Problem is that my character actively sought to engage Videssos' necromancer in conversation, which would make it look very odd if he then immediately turned around and walked away. Of course, someone or something might pop out to interrupt them. Maybe a vampire or fifteen.

Okay vampire(s) incoming

I should ask, I know decapitating them renders them permanently dead but will stabbing them with silver ( You'll see in my post) hurt them just as much as bullet?

Well, I'm back now.
Watch out, everyone.
Also, since I had a bit of an interesting week up in Scotland, the first two days spent mostly indoors with the odd trip to the beach or something, I casually watched some of those Mummy films, a documentary about ancient Egypt and the afterlife, as well as a two-part film spanning 800 years involving the Labyrinth, the grail, ancient secrets, crusades, Cathars and reincarnation, plus loads of fight scenes, I might make another character or two.
|Now a member of Mirakai's harem|
A little bird told me, "Go, Go! Socialise! Talk to those fine people! And then, KILL EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM! Plunge your knife into their throats when they ain't lookin', and then burn 'em to the ground!"
Well that's silly, isn't it?

Um, it's kinda getting late so I'll post ASAP.

App:
Name: Velissarios Komnenos
Age: 901
Appearance:
Image And Lycan here: Image

Species: Werewolf
Abilities: Lycan; so quite competent at biting and clawing when in that form, obviously, some skill with dark magic, and a bit less with elemental magic, because he's a bit of an occultist, and he's learnt some things over time. Skilled with most weapons when in human form. Enhanced senses and reflexes he retains in both human and non-human forms. Skilled with an array of weapons. Enhanced senses, as well as strength and speed.
Weapons: Segmented bone whipsword, some other stuff. Kinda TBD.
Bio: Born in A.D. 1112, Velissarios was a member of the legendary Komnenid dynasty that history never spoke of; the sixth son of John II Komnenos and Irene of Hungary. Quite early on, his talent in many areas was recognised by family and peers amongst the noble families that he maintained close contact with from a young age. He quickly became adept at things like swordsmanship and other weapons, and learned to ride with great skill from an early age. He became omni-lingual at a surprisingly fast rate. Unfortunately, as Velissarios grew up, he was regarded as a threat to certain other nobles of power, courtesy of Byzantine politics. He showed an interest in certain things he kept fairly secret, of an occult nature. He also showed an aptitude for drawing and several different instruments.
He was quite popular amongst the nobles, for his notable good looks among other reasons. He quickly became entrenched in politics and scheming of a complex nature, as well as certain mystical cults that thrived in the underside of Byzantium. Velissarios sometimes resorted to utilising dark magic to remove some of the more pesky adversaries he faced; though in the long run, this would end up creating more problems than solutions.

Under instructions by an individual who was a master of sorcery, he journeyed to a ruined fortress in what is now known as Kaljaja, or Prizren Fortress, in Prizren, Kosovo. He was informed there would be a reward in the form of a powerful artefact that would give him considerably more power than he already had, and would allow him to easily ascend to the throne of Basileia Romaion, or Byzantium. When venturing there, seemingly well-prepared for anything, he ventured into an abandoned tower in the fortress. There, was an intricately carved ancient safe; inside was an even older Sumerian cuneiform tablet. Velissarios approached it, not knowing that the proximity of someone with sorcerous power was enough to activate it. The trapped spirit of a long-dead Sumerian sorcerer, known simply as Enmerkar of Eridu, forced its way into Velissarios, surprising him. He resisted furiously as soon as he realized what was happening. Enmerkar had some control, but Velissarios had given no more ground; turning it into a stalemate.

