wrapping up; short and to the point. "We can not sit idly by as our rights are trampled upon, our people oppressed, and so on and so forth. The time has come, ladies and gentlemen, for us to declare our independence and proceed as a independent nation therefor of. The Federal troops within our borders of Floridan origin will be givin the choice of exile from our great sta---.. Great Nation, or to join forces with the Florida National Guard. The time has come, Ladies and Gentlemen, for us to pick a side, Oppression and tyranny, or freedom and liberty? I hope you all know the choice." And with that, Governor Vanardane returned to his chair to a thunderous applause from the crowd, and the voting began. There was a nay-vote here and there, but it became rather obvious in the room that the state was going to be the first (to there knowledge) to secede. The court reporter stood up, and started counting the ballots aloud.

"Votes FOR, 93, Votes AGAIN---" He was cut off by a burst of gunfire outside the building.

"What the hell was that?" whispered the governor to Vice Governor Thompson, sitting next to him.

"I don't know, but its not good" was his simple reply.

By now the room had began to panic, Florida State Troopers had withdrawn there weapons and secured the main exit. Out the front window a Florida National Guard humvee was visible, spraying machinegun fire at a (from there perspective) invisible foe. It became obvious they where under attack. Florida State Troopers moved up,grabbing the governor and vice governor as various security details swept away represenatives, leaving in back exits of the building.

The Governor was shuffled into a limo with the Vice Governor, with various police vehicles escorting them to the airport.

"Get me two National Guard F-22's at Tallehasse Airport" the governor spoke into the phone; His voice was dead solid. By the time they arrived at the airport, the jets could be seen circling ahead. The convoy pulled into a predetermined lot, and both officials where shuffled at a fast pace onto a waiting private jet.

"What the hell is happening?" The governor was on the phone with the overseeing General of the National Guard

"It's way to disorganized to be able to tell - My first guess would be a Federalist attack, Sir." replied the general. The general was in Pensacola as well, and gunfire could be heard on the other end of the phonecall.

"In that case, may God help us all. I'll call you back once we're in the air." With that,he disconnected the call and boarded the plane. It had priority clearance and was immediatly able to take off, and was greeted by the F-22's in escort formation as it flew out of Pensacola. The news was entirely abuzz with the speculation of a Federalist attack, but the governor doubted it. "Would they really be that bold as to attack us before we even officially seceded?" Time would tell the answer.

General Noah Hines had recently been discharged from the army.
Insubordination.
He had objected to new riot tactics that were used on a mob in Columbus.
Some sort of heat projecting laser. Not deadly, unless your a kid or the elderly.
He now stood with 37 other men and women, on I75 outside the city. A group of 100 US national guard stood about 30 yards away, demanding they enter the city to restore order. A riot had recently driven the Mayor out of his office. Now, the US had sent in soldiers to "keep the peace."
Peace was obviously not their objective, given by the assault rifles they carried.
"You aren't welcome here, go home!" A man in his fifties yelled.
"We have official documents saying we have access to any and all streets in the state." An officer said.
"I didn't ask." A voice from the center of the crowd said. A man in a military uniform walk forward. He carried no weapons accept a M1911 pistol at his hip.
"Well if it isn't mister Noah Hines." The officer said. "How is home life treating you?" He sarcastically asked his former colleague.
"Why don't you just turn around and take your little projectile microwave back to DC." Noah said, gesturing to the mass of metal poorly concealed under a tarp in the back of a truck.
"Uh, last time I checked, I outnumber you around 3 to 1. Did they teach you how to count over in West point, or was it all books and paper?" The man asked menacingly, referencing Noah's past.
"They did teach me a few things, none that you can see." Hines answered. The two groups stood across each other, neither willing to move.

A man in the back of the Civilian group held his gun close to his chest. This rebellion had been good to think about, but now that he's here, second thoughts had drifted into his mind. For reassurance he grasped the handle of his M14 a little tighter. The gun was from a reinactor store.
Problem with these guns, sometimes the safety slips.

BANG!

