Quest for the Crown: Northern Vengeance

Everybody in part one should read the whole OP again.

Derria

Image

Introduction

Derria is an ancient land with histories that go back thousands of years. In days of old the land was composed of a patchwork of kingdoms, counties, and even tribes that warred among each other constantly. It is referred to as the Age of Darkness, where there was no respite against the blood lust of men. Yet all it took was one great man to unite the land. Vedrion the Great, who marched and conquered all one by one and established the great House of Wallstryn which has ruled over Derria ever since from the great city of Avantine. Hundreds of years later and every man from beggar to noble still knows his name. His descendant, King Telvion III sits on the throne. But gone is the great king's of old. Telvion III is mad. Once he gathered a small army and declared war on the ocean. Ordering his troops to attack the water. Now he believes himself to be made of glass and easily shattered. Ever fearing for his life, the King is excessively paranoid. He has put many to death to try and ease his fear.

The Wallstryns have always been a formidable house with great Kings to good Kings. The old Kings have always been able to keep the realm from falling apart and kept the intrigues of the court at bay. Whether through cunning or sheer brutality. This was until the reign of Telvion II, a weakling who did much to wear away the realms stability. With his son Telvion III no longer partaking in matters of state this deterioration has only magnified. Across the realm a mockery is made of the King's madness. The members of the court and the great houses grow ambitious. The scheming of crown's subjects is now greater than ever. The peace is fragile at best.

Yet the Kingdom is not without hope. Telvion III's first son and heir to the throne, Prince Galvion, dubbed Galvion the Gallant by the people is the very symbol of chivalry in Derria. The young handsome prince is a tournament champion and extremely popular among the very people who gave him his name. Troubadours sing his praises and the women of the realm moon over his very appearance. Some even say he is Vedrion the Great reborn. The young prince has proven himself as a battlefield commander and an administrator. As soon as he was old enough he began participating in the governing of the Kingdom making monumental strides to keep the peace and undoing the damage done by his father and grandfather. As well as easing his father's madness which is no small task.

Princess Charlia, his sister, is held as one of the most beautiful women in Derria and assists her brother with the administration of the kingdom. She has proven herself to be an excellent diplomat even without her stunning appearance.

Finally Prince Jestrion, the Prince's young brother is yet a teenager but already has the markings of his older brother.

This RP is like ASOIAF in that you will be controlling a noble house and its members in the realm of Derria. The setting is medieval in a made up world created by the players. Politics, intrigue, diplomacy, war and romance are major themes of the RP. There are Great Houses and lesser houses as well as positions of court that need to be filled. Court is a rats nest of intrigue and scheming. I also mention that like in GoT and this being a low fantasy RP magic does exist but is extremely uncommon and many don't believe in it. We probably won't be utilizing magic.

To determine climate, North is colder and south is hotter. If you look at the map, Derria is the center continent where this RP is centered around. It is Europe/Westeros like. Houses you make should be predominantly European/Westeros like. In the East you have the Dellitan City States which are like the Italian City States and the Free Cities in ASOIAF. They are big trading partners with Derria it won't really be explored. Further east you have the Gaitanen Empire, a oriental like civilization. ICly, very little is known about the Gaitanen Empire to Derrians and what is known is shrouded in myth and legend. To the west you have Agrasca, a middle eastern like civilization. The far south of the Derrian continent is desert and is populated with a people with a completely different culture. They are nomadic desert tribes which Derrians consider barbarian and uncivilized. Kind of like the Wildlings in ASOIAF but in the desert. These desert tribes are prone to raiding along the southern border of Derria. The City of the Paragon is the seat of power of the Church. It is a pristine city built in the middle of a lake, ruled directly by the church and is virtually impregnable. Attacking the City of the Paragon is considered a great sacrilege.

This RP is actually part 2 of an already running RP. You did not have to participate in part one to join now. In fact I want/need new players. But you should be aware of what happened. It is described below.

Events of Part One

King Telvion's rule had left the great houses of Derria discontent with Wallstryn rule. In the spring 300 years after Vedrion's Conquest they moved for independence. The northern kingdoms Vorzov and Kursturm are lands steeped in tradition. Their peoples fierce and hardened by the unforgiving cold of the North. Their rulers, House Kazanowski and House Thorn created the first spark of rebellion by orchestrating the death of Prince Galvion, heir to the Crown and the largest obstacle to their plans or so they thought. When the desert tribes united under Akmal the Vicious and invaded Derria, Prince Galvion led an army composed of all the realms forces to thwart their advance. On the plain of Ahkour, Akmal's army was completely routed but not before Lord Balthazar Thorn stabbed the beloved Prince in the back. Unbeknownst to the rest of Derria Galvion survived the attempt but was taken prisoner by the routing forces of Akmal. Kursturm and Vorzov declared their independence soon after. They formed the Commonwealth of Two Nations and Mikhail Kazanowski, the once Lord of Vorzov declared himself High King of the North. Mikhail was able to do so with the support of one of House Thorn's more powerful bannermen, Bulgovad Yusupova. As word got back to Avantine (seat of House Wallstryn, largest city in Derria) the Wallstryns were struck with grief and outrage. Prince Jestrion, Galvion's younger brother was declared the new heir and given command of the royal army. His purpose, crush the northern rebellion and find justice for his brother.

Prince Jestrion, along with his commanders such as Ser Gillam Averril and Ser Karl Aurenstein set out with a host to serve the North fire and steel. The first battle occurred at Krieger's Pass where royal forces routed those of Lord Balthazar opening the road for Sturmwall, the capital of Kursturm. This was the battle that Jestrion was given the title, the Jester Prince for his humorously and lighthearted. A term of endearment for his men and one of derision for his enemies. The royal forces arrived at Sturmwall to find a city starving as it was being blockaded by the Illionae-Aenaean armada. But the walls of the city were strong and the defenders staunch. Two bloody assaults broke like waves upon the rocks. Jestrion knew he could not break the city and decided to abandon his original plan. Instead, he conjured a new scheme. Go west, through Vorzov, burning and plundering along the way to draw the rebels inland. All the while a Wallstryn fleet would sail around Derria to take an undefended Visegrad (capital of Vorzov).

While Jestrion plundered his way through the North things were developing in the capital as well. Princess Charlia, now serving as regent had to deal with the political schemes of the court. She found an ally, friend and secret lover in Loran Gneiss, the Earl of the Clere Marches. When tensions between the Crown and the Church grew on the question of succession in another of the realm's kingdoms it was Loran who drafted the Merchant Banking Charter. The charter allowed merchants to begin banking businesses themselves and take away the Church's power as Derria's predominant banking institution. The Church itself seems to be making moves as well. High Priest Mariak has declared himself Patriarch of the Church, an ancient title that has not been used for ages.

Jestrion's plan for the North worked all too well. His army lost many men to disease, cold and hunger. Under the direction of Mikhail Kazanowski and his daughter Beata, the swift Vorzovian cavalry harassed his marching column as the royal army journeyed through Vorzov. In an effort to save his army from starvation, Jestrion laid siege to the city of Cyron in order to acquire supplies. While Jestrion besieged the city the royal army's rear was attacked by those of the Northerner forces. Ser Gillam Averril was able to repulse the attack. During the fighting one of Jestrion's bannermen, Ser Jekyll Stain, the most infamous knight in Derria known for his brutality and responsible for the massacre of the Kuznetsk village was slain by Ser Draco Lollard.

Meanwhile, Balthazar Thorn now deranged with madness and drug abuse won a duel against his adversarial bannerman, Bulgovad Yusupova and broke his agreement with Mikhail Kazanowski to declare himself, King of Kursturm, taking his loyal knights Draco and Jeffrey Lollard with him. Once back in Sturmwall he then began conducting a ruthless inquisition killing many of the nobles in Kursturm. Though Kursturm and Vorzov are in rebellion it is yet to be seen just how allied these two kingdoms are.

