The year is 2020(still modern tech), and the world has fallen into the pits of Hell, as the dark emperor Xenthros conquered all of the world with his demonic army of fiends. The only thing that can possibly save the world from disaster is the Mournblade, a powerful sword that consumes the soul of whoever it kills, but at a cost. The Mournblade will continuously corrupt the soul of its wielder and cause them to go on a murderous rampage.

Xenthros wants the blade to become the most powerful being in the universe. With it, he can defeat anyone who gets in his way and finally have complete domination. Who will be brave enough to rise up and destroy Xenthros and his evil army before they get the Mournblade?

STRENGTHS: magic, strong armor, army of demons at his command, combat, tactics
WEAKNESSES: arrogance, weak defense, long range
BIO: Born from the darkness in man's heart, Xenthros grew from a fragile child to the most powerful warrior in the Kingdom of God(non-denominational) by training with his mentor, Severus Mondol. Severus was proud of how Xenthros improved in the next 14 years, but the King saw that Xenthros had been getting too strong too fast. Over the next few years, Xenthros became the Captain of the Gaurd, but was not satisfied. He desired to become more powerful. He went up to the King and demanded for a share of territory, but the King refused. Furious Xenthros attacked. Severus tried to fight Xenthros, but Xenthros had gotten too powerful and Severus was killed.

The King defeated Severus and banished him to Hell, where Xenthros would remain for all eternity. Xenthros waited for ages to make his return, and finally has.

So this is a fantasy RP in the modern world? What sort of rules/expectations do you have for characters in it then?

I expect tough characters that can stand up to the demonic army in some way or another. I'm also expected atleast one religious character.

For villians, I expect loyal followers that are willing to serve Xenthros. Also, a character that goes against Xenthros to take the power for him/her self.

You can also have a magician if you want.

What about backstory? Has there always been a fantasy element to this world or is it something new? Would most characters be primarily familiar with a realistic world or would ideas like the Mournblade be familiar to them as well?

Magical elements are new to this world. People would be familiar with the Mournblade, but very few would believe it exists.

STRENGTHS: very strong, fast runner, quick aim and good shot.
WEAKNESSES: Very errogant. Shows much sympothy
BIO: Major Drough was a soldier in the Marines of a once powerful nation which has been reduced to nothing by these new armies. Drough was promoted to Lt. Colonel just before the incident, and is still hoping something can be done. The only place still held by the former nation is a small city on a island named Haven. He serves loyally and is one of the few remaining marines in action. He has heard of the new dark threat, and him and his team gladly accepted the mission to intercept him and destroy him if possible. He commands one of the 3 battalions left of Marines, but will only take his Squad of 13 men into combat. He hopes to gain more intel and kill the threat long before arrival.

STRENGTHS: strategic, strong, has lots of money
WEAKNESSES: he is bad when it comes to teamwork, and he is not a calm person (the slightest thing can cause him to overreact)
BIO: He came from a rich family, after Xenthros came to power, most of his family was killed. He wants revenge against Xenthros. (short bio but to the point)

BIO: Palaxin's backstory is messy at best. He arrived with Xenthros mysteriously. He is responsible for the massacre of hundreds of demons in the outlands. Paladin has bested anyone he has come into conflict with. Whenever he arrives, he disappears instantly.

I usually wait for about 8. Let me say that this RP isn't really my thing, but seeing you are new and tged me, and stuff, I'll help you with this. I may or may not get an app up today.

WEAPONS: M4 Carbine, M1911 pistol, Bowie knife, old broadsword found at the fort
STRENGTHS: Good with fire arms and close combat
WEAKNESSES: over zealous, shows mercy (both strength and weakness)
BIO: once in the marines of a large nation, most of his unit was slaughtered by the demonic army when they came. With most of them dead and the entire nation almost conquered. 50 marines with 120 civilians retreated to a island which contained two colonial fortresses. The is land seemed to be one of the last places that were spared from the demons but that could end soon due to the islands close proximity to the main land. He now spends his days watching for any demons hoping to protect the people on the island from the demonic army.

Ok, I think I will just have it be Malta for now since the people would b more worried about staying alive than the name. I may decide to change it later

APPEARANCE: Servenbras is extremely tall and thin. Having spent most of his life indoors he is gaunt and pale. His hair is black and cut short. His eyes are pale and colourless. He typically dresses in a suit and tie.
WEAPONS: Servenbras carries an assortment of daggers which he can use proficiently.
STRENGTHS: Extreme cunning, Vast knowledge of the occult, Considerable resources
WEAKNESSES: Despite his weapons skills he is physically weak. He thinks he is considerably more cunning and knowledgeable than he really is.
BIO: Richard Servenbras was born to a moderately wealthy family. He proved highly skilled in business and multiplied his family's wealth many times over. At the age of thirty, he became reclusive, and left the day to day management of his business to others. Increasingly he became obsessed with the occult. When Xenthros returned he too returned to public life, using his wealth and knowledge of the supernatural to help fight the demon army. (But secretly he worships Xenthros, believing under him capable of offering far more than any of the forces of good. Since before the start of the war he has been seeking the Mournblade and has been feeding information on the resistance to him from the beginning.)