The shot landed harmlessly in the pavement, but it was enough to drive the US troops to fire on the crowd. The Hoosiers quickly dove behind the concrete barriers they had set up and returned fire.
Then Noah's plan initiated.
Hunters fired from inside buildings, dropping strategic targets like officers and heavy machine gun teams.
A manhole cover opened up 20 yards behind the US guardsmen, revealing a Browning smuggled in from Mexico, opened up on the US soldiers, scattering them. Some soldiers attempted to run out to the fields on either side of the road, only to be killed by IEDs scattered in the country side.
As the last US soldier fell, Noah came out from his cover. As usual, he had planned for every outcome, even instructing any helpful HAM radio stations to create a lot of chatter to jam US communications. Now the task was to cover his tracks.
"I want all these bodies gone, this truck is scrapped by sunset. Keep the Microwave Emiter, all the guns and ammo collected. No blood on the streets, not a single hair of these guys! Bury them somewhere." He turned to the rebels.
"You're in it now, smash your cell phones and computers. Do anything you can to destroy records. Burn it or shread it, make it so you don't exist! We cannot let them track us. I have a house up in Troy you can stay in."
He looked down at the sole death for the rebels. A man of about 25, holding an old M14.
"We're out of here in 8 hours."

Seattle, Washington
Jay Inslee was known for being a bold, forward-thinking man and that was why he was chosen to be the leader of the secession movement. These sentiments were stronger in Washington than any other place in the US as it had been since the 1960's. Washington may have been home to wackos and lunatics, but these guys were firm in their belief in freedom and this was why they were standing here. A cabal of hippies and ordinary Americans with a vast range of weapons standing near a pit dug to conceal the bodies of those who remain loyal to the US in the Kitsap nuclear submarine base. The pit had been kind of unnecessary as most of the personnel had joined them, but they still wanted to bury the dead. Jay, himself, planned to us the missiles in this base as a means to make Omar listen to them and recognize their independence as the Washington Republic.

The battle that they expected was not what they got as they entered the base. They enterd to find most of the personnel joining them in their march to the main facility and the only ones who hadn't join them were a couple of captains loyal to the US. They executed and dumped in the pit, a former latrine, and were covered by dirt.

"Men, women, we have work to do,"Jay said as he turned towards them,"Secure the facility and get me a camera set up."

Fifteen minutes later, a camera was set up in the office of the base commander and Jay was seated at the desk. He had a look on his face that betrayed nothing of the fear and remorse he had felt but minutes ago. No, that was gone now, replaced the fury and indignation that all US citizens felt. He motioned for a rebel to start the recording.

"Hello, "President" Omar,"Jay said with a sneer," I am speaking to you from the office of the base commander of the Kitsap Naval Base and I think you know what I have to say. If you do not recognize Washington's independence we will turn Washington D.C. Into a glowing crater and then every remaining stronghold you have will become just another crater. I hope you know that it has been proven that bunkers don't work in the case of a direct hit and we have one aimed directly at the White House. I have nothing more to say to you other than to recognize us or be annihilated and you have forty eight hours to choose life over death.

Governors Mansion, Little Rock, Democratic Republic of Arkansas
January,1,2028
9:00 AM

It's been a few hours since the breakup of the United States, Governor Brett Kingsley was getting reports of rioting and civil unrest, as many of his citizens were scared and were lost at what was going to happen next. The National Guard of Arkansas was mobilized and Arkansas was soon put under Martial Law as there was no higher authority to tell him not to. The Governor then made calls to various Departments within the State, and told them to convene immediately at the Capital for a emergency meeting. Within a few hours, the leaders of the old Departments were at the Governors Mansion, as the National Guard,Police, Sheriffs, and State Police were securing the states borders and dealing with civil unrest.

The Governor began discussing first, "Gentlemen, our once great nation has broken apart. Our Economy is on the verge of collapse without the Federal Funding, we need to establish a new financial system or we will crash. I propose a new system of Currency, along with a few extra security procedures for the safety of our new nation. We will need to reform the State Police into a new National Police, and the Sheriffs and Police Departments will be reformed as well. I will write up a bill for it soon.". The room was made up of the Secretary of State, Attorney General, Treasurer, Auditor, and Land Commissioner of the old State Government. The Secretary of State is headed by Luna Rose and is going to be in charge of the Department of State and she would direct the foreign policy, the Attorney General which is headed by Drake Lawrence will be in charge of the new Department of Justice for the nation, the Treasurer will be headed by Kashawn Banks which will be in charge of the new Department of Treasury for money issues, the Auditor who is Marcus Fish will take charge of the new Department of Commerce which will deal with the trade of our nation, and the Land Commissioner will be headed by Patrick Davidson who will oversee the new Department of Economics for Agriculture and Industry. All of these shall be given more precise duties in the new law to come.