The way it worked was such that stray thoughts and memories also shifted into Velissarios' perception, and in certain situations it would be more difficult than usual to maintain that grip, as admittedly, Enmerkar was not the sanest of individuals; most of the time, raving lunatic would be letting the dead mage off kindly. Nonetheless; there were some benefits. Enmerkar had been a powerful sorcerer in his time, and what he knew merged with the considerably smaller amount that Velissarios, still in his early 20s, knew at the time. A month or two later, Velissarios displayed an interest in methods of obtaining immortality, and scoured the library of Constantinople for certain books on the subject. Unfortunately, some shadowy individuals thought it would be a twist of irony if he received the gift of not ageing, but for a price. During one of his searches through the enormous library, a group of Lycans ambushed him. A few were killed by either his blade or his magic, but one closed in on him, inflicting a wound that was enough to ensure that he would be infected too. Velissarios knew what would happen, without Enmerkar babbling inanely in the back of his head. So, he quietly gathered his possessions, and made an excuse about leaving the empire to his family, saying that he would be away for a few months.

Meanwhile, certain individuals in his service quietly removed most written accounts of him from existence. Velissarios was responsible for a number of massacres in a number of villages and small settlements, also of certain travelling caravans. This was during the first few transformations; when he had not got the hang of controlling them and his thirst for slaughter was too strong. The spirit of Enmerkar, sometimes shouting in his head in Greek, or Sumerian; as the transfer of knowledge, memories and the like went both ways, didn't help much, as he often advocated bloodshed when there was no need. Sometimes Enmerkar even gained temporary control of Velissarios' body, and to put it simply; bad stuff happened, as one might expect when an insane ancient Sumerian sorcerer manages to gain control of a partially possessed Greek Lycan. He kept on the move a lot, occasionally purchasing places in various parts of Europe as he made his way around. Questions would be asked, as after a few decades, he knew he would not age. Thus, people would inevitably get suspicious if he gave them the opportunity to do so. Occasionally, vampires found him out and tried to kill him every few decades or so, and they got far closer than normal humans or hunters had before, so he fears them as much as he hates them. Some of them either escaped alive, or left him nearly dead, despite a decent amount of magic at his command, with some help in that department from Enmerkar. The participents in the forth crusade stired a hatred towards the Catholic church, and the venetians who had directed the crusaders to sack Constantinople. Many of the crtusaders, ad the Venetian doge himself were paid- fatally, for their actions. Many of the short-lived Latin Empire's enemies were aided in their endeavoours and victories by Velissarios. Indeed, it was he who helped restore the Nicaean Empire to the Byzantine Empire, in time.

He had notable influence in the crusades against the Cathars in southern France, where he grew attached to some of the locals in Carcasonne and Montsegur. When the crusades came, Velissarios was responsible for the death of many of the crusaders, and there were tales of a dark beast with terrible sorcery, a servant of the devil incarnate, a creature that had brought about the demise of many men during the crusade. Especially when the crusaders burnt the Cathar locals alive, as heretics. The death count increased then. When Montsegur was besieged, Velissarios helped the defenders, even as he found more knowledge about the ancient and mysterious artefacts amongst their possession. The Grail, and the books that would help lead to it, and the Labyrinth, were smuggled out of Montsegur. A few of the besiegers tried to stop them, but were slaughtered by Velissarios.

Centuries later, it was Velissarios who became known in southern France, as the beast of Gévaudan. As well as in the Holy Roman Empire, as the Wolf of Ansbach, though of course, the superstitouus locals ended up pinnin th blame for the deaths he caused on an ordinary wolf, proclaiming the animal as something not so normal. In Spain, he was the one behind the killings of the Werewolf of Allariz, which were again pinned by authorities on an innocent.

In the world wars, he actively made efforts to slaughter any soldiers that stepped near his grounds. These became places that were shunned and avoided by opposing sides and scouting efforts ended up disasters, so many simply blanked these places out and marked them as no-go areas, and he managed to ensure that there was just enough incentive for the more important leaders of the third Reich, to never look into these places, and focus on the Allies and the resistance fighters. Velissarios had a feeling about the outcome of the war, and simply chose to stay out of it, as he knew that it could go badly wrong for him if he were to be involved. Sometimes, those who went in search for occult artefacts in such places found seemingly empty buildings, and at other times, they simply disappeared. For a lot longer than that, though, was the fact that the locals always stayed away from his abodes, for they viewed such places as cursed and evil. Now, in modern day, he keeps things even more well hidden, and has managed to collect many things of mundane and occult nature over the centuries, travelling as he often does.