Far south in the uncharted deserts Galvion remained a prisoner in Akmal's camp. The due developed a sort of mutual respect and Galvion was able to recover his strength. At one point, Elendil Helyanwe, the Mistress of Daggers attempted a rescue but was captured herself. The two friends await to be free.

Jestrion's plan to take Kursturm came into full swing. The Wallstryn fleet had sailed around Derria and was now on the shores of Visegrad along with the Illionae-Aenaean Armada under the command of Sir Yohn Llancol. A steadfast Kazanowski bannerman and commander of the Vorzovian fleet, Jerzy Swirski sailed out to meet the massive loyalist armada in battle. The Kazanowski fleet put up a valiant fight but their efforts were futile against the combined Wallstryn and Illionae-Aenaean ships. Once the Kazanowski fleet was sunk, loyalist troops landed on Vorzovian shores and immediately assaulted the lightly defended city of Visegrad. It should have been a crushing defeat for the Northmen of the city who were forced to resort to conscripts of peasants, laborers, tradesmen and even women to man the city walls. The hubris of the loyalist commander, Edward Fastolf resulted in a disorganized attack. Visegrad's defenders under the command of Drogodar Kazanowski, Mikhail's brother, cut down wave after wave of loyalist attackers and eventually Fastolf himself. The army that had sailed around Derria soon bordered their ships and headed home, defeated.

Seeing that he had lost this campaign season Jestrion decided to flee home with his bedraggled and depleted army. Mikhail and Beata with a massive host chased him after he left Cyron. Knowing they could not outrun the Northerners in his army's poor state, Jestrion decided to make a stand in Sakier Valley. Before the battle, word had reached Jestrion that his father, King Telvion had passed away. A few Silver Guards traveled in secret to bring him Vedrion's battle crown. In the moments before the fighting with his knees in the mud, Jestrion was crowned King of Derria. The Jester Prince had become the Jester King.

The desperate and weary loyalists troops, enlivened by their King's crowning staunchly held their ground against the massive Northern host that had been set upon them. Crownland's archers wielding yew longbows rained down storms of arrows against the advancing Northerners then drew their weapons to fight when the enemy was upon them. Jestrion himself had a fleuret chipped from his crown and emeralds encrusted on his armor knocked off. The loyalists fought the Northerners fiercely and in the end, achieved arguably the most stunning victory in the history of Derria.

Both armies, one defeated and one victorious returned home for the winter months. The war is far from over and come spring, blood shall be shed in the lands of Derria once again.

The title of this RP is Northern Vengeance because we are going to see a Northern Invasion of the South. Much of the last RP's major events took place in Vorzov and Kursturm. This part it will be the Crownlands and the other Southern Kingdoms.

Before you apply you should know this is not a typical RP. It's more a joint story telling effort. All significant events such as who wins a battle are planned out by the players and what happens is decided on the basis of what is best for the story. You may not try to "pull a fast one" on other players to get the upper hand. We also work on a fluid timeline. There is a general "present" but players are allowed to do flashback posts. Finally, this is a heavy character RP. You would control multiple characters that you develop. Exploring your character's thoughts, feelings, fears and motivations is a requirement. If any of these isn't your thing then don't apply.

Lord: Head of a Great House, owes fealty to the King. Owns large region.
Earl, Count, Baron: Head of a lesser house, must be a vassal to a Great House. All are held equally in ranking but Earls hold more land/wealth than Counts, and Counts more than Barons. Same goes for military sizes. Barons do not have castles.
Knight: May be a hedge knight, a knight to a Baron, Count, or Lord. Owns at most a manor or keep. May have a small company of men at arms.

High Magister: Like Hand of the King from GoT. Head of the High Magistracy. Answers only to the King.

The main religion of Derria is the Church of the Paragon. Whoever takes the High Priest position can makeup whatever the hell this is as they go. Though the Church does not have as much power like it did in medieval Europe. The old religion is just dubbed "Spirit Worship" and is a minority religion with parallels to paganism. I'll let one great house and their region take this religion kinda like the Starks if they want. But its up to you to make up whatever the hell it is. Just add if you want to do so in notes on your app. Many lesser houses can take this religion too, but you have to be vassal to the Great House that dubs it as their religion. Secretly the Wallstryns are Spirit Worshipers though how this will play out in the IC I do not know.

1. General RP Etiquette
2. Stick to the medieval/GoT theme
3. If you are a great house remember that your armies are feudal armies. Look up what that means.
4. No gunpowder. No Greek Fire. No weapons, equipment, devices or technology that did not exist in RL medieval times.
5. The religion of the land is the Church of the Paragon or "Spirit Worship" should you choose that. Only one great house though.
6. Army sizes when we RP are as follows: 25,000 max for each Great House including their vassals, Earls-5000, Counts-2000, Barons-500, Landed Knights-100. Remember these are all maximums
7. Magic is uncommon in this world but I'll allow you to do something magical if you clear it with me first.
8. While this RP has a Game of Thrones feel, reading GoT or watching the show is not a requirement for this RP. Though I highly encourage it because both the show and books are awesome!
10. This is more of a character RP despite your control of factions.
11. Once you are accepted, have at least 3-5 strong posts in the IC and are active in the RP you may advertise any RP you are running in this OOC.
12. Adding any major family members, other than what is stated in your app, after your first IC post requires approval from me. You may add new characters, even major ones without approval.
13. DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU SERIOUSLY PLAN TO PARTICIPATE THE WHOLE WAY THROUGH. THIS RP HAS BEEN RUNNING FOR OVER A YEAR NOW AND WE NEED DEDICATED RPERS. Also, don't sit around waiting for things to happen. I'll try and guide the RP but it is up to you to be proactive in creating an interesting storyline for your house and characters.

Those applying to be Great Houses (Lords):

If you look at the map, you must choose a territory on the map marked by numbers. There are numbers 1 through 5. Depending on which territory you choose, I will give you certain limitations and strengths. I may also dictate in the end which side you join to keep the balance of power. As of right now, or Great House positions have been claimed. You are welcome to make a vassal/minor house.

1: Must have a small army but will have the largest and most formidable navy out of all the Kingdoms. 100+ ships. Kingdom 1 has been claimed.
2: Smaller army around 15k. Though one of the daughters of your house may be engaged to marry Jestrion Wallstryn which will grant a lot of power in itself. Kingdom 2 has been claimed.
3: Second largest army in Derria. Around 27k though less well equipped than most. Also a breadbasket kingdom. Must also be Crown loyalists. Kingdom 3 has been claimed.
4: More desert like, lower population, smaller army around 12-14k. Though has the ability to utilize horse archers and eastern tactics. Would have a history of contending with the desert tribes. Kingdom 4 has been claimed.
5: Would have a small army, navy and be the "weakest" great house in the RP.Kingdom 5 has been claimed.

Application: Don't worry about describing your military yet. There's another app for that. If you are new, you have not participated in the war yet. You will also start off not in rebellion. If you were in part 1, include a brief description of what your house did in that time. If you do not create a great house you must be a vassal to one of the existing great houses or wait until I accept other great house applicants. Please delete everything in parenthesis.

Name of House: Wallstryn
Banner of House (describe or post a picture): Silver eagle on a green background.
Description of House: The Wallstryns are an ever powerful house who have ruled over Derria for hundreds of years. It was Vedrion the Great who first united the Kingdom who's name shall be forever etched into the annals of history. Though the Wallstryns still command respect throughout the land, the reign of Telvion II and III has done much to deteriorate their standing. The Wallstryns still have their immense wealth, suitable lands, and formidable armies which makes them an ever present threat. Even if the madness of King Telvion III has many questioning the House's strength and legitimacy.