"For now, I will go ahead and dismiss us from this table, tomorrow we will draft our new government and new structure."

Sacramento, California
State Capitol Building
1300 hours Pacific Daylight Time

Governor Trent Hallsworth
"Your constituents aren't happy with your lack of support for them." Called an aide. It had been a long day. Marines from Camp Pendelton were flown to downtown Los Angeles to solve some rioting issue, gang violence was up and more coordinated, as the gangs simultaneously struck at military convoys moving in between San Diego and Newport Beach. The constant mass movement of troops and supplies for the marines had basically shut down the I-5 Freeway, and alternative transportation was becoming an issue. Now the populace and the Feds were knocking at the Governor's door: he couldn't stay on the fence for long. "I can't publicize any support for them without bringing the whole god-damned army down on our heads. That man Omar is an idiot when it come to domestic policy. The constitution doesn't exist anymore." He sighed. What in god's name possessed the American people to sign away their freedoms like that? Perhaps they were just that stupid. Hard to say for certain, but somewhere along the line America took a turn for the worse. As they walked down the hallways in the building, sunlight came in through the windows. It was a beautiful scene, but nobody had time for such pleasantries anymore. "Did you hear the news sir?" The aide asked, breaking the silence. "What news? Somebody important die?" At least Hallsworth could still use sarcasm... "No sir, but this is interesting. Bits of intercepted live footage from the Florida Legislature came through the net about thirty minutes ago by a civilian reporter by the alias of 'FR3310M'. Apparently, the legislature was about to vote in favor of secession, when gunfire erupted outside. A conflict between Florida State Troopers and anonymous tangos ensued. We have no idea what the casualties are over there." So... Trent thought, It has already begun. "Get me in contact with the airbases in the San Bernadino area. Tell them to launch drones and surveillance equipment, and have them do flyovers of LA, Riverside, San Francisco, and San Diego. Record video and stream it in my office. Set up a meeting with Yarrels on Catalina Island. We may end up following suit." The aide stopped, acknowledged with an "Aye sir" and executed his orders.

1600 hours Pacific Daylight Time

The drones had been online for just over 2 hours and the feeds they relayed were stunning and brilliant, but also horrific and traumatizing. Riots swept through the metropolitan areas, and the true nature of the marine's mission was revealed. Quarantine the area, the clean up with HAZMAT crews after the nerve agent had finished off the rioters. This was repeated throughout the state. Yarrels came through on the line. "Governor, sir, how can I serve you?" Good ol' Yarrels...

"Cut the bullshit Yarrels, it's getting bad on the mainland."

"Why the hell do you think I moved?"

"Four years ago I would have said that it was for the booze, sex, and the golden beaches, but now... I need a favor."

"Now he gets to the point. What can I do you for?"

"I can't mobilize the guard, or Mr. President looks over and takes a giant shit down my neck. My people are in distress, and I can't do anything until I can secure the initiative. I had the legislature get the articles of secession drafted, I just need to sign off on them. Before I do that, I need two- No three, things from you."

"Get to the point..."

"Your three objectives are as follows. Use your contacts and old military friends to trap the Navy's ships at San Diego. I have enough troops at our bases there to capture them. Secondly, do some low-level terror bombing on strategic targets in the southern region. Last, get a patrol out along our eastern and northern borders. Use the Kuechler Plan. I'll sign the paperwork as soon as the first bomb goes off. The Marines never had a commander like you General. Let's win the war before it starts."

"Aye, Aye."

The Strip, Las Vegas, 13 days after the meeting of session
The strip was closed to cars today, and the only thing moving was the large convoy of US military vehicles that escorted the Governor of the state, a friend of the President on a first name basis. Governor Drush sipped the brandy in his armoured limo and smiled a little to the young man across from him "Private, is this your first assignment?" to which the young soldier nodded slightly "Yes sir, I am worried about the rebellions happening in this nation." the Governor nodded slightly, and was about to offer some encouraging words when the driver hit the breaks, and brandy instead of kind words hit the young man. The Governor slammed his drink down, and was about to open the sunroof to complain to the soldiers when the gunfire started...

