The nation in Brazil is dubbed, at least by us, 'the Empire of Nova Byzantium' or 'the Empire of Nova Roma'. Basically, during the Forth Crusade - which ended both the Ottomans and Byzantines - the Byzantine Emperor, along with his most trusted kinsmen and countrymen, escaped from their burning city in the thick black night during the Final Siege of Constantinople. Their ships head east, and landed in the New World. (Year not figured out yet. 1420 perhaps?). They quickly abandoned their old faith in favour of the ancient Greek beliefs, mixed with the native ones of the region. It's now an Feudal (probably) Monarchy where the Emperor and clergy are seen as gods in and of themselves, with a Greek upper-class and native/immigrant populous. They still have the secret of Greek Fire.

The nation in Quebec is an ex-Burgundian colony. Never got around to a name, but it would be a mix of Dutch and French in naming style. It has a few big cities in place of Quebec, Montreal and Halifax, with a decently large population. Not much else except that it won a war of independence against the Burgundians. Most of it's history is up to the player.

They can't. If they conquer any more than their claims, there will be consequences.

The Dual Kingdom would possibly be interested in an Anglo-French-Polish Alliance.

I was talking about the wine-purple on the American East Coast.

I was actually thinking of making that be either a New Burgundy a English colony that got independence. That nation would be able to have anyone's choice at history.
*Huzzah he lives!*

Nah, son. Britain was all like "yo, why my colonies be all uppity an' shit?!" And Lord Durham laid it straight: "they be wantin' legislation with representation, dawg."

Never heard of it.
Even after their entire Empire was sacked by their own religious kin? I think an event as traumatic as that would be enough for at least the Emperor to think that the true Gods had given him a warning.

I'm interested in the Neo-Byzantines, but I'd like to have them Christian, with their own Patriarch, but still mixing in the native religions.
AH, PMT, some FT.

Your test scores indicate that you are an open-minded ultra-progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a journalist. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a generally optimistic attitude towards humanity in general.
Your attitudes towards economics appear neither committedly capitalist nor socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a liberal.
To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a considerate idealistic egalitarian with many strong convictions.

Speaking of such, Calt, mind drafting up some rules that we may need with regards to "cores, claims, and CB's" or the three C's of colonization?

Ugh.

Well, I'll lay it out simply;

Cores are areas considered to be an integral part of a nation. For example, IOTL, New York would be a core of the USA and Kent would be a core of the UK. Cores are ever-lasting, and will only disappear if the nation which holds the cores either drops them or vanishes into the dustbin of history. Cores can be taken by nations with little to no penalty, and can be integrated remarkably quickly into the nation which has conquered them.

Claims are, in essence, fabricated cores. For example, IOTL, the English claim to France would be a (excessively large) claim. Claims lose their value after a year or so, due to their fabricated nature. They allow land to be taken, but only by paying a light toll on international reputation. They can be integrated at a 'meh' rate.

A Casus Beli, or CB for short, is a latin for 'Cause of War'. It is what it sounds like, an example IOTL would be that in the Franco-Prussian War, the French CB for war was a Diplomatic Insult. There are various CBs, with some being unique to nations. For example, Aleyska has a 'Manifest Destiny' CB, allowing it to take land from native nations for little to no penalty.
CB's;
-Reclamation of a Core
-Pushing of a Claim
-Response to a Diplomatic Insult
-Liberation of Lands (Exclusive to HRE and PIL states, only applies to claimed territory of the HRE and PIL respectively)
-Manifest Destiny (Exclusive to Aleyska)
-Uplifting of Natives (Exclusive to Western nations for use against non-Western nations)
-Unification of the Subcontinent (Exclusive to the three Indian Nations against one another)
-Liberation (Liberate a nation from another nation)
-Acquisition of Resource-Lands (Exclusive to Japan and Korea, for use against uncivilized Far East/Pacific nations with more resources than them)

As for colonization, do you wanna post it Buj?

Also, I'll get (or, if necessary, fabricate) some kind of casus belli in order to 'liberate' Venezuela's coastal lands. ;)