If not mentioned, brief description of House's relationship and feelings towards House Wallstryn: Not applicable
Head of House (name, age, and sex): King Jestrion I, 19, Male
Nobility Ranking (Lord, Earl, Count, Baron, Knight): Royalty
If not a Lord who are you a vassal to: Nobody
Brief Description of Head of House (history, personality, appearance): With his father dead and his brother presumed to be, Jestrion Wallstryn was crowned King of Derria and Lord of the Crownlands on the battlefield of Sakier Valley moments before the fighting. Before given command of the royal army and declared heir, Jestrion was a mostly uncaring person in terms of his studies and was ignored at court. Though he did have an obsession for military history and has read every book in the Avantine library on the subject. Due to this he surprisingly is an excellent military strategist as well as being an expert in logistics and mathematics. Far more so than his brother Galvion. He does not quite have Galvion's martial prowess but is a skilled fighter in his own right. Neither is he as just or honorable but cannot be considered an evil man. Unfortunately Jestrion is a weak politician and prone to infuriating others at court much to his disadvantage.

He is nicknamed Jestrion the Jester, the Jester King, or just the Jester. A title which is attributed to his lighthearted, humorous and highly inappropriate behavior. The name is used by his troops as a term of endearment and as an insult by his enemies. Jestrion now wears the name as some sort of badge of honor.
If you were in part 1, brief description of what your house did: See above
Telvion is a tall man, grey hair cropped short with a beard. Though not many have even seen him before.
Relevant House Members (names, age, sex, relation to head of house): Prince Galvion, 25, Male, First son of Telvion III
Princess Charlia, 22, Female, daughter of Telvion III
Brief Description of other most relevant House Members: Black haired, fair skin, tall, attractive for the most part. Charlia is a strong politician and skillfully administers to all the nonmilitary affairs of the Crown on behalf of her brother the King. She is a more cutthroat and morally loose character but is so only for the betterment of the realm and her family.
Name of the Land your house rules over: The Crownlands
Land Claim if a Great House: See above
Geography: Warm, fertile, hills and meadows, a few forests.
Desired Position (can ask for more than one position, but only one position per family member): The High Magister must be a member of a Great House, and preferably the head): n/a
RP sample (1-3, unnecessary if you were in Part 1): Sorry, I just don't like RPing with people who post too short, are too ridiculous, or have bad writing skills. I also want this to be a high quality RP.

You don't need to read this to make an app but review it before you post in the IC.

Note: Due to the rebellion in part one, certain kingdoms in the realm may begin to print their own currency. But for the time being the current currency still retains its value and the coins are accepted anywhere in Derria.

Exchange Rates and Prices for Things

This is a list of all battles that have happened in the IC since this RP began. Battles are pivotal moments in the story so I think its important they be kept track of here.
Battle Name, Factions, Notable Deaths

1. Battle of Ahkour: Royal Army of Derria, Prince Galvion Wallstryn (Victor) v. Unified Desert Tribes, Akmal the Vicious (Loser). Notable Deaths: None (though Galvion was believed to be killed).

2. Battle of Krieger's Pass: Royal Army of Derria, Prince Jestrion Wallstryn (Victor) v. House Thorn, Lord Balthazar Thorn (Loser). Notable Deaths: Ser Halinook "Nook" Belter (Slain by Donner the Rolling Thunder).

3. Siege of Sturmwall: House Thorn and House Kazanowski, Voivode Drogodar Kazanowski (Victor) v. Royal Army of Derria, Prince Jestrion Wallstryn (Loser). Notable Deaths: None

4. Battle of Cyron: Royal Army of Derria, Ser Gillam Averril (Victor) vs. Commonwealth of Two Nations (House Rhynarion, House Lollard, House Thorn), Ser Kaspar Rhynarion The Brightlance (Loser). Notable Deaths: Ser Jekyll Stain (slain by Ser Draco Lollard).

5. Battle of Barter Bay (naval battle): House Illionae-Aenaea and the Wallstryn Royal Fleet, Sir Yohn Llancol (Victor) vs. House Kazanowski, Jerzy Swirski (loser).

6. Siege of Visegrad: Commonwealth of Two Nations, Donner the Rolling Thunder (Victor) vs. Royal Army of Derria, Count Edward Fastolf (loser). Notable Deaths: Count Edward Fastolf (Slain in the fighting)

7. Battle of Sakier Valley: Royal Army of Derria, King Jestrion Wallstryn (Victor) vs. Commonwealth of Two Nations, King Mikhail Kazanowski (loser).

These are characters that I deemed to be "heavy hitters" in the previous RP. Maybe you can get one of yours on this list.

Galvion Wallstryn: First child of the late King Telvion. Was the heir to the throne until captured and presumed dead.
Jestrion Wallstryn: Youngest child of the late King Telvion and current loyalist King of Derria.
Charlia Wallstryn: Second child of the late King Telvion and only daughter. Current High Magister of the loyalist court.
Mikhail Kazanowski: Once Lord of Vorzov. Now King of the newly formed Commonwealth of Two Nations (Vorzov and Kursturm) and Lord of Vorzov. Note: The commonwealth may be in name only. Kursturm's submission to Vorzov is yet to be clear. Original Lord's, House Thorn has broken agreement. Though a powerful bannerman (Bulgovad) of Kursturm still supports Mikhail. Kursturm is most likely split on the issue.
Beata Kazanowski: Daughter and first child of Mikhail. She is heir to his titles and holdings. Also has played a key role in the war.
Drogodar Kazanowski: Mikhail's brother and a high ranking commander in the Northern forces.
Balthazar Thorn: Once Lord of Kursturm. Now has proclaimed himself King of the region.
Bulgovad Yusupova: Powerful Thorn bannerman that has sided with the Kazanowskis.
Elendil Helyanwe: Mistress of Daggers. Imprisoned with Galvion unbeknownst to anybody. Has left an imposter in her stead.
Artanis Helyanwe: Member of the Silver Guard, Jestrion's trusted friend and bodyguard.
Evalin Sylvari: Captain in the Alanthi Rangers. Conducted scouting missions for the loyalist army in the Northern Campaign.
Draco Lollard: Thorn bannerman. Once a knight, now newly made Earl of Rupoy't. Distinguished himself fighting the loyalists on behalf of House Thorn.
Gillam Averril:Son of a bannerman (Redguard Averril) to House Wallstryn. Fought in the Northern Campaign with King Jestrion distinguishing himself there. Newly appointed Marshal of Derria and Vice Commander of the Royal Army (loyalists).

Derrian Lore

None of this is required reading. Just things that happened before the current RP. Though it would be good to know. All of it is player created lore. Should you join you may add lore too as long as it isn't too out of line with the RP and doesn't contradict anything here or the OP. I reserve the right to reject your additions though.

Previous Conflicts (Chronological Order)

Took place 170 years before the current timeline. The war was sparked when King Illethrion Wallstryn's three eldest sons, dubbed the Warring Princes, rebelled against their father. Princes Hadrion, Saerion and Falion split the realm into three warring factions as they fought each other for the Crown. This is the latest great Derrian conflict before the current one and second bloodiest war after Vedrion's Conquest. It saw the rise of some of Derria's most celebrated heroes such as Alarion the Bastard, Mila Myszkowska, Erron Longshanks and Gillam Averril (the first). They were responsible for putting the good King Merion the Merrymaker, King Illethrion's youngest true born son, on the throne and the defeat of the Warring Princes.