Stratosphere, Las Vegas, moments before
Lucido stood with the other Oligarchs in a holographic representation of the city. He had his tanks placed around well, and greased palms never hurt for hiding them. The Chairman gave Lucido a nod and the young man began his version of an RTS game, ordering "Order Maus to move to point one, fire coaxial on the lead car. Move flackpanzer in to support." like drones the others there relayed the messages to the units, and Lucido watched the holograms move. He watched as the hummer was ripped to shreds by the massive autocannon, and ordered "Move in Firefly, Flammpanzer 38, and two Hetzers to support, remind the crews that it is in violation of contract to kill governor." he watched as the firefights broke out, followed by the order "Move the Semovente, the Porche Tiger, Jagdtiger, E-100, and Pather into possition behind the convoy. Order Group Beta and Kappa to move in the reinforcements from Nellis." His eyes darted around a little and followed by saying "Order any of our aircover to hit Nellis."

Commander Swan, Combat air group, ME 262
The young female commander of Lucido's air group tapped her headset "Airwing report in." to a chorus of "Spitfire here, Bf 109 here, S-199 here, C.205 here, C.C. 1 Here, Zeke here, Zero here, Jill here, Kikka here." she then confirmed back to base "We are ready to fight for our freedom, and the lucrative payment you promised." a voice responded "Move your airgroup to prevent modern aircraft from launching from Nellis AFB. Ground attack is advised, your pilots will be fined if shot down and survive." She nodded slightly, slowly adjusting the throttle as she ordered "All fighters follow me, prepare to engage." the first thing to get hit was the radar dish, not expecting for something that looked like an airshow to open fire on them. The Kikka was the first thing to explode in mid air, being the slowest jet of the three and causing Swan to smirk and simply tell her pilots "This is when the fun begins, all units weapons free."

"Field Marshal" Lucido, Stratosphere
"My Kikka!" screamed the outraged young man as he watched the plane explode in mid air, having to catch his monocle out of mid air as it fell out. Before putting it back in he complained "That was so expensive to build!" he glanced over to the other battle then practically screamed "Order the Sherman from group Alpha to protect the Porche Ti-" getting cut off as his half million dollar tank was ripped open like a tuna can by a depleted uranium shell. He covered his eyes as he ordered "Protect the Maus, you understand me?!" not caring a bit for the young men and women whose lives were being evaporated in his precious vehicles.

Commander Ivanov, Group A, T-34
"Load load!" the merc yelled at his inexperienced crew, peaking his head out of the tank to look behind them as the turret turned. A standard M1 tank with its engine compartment were exposed. Unlike the Maus, or the Jagdtiger most of the tanks couldn't hope to penetrate anything but the weak rear armour of the advanced American tanks. He tried to turn the turret faster, but the mechanism was not built for combat, and seemed agonizingly slow. He watched as the American tank brought its main gun to bare, only to be swaddled in flame for more than a few seconds. There were screams and the men inside the tank tried to get out, only to get covered in more of the napalm like substance. The sight caused Ivan to stand and bring the machinegun to bear on the poor men, who tried nothing more than serving their country.

Governor's limo
The young man and the old man were sitting upside down in the armoured limo, having been rammed by one of their own tanks. The two looked at each other as the gunfire died out, then ended. The young soldier started crying in fear as he heard non American accents outside the door, and almost screamed in fear as the door was bused in by a well placed charge. Lucido's right hand 'man' stepped into the limo and promptly shot the young man through the right eye. She grabbed the Governor and he squirmed asking "Who are you, why are you doing this?" she answered simply in two parts "Natasha Romanova, and because Mr. Lucido said so. I ask no questions." she then asked him an even simper question "Will you work with us?" which was met with a glob of spit onto her cheek. She smirked a little "I hoped you wouldn't."

National Airwaves, 14 hours later
"Way out in the land of the setting sun,Where the wind blows wild and free..." the audience was treated to a two minute version of the newly National (not state) Anthem of 'Home Means Nevada to Me' before it swapped over to the more grizzly view of the former Nevadan Governor, missing an eye, most of his teeth, and all his fingernails. He spoke slowly "As Governor of the great State of Nevada, I am forced by my loyalty to the United States Government to relinquish my control of the state to a group calling themselves 'The Board of Nevada' and allow them to establish the Oligarchy of Nevada in this state as an independent nation. I ask all military officials in the state to hand over their posts to Nevadan loyalists. The Board has promised all citizens who wish to may leave for the United States." he took a pen, and then glanced at something behind the camera before signing a document "With this signature I void all rights of the United States to Nevada and her territorial ambitions, and offer it the support of the US in joining the United Nations."