App:
Name: Menkauhor Kaiu
Age: Between 4,000 to 5,000 years.
Appearance: What did you expect?
Species: Human (Demigod)
Abilities: Very powerful sorcerer, some divine magic, but an almost unparrellelled skill with Ancient Egyptian Heka magic. Very skilled with an array of weapons used in ancient Egypt. Cannot be harmed by mortal weapons, and the ability to call upon and control hordes of flesh eating scarabs, undead ancient Egyptian warriors, sandstorms, rivers and an array of other such things. Regeneration, telekenisis, etc.
Weapons: A khopesh (sickle-sword), two Egyptian daggers, an enchanted Egyptian axe. Kinda TBD.
Bio: Born in ancient Egypt, he rose to position of Pharaoh, being of the Fifth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom, succeeding his father, Nyuserre Ini. Some rumours suggested that his mother was a lesser known Egyptian goddess named Mafdet He grew able at manipulating others in the Royal Court from an early age, as well as rather skilled with a range of weapons, often going out hunting in the deserts of his land. He was renowned for his skill with Heka, the magic of ancient Egypt. At some other point, he became enamoured by one who would later become queen; Meresankh. In the quest for more power and knowledge, Menkauhor became involved in a dark conspiracy which inextricably endangered him. Unknowingly manipulated by Meresankh, who was skilled in dark sorcery, the stakes rose even more. When Menkauhor gained two very important books, the Book of the Dead, and the Book of Thoth he became targeted by many individuals. He read the books, learning a great deal about spells involving the dead, as well as growing sorcerous skill and knowledge from the Book of Thoth, becoming greatly more piwerful with sorcery, yet cursed, too. Meresankh soon gained both books, and seeing the potential danger that Menkauhor represented, whilst she herself gained knowledge from both books, deigned to keep close to Menkauhor, having between them three children, Remkuy, Kaemtjenent and Djedkare Isesi.

It wasn't too long, before the influenced Menkauhor changed. He grew darker and more withdrawn, and his reputation changed accordingly. He turrned from a benevolent ruler to a tyrant, the subtle magic worked upon him gradually becoming more potent. He rarely showed much in the way of emotions, save sometimes, anger and some other negative emotions, often at something he couldn't' quite place. More people in his lands, turned against him and an advisor of his, a high priest, noble and official, by the name of Rekhmire caught an inkling of what was behind his change. It was too late, for even as Rekhmire warned Menkauhor, Meresankh used dark magic, including knowledge gained from the Book of Thoth, to kill Rekhmire and trap Menkauhor. Officially, it was claimed that Rekhmire had turned out to be a rebel traitor, who became fallen, driven into disgrace and buried alive inside a tomb in Thebes, made in advance, for him.

Menkauhor faced a worse fate than that. Betrayed by the one he trusted most, he was cursed by a powerful spell from the book of the dead, the details of which are better left out. Meresankh gained control of Egypt, whilst he was imprisoned in a pyramid which would in due time become lost beneath the shifting sands of Egypt. Menkauhor was imprisoned in a sarcophagus, in a room along with the loyal attendants, servants and guards of his who had tried to stop Meresankh's plans. They were embalmed whilst alive, built into the very walls of the tomb. Menkauhor had his tongue cut out and flesh eating scarabs placed inside the sarcophagus he was trapped in. This would result in a rather painful experience as one might imagine, the process taking some amount of time, and not helping much with his sanity. When he died, he found his heart being weighed on the scales, which was part of the afterlife of ancient Egypt. However, before he could face judgement, something dragged his soul back from the realm of the dead, to that of the living- likely a spell from the Book of the Dead, by Meresankh. However, he was still trapped and unable to reside inside his body, yet trapped by enchantments within the confines of the sarcophagus. Meanwhile, after a century or so of ruling Egypt, an immortal Meresankh disappeared, taking artefacts of occult significance, including the two books, with her, into the mists of time.