The catalyst to the War of the Princes. Five years before King Illethrion's sons rebelled the realm went to war with Neris, Covine, and Torrence in a short but bloody conflict known as the War of the Pirate Cities. This "Triumvirate" of city states in Dellita facilitated piracy in the Alesian Sea resulting in the disruption of the Derrian sea trade. King Illethrion answered by sending a Derrian Royal Fleet composed of ships from House Delacroix, Wallstryn, Helyanwe which overwhelmed and destroyed the disorganized "Triumvirate" fleet composed of pirate and mercenary ships. This allowed the Derrians to begin landing their armies in the Dellitan City States which immediately began to take punitive action by ravaging the countryside. The Derrian Royal Army was composed of troops from all over Derria as the noble houses were called upon by the King to assist in the conflict. In response, the Triumvirate power began hiring on many mercenary companies to form their own army in order to oppose the Derrians which were burning, murdering, raping, pillaging, and plundering their way across Triumvirate territory. During this time there were many recorded instances of gross mistreatment, excessively cruelty, mass killings and all manner of atrocities towards the Dellitan people. All of it done under the orders and encouragement of Prince Hadrion and Saerion. A few set piece battles were fought resulting mostly in Derrian victories and only one major Derrian defeat at the Battle of Fatho. The war's conclusion came when the Derrian Royal Army decisively smashed the Triumvirate forces at the Battle of Addalia Valley. With their armies shattered, their lands in ruins and people scarred the Triumvirate powers hastily yielded to King Illethrion's terms, thus ending the conflict. Derrian shipping was secured and the Triumvirate powers left to rebuild.

During the war, Prince Hadrion was the Supreme Commander of the Royal Army and Navy. He was responsible for directing the overall Derrian strategy in the war's sea and land campaign. Prince Saerion commanded the Royal forces at a smaller level, fought in the front lines and was a symbol to the troops. Together, the two brothers led to Royal Army to its victory at Addalia Valley which ended the war. Prince Falion did not participate in the war directly but was responsible for financing the army and keeping it well supplied as the Derrians fought overseas. Alarion the Bastard played a large role in the conflict as well as he was in command of the Royal Army's scouts and provided crucial intelligence to his brothers despite being horrified at the atrocities committed under their orders. He fought in all the key battles leading minor commands in those.

This war is the precursor to War of the Princes. Across the seas and out of the sight from their father, the war coincidentally provided Saerion and Hadrion the opportunity to secretly secure the loyalties of the various Derrian nobles they fought alongside. With his more powerful brothers away at war, Falion did the same at home helped on with his control of the Royal Treasury.

As the Royal Army returned, the three Princes had now acquired considerable power bases unbeknownst to their father.

Took place 300 years ago. The bloodiest war in Derria to date and the precursor to the current conflict. Vedrion Wallstryn set out in a campaign that successfully subjugated the rest of Derria, save for the City of the Paragon and the Desert South. It established House Wallstryn as the ruling house of Derria. A position they have held until now. The war saw many great battles such as the Sacking of Sturmwall and the Battle of the Snowy Ford where the entire Vorzovian army was destroyed by Vedrion and King Dymitr VI of Vorzov knelt before him to give up his crown. Vedrion's Conquest ended with a united Derrian realm under Wallstryn rule.

Before Vedrion's conquest, Vorzov and Kursturm were always at odds. Ironic as they recently allied to fight against the Wallstryns. Vedrion was able to capitalize on the conflicts when he invaded and the two northern nations were still fighting each other.

An ancient war. Vorzov was not always populated by Vorzovians. The Ungols came first. A bloody conflict ensued when the first Vorzovians arrived. Eventually the Ungols were exterminated and the great house of Kazanowski was established. They remained the Kings of Vorzov for a few millennia until the arrival of Vedrion the Great.

Religious conflict between the Church of the Paragon and the old Spirit Worship religion has waned and waxed throughout the ages with the Church of the Paragon eventually gaining the upper hand. Spirit Worship is now a minority religion and those who practice it are looked down upon. For the past three hundred years the Wallstryns have outlawed the persecution of Spirit Worshipers and the two religions have been living in peace.

Geography

Derria is divided into 9 regions ruled by Great Houses. These are the most powerful and influential families in Derria. Culture and language across Derria is homogeneous. There are differences in the regions but these are considered subcultures of the greater Derrian culture. The only exception is the Desert South which has a far different culture (nomadic, bedouin like), speaks a different language and has never been brought into the fold by Vedrion or any other Derrian force north of the deserts. Derria has no standing professional army due to being a feudal system. Soldiers and Knights swear themselves to a noble, who's sworn to their lord and so and so forth all the way to the King. The nobility system of Derria includes, the King, Lords (Great Houses), Earls, Counts, Barons and Knights. Lords control an entire region and are sworn vassals to the King. Below them they have vassals of Earls, Counts and Barons. Earls have more land, wealth and power than Counts and Counts more so than Barons. Knights are at the bottom. They may be sworn to a noble of any ranking and may at times have lands of their own/field their own companies of soldiers. They may also be hedge knights which roam the kingdom in search of swordwork. It should be noted that all Earls, Counts, and Barons are sworn directly to a Lord. There are not Counts sworn to an Earl or Barons to a Count.

The Dellitan City States: A loose confederation of city states that can be likened to the Italian City States or the Free Cities in ASOIAF. Derria and the Dellitan City States are large trading partners with each other. Dellitan armies are mostly composed of the various mercenary companies prevalent in this area which vary in style, strength, training and composition. 170 years ago Derria went to war with Neris, Covine, and Torrence in a short but bloody conflict known as the War of the Pirate Cities. This "Triumvirate" of city states facilitated piracy in the Alesian Sea resulting in the disruption of the Derrian sea trade. King Illethrion answered by sending a Derrian Royal Fleet composed of ships from House Delacroix, Wallstryn, Helyanwe which overwhelmed and destroyed the disorganized "Triumvirate" fleet composed of pirate and mercenary ships. This allowed the Derrians to begin landing their armies in the Dellitan City States and immediately began to take punitive action by ravaging the cou
ntryside. The Triumvirate powers responded with hiring many mercenary companies to form their own army in order to oppose the Derrians which were burning, pillaging, and plundering their way across Triumvirate territory. A few set piece battles were fought resulting mostly in Derrian victories until the Derrian Royal Army finally smashed their forces at the Battle of Addalia Valley. With their armies shattered and their lands in ruins the Triumvirate powers hastily yielded to King Illethrion's terms, thus ending the conflict.

The Gaitanen Empire: The outer fringes of the Gaitanen Empire, a Chinese/Japanese like civilization. Little is known about the Gaitanen Empire to the Derrians and what is known is shrouded in legend. What is known is that the Empire is ruled by a very powerful and far away Empress.

Agrasca: is an Arabian like civilization ruled by sultans and emirs. A prominent Derrian trading partner. The geography of the land is similar to the middle east. Known for its luxury goods (silks, frankincense, spices etc.), strange but impressive architecture, beautiful cities, dreaded assassin guilds and formidable navy. The Agrascan civilization has also reached a slightly higher level of learning than the Derrians in regards to the sciences and the best physicians are trained in Agrasca. Feudalism is prevalent in Agrasca as well.

Miscellaneous

The King and his Lords: Derria has a very decentralized system of government. Lords rule their kingdoms with much discretion though the King still retains the power to pass laws and edicts which all of Derria must observe.

The Call to Arms:The King has the legal right to call any of his vassals to arms, including the other Great Houses to fight on his behalf. Failure or refusal to answer the call is high treason.

The King's Justice: A law passed by the Wallstryns. All those accused of crimes are accorded the right to plead their case before their liege lord or his appointed magistrates in a timely manner. Nobles are accorded the right of trial and adequate representation.

Slavery: Slavery has been an abhorred practice in Derria for ages and traditionally outlawed, even before the Wallstryns made it the written law of the realm.

"Edict of Slavery and Emancipation, King Vedrion I
The practice of slavery and trade of slaves in the land of Derria or by Derrian citizens abroad is henceforth outlawed under penalty of death. Any slave from foreign lands that successfully reaches Derrian shores, along with their children and further descendants, is declared a free person and Derrian citizen for life. As such, are to be accorded all rights and privileges bestowed upon all Derrians by the Crown as well as all rights and privileges a high noble has bestowed upon their people."

Persecution of Spirit Worshipers: Persecution of Spirit Worshipers have been outlawed by the Wallstryns for the past 300 years. It is a law they strictly enforce. Persecution of Spirit Worshipers is no longer the norm though they are still looked down upon.