Deer valley resort
Park City, Utah

Image

Disgruntlement over Omar was brewing in Utah and this disgruntlement was clearly demonstrable within this luxury resort. Okay, maybe clearly demonstrated was false however if you were within the council the situation was crystal clear. The entire resort had been hired out for the week on behalf of 'Johnson & Co', a new company who wished to hire the venue for a corporate conference and was willing to pay handsomely to ensure no other soul was in the resort, preferring to have their own servants catering for the event. A man, perhaps in his forties entered the lobby walking towards the reception manned by only one young woman as he put his briefcase on the table as he said "for Johnson & Co". Receptionist nodded her head in acknowledgement as the man opened the briefcase to show the bundles of cash. There was to be no paper trail of this meeting.

Receptionist quickly examined the cash as she nodded approvingly, handing over the master card and showing location of other keys as she said "enjoy your stay". The man smiled softly as the receptionist exited the hotel; leaving it completely in hands of Johnson & Co. After five hours and several check on entire hotel ensuring all cameras were turned off as well as there was no one was left in the hotel several luxury cars with tinted glass rolled in front of the hotel gates and several individuals walked into the hotel. Many things were clearer now, foremost of which was that this was no corporate conference.

After few hours, total of six individuals were present in the room including the man who had made the original registration. There were supposed to be seven however finally a man in his late twenties spoke out finally "lets begin, if William comes along we can debrief him latter" as he poured himself a scotch before continuing "getting straight to point, we have a problem and everyone here knows what that problem is". Everyone's eyes turned towards the door as William finally arrived and the man questioned "where the hell have you been", response was quick but apologetic "sorry, general but my contact took longer than expected to get around customs" as he placed a flash drive on the table. General reached for it, twirling in his fingers as he said "is the contact safe, Major"? Major nodded as he said "everything went to the protocol sir" and General nodded approvingly. The protocol was simple, built upon the premise that anyone who was not assessed to be immune to federal interrogation must be given help to increase their immunity to the interrogation procedure.

Nothing increased an individual's immunity to interrogation procedure than an accidental death.

General made a statement after Major had taken a seat "so today we have a means to eliminate this problem" as Major general Sunita spoke "we already have those means, problem is collateral damage". General nodded as he plugged in the flash drive as he looked at the holographic display saying "and now we have means to reduce that collateral damage, major". Everyone looked at the pop up holographic display and a hush fell on the room as everyone contemplated what they were seeing.

"Is that Russian kolokol-1?", broke out one of the personnels as William replied with smile "almost, its Afghani actually. General called in one of his favours in Russia who sent chemical structure to my old friend in Afghanistan. He is kind of a chemist, so his team did some stuff to the structure to reduce it lethality. He said what he did but I didn't do chemistry in college". General friends were Chechen separatists, people who he had helped before from black budget. When you spend six hundred billion on defence, you trend to miss it when few million goes missing.

General took a sip of scotch before he spoke "so, where is this now?" Major responded "its just crossed into Nevada, we cleared the driver and it will be delivered here tomorrow". General nodded approvingly as he said "keep me appraised, for now enjoy this resort."

Noah sat at a table with his rebel officers. They had made it out of the city safely, but news of their battle had become public. Some dude had caught it on video on his cell phone. That "Some dude" just happened to be Noah's brother, John. He also accidentally only showed the video starting from when the US fired on the rebels.
How convenient.
His friend Joey had shown up at his door yesterday, with 10 friends. Now Noah, John, and Joey along with 2 other rebels sat at a table with a map of Dayton in front of them.
"We need to hit the armory near the police station first. Take what we can and destroy the rest." Joey said.
"The National Guard outpost will be the US strong point. We have the people on our side, so our only enemies will be the government soldiers." John said.
"Has anyone considered the fact that we have 47 people?" One of the officers said. "They have hundreds and we're lightly armed."
"I know that..." Noah said. "I'm working on a plan, we won't travel out in the open, and we'll wear civilian clothes."
They all looked at the map and prepared their plan.
"We leave at midnight."

