Character Name: Karen Walker (aka Anastasia Beaverhousen, Andias, Queen of Air and Darkness)

Character Powers/Special Abilities: As Queen of Air and Darkness, her powers revolve finely around these two themes. Air so finely honed and harnessed that can slice through metal; thin out to become un-breathable, or so heavy that it suffocates; to propel her or others faster, levitate or fly; to summon lightning and thunder, gusts, and storms or other natural phenomena. Darkness that can black out an area that no light can penetrate; moving through shadows, but only in Fae lands; absorb and block out the light; constructs that can be as hard as steel or soft and malleable as clay. Excellent vision in the dark, able to ‘black out’ hearing, sight and smell sensory but benefits her as a tactical advantage. These powers are diminished however, please read bio.

For 1,000 years, Andais was the undisputed Queen of the Unseelie Courts. Her title befitting that of her immense power and stature and could only be addressed and known as Andais, Queen of Air and Darkness; for any other name uttered in reference would carry personal insult to the queen herself and incur her wrath in front of all the noble houses: A warning to those that dared to challenge her even in the smallest of details. Because of her iron fist rule, Andais manipulated events and forged alliance-of-necessity to keep herself on the throne and solidify her base of power. Often using proxies and cutouts to do her bidding and reaping the benefits while her minions suffered if ever found by her rivals. She thought little of them and even less of her subjects as long as they served her needs and agendas. Sickened by her callous rule, the Unseelie lands slowly fading in power, whispers of conspiracy to rebel against the throne began permeating the Unseelie Courts. Their whispers, however, were discovered by the Queen herself (and after a lengthy torture session of one of her trusted bodyguards). Instead of meeting the houses head on, she bid her time, using her powers of Air to gather the rumors, whispers and conspiracies of those that sought and end to her rule. For 200 years, she played their game and often with varied success. So confident that she had the upper hand and dashed any hopes of a rebellion, she was caught unaware one night during the coronation of Baron Rhys. 7 of the 10 noble houses rebelled in a night known as the ‘Shadow Strike’, in his name. Unable to stop the surprise uprising and lacking enough support to contend for the throne, Andais fled the Unseelie Courts and into the mortal realm. From here, she vows to take back that which belongs to her, but to do so she would need forge new alliance and rekindle old ones if she hopes to rule once again. Entering the mortal plane has its consequences, however, and her once frightening power has been significantly reduced (she can no longer call storms to her will or create hard constructs out of darkness, for example). While still a formidable opponent, Andais has chosen to use an alias as her primary form of defense and to hide from Unseelie Court until she is ready to reveal herself.

Karen
Her stubborn and inflated pride not letting herself become some vagrant on the streets, Andais took the form of a wealthy woman. Karen Walker, a wealthy socialite married to a millionaire executive – Stanly Walker. Her most loyal bodyguard has accompanied her taking the form of Rosario –her full time caretaker and maid. Karen is a flippant, egotistical, quirky, shallow, rude, abrasive, patronizing, and a rampant alcohol and ‘recreational’ drug addict who spends her husband’s money freely without any repercussions (though she her own wealth dwarfs anything Stanly has). She is known to hold lavish parties and premiere herself as the top of the upper social strata. Despite her abhorrent personality, Karen is known to care for those that matter to her despite showing little interests in their lives. It is this unique view that has made Andais finally rethink her methods and history of her rule, but her objectives remain the same.

Just reminding you! I always try to do that, to make sure that I don't godmod...... just say what your character's intention is, and let the player who's character is being attacked decide the effect!

I'd like a better definition of "moving through shadows and the in-between with little resistance" - we have several players (and a new character - Zark's) who utilize this and I need to know some of the mechanics behind her character's ability so that we don't have "magical toe-stepping". The "In-between" is heavily utilized by my own characters, for example, as an OP tool.