"Edict of Religious Protection of Spirit Worshipers, King Vedrion I
All Spirit Worshipers are declared full Derrian citizens. To be accorded all rights and privileges as such. It shall be illegal to make any speech or written publication designed to incite violence or other crimes against Spirit Worshipers. No person shall be deprived of life, liberty or property on the basis of that they practice the religion known as Spirit Worship, or any of its forms. Evidence that a person is a Spirit Worshipers cannot be used against them in a provincial or royal court of law. Spirit Worshipers are to be accorded all rights and privileges a high noble of any province has bestowed on their people. No high noble of any province may enact laws or govern in a manner that has the purpose of discriminating against or disadvantaging Spirit Worshipers. This includes the areas of taxation, entrance to public places, conscription, commerce and trade. No merchant, guild, trade organization or similar institution may exercise practices unfair to Spirit Worshipers for which civil remedy in a royal court of law is available. . The only exception to this edict be that the Church of the Paragon may bar Spirit Worshipers from entering any of their legally owned premises. In which case only civil remedy is available.'"

Royal Tithes: All Great Houses pay a small royal tithe. This money is traditionally used for the benefit of the realm as a whole such as building roads in needed places and is kept separate from the Wallstryn coffers. Although Wallstryn Kings in the passed have misused this money. Right now, much of this money is being used to buy grain from the Dellitan City States in an effort to keep the price of food down and to feed the refugees.

Embargoes: No trading with the rebels.

"Edict of Embargo, King Telvion III
No person shall engage in the trade of goods or services with the rebellious provinces of Vorzov and Kursturm, Houses Kazanowski and Thorn or any of their known allies. Additionally, guilds, trading organizations, similar institutions and any entities will be held responsible for their members who violate this edict in a civil action."

Pardons: Any rebel nobles who surrender themselves to the Crown, swear fealty to the Wallstryn Crown and King Jestrion, and pay a minimum fine shall be pardoned and granted asylum.

"Edict of Pardon and Asylum, King Jestrion I
All bannerman of House Thorn and House Kazanowski, who have taken part in the unlawful rebellion of their liege lords shall have the right to receive full royal pardon for their crime of treason and asylum. Under the condition that they swear fealty to the Wallstryn Crown, that they recognize me and my succeeding heirs as the rightful King of Derria, that they in no way contribute to rebellion or disloyalty for the rest of their lives, and that they pay a sum of no less than One Thousand Crowns or equivalent currency to the Royal Treasury. The true sum to be at the discretion of the Crown's appointed royal magistrates. Pardon and asylum shall only be given if a bannerman surrender themselves of their own free will. Should they be captured in battle, their right to pardon and asylum is waived. In which circumstance their case will be decided by the King or by his appointed royal magistrates."

Year length is the same as in real life. The year in this game is measured by how long it has been since Vedrion's Conquest ended, hence AVC (After Vedrion's Conquest). Current year: 301 AVC

Halleon: what do you mean?

Arabic Spain: You need to reread the OP. There are no "War Chiefs". There is no island off the coast of Moutid (look at the map) and this RP is centered around Derria, the middle continent. Also, your descriptions are wayyyy too short.

Reposting my app with a minor edit to my position now

1478 (leave this in your app)
NS Nation Name: United Socialist Republics of Lupina
Name of House: Lollard
Banner of House (describe or post a picture)
Image
The white wolf in courant upon a sea of grey
Winter Brings Victory

Description of House: The House of Lollard is a recent addition to the few houses within Kurstrum. The lord of the manor is the recently knighted Ser Draco "The Black" Lollard, he and his younger brother Ser Jeffery "The White Wolf" were both named knights after earning their spurs in the Battle of Sturmwall and Krieger's Pass respectively. They were given the lands of a couple villages in the south with a couple small castles. Draco recieved his name from the way in which he gave no mercy to any noble that crossed him over the course of the battle. His younger brother is named after the sigil of his house and the long white cap and surcoat.
Only time will tell if Thorn will provide this house with more powers in his land, providing the Royalist forces do not prevail in the war.

If you were in part 1, brief description of what your house did: After being invested by King Balthazar Thorn of Kurstrum, the Lollards raided the southern army across Kurstrum and Vorzov, Jeremy slew an officer of the Hell's Henchmen. Once the siege of Cyron began, a combined force of Lollard, Thorn, and Vorzov soldiers attacked the royal army. Draco Lollard slayed Ser Jekyll Stain, leader of the Hell's Henchmen and vassal of the Wallstryn King. After the failed effort to relieve Cyron, Draco made efforts to get in Balthazar's good graces and to bring about the destruction of Earl Bulgovad. Draco was partially successful, after Balthazar defeated Bulgovad in a duel, he received Bulgovad's title and lands, but failing in his effort to remove the man. Draco and Jeremy returned with Balthazar to Kurstrum and have watched as his madness has enacted an inquisition of blood and death across the land. Draco currently is maneuvering himself into a position that Balthazar will not suspect him, all the while quietly schemes to remove Balthazar from his distant refuge in Rupoy't, whilst Jeremy remains honor-bound and trapped within Sturmwall doing Balthazar's bidding in fear for his life.

If not mentioned, brief description of House's relationship and feelings towards House Wallstryn: At war, but could care less about them regardless.

If not menioned, brief description of House's stance towards the rebels (Houses Kazanowski and Thorn):Thorn is their liege-lord, but due to Balthazar's madness, Kazanowski is viewed more happily.

Head of House (name, age, and sex):Draco, 27, male

Nobility Ranking (Lord, Earl, Count, Baron, Knight): Earl of Rupoy't

If not a Lord who are you a vassal to (wait for a few Great House apps before you answer): Thorn

Brief Description of Head of House (history, personality, appearance): Draco is the eldest son born to an old merchant family. He is tall, with dark eyes, medium length dark brown hair and has a pointed black beard, he is a very strong man and as such normally wields a large two-handed long-sword but may also wield a warhammer. He and his younger brother had not the sea salt in their blood like their father and set out to become men of higher class once they reached the age of 13 and 11 respectfully. Unlike his younger brother, Draco did not become a squire to a knight and instead joined a group of mercenary's as a camp follower before earning his sword by killing a man in armed combat. Draco was made a sworn sword to the House of Thorn from as early as the age of 17 after being paid by the ruling house to deal with a roaming band of brigands in the northern mountains. He henceforth acted as enforcer of the King's justice in the name of the House of Thorn as well as bodyguard to certain family members. He received a reputation as a harsh punisher of thieves and brigands, as well as rumored to have sired many bastards across Kurstrum. He is the second of his family to receive his knighthood after his younger brother Jeremy. He received his spurs for his part in vanquishing many royalists during the failed siege of Sturmwall, he also received his name from the apparent black stain upon his honor in not following the codes of chivalry and killing knights pleading for mercy. He was knighted and laid claim to his brothers newly named knightly House. His brother peacefully and happily bowed to his brother and made him knightly lord of the House.

Relevant House Members (names, age and sex):Jeremy, 25, male
Alice, 20, female (sister)
Harold, 17, male (bastard brother)

Brief Description of other most relevant House Members:Jeremy is average in height, has shoulder length golden brown hair and has light blue eyes. He is a muscular man, average in build for a knight, and generally wields a bastard hand-an-ahalf sword but is known to be capable with a jousting lance. Jeremy dreamed of becoming a knight ever since he was a little boy. When his brother ran off when he was 11 years old, Jeremy stayed behind seeing as his older brother felt he was too young to make his way in the world. Their father gave in to the fact that neither of his sons had any inkling to become merchants and to keep at least one of his sons alive, he sent Jeremy to become a page to one lowly knight named Ser Rufus Karth. It would be from him where he learned the martial arts of being a knight and the code of chivalry, though much can be said that about how far chivalry is actually observed. He would become his squire in the years to come and would be apart of his retinue in the years to come. Jeremy would fight in the Battle of Krieger's Pass along with Ser Karth among Balthazar's personal cavalry. He fought with bravery and killed many Royalists, sadly, his master and the few men in his retinue all fell and Jeffery was lucky to get out of the battle alive. He would receive his knighthood from a drunk Balthazar and dubbed with a bloody sword. It was he who took up the sigil of his house but he honored his brothers right of birth and gave him the right to claim himself lord of the House of Lollard.