Joey walked down the street. This place was reknown for its gang violence in years past, and Joey hoped they could still deliver. He approached a house that was known to be a gang headquarters. He approached the bouncer and slipped him $100. He was allowed in and spoke to the gang leader.
"I have a job for you"

Police station, Downtown.
"We have a gang raid on the Kroger near Ponitac, it looks pretty serious." a policeman said. Half the police garrison was deployed to Pontiac street.
Not five minutes after they left, Noah and 6 other rebels walked in dressed in civilian clothes.
"Excuse me sir, I would like t report a shooting." Noah said.
"Alright, I'll need your name and-" he was cut off by a bullet shooting into his throat. Noah put his pistol in his holster. He and the rest of the group were using silencers, but it was only a matter of time before word got out. The group killed the rest of the unsuspecting police officers and grabbed as many weapons as they could, putting them in a large van parked outside the station.
The weapons were taken to the rest of the rebels just north of the city.
"Now we have to take out the National Guard station." Noah confirmed.

The National Guard base was built in a parking lot near the inner city. The rebels drove a multitude of vehicles into the city, concealing their weapons. They pulled up a few blocks away.
"We have a guy on the inside, and it's 12:30 so..." BOOM! Noah was interrupted by an explosion inside the building. "Go! Now!"
The rebels deployed, armed with M4 assault rifles and shotguns. They stormed in wearing has masks taken from the police station. The bomb was not meant to solely kill people, it also released tear gas into the ventilation system of the base.
Heavy resistance was given to the rebels by the dozen or so guards on duty, but once they were killed the sleeping soldiers were either do need up or shot. John went into the tech room and broadcasted this message throughout Fort Wayne:

"My fellow Americans, it is time for us to rise against our oppressive government. No longer shall our freedom be taken from us!"

After the national guard post fell, the city was all but theirs. Noah climbed to the top of the Lincoln Tower Bank and tore down the American flag. He raised the Indiana state flag instead.
You could hear the cheers from all the way up there.

Far East Military District

Oleg sat in his office. This district of the Soviets and Russians had long been neglected, Moscow always got the first call for new equipment. Not now. Yuri Sviatopolk had made this district the top priority for reasons only known currently to high command. The 33rd Motor Rifle Division was to push towards Anchorage, while the The VV 33rd Special Purpose Unit would push towards Fairbanks. Soon...

Raleigh, North Carolina
A large warehouse

many people were gathered on the floor of the warehouse speaking to each other. they each held weapons which the tyrant Omar had outlawed. A man walked up to the stage and he was Robert stonewall, veteran and politician turned rebel leader. The crowd hushed and turned to him as he began to speak "my brothers and sisters, now is the time to throw off the oppressive regime. i remember when Carolina was free and now it is part of a dictatorship. now is the time we fight for what is ours" he said which was met by cheers. a banging was heard on warehouse door and then opened revealing police and national guard units. "you are all under arrest for plotting against the government" said one of the national guardsmen but Stonewall simply said "now". the 3 Humvees blew up immediately as rpg fire it them. from across the street. fire began to rain down on the police and national guardsmen. "we take Carolina back now" yelled Stonewall before the entire warehouse charged at the enemy. Gunfire tore through the night chasing the retreating men serving the evil government of Omar. "This is our home and we will restore her to her former glory. For the New Confederacy" yelled the mob as they advanced. A full blown fire fight developed on the outskirts of town as the rebels moved in trying to capture the Governor's mansion. The revolt had officially begun but not just in Raleigh. Across the state in every major city, fighting began to breakout. The rebels versus police and national guard. the sad thing for the regime was that many police and national guardsmen joined the rebels, sick of serving a dictator. Charlotte was taken within hours but fighting continued in all other cities with the rebels winning.

One day after the meeting
An eighteen wheeler rolled up outside of the resort at about midnight and General arrived on the dot for inspection of the cargo followed by Sunita who unlocked the storage as she touched the metal containers housing the gaseous agent remarking "I have been shot in F-35 while flying over hostile, managed to escape from Siberia and still standing next to this still ranks on top of my experience". General smiled as he climbed into the trailer as he said "I have wanted to have access to this since I read about hostage crisis of '02".