Millennia later, ancient sands by chance revealed the pyramid to an expedition of archaeologists. When the discovery was reported to the Egyptian government, a mysterious, high-ranking official soon travelled to meet the archaeologists, who were working hard to clear the area around as-of-then unopened pyramid, in Saqqara. The tomb was entered by the group, and they soon moved through a winding array of tunnels, before reaching the main chamber. The mysterious official brought out an ancient book, and before the archaeologists could investigate further, they were slaughtered or incapacitated by ancient Egyptian dark magic, coming from the unknown official. A powerful resurection spell was cast upon Menkauhor and the trapped spirit was once more able to enter the body. The corpse, however, remained terribly ravaged by the fate that had fallen upon the ancient Pharaoh, and remained unwieldy until life-force could be drained from the few surviving archaeologists nearby.

Menkauhor broke free of the sarcophagus, his tortured form once more gaining the semblance of life. He felt something oddly familiar about the individual, reminding him fainry of someone long ago. The power he'd felt also bore the hallmarks of certain magic that resonated with dark sorcery still heavily influencing his mind, and his soul. The fact that such magic resonated as such indicated that it came from the same source. Thus, Menkauhor deduced, the individual he'd seen, who had brought him back and killed some of those archaeologists before exiting the pyramid and disappearing, was none other than Meresankh. Though he did not understand why the dark sorceress had brought him back, after all that had taken place thousands of years ago, he sensed there was a clear intent in the act. With great powers once more at his command, Menkauhor brought a veritable army of undead servants, attendants and soldiers once more into unlife, to serve him. He would determine what he could do in this vastly changed world, and why the one who'd betrayed him, had brought him back. The Pharaoh-sorcerer gathered his forces, including that of a certain cult of mortals that worshipped him, and had done so for a very long time, eagerly awaiting his return even as their numbers waxed and waned over time, and now travels the world, deciding how to gather more power, to find the reasons for his resurrection, and most importantly, visit vengeance upon Meresankh.

Um, how come Arthur and the vampire both completely ignored Kemmler with the small army of reanimated corpses?
Also, Belial seems to have walked right through Zimudar and Johnston.

Heh. I will probably have Zimudar do a shadowy-teleport manoeuvre near the vampires.
Might even bring in the cavalry. Like that Byzantine werewolf-sorcerer with two souls, and the Pharaonic scourge of ancient Egypt + personal army of cultists and undead.

War's starting to sound a little like a douche. :p
May as well create something that can easily rival him, like a certain evil being from Zorostrianism, Manichaeism, and several other religions round that part of the world.

App:
Name: Ahriman (AKA: Angra Mainyu, King of Darkness)
Age: Unknown, obviously quite old.
Appearance: : Can sometimes manifest as a dark mist, among many other things. Recently added forms here: This and this. Because Aizen makes sense.

Other forms including this, this, this, and this. Also, this, and this. This too, as well as this, and this.
Species: God
Abilities: Divine power, and as the manifestation of evil, darkness, death, destruction and stuff like that, he obviously has great and varied powers and abilities. Manifesting as anything he wishes least among them. For instance, he can also grant someone's greatest wish in return for their soul, and is extremely adept at persuasion, manipulation and corruption. Can't really be killed, either. Being who he is, and what he is. The best that can be done is to trap him with something that can imprison a very powerful divine being. After all, he is the counterpart to the God of Light, Fire and good-ness.
Weapons: Sometimes known to create a dark bladed-staff out of manifested Darkness, among many other things.
Bio: Look Here. Also, copy & pasted from another website:

In ancient Persian (Iran) religion and books of Zoroastrianism, Angra Mainyu is the god of darkness, the eternal destroyer of good, personification and creator of evil, bringer of death and disease. He is seen as the personification of evil, he leading the dark forces against the hosts of Spenta Mainyu, the holy spirit, who assisted Ahura Mazda, the wise lord, and final victor of the cosmic conflict.
He lives in darkness, often residing in a place where all those who do evil go to after their demise (Hell) and his symbol is the snake.
In Zoroastrian myth, Ahriman (formerly Anra Mainyu or Angra Mainyu) or Arimanius (Roman) is the leader of the powers of evil, king of darkness, death and destruction. He is in constant conflict with his twin brother Ohrmazd Ahura Mazda, the leader of the powers of good, life and creation. Both were children of Zurvan who wanted a son and made sacred offerings to that effect. He began to doubt his sacrifices would work and that exact moment, Ahriman and Ohrmazd came into being, Ohrmazd in response to his faithfulness and Ahriman as punishment for his doubts. Zurvan decided his firstborn child would rule the earth. Upon hearing this, Ahriman tore his way out of the womb to claim his birthright. Zurvan was forced to keep his word and appoint Ahriman ruler of the Earth, but stipulated it would only be for 9000 years. This time was divided into four eras lasting thousands of years. At the end of the last era, three savior spirits would destroy the forces of evil. As in many later traditions where good defeats evil, Ohrmazd would defeat Ahriman in combat, the Underworld would empty, and Ohrmazd would rest in peace for all eternity. But until that time, Ahriman rules over both the Earth and Underworld, causing suffering, as he will.

The Deavas, the followers of Ahriman, may have originally been the culture heroes and gods of the early Persians before the influx of Indo-European invaders. The Dualism of good and evil found in Zoroastrianism, and adopted by Judeo-Christian traditions, may have been introduced to convert the Persians away from their old traditions to the new.

In the Zoroastrian myth of Mithra, Ahriman tried to persuade his attendant animals, the scorpion, ant, and snake, to drink the blood of the bull slain by Mithra. If he had succeeded in this, he would have prevented life from forming on Earth. In another legend, he attempted to thwart Ahura Mazda by sending a flood to destroy the world.

Ahriman predates Lucifer in the Christian traditions. His name first appears in the Gathas, or Songs of Zoroaster dating from the seventh century BCE. He is frequently referred to as Lord of Lies, and like his Judeo-Christian and Islamic counterparts, is responsible for all evil in the world. He was never a member of a host of spirits and never fell from grace as his counterparts, Lucifer and Iblis, did. The word deava is the root of the word devil.

"In the beginning," said Zoroaster, "the twin spirits were known as the one good and the other evil, in thought, word, and deed. Between them the wise chose wisely, not so the fools. And when these spirits met they established life and death so that in the end the followers of deceit should meet with the worst existence, but the followers of truth with the wise lord."

Ahura Mazdah told Zoroaster that Angra Mainya had upset his plans for making Persia into a terrestrial paradise. All of the creatures off "the wise lord" were created with free will: both spiritual beings and humans. Angra Mainya, the twin brother of "the holy spirit," simply took pleasure in "choosing the worst things." In order to thwart Ahura Mazdah he introduced frost in the winter, heat in the summer, all manners of disasters, and other ills that humankind has to endure. He likewise created the dragon Azhi Dahaka, who brought ruin to earth. When Ahura Mazdah created the stars in the heaven, he "sprang into the sky like a snake" and in opposition to those illuminaries formed the planets, whose baleful influence then fell across the world. Throughout the creation there was a cleavage and antagonism so deep that under the Sassanians (226-632) there arose a myth to soften the dualism. The twin spirits became the offspring of a pre-existing primeval being, Zurvan Akarana, "infinite time." Because Zurvan had vowed that the firstborn should rule as king and Ahriman "ripped the womb open" in order to claim the title, the evil one was given the kingdom of the world for a limited period. "After nine thousand years," Zurvan insisted, "Ohrmazd will reign and will do everything according to his good pleasure."

Currently, Ahriman is out and about, prowling the world and looking for ways to bring death, chaos and destruction upon the world. And generally cause trouble.