Name of the Land your house rules over: Rupoy't

Land Claim if a Great House(1-5):

Geography (Climate must match your position on the map. North is colder, south is hotter): Rupoy't is the northern most land in Kurstrum and thus is colder, and experiences longer, harsher winters than most other places. Though not as populated as further south, it is the last refuge of civilization in the north. It is mildly fertile in the brief warm seasons available but is dominated by either rocky terrain or deep forests.

RP sample (1-3):(Sorry, I just don't like RPing with people who post too short, are too ridiculous, or have bad writing skills. Delete in your app please.) I believe my history in the last rp speaks for itself, along with my sig.

Notes (anything else you want to add):

Brief Description of House:
The House of Lollard is a recent addition to the few houses within Kurstrum.

If not mentioned, brief description of House's relationship and feelings towards House Wallstryn: The House has cares little for the Walltryn's
Head of House (name, age, and sex): Draco, 27, male
Nobility Ranking (Lord, Earl, Count, Baron, Knight): Baron of Rupoy't
If not a Lord who are you a vassal to (wait for a few Great House apps before you answer): House of Thorn
Brief Description of Head of House (history, personality, appearance):
Draco is the eldest son born to an old merchant family. He is tall, with dark eyes, medium length dark brown hair and has a pointed black beard, he is a very strong man and as such normally wields a large two-handed longsword but may also wield a warhammer. He recieved a reputation as a harsh punisher of thieves and brigands, as well as rumored to have sired many bastards across Kurstrum. He is the second of his family to recieve his knighthood after his younger brother Jeffery. He recieved his spurs for his part in vanquishing many royalists during the failed siege of Sturmwall, he also recieved his name from the apparent black stain upon his honor in not following the codes of chivalry and killing knights pleading for mercy. He was knighted and laid claim to his brothers newly named knightly House. His brother peacefully and happily bowed to his brother and made him knightly lord of the House.

Relevant House Members (names, age and sex):
Jeffery, 25, male
Alice, 20, female (sister)
Harold, 17, male (bastard brother)

Brief Description of other most relevant House Members:
Jeffery is average in height, has shoulder length golden brown hair and has light blue eyes. He is a muscular man, average in build for a knight, and generally wields a bastard hand-an-ahalf sword but is known to be capable with a jousting lance. Jeffery dreamed of becoming a knight ever since he was a little boy. When his brother ran off when he was 11 years old, Jeffery stayed behind seeing as his older brother felt he was too young to make his way in the world. Their father gave in to the fact that neither of his sons had any inkling to become merchants and to keep at least one of his sons alive, he sent Jeffery to become a page to one lowly knight named Ser Rufus Karth. It would be from him where he learned the martial arts of being a knight and the code of chivalry, though much can be said that about how far chivalry is actually observed. He would become his squire in the years to come and would be apart of his retinue in the years to come. Jeffery would fight in the Battle of Krieger's Pass along with Ser Karth among Balthazar's personal calvary. He fought with bravery and killed many Royalists, sadly, his master and the few men in his retinue all fell and Jeffery was lucky to get out of the battle alive. He would recieve his knighthood from a drunk Balthazar and dubbed with a bloody sword. It was he who took up the sigil of his house but he honored his brothers right of birth and gave him the right to claim himself lord of the House of Lollard.

There's a new thing you need to add. See the new app format I posted. You are already accepted of course but please do that.

NS Nation Name: Halleon

Organization: The Church of the Paragon

Land Claim: The Church holds dominion over the City State known as the City of the Paragon.

Identification Number to find this: 1478

Banner: Burning Star upon a White Background.

History of the Church and Current Status:
The Controller of the Dominant Religion within Derria is the Church of the Paragon that has ordain that the faith is focused around a supreme deity known as the Paragon whose believers and followers shall be rewarded by earning the right to reign in the heavens at the feet of the throne of the Paragon. Those that deny the true faith and even those that commit sin without repentance shall burn for eternity in the fiery pits of hell to repay their debt to those they wronged but also for forsaking their creator and father. In the days of old the Power of the Church was unchecked and unrivaled for its abilities to wage Holy War against those that refused to accept the true faith that is the Paragon. These heathens are known as Spirit Worshipers who in the eyes of the Church deserve no mercy for their refusal to bow to the Paragon. History between the Faith of the Paragon and Spirit Worshiping has been a long and bloody one with both sides fighting against another to gain supremacy in the Lands of Derria.

As time progressed it would be the Church that would raise to supremacy over the Spirit Worshipers causing those that cling to the false ways of Spirit Worshiping to become the minority within Derria. Throughout what could be called the known World it is commonly known that the Church of the Paragon does not bow easily or even truly bow to any King or Earthly Power, this is something that even the Conqueror Vedrion the Great had to realize and accept for the Holy City of the Paragon has never been fallen. The Holy City of the Paragon serves as a beacon to followers of the Paragon who make pilgrimages to the City to worship in its World Famous temples dedicated to the supreme god. It is said that the city has no rival for it has been constructed to represent the glory and supreme power of the Paragon. Serving as a mixture of being beyond its time but also as a fortress to prevent any power besides the Paragon from ruling over the City.

The Divine Accord offers the Church and City protection from any possible invader or attacker for bloodshed within the Walls of the City is among the greatest sins one can commit in the eyes of the followers of the Paragon which would invoke a strong response from the faithful causing those within power such as the Crown to honor the agreement known as the Divine Accord which gives the Holy City its independence and ensuring the establishment of it being a City State. In the past and even today the Crown has tried to restrict the power of the Church yet that is no easy task for the Church has proven difficult to truly control or even manage for when certain lines are crossed those anger the Holy Power shall find excommunication and even economical ruin.

Supreme does the Church serve as the Kingdoms main source of banking and they are also masters of trade often manipulating the prices of common and even rare goods flowing within and without the lands. The Church still has a strong grip upon the affairs of loaning and the matters of trade much to the dismay of the Crown who has attempted to loosen that grip. Common dealings with the Banking Houses overseas has seen a small conversation among foreigners to the faith of the Paragon but Church's and Temples established in far away lands tend to serve the purpose of loaning and banking establishments while giving licensed merchants the right to trade in the name of the Paragon.

Leader of the Church: The Patriarch of the Church rules with a iron hand over the City State of the Paragon and that of the faithful, his divine will is that of the Paragon, and it is said that he has been chosen by the god himself to reign over the flock as a Shepard to protect those of the faith from themselves and their enemies. When the Head Priest Mariak assumed the title and role of Patriarch it became clear that the ambitious priest had the support among his brethren and even the love of the people for the termination of the position of Head Priest would serve as a testament of his political and religious will in his views towards the Crown. These slightly Anti-Crown views would lead to the Church supporting a opposing candidate to the seat of a Great House which led to the establishment of the Merchant Banking Charter only causing the support for Mariak to grow greatly within the Church. The rift and divine between Church and Crown has begun to grow even more greatly visible causing many of the clergy to begin to grow weary of the Crown and to even voice the end of neutrality of taking sides in the civil war however the true intentions of Mariak are only known by himself.

Notable Characters of the Church

Ser Knight Oris- The Holy Knight and Commander of the Guardians is none other then the blood brother of the Patriarch Mariak, it is commonly known that the two brothers are very close but it is Oris that holds a great sense of devotion and blind loyalty to his older brother. However he is famous throughout Derria as a renown warrior of the faith.

Will add more when I find names and positions of those mentioned in IC and even add some new characters.

Note: This is a work in progress and change should be expected.

Well … To summarize what I have just told Damak Var; I would like to join this RP with my previous house and land but I am not sure I can contribute anything to it given how politically and socially isolated my characters/house was in the last RP.