Sunita continued "so what is the plan?" General looked towards her taking a break from admiring the weapons before he said "first we neutralize possibility for federal counter-attack from within the state", dismounting the truck as he looked towards the driver saying "park the truck in the car park and secure it", handing him a hundred dollar bill however the driver refused saying "when you are successful, this will be useless. Just remember general, you owe me one". General chuckled as he patted him on the shoulder saying "of course, of course. We wont forget those who help bring liberty to this great state of ours" before the driver started to drive the truck towards car park.

General walked into the resort along with Sunita as he continued "we do that by releasing this gas on all the major federal bases within the state. Then we go after Governor's family" as they headed towards the table and he accessed the flash drive loading bio profiles before saying "Governor has a family; a mother, wife, and two kids" as he loaded the picture of the governor's family in the holographic display. "Threaten them, and he resigns, naming me acting governor. A decree is them passed declaring independence with immediate effect and that vote is to be held for structure of state within the month". Sunita paused to consider this as she questioned "what if they do not vote for type of government that we want"?

General laughed reaching for scotch before he continued "they will vote for independence, and they will vote for Stratocracy with consultative council of state primarily composed of military personnel" with a smile. It will be a bloodless revolution.

Atlanta, State of Georgia, Governor's Panic Room
"Things starting to develop around the country. Federal troops attacked the Floridian government, God knows why." said the Governor.
"Riots in Ohio turning deadly, Californians being gassed to death be the Feds, Nevada outright declared it's independence!" continued the Governor.
"So, is the time nigh?" ask one of the legislators in the room.
"It is. Call up our National Guard, contact all military bases and try to convince them to either leave peacefully and join our side. Make sure that if there are shots fired, they aren't from us." commanded the Governor "And make sure that our succession papers are drawn up and published fully. After that, make sure it is known that the State of Georgia is fully independent and committed to stay as such, regardless of the nation is was formerly attached to."
"If I have the floor," said one of the older men in the room "I think it's about damn time, sir."
And all in the room agreed, both verbally and not, and got to work on their assigned tasks.

Naukan, Russia

It was going to be a short hop from Naukan, to a stop on Diomede, to wales,Alaska. The Varyag and the Marshal Shaposhnikov would use their life boats and put VV troops on Diomede and Wales.

Off the coast of Naukan

Grigori switched the safety off. he was to land on Diomede and stay there until said otherwise. The motor boat were heading towards the shore. Grigori felt a huge crash as the boat landed on the rocky sand. There was a total of 18 men and 3 boats. They were to secure the island for future use. The Varyag and the Marshal Shaposhnikov would continue until they got to Wales and then they would unload special landing craft that were capable of carrying BMP's...

Washington British Columbia Border
With word of Washington State rebelling and having seized a naval base, the Canadian intervention was guaranteed. Border posts were seized from US authorities. With the all clear, 1.000 Marine operatives went over the border, along with large trucks carrying 4 billion rounds of ammunition, 40.000 G3A3s, and even 100 155mm artillery pieces, plus 20 Abrams tanks. The trucks set out for the naval base, in order to deliver their large and generous cargo.

Approaching Rhode Island
The government was also moving on Rhode Island. From Nova Scotia, remote controlled submarines, able to escape Coast Guard patrols, were being sent to certain locations to be picked up by expats in the state, then given to the resistance. Each submarines, about the size of a man or so, possibly larger, could up to 50 g3s or 20.000 rounds of ammunition. About 40 of these mini subs were in commission, with more than 200 planned to enter service. So far, several successful missions had brought 5.000 g3s and 2 million rounds of ammunition into the hands of loyal expats, who then handed them over to known secessionists.

Jacksonville International Airport - Florida Air National Guard Base

Lt. Colonel Thames moved over to his F-22 raptor, inspecting it. He wasnt quite sure how he got here, ofcourse, it was rather a blur of US Air Force training, before the breakup, after which he pledged his allegience to Florida over the 'oppresive totalitarian government' in Washington, So here he was, being thrown into a F-22, one of the most advanced fighter jets in the world, to fight in a second civil war. Oh the joy.

The briefing room was rather tense. Colonel Holland, the commander of the flight, explained the situation as a digitalized map on a screen inside the desk lit up
Image

Floridan Lines where in green, Georgian lines red, Federal movements in blue. The room quieted down as Colonel Holland proceeded.

