Where there was once a planet there is now nothing.
The void of space, at least this part of that void, is now emptiness in its purest form. The nearest star light years away, there is nothing relatively nearby. In the common definition of nearby, at least.
All the peoples of Earth, from every nation, every city and every individual home, killed in what was only seconds of firepower shooting towards the center of the planet. With the entirety of the planet died the Human culture, its nations and traditions, the wonders it's built and the advancements it's made. One could almost feel bad for the entirety of mankind if one could ignore the fact that mankind brought about its own demise. For years great thinkers had made that very prediction, that with power unfathomable to a simple mortal man we would bring upon ourselves utter destruction of our race, the entire planet even. It had happened before and it happened on this world too.
Just because the race itself is gone though, off into the void or whatever afterlife awaits them, doesn't mean that a certain group of beings have to go with them. These ladies and gentlemen have a special afterlife lined up just for their kind. The representatives of entire nations and the whimsically silly, loveable, charming and at times serious figureheads of the world's nations, large and small, cultured and barbaric, their nations personified.
Because that's what this is all about, right? Representing the nations of the world and their relationships with one another, all through charming dialogues and enchanting interaction!
So what's happened to our characters of the last world? They find themselves in an odd little place called the afterlife, surrounded by nations of old, some familiar. Each of these unique personalities are gathered in the afterlife, but the nations already there aren't all that enthusiastic about them all joining them eternally at the same time - mostly because they get all of their entertainment from watching the affairs down on Earth. Now, the olden empires have other plans for the youngest batch of personifications...
Lance was aware of his surroundings, but there wasn't much to be aware of. Whiteness and the figures of ancient and not-so-ancient nations before him. The others of his own time period were present too, but they weren't aware of each other - only the long passed personifications before them. If they tried to speak they would find themselves unable to, and moving was impossible as it didn't even appear that they had a physical body to move.
"I think it's quite simple, we make another world to send them back into." came the voice from a familiar fellow, the Old Earth nations could identify the figure that was speaking as Britain, as proper as ever, even in death. His sharp uniform, the red coat with black trim and shining gold buttons, along with the tricorn he wore, made him appear as though he were in the prime of his life. Behind the Englishman was an ensemble of empires and smaller nations - Greece, Persia, The Mongol Empire, Japan, Germany (with Italy close behind), Rome, Russia, though no one knew just where Canada was. Or at least they would if they bothered to notice him.
"Say old chaps, don't some of these belong to us?" Britain said, kneeling to inspect a variety of objects on the ground before them. A katana, Lance's saber, fabric from Russia's scarf.
"Yes, they are descended from some of us after all." Persia spoke up, earning something of a glare from Britain.
"Let us hurry before America shows up prease." Japan's soft tone broke in.
"Right, let's begin then." Britain agreed, standing and turning to his fellow nations. "I think the course of action is quite clear, as I said earlier." Britain began. "We'll just create an Earth and send them back, right?"
"I think we should condemn their souls to damnation for all eternity. This one has become so big and scary, I hope that he maintained the gulags or I might have to lock him in one." Russia suggested with a sweet grin to accompany his referencing of the dinosaur that was visible to them, causing Britain to tremble visibly. "I-I think we're better off sending them back."
"That much is clear, but what about that one? Releign or whatever he's called. Germany's descendant. He continually destroys our worlds." Persia spoke up again, retrieving a swastika armband from the ground before them. "Perhaps if Germany had properly raise--"
"Oh don't get started!" Germany shouted at this, visibly irritated. "I must agree though, it is a problem." he conceded with something of a shameful nod.
"I think we should limit their...technologies, to a degree." Britain spoke up again. "Simply land them in the middle of, say, a 18th or 19th century world and keep their advancements in check, it's simple really." Britain said with a nod of agreement with himself.
"We are not gods though, I feer rike there are some major fraws in this pran..." Japan interjected with a shake of the head.
"Japan is correct, there has to be some other way..." Germany conceded, obviously deep in thought over the matter.
"Britain! We're here to disagree with you!"
In the distance, France and America could be spotted rushing towards the group. "Bollocks, send them back, hurry!" Britain said urgently, and this was the last that the nations of the modern world would see of their ancestors - for quite a while, anyway.
Or at least, that was the plan.
Seeing as how Britain was the only one capable of doing this with his supposed 'black magic,' his being busy giving orders made him momentarily forget about the fact. Now, France and America had arrived, America throwing an arm around Britain's shoulders much to the gentleman's dismay. "Dude, who're the new guys?" America asked, Britain becoming visibly irritated.
"No point in hiding them any more, then." Britain conceded, the New Earth nations finding themselves dropping to the ground and now being fully visible and able to speak and move. What looked like white purgatory prior now appeared as a charming landscape, apparently somewhere similar to the Scottish Highlands, but obviously not on Earth.
"As long as these circumstances befall us I imagine we can chat for a while. To be honest I would be very interested in hearing from you all." Britain began with a friendly tone, extending both hands to help two of the New Earth nations to their feet. "And I'm sure you've many questions for us, too."
For all those that don't like reading, this is an RP based around the anime/manga/web comic series 'Hetalia' which focuses on the personifications of various world nations. However, here we use personifications of our NS nations in a free-for-all world with limited logic and antics aplenty. Now that you know, come play with us. Forever and ever and ever.