Would you be interested in IC interaction with the Church then? I plan on getting more involved then last time in whatever way I can and if Damak is cool with it then maybe even launching a over seas crusade or something along that line, if that ideal is ruled out then hopefully the House Hubleris Succession Crisis can still happen so I can convince your house to support the Church supported candidate which you would be rewarded for of course.

I would be interested in interacting with anyone and anything to get properly involved in this RP. My house are pagan but good at pretending and with one notable exception pragmatics (cynics) to the core so they might support a crusade in the hope of winning brownie points with a potential ally only to do their best to establish crusader states for themselves.

As for the Hubleris Succession Crisis I was pinning a lot of my hopes on a more active role for my house on involving myself in that so if it could reemerge as a theme in this arc that would be wonderful.

I like the idea but would rather get everybody involved in the same general conflict. Not necessarily the loyalist v. rebel fight (though this is the best way I think) but the general fall of Derria into chaos and war. Maybe as a side thing?

Work in progress

Postby Of the Quendi » Sat Dec 28, 2013 2:25 pm

1478 (leave this in your app)
NS Nation Name: of the Quendi
Name of House: Illionae-Aenaea, called Illionae outside their domain but Aenaea within. Illionae refers to their general clan while Aenaea is the specific cadet branch. The House is thus never called Illionae and Aenaea at the same time. Other names has been used as well.
Banner of House (describe or post a picture)
Image

Description of House: The House was founded by Aeneas the Firecrowned, a Prince of the Illion tribe in the Fire lands, far from Derria where the House first rose to prominence as a Princely family. Seafarers and merchants, the lords of Aenaea came into contact with Palaeosia a century ago and eventually began trading with House Delacroix. Two generations ago House Delacroix found themselves faced with serious money trouble and turned to the wealthy House of Aeneae. A marriage was arranged between a daughter of House Delacroix and a very young Aeneaean Prince, Aemoniel Aeneae, heir to the Aeneaean dynasty who gave House Delacroix a very (very) generous bride price, in exchange for which he was created Count Palatine of Palaeosia.

Prince, now Count, Aemoniel, along with a number of young Illionae knights then settled in Palaeosia where they quickly earned the disapproval of the rest of that land, including the Count's own in-laws, who made no secret of the fact that they hated having given Aemoniel a bride of their House for money.

Aemoniel proved himself quite adept at maneuvering in a land where he was deemed a foreign and his House quickly prospered. They quickly became leading in much of the mercantile and seafaring efforts of Palaeosia and often presented unorthodox and novel solutions to the problems facing the land, yet remained fairly obscure.

Until House Delacroix went extinct. Aemoniel, now nearing the end of his life, fathered four children with his Delacroix wife prior to her death. The oldest living of his true-born sons, Aeraeriel, is now the legitimate heir to the Delacroix's and Lord of Palaeosia, and Aemoniel will do anything to secure his son's inheritance.
If you were in part 1, brief description of what your house did: In part 1 the previous ruling family of Palaeosia, the House of Delacroix went extinct leaving the eldest son of Linda Delacroix, Sir Aeraeriel Aeneae the unexpected Lord of Palaeosia. His father the Count Palatine of Aenaeanost quickly set about to secure his family's hold over the country being appointed Chancellor of Palaeosia. In his efforts to consolidate his family's power the Count Palatine soon found his own family the greatest threat and liability as the flamboyance, excesses, defiance and internal strive between the four children of the Count Palatine threatens to bring their house crashing down.

At the same time the armies of Palaeosia deployed to assist the Crown suppressing the northern rebellion was greatly demoralized by the demise of the House of Delacroix. Their commander Baron Roland Delacroix, a distant relation of the Delacroix's with a dodgy claim on the Lordship of Palaeosia, set about to seat himself on the Seastone Chair, finding much support from the anti-Illionae nobles of his army most notably Count Hector Malatesta who facilitated contact with the Earl of Firania, the most powerful vassal of the Lord of Palaeosia. Only the Master of Horse, an Illionae allied with House Aeneae was reluctant to betray the Aenaea.

All who ever supported Baron Roland's decision to defect from the Royal Army at Cyron. Abandonning the loyalist forces the Baron and his allies are racing towards Palaeosia where they hope to join forces with the Earl of Firania and depose House Aenaea, threatening to cast Palaeosia into civil war.

In the mean time the famed Palaeosian navy is besieging Visengrad and Sturmwall, harrying with impunity to coasts of the lands of Vorzov and Kursturm. With the navy is Sir Uraeziel Aenaea, the middle son of the Count Palatine who hopes to rise in the naval hierarchy of Palaeosia as he departs for negotiations with the House of Kazanowski.
If not mentioned, brief description of House's relationship and feelings towards House Wallstryn: Mildly disapproving
If not menioned, brief description of House's stance towards the rebels (Houses Kazanowski and Thorn): Mildly approving but presently at war with
Head of House (name, age, and sex): Count Palatine Aemoriel IV Aeneae, Prince of the Illionae (61) and Aeraeriel Aeneae, Lord of Palaeosia (25) jointly
Nobility Ranking (Lord, Earl, Count, Baron, Knight): Lord
If not a Lord who are you a vassal to (wait for a few Great House apps before you answer): N/A
Brief Description of Head of House (history, personality, appearance): Lord Aemoriel IV Aenaea, Prince of the Illionae, Count Palatine of Aenaeanost and Chancellor of the Palaeosian Court was born in the faraway Kingdom of Arayan, west of Agrasca, the younger son of one of the richest and most powerful Princes of that land. He was given a comprehensive education in all matters deemed worthy for an Aenaean prince but as a younger son was not expected to ever rise high in Arayan society.

When Aemoriel was very young news however reached his father through the Illionae merchants that had grown numerous in western Palaeosia that a Lord Delacroix was on the verge of ruin. Seeing a chance to advance his younger son's station in the world Aemoriel's father promised to pay the Delacroix debts in exchange for Aemoriel receiving a Delacroix bride and lands in the territory of the Delacroix's; Palaeosia.

The deal was accepted. At the tender age of thirteen Aemoriel was sent to Palaeosia to marry a woman he had never met. With him came many brothers and younger sons of Illionae nobles.

      1. Sir Maekar Juniae (22), her fiancé, heir to House Juniae
    7. Baron Vaeriel Haerkonae (55); his cousin; head of House Haerkonae, Shield of the Frontier
Brief Description of other most relevant House Members: WIP
Name of the Land your house rules over: Palaeosia
Land Claim if a Great House(1-5): 1
Geography (Climate must match your position on the map. North is colder, south is hotter): Mediterranean climate conditions and forests everywhere, the Delacroix prefer to let wood grow to then use it for their ships, sometimes at the expenses of giving the population more agricultural camps (but not objecting to spices and rare products). The coasts are mostly filled with rocks except for specific points where building a port is possible, places that the Delacroix transformed into naval fortress and basic production of their ships. (doesn't really fit the north = cold ; south = warm thing but it was what we went with last time. Some sort of warm ocean current reaches Palaeosia from the south?)
RP sample (1-3): A Game of Thrones RP, Perhaps my best P2M work, The work that partially inspired the one before

I'm sure we can work something out that is interesting but doesn't distract anyone from the Civil War happening so the Crusade could just be more of a trade dispute between the Church or maybe even Derria with one of the Trade Cities causing some kind of naval and land battle to happen. Seems like most of the Great Houses are pagan though which should keep any possible Crusade as a side thing and even then most are busy fighting against each other.

If the Succession Crisis is revived then we can just focus on that and the Church would give major brownie points for securing it for the right candidate kinda wanting to establish something like a stewardship over that land or at least a section of it. I'm open to any ideals for interaction though that anyone might have.

Edit: Reminds me that I still need to secure possible settlements for the refugees for possible relocation.