"We have confirmed Federal divisions where responsible for the attack on Tallehasse, The National Guard and any cooroperating federal units have been merged to form the Floridan Armed Forces, us included, and several naval units have switched to our side as well." The Colonel pointed to a dot on the screen labelled 'GRFBG'. "Gerald R. Ford Battlegroup, I'm sure your all aware how much this can ruin our day if they choose the wrong side." The room froze up, the U.S.S Gerald R Ford, launched in 2017, was one of the new top-of-the-line supercarriers. Capable of launching 70-80 aircraft, It was effectively a floating airfield. And having it in that position could really ruin there day if they chose to side with the Federalist.

"Regardless, We have a job to do" Colonel Holland broke the silence in the room, "The Florida and Georgian national guards are cooroperating, and the GNG is requesting air support over a Federal push on Augusta, The 2nd group is heading towards Tallehasse to assist our push to relieve Pensacola, we are assisting the Georgian 4th wing over Augusta. Any questions?"

"No sir" was a universal response from the room. The pilots left the room and boarded there Raptors, before taking off and crossing the Georgia-Florida line towards Augusta.

U.S.S Gerald R. Ford, Gulf of Mexico

Admiral Coles briefing room was tense, various officers from the battle group had gathered, On the main screen, Governor Vanardane was visible.

"...I entrust you, Admiral, siding with us would be the right move. You serve the people, not the corrupt government."

"Governor, I took a oath to serve this countr--"

"Admiral, you took a oath to serve this countries people, and to protect them from tyranny and oppression. When the government is the tyrannical oppressors, you have a duty to oppose them."

There was a long pause.

"I'll get back with you in a minute, Governor." The admiral switched the display off so the governor could not see of hear the conversation that followed.

"Even if we moved to attack the Floridans, sir, Dissent is so high I bet at least half would not comply."

"I concur, We have a duty here, gentlemen, to serve the people, not the government. When the government is the oppressors, as they are here, I'll say we have a cons--, A civil duty, to stop them. Any objections?"

The room fell silent, no one spoke.

"No objections then? Good. Get back with the Governor, He just got a aircraft carrier."

Kyle Cosmos sat in his base of operations surprisingly calmly considering what he was planning to do. He had spent the last couple months calling in favors, meeting up with contacts, and positioning his forces. Kyle was a war veteran and a politician. Thanks to his background he had contacts in the government, military, private sector, even a few criminal organizations. His people were in every city, town, and military base in Illinois. For the past week several people that worked closely with the government and Omar in this state were quietly eliminated. Some thankfully he was able to persuade to join his cause. He didn't like ordering their "disappearances" but it needed to be done to help free Illinois and possibly the rest of the country from the grip of Omar's tyrannical grasp. There was a knock on the door from one of Cosmos's officers.
"Everyone is in positions sir. The contacts within City Hall have been notified."
"Good. Soon it will begin."

Warwick, Rhode Island
"Mr. Chafee, we have the results of the survey you commissioned" said Chelsea McDonnell, Chafee's chief of staff

"Hand it over" said Chafee. He read the results.

"Well I'll be . . ."

The results were astonishing. 76% percent of the 10000 surveyed disapproved of the current government. 72% would be happy if Rhode Island was its own semi-autonomous state. 77% would be happy if Rhode Island was its own nation.

"Have you heard anything from the CRIR?" asked Chafee

"Their numbers have grown to 5000. They are supposedly planning a sit in the state capital tomorrow when the "Governor" is making a speech."

"A sit in? Call them and tell them we can make this more than a sit in . . ."

New Shoreham, Rhode Island
Armed CRIR rebels have successfully seized the US Coast Guard station on Block Island, New Shoreham. All 15 federalist soldiers at the post were killed in their sleep, while the CRIR only suffered wounds from patrolling officers. The CRIR has received the Canadian submarines from the expats and have secured them at a safe dock on the island. The CRIR has also the ammunition from the Canadian expats, and have begun loading them into guns and handing them to armed militias, awaiting their orders.

Diomede

Grigori got off the boat fast and then pointed his rifle at an inuit hunter who had a shotgun. The Inuit man raised his gun at the invaders. Grigori shot first instantly killing the man. He would be the first of many to die in this war. He and his men watched as a Tupolev 95 flew over...