I'd be ok with a crusade if you did it that way. Perhaps with Agrasca instead? Palaeosia is closer to there anyways. There is already lore of this world of Derria's interaction with the Dellitan City States. TKS was never finished but everything that happened is added to the lore of this RP. I'm seeing if Ublia wants to continue participating for the Succession Crisis plotline. Otherwise, I'd rather give the new applicant as much of a blank slate as I can.

Hopefully Ublia is interested and if not I understand about trying to give someone as much of a blank slate as possible makes things easier to get people to join. Possible Crusade or conflict with Agrasca is fine with me I was leaning towards that area because its closer and if anyone else is interested the it sounds like a good ideal to me.

1478 (leave this in your app)
NS Nation Name: The National Dominion of Hungary

Name of House: House Kazanowski

Banner of House: Roaring bears head (profile) on red background.

Description of House: Once the undisputed lords and rulers of the free kingdom of Vorzov before their nation was subjugated by the Wallstyn kings. House Kazanowski is of truly ancient blood, having ruled Vorzov for milennia before Dymitr VI, The King who knelt, finally offred his crown up to Vedrion the Great after the Vorzovian army was completely destroyed in the Battle of the Snowy Ford. House Kazanowski can trace itself far, far back into the Age of Darkness. Indeed, they may be the oldest noble house still alive and still ruling. The Kazanowskis are a wealthy, powerful and extremly, almost absurdely proud family, upholdig customs and traditions native to Vorzov that predate the founding of the Wallstryn throne. Some even belive that they still dream of the crown they once held... Something that proved true...

If you were in part 1, brief description of what your house did: The House of Kazanowski had bowed and scraped before the Wallstryn upstarts for three centuries. This ancient bloodline, humiliated. Their country and people plundered by the royal tithes, forced into battle when they call their royal armies. Finally it has come to an end, as Lord Mikhail did what his forfathers had planned for many, many years. What would have been done earlier when the Wallstryns were slaughtering each-other in the War of Princes by the then-Lord Bozydar Kazanowski, who alas, due to unfortunate circumstances was forced to march alongside Prince Hadrion through the war. However no unfortunate circumsatnces got in the way of Mikhail´s plans. Those he had made alongside Lord Balthazar Thorn, those that would return House Kazanowski and Vorzov to it´s proper place. However, in the fray of battle at Ankhour when Lord Thorn slew Prince Galvion, the first point on the list. He did it in a highly inappropriate way. The result of the Murder forced Mikhail to rethink his plan, and that he did.

The Thorn´s desperate for Vorzov to send the promised aid sent an ambassador to Visegrad, the young Earl of Rupoy´t Bulgovad Yusupova who met with the Lady Beata and she managed to presuade him to swear fealty to her House. And thus was formed the Commonwealth of Two Nations. Voivode Drogodar Kazanowski marched with Lord Governor Bulgovad at the head of an expeditionary force sent to bolster the defence of the Kursturmer Capital, and to cement Yusupova´s power over the old Northern nation in the east. After the victory at Sturmwall, the war turned into a chase, as the armies of Vorzov, and later parts of Kursturm chased the Royal Army through their homelands as the Southrons once again murdered, plundered, raped and burned their way through their homelands. While Mikhail and Drogodar marched their armies forward, converging on the Jester and his dogs while Princess Beata led the light cavalry raiding the Royal Army, giving them no rest.

At the same time, the ancient capital of Vorzov was in dire peril, but thanks to the bravery and sacrifice of the Vorzovian navy and the indominable spirits of it´s people, they men, women and children of Visegrad repelled the invaders with aid from the Kursturmer Expeditionary Force under the command of Baron Donner saved the city from sacking. But alas, things would take a turn for the worse as the unfied might of the Commonwealth, eager for vengence descended upon the Jester King´s pathetic excuse for an army... and were beaten. And now as winter surrounds them, the King and his subjects are hard at work forming and solidifying the Commonwealth, and rebuilding what was lost to the hated invaders.

Head of House: High King Mikhail Kazanowski (M, 38)

Nobility Ranking: High King.

Brief Description of Head of House (history, personality, appearance): King, previously Lord Mikhail Serwacy Kazanowski rules the lands of Vorzov with the hard but fair hand with which his father ruled before him. Some might call him a tyrant, while other say simply a ruler who belives that order and discipline are neccessities if any land wishes to thrive and prosper. Lord Kazanowski may not be the most perfect example of chivalry in the kingdom, as he is a man capable of both showing great kindness to some, and at the same time great cruelty to others. He is a large, powerful man. The champion of several tournays. He has the typical sharp features, black hair and blue eyes of the Kazanowskis. His truest strengh however is as a statesman and strategist. While not in the least missing a sense of honor and good. He is a man whose focus is on the greater good, and sometimes, questionable things must be done in order to reach the greater good. He is very, very diligent, a man with great plans and great visions, his duty to Vorzov coming above most other things. He is a man raised in the image of his Father.

He is a master strategist, warrior and battle commander, renowned throughout Derria.
Beata Kazanowska: The oldest child and heiress of Vorzov. Taught first and formost the arts of rulership, stewardship and battle command, groomed by her father to one day become a capable lady and ruler over the domains of their house. Lady, now Princess Beata may be young, but has proven resourceful and cunning, and is a renowned beauty, graceful, with piercing blue eyes and raven-black hair raised by her Father to follow in his footsteps.
Rebeka Kazanowska: A strikingly beautiful temptress surrounding herself with many pleasures and the fine things in life. She is headstrong, shrewd, wilful, and hot-tempered.

Name of the Land your house rules over: Vorzov and parts of Kursturm as High Kings of the North.

Land Claim if a Great House(1-5): Outlined in chapter one.

Geography: The Northern land of Vorzov, chilled and rugged, to the uninformed outsider the name of this land only conjures up images of snow, mud, dark forests and windswept plains. While there is truth in this, the people of this realm know their home as a land of breathtaking vistas, mighty rivers and above all a place of honor. It is a land where heroes are made, crafted in the embrace of their country. To know Vorzov, it to know the Vorzovians. A tall and sturdy race, well suited for the climate of the land they call home, if their pale skin, blue eyes and dark hair does not give them away, then their customs and way of thought surely will.

The south of the Kingdom, being positioned at the end of the temperate band is more fertile and consists of flatlands, rolling hills and small forest groves. The southern posads are the breadbasket of Vorzov, with short, harsh winters but also long, cool summers and a long growing season. Farmed by the Boyars´ serfs, free gentlemen farmers and the wealthy non-noble landowners known as Gospodars. The further north you come the less fertile and more elevated the land become in the form of hills and low mountains, It´s foothills are heavily forested in connection with the large boreal forests covering central Vorzov. The center is prone to long winters and short, but pleasant summers. The northernmost parts feature scatterd forests, hills dotted with ancient Ungol ruins, and cold grass plains, these lands are home to a few homesteads scraping whatever crops they can from the meagre soil. It is also the home of the nomadic kozzar clans, constanly moving their herds from one grazing ground to another. In late autumn and winter, powerful storms sweep in to buffet the region and make the coasts dangerous to approch by ship in those seasons.

Vorzov is a wealthy Kingdom. On the coasts fishermen haul in plentiful catches, whalers bring in the massive beast to be butchered in the whaleyards of the Northern Coasts and port cities provide a wealth of trade. The lands of Vorzov are rich in terms of minerals and lumber. And thus many skilled craftsmen and hardy woodsmen inhabit the whole realm. Indeed the Vorzovians are known for their craft goods, armor, weapons, furniture, stonework, jewelry and more. The Kazanowski family rule from the menacing Frozen Citadel, perching above the port city of Visegrad since time immemorial.

Plotek i medialnych bredni nie daj sobie wmówić,
Codziennie się rozwijaj i nie daj się ogłupić,
Atakowi propagandy stawiaj czoło dzielnie,
Nie daj sobą sterować i myśl samodzielnie.

Mass Effect Andromeda is a solid 7/10. Deal with it.
